http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y199/l ... _table.jpg);"> FORWARD-DATED to April 1st. O, hi this is short! It would burn just like it did in his catastrophic dreams. Fire would consume Inferni like it should have consumed Dahlia de Mai. The ragged beast and his most loyal puppet had already broken into the south-western borders of the infamous clan of filth. It was rarer to see the blue eyed demon in any other form than his feral secui form, but gasoline in large amounts was relatively heavy and there was no way the self crowned King of Dahlia would risk to spill a drop of the precious liquid, so optime was tonight's choice. Whatever was the excuse Inferni had for its weak border defences was puny. The two Dahlians had elegantly avoided a cleverly placed trap on their way, but that was also all there was. The silence of the night buzzed in the man’s ears. Daytime would perhaps have been a preferred time for many, but Haku wanted to see the flames break through the darkness and grow into a size that could not be stopped by mere buckets with water like the Dahlian fire had. It would not be stopped! The blue eyed man’s face cracked in two in a crazed grin as gasoline seemed to burn into his nose and into his already damaged brain He ran in an even line as he put the large beholder upside down and poured the soon to be deadly liquid at the dry, mixed ground. Madness was such a beautiful thing. |

Oh, he lamented having only two arms at this very moment. Both carried heavy gallon jugs of gasoline, but he wished he had two more to also carry the ones Haku held. The Dahlian king should not have had to carry any gasoline at all, but Sicarus understood why he had been chosen for this mission. He was most trustworthy and they could not have twenty Dahlians heading to Inferni on this night; they could not risk being found out before the blaze was burning high already. Sicarus, of course, was positively elated to be on this journey; being chosen by Haku was something to be proud of, no doubt. The tawny-furred werewolf's head was held rather high, though he certainly didn't let the arrogance get in his way—this was war, they were on enemy territory. The tawny werewolf stopped behind his darkly-furred leader, watching what the Rosen did so that he could better copy him. Sicarus was not an arsonist; he had never set a fire beyond lighting a candle before in his life, but in his Rosen he trusted. This would hurt them, this would damage them. Yellowy canines bared in a ferocious grin as the tawny werewolf copied the alpha, pouring out his own gasoline slowly, dragging it over the land so as to better consume it. Inferni would burn for what they'd done to Dahlia de Mai; the damage was not so great, true, but it was still unthinkable in Sicarus's head to allow such a crime to go unpunished. He remained silent, intent on pouring out all of the gas. No need to talk, no need to alert others to their presence yet. When the match was struck and the fire was lighting up the quiet night, then they could howl and laugh to all the coyotes that their precious wasteland would be consumed in flame. .sicarus-crow p {padding:0px 20px 10px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .sicarus-crow b {color:#EBE5D8; font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size:14px; } .sicarus-crow-separator {font-family:'century gothic', arial, sans-serif; font-size:13px; font-weight:bold; text-align:center; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#EBE5D8; padding-left:20px; letter-spacing:1px; border-bottom:1px dotted #352E26;} .sicarus-crow-ooc {font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:10px; letter-spacing:.4px;} .sicarus-crow {background-color:#C2B1A7; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/other/sictable2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#352E26; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:2px; line-height:14px; width:400px; text-align:justify; } </style>
Sicarus was an arrogant creature; he had devoted himself to Haku and that was that. There was no reconsidering where this was concerned; the tawny-furred werewolf was indebted to Haku for allowing him amongst the Dahlians, and this small act of arson was nothing. The King might have asked Sicarus to walk off a cliff; the only thing Sicarus might have done was to ask why. If the King provided sound reasoning for his execution, then there was no discussing the matter further—Sicarus was to jump. Oh, how Kai would have hated Sic for being chosen for this mission—but there was no more Kai anymore. The first canister emptied, the male tossed it aside as quietly as he could setting about working quickly on the second. The smell of gas would rouse passerby sooner or later, and the pair of Dahlian men could not have that. There was burning to be done, first. The blue-eyed Alpha padded over to Sicarus and issued his command; wordlessly the man shook out the remainder of the second gas container and fumbled for his matches, seeking the tiny pouch he had tied about his waste. There was no reason to fill the pouch with anything but the matches, and Sicarus found them quickly, taking a few steps back. There was a breeze, so he cupped the matches. True, it would harm the fire's initial start with this tiny flame, but when it got to burning, the wind would only spread the destruction the pair of wolves had wrought on this coyote territory. He drew in a quiet breath as the match flared up, holding it cupped in his large paws for a moment, shooting a glance toward Haku. A rare, full-tooth smile burst onto the werewolf's face, and he tossed the match forward, the flames spreading forth in a beautiful flare, devouring the fluid quickly. “For you, my Alpha,” he said, throwing his arms wide as the fire began to dance. .sicarus-crow p {padding:0px 20px 10px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .sicarus-crow b {color:#EBE5D8; font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size:14px; } .sicarus-crow-separator {font-family:'century gothic', arial, sans-serif; font-size:13px; font-weight:bold; text-align:center; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#EBE5D8; padding-left:20px; letter-spacing:1px; border-bottom:1px dotted #352E26;} .sicarus-crow-ooc {font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:10px; letter-spacing:.4px;} .sicarus-crow {background-color:#C2B1A7; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/other/sictable2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#352E26; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:2px; line-height:14px; width:400px; text-align:justify; } </style>
Oh, how jealous Kai would be at this glorious night! Sicarus alone had been chosen to accompany his lovely leader; Sicarus alone was trustworthy amongst the Dahlian remnants to come with their exalted and wonderful leader. The coyotes would burn for what they'd done to Kai, for what they'd done to Haku's sister, for everything they'd ever done to pain or discomfort or even mildly annoy his wonderful leader. There was an overwhelming sense of pride within Sicarus for having been chosen for this mission above his packmates. That pride was about to come crashing down, and in an instant it did—white-hot pain sliced into the orange-eyed canine's face, shock and disbelief bowling him over. Before he did, the Rosen's claws flashed and there was a gaping hole in his stomach, leaking sanguine fluid. The wound itself would be fatal if Sicarus did not receive care—already crimson fluid was staining across his stomach, his Optime hands flying to the wounds, his brilliant, fire-colored eyes looking slowly from the wound to his leader, his ears folded back and his eyes wide. “Why...?” How had he failed Haku? Surely there must be reason for this; surely he must have failed at pleasing his Rosen in some integral way. Perhaps this was for failing to keep Kai alive; perhaps it was because he simply was not good enough... Sicarus did not know, and a low whine escaped his throat, all of his bravado evaporated in the face of his own epic failure. To Sicarus, this was entirely his own fault—his leader would not betray him in such a manner if he had not done something horrifically wrong. Perhaps it was his failure to kill an Infernian, to inflict major damage onto one? Sicarus could only guess at the motivations behind the hirsute creature. .sicarus-crow p {padding:0px 20px 10px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .sicarus-crow b {color:#EBE5D8; font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size:14px; } .sicarus-crow-separator {font-family:'century gothic', arial, sans-serif; font-size:13px; font-weight:bold; text-align:center; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#EBE5D8; padding-left:20px; letter-spacing:1px; border-bottom:1px dotted #352E26;} .sicarus-crow-ooc {font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:10px; letter-spacing:.4px;} .sicarus-crow {background-color:#C2B1A7; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/other/sictable2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#352E26; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:2px; line-height:14px; width:400px; text-align:justify; } </style>
How could something like this happen? Sicarus had failed Haku; what had he done to spark the man's hatred? The tan-furred wolf had attempted to be a good servant to the dark Rosen; if only the man would give him a reason. If only he would reveal to the Italian wolf what had displeased him so, Sicarus might be alright with this. He had been trained to accept his punishment in the event of a failure; sometimes it was sufficient to simply self-harm, sometimes destruction was in order. He had failed his mentor and the monastery, but they were improper, incorrect—they did not understand. Sicarus had only been trying to make things better. The world did not need the whores and scum he had exterminated from the earth. Was Haku indicating with this act that he was no better? The sound of flame was dim in the man's ears; the laughter only barely penetrated the foggy haze of pain and defeat overtaking the tawny-furred werewolf. He had failed, he had done wrong, and in death he was not even permitted to know why. The tawny wolf yelped as he was flipped over with a rough kick, thrashing weakly against the other man as he was picked up, dragged by the arm, and carried over the borders. His glazed eyes only barely saw the dancing flames as they were spreading; dimly in the distance, the sound of a coyote alarm rousing the night caught his attention. If the fire did not burn him, if Haku did not kill him... the coyotes would make damn certain to finish him off, that was for certain. He was aware of being lifted from the ground, blood still leaking from the large wounds torn in his body; he landed with a thump. “Rrraghhh!” the wolf cried out weakly, the metal jaws of the trap snapping half-shut around his unfortunate hip, crushing the bones of it. Of course the trap could not shut completely with so much flesh in its jaws, but it did its work well; Sicarus would never walk a step again, even if he managed to escape the looming death facing him from three sides. Without warning, the wolf lost consciousness, whether it was from bloodloss or pain—his vision faded and he went completely limp, his breath barely causing his chest to rise. The only indication that he still lived was the blood still steadily streaming from his wounds, far too much to be a corpse yet. .sicarus-crow p {padding:0px 20px 10px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .sicarus-crow b {color:#EBE5D8; font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size:14px; } .sicarus-crow-separator {font-family:'century gothic', arial, sans-serif; font-size:13px; font-weight:bold; text-align:center; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#EBE5D8; padding-left:20px; letter-spacing:1px; border-bottom:1px dotted #352E26;} .sicarus-crow-ooc {font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:10px; letter-spacing:.4px;} .sicarus-crow {background-color:#C2B1A7; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/other/sictable2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#352E26; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:2px; line-height:14px; width:400px; text-align:justify; } </style>
O Y HELO THAR SIE IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HAVE THREADED WITH YOU HOW R U ((536)) The silver-furred hybrid had been curled asleep in her cave when something woke her; she did not know immediately what it was that had roused her from sleep, but she was on her feet in an instant, her heart beating quickly. Vieira stirred in the alcove, but a quiet word from Kae silenced her again. Something was wrong, but she did not yet know what it was—in any case, Vieira needed to stay right where she was. There would be no endangering the tawny-furred woman again; she could not defend herself and she was a risk and a liability in the simplest terms, and far too important to Kae in more complicated terms. The smoke-furred hybrid stalked to the mouth of her cave anxiously, her yellow-golden eye scanning the horizon. Her caved faced the beach and the wind carried the smell of the smoke away from her, but the hybrid woman could not shake the feeling that something was horribly, deathly wrong. She could not remember her dream, so it was not that again, unless it was one of those awful creeping ones where the feelings persisted but the memory of the dream faded away. The scarred woman rounded the crest of a hill, and distantly, far on the horizon, a spreading glow drew her attention. Squinting at first, the hybrid yowled a second later, alarm raising in her voice. She was off like a shot a second later—if nothing else, both Rikka and Mason both lived around her, they would alert the others. The silver-furred coyote raced toward the landfill, having absolutely no idea what she would do or how she would keep the fire from spreading. Arson hadn't even entered her mind yet, but as she drew closer, two things happened: the smell of smoke grew exponentially and choked the air all around her, and another scent entered the air. Gasoline. A growl rumbled in her throat and she charged forward even faster, sprinting and flying over the flat territory of the Waste as fast as she could. Kaena was not a born runner; she did not generally derive satisfaction from running distances as some did, but this was an emergency, and it required every ounce of speed within her. Lack of knowing what to do faded quickly as she approached—two scents became apparent, both of which were thick with Dahlian scent. The confusing smell of blood pervaded the air, apparent even through the thick and choking smoke. The cloudy-furred woman leaped forward even as she recognized that smell and its bearer for who it was, the monster Haku himself. A snarl affixed itself to the scarred woman's face and she charged past the fires, no longer concerned with putting them out. There would be others behind her. They would deal with that; she would seek her vengeance now. Looming up before her, she saw him, still turned and watching the fires. Using a final burst of speed, the silver-furred woman charged him, not hesitating or stopping for a moment, flying straight for his face. She had not even taken notice of the other Dahlian some feet away, maybe already dead—she only had an eye for Haku. .kae-dreaming p {padding:0px 36px 5px 40px; text-indent:25px; margin:0px;} .kae-dreaming b {color:#AFAFAF; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:11px; font-weight:normal;} .kae-dreaming {width:420px; margin:0 auto; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/kae/kae_dream.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:fixed; padding:75px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#2A2A2A; word-spacing:.2px; line-height:12px; letter-spacing:.1px; text-align:justify; border:1px solid #000000;} </style>
I wasn't talking to YOU, I was talking to SIEEEE. DUH. :| (Is sie's OOC crazy equivalent to haku's IC crazy? :| Stay tuned and find outttt~!) The silver-furred hybrid had known fear before. She had feared this man, she had feared this meeting, she had feared looking into those brilliantly colored eyes again. Now, as she saw him again, there was nothing of the sort. Whatever was in her that had been fearful had rotten and fermented into something awful, something black and baleful rising within her, creating a terrible cacophony of rage and hurt rising within her. It screamed and clamored for its vengeance; more than anything it desired to destroy in a terrible way, one that reflected the chocolate-furred man before her in a way she could not face. Perhaps that was why the ashen hybrid thirsted for his blood so; she had inflicted his same terrible deeds on another, she had been him in some awful and sick way. He had pervaded her very existence and tainted her, he had made her wretched and frail and dirty. The only way to become clean again was to bathe in his blood. The secui reared up as she neared him, catapulting herself from the flat ground with her hindpaws, soaring forward toward his belly, her claws outstretched and reaching for the soft and tender flesh there. She would pull out his entrails and throw them in the fire; she would have his charred and blackened bones to keep. Her mind was blank and red, empty of anything save the terrible things she had planned for him. The smokey-furred hybrid was hardly even aware of herself, let alone her surroundings—nothing save his presence registered. There was no fire, there was not even an Inferni behind her—all the world had melted away, leaving the two of them suspended where they were in flat nothing, seconds from terrible impact. She did not know it, but she was making noise, a monstrous roar—it was not canine, it was unprecedented, a wall of sound reverberating from that same dark place that the fear had curled up and died and left in its place pure and simple loathing. .kae-dreaming p {padding:0px 36px 5px 40px; text-indent:25px; margin:0px;} .kae-dreaming b {color:#AFAFAF; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:11px; font-weight:normal;} .kae-dreaming {width:420px; margin:0 auto; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/kae/kae_dream.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:fixed; padding:75px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#2A2A2A; word-spacing:.2px; line-height:12px; letter-spacing:.1px; text-align:justify; border:1px solid #000000;} </style>
I AM NOT A CRAZY BAT :| ((330)) The silver-furred woman had a long, long time to think this meeting over. She had contemplated it many times—early on, this meeting had been just as awful as the last, and he had loomed above her, too massive and too powerful for her to so much as approach. He had hunted her instead, stalking her through the evening and all through the night, snarling through her dreams. The hybrid woman could not have even imagined trying to fight him again; she would have just as soon run from him forever before she even so much as faced him. Something had been broken in her, though, something had snapped—she was no longer complacent to run away from him, so she did the only other thing she knew how to do. She ran toward him. She attacked him. The terrible sound of her rage was still a cacophony within her, a thudding sound rising up like the pumping of blood in her ears, burning hotly in her chest like the worst liquor she had ever downed because of this man. Her claws hit flesh, blessed flesh, clawing and tearing wildly and without concern for her own well being, gouging red lines perpendicular to his ribs. He had retracted somewhat, balling his body up to absorb her impact—she did not throw him to the ground and even as she clawed at him pain filtered through her consciousness, echoing dimly through her head. Pain did not matter; even as his teeth gouged the flesh of her right shoulder as she hit the ground with four paws again, nothing changed—the growling roar still echoed from her throat, her eye still burned fury and hate. Immediately on hitting the earth, she shoved forward once more, propelling herself off of the ground and diving for his protected throat, determined to rip it from him. He would breathe from a bloodied hole there for a minute, and then he would not breathe at all. .kae-dreaming p {padding:0px 36px 5px 40px; text-indent:25px; margin:0px;} .kae-dreaming b {color:#AFAFAF; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:11px; font-weight:normal;} .kae-dreaming {width:420px; margin:0 auto; background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/rp/kae/kae_dream.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:fixed; padding:75px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#2A2A2A; word-spacing:.2px; line-height:12px; letter-spacing:.1px; text-align:justify; border:1px solid #000000;} </style>
Despite being quite visible, the wolf seemed oblivious of her approach, his deep blue eyes completely focused on her Lykoi grandmother. At the last moment, the disgusting beast seemed to recognize her approaching form as something solid and dangerous, and he pulled back the moment before the glittering blade stabbed at the spot where his face had been. This was also dangerously close to Kaena, but immensely strong muscles helped well by urgency and adrenaline let her sharp claws dig into Kaena’s scruff and draw the woman back and away from Halo’s half-sibling. She put her entire weight into forcing the woman backwards and away before her body twisted and gave the sub-leader a sudden push in an attempt to push the older relative off her feet.
It only took a moment, but that was all it took for the male to turn and flee once again. Ruby orbs watched the two-legged form hurry away. Ears took in the crazed sound of madness catching in Haku’s throat. Two coyotes and a sword along with the promise of more members shortly seemed to have made the male choose cowardice, but his instant retreat had been unexpected. Halo was usually an obedient girl in her leaders’ presence, but not today. She turned to the apparently crazed woman and sneered with rage that was for once not concealed. ”You fool!” her voice was angry and upset, but she bit down on her tongue and choked back the reprimand she so wished to shower the woman with. Did Kaena truly wish for death?! What was she thinking rushing at their crazed and dangerous enemy this way! Hot tears wanted to flood her eyes, but she refused to let her emotions overwhelm her.
She turned slightly, now of course ashamed of her actions against her own beloved grandmother, and now noticed the unconscious wolf caught in the bear trap. How peculiar.

Something had changed. A blade sang through the air and there was something different in the man's eye now, and the roar within Kaena changed pitch, from violence and sheer rage to desperation. She saw him, fleeing and running, his back to her now. “No!” She was in the air, reared back on her hind legs, yanking and pulling against the sudden weight at her shoulders, writhing to break the grasp on her shoulders. In a moment he was gone, his fleeing hindquarters disappearing into the shadows. A desperate sort of sound escaped the hybrid's throat and she hit the ground, the weight gone from her scruff. She whirled around, and for a too-long, terrible moment it almost seemed as if she would turn on Halo, her burning eye regarding the younger canine with that predatory flame still burning brightly there. Presently, it dimmed, disappointment and shame for not having taken him then and there filtering through the scarred woman. Her head dropped, and she did not respond to the younger canine's words. She was almost tired now, her energy spent and channeled into that momentary burst of rage, and now she was at a loss as to what to do—flame was devouring Inferni's territory, and all Kaena had thought about was the blood she was owed. Lifting her one-eyed gaze, she noticed for the first time the bleeding Dahlian wolf, trapped in one of the coyote traps—had he fallen there himself, or had Haku put him there? Neither would have surprised the cloud-colored woman. Her gaze was drawn to the brilliant glow on Inferni's horizon, and wordlessly she looked back at Halo, questioning, wondering—what now?

Kaena too saw the dying wolf in the trap, and the questioning gaze let Halo find the answer. She turned away from the relative she loved and let the tip of the blade lightly trace up the man’s ribs. It settled on his chest, resting against the skin. For a moment the young woman was motionless. Ruby gaze traced the fresh injuries pumping whatever was left of blood out of the man. Haku Soul and his dying Dahlian had been alone. Could it be that the wolf leader was turning on his own now? Both hands supported the sword as she pushed it up and in between two ribs and into the male’s already faltering heart. She twisted the blade ruefully, though knew that it was unnecessary.
She drew the sword out in a smooth motion and started to clean it with a handful of dry grass, watching the fire rage towards Inferni. She looked over to her grandmother, copying the questioning glance that the older woman had offered her moments before. What now? OOC wrap-up: Kae and Halo went off to go and try to put the fire out and do other useful things! /anti-climactic |
