Mati wished that the world was different. it could be so many wondrous things if it was without all the bad that it had. The darkness was not always recognizable, for she could easily remember that she had not been able to see until it was too late. Mati knew that her hero was no longer living in the city. The old spice of his scent did not linger on the streets when she roamed them, and so she knew that he had moved on. Mati could not guarantee that there would be someone to save the young Marino girl from the dangers, and thus she could not encourage her to go off alone. You have plenty of time to see the world. What ever her world would become. For the Church woman it was a small place, hardly extending much further east from where they stood.

Her next question threw the female off her train of thought. Well... Mati said with a growing smile, trying to figure out what it really was like to be as tall as she was. I always know when its raining, before anyone else. She figured it to be true, though she knew of larger and taller wolves. Still she gave the smaller girl a smile and a little wink.
