It's been a week since Sylvie's nightmares began, SO. Might as well start into the pups meeting up, eh? ;P

WC: 964

Sylvie had been sitting there, watching a mound of leaves she had stumbled upon for a creature that lay inside. Having successfully escaped from the business as usual back at the Chien Hotel, the whelp had found herself wandering aimlessly through Cour Des Miracles territory. As per usual, she seemed to have left her partner in crime behind, under Alaine's watchful eye and the incoming presence of more lessons. At this point, the six month old believed she knew more than these basic lessons would give her- she hunted better than Caillen did, little white paws silent upon the crunching of the snow, scouted better than he did, those vivid violet gems scanning everything with the utmost precision, and certainly was better at sneaking away that he was.

She felt bad, being so much better adapted to doing the tasks of menial, everyday survival than her dreamer was... leaving him behind so commonly tugged at her heartstrings in a way she had yet to understand. And yet, in it's own way, it was almost better that he not successfully chase after her. This way, she wouldn't have to worry about him as much- as she constantly did- with him safely back at the hotel while she was out 'adventuring'. Though Caillen was obviously larger, stronger, and certainly capable of doing things Sylvie would never be able to accomplish on her own, the chocolate fae still worried about her slate and blue comrade. Acting almost like a second mother to him, the child she-dog always seemed to be prodding the larger hybrid away from danger, trying to help him see the ground before him as well as the stars above the clouds he so often seemed to frequent.

But alas, she had left him behind yet again, so these constant worryings and attentive mother-ings were off and elsewhere. So, her solitary searching and sightseeing had led the lilac and white border collie to this strange, leafy pile, hidden by frost and a few blobs of newly fallen snow. The scents drifting from the amusing, musty pile of autumn's leave had captured the energetic girl's attention- they were animal, surely, but what kind, she was not totally sure. Back on focus again, the child decided she knew that something... something living... something breathing was definitely under there.

Her stance stiffened a bit as she sent a few of the crunchy colors flying in the chilled wind around her, curiously burrowing her white-marked muzzle into the newly exposed hole. Diligent violet gems caught movement within the mound as she opened it up still more. Finally, whatever it was had noticed her. As her eyes adjusted to the dim light beneath the leaf-pile, the young fae cocked her head and raised an invisible brow as she discovered the inhabitant was nothing more than a little mouse. Burrowing in the rest of the way, the collie sent the mouse scurrying, laughing as it dashed over her half-in, half-out body to get away from the large creature that had invaded it's nest. Finally, with a plop, the girl was lost beneath the brush and leaf pile, giggling at the smells under it all. Wolf, mouse, fox, and various other animals had come into contact with the silly free-floating vegetation at some point before it had reached this pile here, explaining her difficulties in figuring out what was inside earlier.

Her head popped out from beneath the leaves, spitting out the fallen vegetation before retreating back into the pile again. Curiosity peaked from the tyke as she poked about some of her little house, refilling the hole she had come in through and leaving the roof open. The leaves, it appeared, had frozen into a dome of sort, giving it some structure, but as she moved, it attempted to fall down on her. Grumbling from under the silly lot of nature, she pushed and prodded them all back into place, and, grinning with triumph, was awarded a leaf hut beig enough for two. Happy, she let out an excited bark, only to have the whole thing fall on her. Lost beneath the leaves and a few blobs of snow, the little body of the silly collie wriggled and squirmed about, until finally her head came back into sight again from above the pile, a frown plastered on her maw.

"Silly leaves... you're supposed to stay up!" She said, laughing suddenly as she wriggled out of the pile and took up a seat nearby, beneath a tree. Mismatched ears flickered as she took to licking at her paws, now more grey than white from the dirt in the leaf-pile. This was a strange habit for a dog- it befit a cat more than the collie pup- but she decided she needed to look less messy and more normal if she ever planned to go back to the Chien Hotel with a workable excuse.

Amethyst eyes narrowed at her paws after she finished, deciding on if they were satisfactory, and then focused on the tree the lupus-form canine leaned against. Closing her eyes, she imagined what it would have looked like with leaves- big, green, luxuriant leaves that were far prettier on the tree than in many colors at the base. I wonder if all these leaves came from this tree...? As she pondered this, she realized something rather hard to have overlooked in the first place. How did the leaves get into the pile they had been in before? That mouse obviously didn't have the power to move them all into a nice, neat pile. Perhaps there was another wolf around that she had missed?

On guard despite her rather relaxed position, Amethyst gems opened and looked about the scene before them, taking note of any interesting phenomena she had missed prior.

Talk. Think. Walk.
