Zasha rarely stoped to rest while on the move. Once something came to mind, she always pressed forward. Normally it was night when she traveled. She liked the dark. The moon's light guiding her and her paws seemed to just go without her knowledge of direction. She liked that her huntign skills were put to test. The dark made it more dificult to see, so her sences was what she used most. Her brother had taught her how to home them to the best she could, still she couldnt compare to him. Sorrowed filled her. She should never have left him.

Now though, it was daylight. Her body welcomed soreness that started in her paws and the tighting of her leg muscles. It had been a long journey. One that would hopefully be rewarding. She did not know why she decided on Canada. The need to learn drove her to knew places. She loved learning about new packs customs and such. It all facinate her.

The wind russled her fur and the chill seeped into her bones. It wasn't uncomfortable, it was welcomed. She stuck her snout to the growned and caught the scent of a border. She had finally reached a destination. Not wanting to be rude she sat and waited. Someone would catch her scent and find her soon.

300+ words. Welcome! =D Sorry this is a little short.

This day was much the same as most were for the kingdom's dog mutt of a Constable, but he did not particularly mind the monotony of his actions day after day. There had not been, as far as he was aware, any news on the war that was present to the north. Until he got confirmation that the war had ended and that they did not need to be on their toes anymore, he would finally cease his near constant patrol and watch. Though Vigilante had decided to use his secui form for his patrolling, he had grown very fond of it, and was beginning to prefer it over his regular, unshifted form. He was larger than most, and though it was not his goal to be intimidating, he did like having a size advantage, especially when walking the borders or surrounding area, just incase. He had a mate and was raising her children with her; he was not willing to take any risks.

The shift in the wind's direction brought an unfamiliar scent, and as he considered himself to be educated in the scents of the pack's members (even if he did not know them personally), Vigilante knew this to be a new scent, one that did not belong to the pack. Since he was already so close, the Constable trotted in the direction of the scent, arriving before her shortly after setting off. Offering her a smile, the dog mutt nodded his head in greeting. "I am Vigilante Haskel, Constable of Cour des Miracles," he said, by way of formal introduction. While he knew that some found formalities to be a hassle or uncomfortable, even, this was not the case for him, as he had been raised to be very polite in that manner. It was simply how he was, and it did not bother him. "Are you new to the area?" Vigilante could only assume so, as she smelled very foreign. He felt, however, that simply asking if she wanted to join was a bit too forward and unprofessional.

((ooc: Thanks! I hope this is alright.))

Zasha sat patiently and waited. Now that she was no longer on the move, she could feel the effects of so much running in her paws and legs. She shifted them a little, trying to take pressure off of one. Mentally she pictured herself lying in the grass resting and basking in the sun. Ahh how refreshing. It made her feel the pain even more. She would lay down here while waiting, but she knew it would not be wise. Upon entering a new pack, she didn’t want to get caught at the borders sleeping. First impressions should always be done at the best of one’s abilities. Just trying to take pressure off of them a while would have to suffice for now.

She heard something and immediately her ears perked up. Standing on all fours she sniffed the air. Someone was coming. Thankfully she did not have to wait for too long. Relief swelled threw her. Hopefully soon she would get a drink of water and rest some. She had met many packs during her travels. Most had been friendly and accepted her in; where as some would snap and growl, making her scurry away. She hoped this pack was not the latter of the two.

Finally he came to view and came to rest in front of her. A smile was displayed showing no hostility, and she was very grateful for that. He even nodded in greeting. He was mannerly, and that was something she approved of. Some wolfs were not when meeting an outsider. It showed respect, to her at least, when meet on friendly terms.

Zasha bound her head and lower herself. “Yes I am. My name is Zasha Egorov. ” She made sure to sound friendly and have a smile of her own. “I wish to join your pack and enter your lands.” With all the different packs she had meant, it was hard for her to know exactly how one should stand when asking to join. Some wanted no need for submission while other wanted her gravel at their feet and whine. She tried a friendly, grateful, relaxed stance. Going from his attitude, she thought this was the best way.

300+ words. It's fine! =D

The pack that he had been born into had been one that put a great deal of importance on respect and proper hierarchy. He, especially, had been regarded as much higher than any ordinary pup would have been, and the same could be said for his sister. Not only had they been the children of the pack's alphas (though he had grown to realize that it had not been his parents that had led the pack, over time), but they had been born the objects of legend and were to be regarded as such. Perhaps he would still be as well-mannered as he was if he had been born to any other members of the pack. In such a case, he would not have been seen as anything spectacular. Vigilante would have been free to live as any ordinary puppy would, and he would have grown into any regular dog. Though, he did not know if he would have preferred that, truly.

Nodding as he took in the very small and far from elaborate bit of information that she gave him, he was not that surprised. It was very rare that someone would call from the borders if they were just visiting; there was, more often than not, more reason behind the summons. It was not very often that he responded to joiners, as they did not get new ones frequently. The pack seemed to remain at a stable size, though he would not mind, certainly, if they grew. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Zasha. Please, tell me a bit about yourself, and if you have any questions about the pack, I would be more than happy to answer them," said in turn, thinking back to his own time of joining. Jacquez had been much more carefree and loud than he imagined himself ever possibly being.

Even though Zasha has met many, there is always something exciting about meeting someone new. It makes her curiosity spike and brain go into over drive with questions popping from thin air. Of course she knew better than to start muttering question to no end. The best knowledge is learned from experience. This was something Zasha took to heart. She didn’t bombard everyone she meets with questions. It was also funner to learn than to ask. Many packs had different customs, to sit back and enjoy the learning process made all her travel worthwhile. There are many stories she could tell, but so many more she could learn.

Traveling delighted her. She loved the memories and close friendships it brought. She knew she would always have numerous places to stay and enjoyable company. It was also sad to her in a way. There was no pack she belonged to, no land she called home and no den for herself. She had no chance of finding a mate and having a litter of her own. It was something she wanted. She denied her fathers choosing of a mate not out of the fact she never wanted it for herself, but because she wasn’t ready. Now she was growing more to the idea.

That is why she has found herself her at the border of this territory. Zasha was hoping to find the land that calls to her and beckons her to stay. Coming up from her low stance se said, “I was born in Russia and am 3 years now. I have traveled for a year and seek a place to call home. I learned to read Russian young, but threw my travels I have learned to also read English.” Her Russian accent was not as prominent as she once was. She could remember the first time she noticed. It was a saddening thought, but then she reminded herself it was one thing that she had to show for her adventures. “I have no questions to ask that I couldn’t learn on my own. I don’t want to take up all of your time.” Still the friendly and relaxed smile lingered.

500+ words. Sorry for the wait. ._.;

Never had he imagined growing up to become a subleader of a pack across the country from the one that he had been born in, and he certainly had never expected to find happiness and a mate. His life had simply not been meant for those luxuries some knew, unfortunately. Vigilante had been raised a killer--a killer of evil, but still a killer, regardless. He never considered himself to be on the same level as those that he had sought out, though, for he never harmed the innocent and, with only one exception he had not been able to help (for no one had ever gone against the word of the Elders before), he refused to harm women and children. It had been his only rule, and it was one that he had always been incredibly adament about. Children were the innocent of the world; they epitomized all that was good, although he knew some were corrupted by bad parenting. Even they, though, did not deserve an end. Those children deserved peace in their lives.

When it came to women, however, he did not exactly know what his reasoning was. Chivalry had always been important to him, and he supposed this was a part of why he refused to target a woman. Though the Elders, as well as his parents, did not completely agree with this sentiment, they had allowed him to keep his vow to it. It had been his only rule: No women, and no kids. There had been no changing that, as far as he was concerned, and now that he had admitted to Ayita that he felt that he had to start again, it was a rule he was going to keep again. He had promised her that he would take his business a great distance from their home and the entire area, but he needed to continue. Vigilante did not know what it was that was pulling him to the need again, but it was there in the back of his mind. Now, however, there was a vital difference in the way he would be working again. He had a mate and a family, though they were not his own children. He wanted children of his own eventually. He'd found something solid to live and fight for in his family and his pack.

The Constable did not know where Russia was, but he had never been off this continent, having only come from the northern area between Alaska and Canada, so he nodded politely at her explanation. He knew very little about other countries and different languages, though he did know small bits of French, simply from listening to Ayita speak it, and a language that had sometimes come up in his birth pack. He did not know it, but the Irish language had occasionally been used back there, so he knew a tiny bit. "What can you offer Cour des Miracles, in exchange for a home?" he asked, another question he knew was important to ask.

Having as much experience as her traveling, there are wonderful perks that can add to a pack. Zasha has always thought knowledge was the key to life. It made it rich and joyous especially when experienced rather than heard. More times than she can count, she found herself in company of young pups seeking her stories. It always delighted her to see them excited over a tail. Many male pups wanted stories of fights she has seen and female pups wanted beauty, both sought to hear of the adventures. It always warmed her heart to hear them call for her wanting to be entertained. Who would not smile to know they are wanted.

So when asked what she would have to offer, memories would surface. Memories of day’s pups fell asleep listening to a story. Times when she would try to teach a pup to learn to read, and how frustration for the young, would end up with them playing a game she has taught. Not all of her memories were from the pups. Many adults would ask to hear tales of a place she had been. It surprised her how many wanted to travel but never would. They felt such an attachment to their packs they would never leave.

She never encouraged someone to go off on their own like she had. It can be dangerous if caught in a bad situation. If wars were being fought, one could find themselves having to pick a side. She had to do that one time. She hoped she never had to do that again. Wars brought suck sadness to the eyes of the packs. Joy seemed to have dissipated because everyone was on alert.

There was only one thing she had to offer. It was something she prized more than anything, the only thing that has made her life worth living beside her brother, was her wisdom. “I can offer knowledge of other countries, customs, and games for entertainment. I know how to read English and Russian, which I can teach. I have many wonderful stories I can share for everyone to enjoy."

Their meeting would be coming to a close soon, the doggish male was sure. There was not much left that they needed to do here. Vigilante saw no reason to turn her away from Cour des Miracles, and she gave a good answer about what she could contribute to the pack. Though they did not have many puppies at the moment, he believed that what she suggested could be useful for the adults, as well. Many of them had travelled before, and perhaps they could exchange stories with her. His experience with travelling was nothing of interest, though, and anything he would have to tell about before he came here was not something that he was willing to share with just anyone. It had taken him such a long time to even tell Ayita everything, and he doubted that there were many more he would even consider opening up to in that way. He was a fairly secretive man, he supposed, and it was likely to stay that way for the duration of his lifetime.

"Welcome to the pack," he said warmly, deciding that there was really nothing more for him to say other than that. There did not seem to be anything left to ask her, and now it was his turn to be questioned, if she had anything to ask. "I'm sure you will be ble to settle in just fine. Is there anything that you would like to know or to ask?" he inquired, as he was happy to answer anything she wanted to ask about. It was part of his duty as the pack's third-in-command, but more importantly, he wanted to be able to help new members as much as he could. Without new members, the pack would eventually die out, he supposed, and he did not want that. Helping new members acclimate to the pack was something he thought was very important.

Every time Zasha was welcomes to a pack she felt gratitude and appreciation. The feeling never eluded her. She thought that maybe it was best to feel that way. It showed how much she really let her heart open. Unlike her parents who never showed a single sign of emotion toward her. To her she thought they were cold wolfs. They saw themselves above the rest of the pack. The only emotion they ever gave was toward her brother he and did not really care much for them. Much like Zasha, he was kind hearted. He thought the best of everyone. Flaws were nothing he ever great lengths to point out, even in their parents. Zasha always envied him for that. Even though she had forgiven her parents for the cold shoulder, she still felt that prick of loneliness and empty part in her heart. The empty feeling only grew with his death, which she still to this day is working on healing.

When accepted into this pack, she felt the same amount of gratitude she had for the others. Only this time it was a bit different. She felt like she belonged more, maybe it was due to the need to stay here. She had not even seen this territory and hadn’t met anyone beside Viligant, and yet she still felt… connected in a sort of way. It was a feeling she had never felt before, even the pack she was born into.

“Thank you for the kindness. I greatly appreciate the acceptance and you kind nature. Believe it or not, some packs are not as welcoming or as friendly as you are.” Vigilante was a kind wolf and she hoped to get the opportunity to know him better. “I do not have any specific questions for you, but I will ask if there is anything I should know. Do you suggest a place I should see first, or maybe a pack member to speak with? I am looking forward to exploring this land.”

The kingdom that Jacquez had fashioned for himself was a bit different from most packs, Vigilante knew all too well. They were much more accepting than a lot of packs were, and things were significantly more relaxed in the pack's hierarchy and workings. It was something he preferred, considering his life before coming to this area. The pack had a great deal of opportunities available to its members and the pack itself promoted personal growth and happiness. The Constable enjoyed the lack of repression and force within the pack. There was no one there saying that they had to do anything, but it was not as if Jacquez was simply going to carry others along. Everyone was expected to pull their own weight in the pack, but they did not have to do anything that they did not wish to do. The members of the pack were allowed to make their own lives and to do whatever it was that they found important.

Vigilante knew that a good number of packs were not as accepting as the kingdom was, and that was something that he liked about the pack he had chosen to call home. He appreciated knowing that the pack was welcoming and that others thought so, as well. It meant that the leadership was doing something right. "I know that all too well," he responded with a knowing nod. "It is something that I rather like about our pack. There is nothing within the pack that I can think of that would be important to know of, though I believe that I should warn you that there is a war to the north currently. There is a clan of coyotes and a pack of wolves fighting. The war has not touched us here, and we have chosen to remain neutral," he added, implying that it would be safe for her here. He did leave out mention of Jacquez and Firefly being involved, as that was their personal business and it was not pack-related.

"We have an old hotel with many rooms available, as well as a coastal city filled with many empty houses, and I am sure that there are natural dens here, as well, and it should be no problem for you to find somewhere that you are comfortable living. The other two leaders of the pack are Jacquez Trouillefou and Ruri Aceline, if you happen to meet them soon," he added, unsure of how likely it was. He knew that he spent a good amount of his time patrolling the borders and the pack's territory, but he did not know how active the other two leaders were or if they needed to be sought out specifically. "We also have many friendly members, and I'm sure that you will find someone soon. I know that there is a very pleasant woman living in the hotel, Alaine Winters, if you were interested in living there. Otherwise, you could find Ayita Catori in the town, in a seagreen house, and you could find Heath by the stables, most likely. I know that Haven frequently patrols the borders on his horse, as well," he added, trying to give out names that he thought she was likely to come across when exploring the pack's territory.

((ooc: Ok I will wrap it up in this post.))

Zasha would have to admit she was a little surprised. She had not heard of a war taking place. It saddened her know of such a thing. So many lives would be lost, lives that should be treasured. She wondered what it was all for. How long had it been going on? Did he think it would come down here? IT was a good thing she not decided to go to those territories. That last thing she wanted to be involved in again was a war. Her mind faded back to the last one she saw. It was terrible. She had to decide between which of the two territories she was dedicated too. She just ended up saying no to both and leaving. She had been there for 2 weeks when it started. Well she could only hope she didn’t have to see such a thing again.

She tried to remember as many names as she could, but unfortunately she was a visual learner. She would have to meet eh said wolves to remember them. The hotel did sound interesting. She loved meeting new wolves so she decided she would more likely stay there. Of course she would check the dens out as well and she wanted to see the horses. She loved riding horses. In the American Mid-west she had riding many of them. It was while she was resting with an Indian based pack. She had to say it was there she favored most of all. Everyone was so very connected and depended greatly on each other. Every night they would have a fire and sit around it. Many of her stories were heard there, she also taught how to read English too many of them.

Her mind came back to focuses on the task at hand, even though her paws were sore and she craved much rest, she decided to look around a bit. Maybe while exploring her new home, she would find a nice spot to relax and soak up some sun.“Thank you Vigilante. You have been very kind. I will try and keep an eye out for those you mentioned.” She lowered her head in thanks and good bye.
