It all goes, all goes by

Violet orbs focused instantly, already giving space for horror to enter those uniquely hued eyes as dark smoke rose from what he estimated to be Flander’s field. How could they do such a thing? Dahlia de Mai was not innocent, but not all of them deserved death. Yet this was the message that the coyote clan had brought together with the smoke and a rising call of an alpha in need of his servants. Conor was surprised at the indifference he felt for his father as he called for assistance, but everything was overshadowed by the need to protect those he loved. He was already far from the new home he and the rest had set up in Wolfville, and as he closed to the invading area with a body pressured to the limit to obtain speed, he saw destruction moving on its own, without the continuous assistance of Inferni members. He stopped dead and took a whiff of the wind, trying to survive traces of hot ash and the stench of forest fire. The breeze was the licking flames’ friend, pushing it on towards the golden furred being, on towards the very heart of Dahlia de Mai. Several houses were already half devoured by the hungry disaster and without thinking the young man lifted his muzzle towards the sky and let his own emergency call rise.

The main river dancing through half of Dahlia’s territory was too far away, but there were two lesser streams that he could remember in the heat of the moment. It wouldn’t help because his hands were empty. The young council member did not wait for the assistance to come before taking the next step. He raced from house to house, tossing out whatever he found of buckets and bowls that could hold water. He watched the fire slowly eat closer and frowned openly as he ran about to gather what he could of beholders.
