ooc: Private for Jazper, mah DADDEH DEAREST! Big Grin

Aro's tail wagged in endless excitement as he waited by the hillside, he couldn't wait to see what his dad had planned for them. His father only had told him they were going to spend time together today, and that he would teach Aro some lessons on fighting. Aro's curiousity was through the roof wondering what his father was going to teach him, was he going to train him on how to fight? Was he going to teach him how to hunt like an adult? Or how to be a good member of the pack? whatever it was Aro was ecstatic to be taught by his father, a wolf who in his eyes was one of the most influential role models he knew.

As he waited by the river, he could see himself in the reflection, his light blue eyes locking with the warped image in the water. It was obvious that he was beginning to shed the young puppy fur, beginning to get slightly larger than his puppy size and step into adoesence, but he was still young, weak, and inexperienced. Through dumb luck and shameless bravado Aro had ventured out into the wilds almost every day and had not gotten himself killed or even injured, much to the relief and amazment of his parents, not a scratch on him, save for still having the skunk smell linger on his from a whie ago. The smell had dimmed though, to an almost undetectable level, he still had the occasional whiff or two of the vile stench.

Not see his father yet, Aro had begun to get impatiant and rambunctious, he waas pacing, skipping rocks across the river, and it wasn't long before he had begun to explore the river with closer inspection. While the water was not running very fast, it was rather deep, the riverbed being visable, but not reachable. He could see in the water there were fish swimming against the light current in order to stay in one position, some even floating by his view. Getting more curious, he dipped a hand in to touch the fish, but the minute his hand his the water the scaley water-dwellers had vanished, swimming away from the large hand. Excitement gripped the boy slightly as he pulled his hand back out and waited for the fish to reuturn before he stuck his hand in. This time it was more of a swipe then a dip, trying to bat one of the fish out of the water. No such luck though, the fish were much faster and manuverable then he was in the water. But perhaps this is what he was going to learn today, maybe to learn how to fish. Only the appearance of his father could answer his ever growing repertoire of questions.

For the end of March, in human months of course, the weather was abnormally warm. The sun was high in the sky, birds were chirping, rabbits and chipmunks had already been spotted here and there eating away at vegetation within the territory. It appeared as though Spring had arrived! The winter seemed to drag on forever, not so much due to the snow, but because of the gray, dark sky and the cold damp air. The pups had filled the days inside playing and learning from their parents. Ghita had rested for a long time after the birth, it wasn't easy giving birth to such a large pup as Aro after all. As for himself, well he spent the time watching the pups, teaching them basic social skills, manners, respect and such things. On his free time he found the library to be a haven of sorts, away from the smaller rooms and the pack.

Today however, was an important day. Today he was going to teach Aro the basics of being a proper Knight. Every pup in his family had been taught hunting, fighting, the importance of helping and protection, for generations! They were the Knights of the wolf world when it was simple and all animals walked on four legs and the humans walked on two! Now, as the world advanced and changed, Jazper was the first to walk on two legs, his son and daughter next in line. He started towards the hill side, where the river passed through Crimson Dreams, in his large halfling form. The sheer mass of Jazper was usually enough to scare off most danger. His shoulders were set high and rolled the muscles around them as he walked, his thick winter coat was starting to shed reviling patched of the sleek jet black summer coat. The only color visible other then this perfect black was painted on his face, the same electric yellow as his eyes forming a sun around his left eye, the symbol of the mighty sun god his family idolized.

The distinct scent of his son put a smile on his face as he took his time getting to the top of the hill. Upon reaching the top the smile only grew into a goofy grin as his golden eyes spotted the young Marino with his head stuck in the water. Sitting down he chuckled to himself as he watched Aro's attempts at fishing. There was no denying their relation, when Jazper was a pup he had been an impatient, stubborn trouble maker. In fact, he was very selfish indeed until his parents passed away. At last he grew bored, Aro was now soaked with water. Raising to his paws he called out “Aro!” Running as fast as the large paws would take him he pushed his boy to the ground and started tickling him with his nose.

The sound of large paws raised Aro's head in confusion as he turned to the sound. His eyes widened in tiny terror to see the big black wolf barrelling towards him. Having no time to escape or sidestep the charge, as the wolf wasn't very well prepared, all he could do was brace himself for his father's tackle. When his dad did push him over, he was relieved to find out it was a light blow, a tiny push to the ground, but with still enough force that the little pup couldn't possibly keep himself on his feet, and ended up rolling onto his back. He let out a tiny giggle as he felt his father push him over and begin to tickle him, squirming and trying to protect himself from Jazper's ticklish onslaught, but to no avail. His father was bigger that he was, so he really didn't have any way to defend himself, and could only laugh and giggle while his father tickled away.

Once Jazper stopped, Aro immediatly got to his feet and swiped a tiny paw at his father's nose in mock anger. "Daaaaad!" he cried out as he then got into a pouncing position and lept at his father's side, only to then slide back to the ground and rolled around in the dirt. Now both wet and dusty, the little pup had gotten a little bit of adreniline through his system, and his father being present only made him even more excited. He was finally going to learn something from his father, but what? He decided it was about time he should ask. "So, what are we going to today dad? Are we gunna fight a mountain lion? Hunt a deer?" He was now jumping around his father, his tail wagging a mile a minute as he spoke. He anxiety was nearly killing the poor boy, he could no longer wait to see what he was doing with Jazper. Of course, doing anything with his father pretty much made his day.

The high pitched giggling was simply hysterical in Jazper's eyes, causing him to laugh along in a much lower pitch. He enjoyed spending time with his pups, he hardly let them out of sight in the past couple of months. Nor would they every truly be out of his protection, or so he believed. As far as Jazper was concerned time was stopped and the pups would stay pups for the rest of their lives. Even if, and when, they did grow into their paws he would hope they stuck around Crimson Dreams with himself and their mother.

Finally, he released the boy and sat back on his hind legs,a goofy smiled permanently painted on his face. Jazper was so incredibly proud of his son, his blood, his future. He was truly his father's son to the bone, literally when you compared size. It had not been until Jazper was in his teenage years that he had really begun to shoot up but Aro was a different story. From his birth he was always destined to be a giant like his father. Of course, personally the friendly giant hoped his son would not make the mistakes he did. Yes, Lucifer had been an ass, yes teenage years are meant for fun. However, he never planned on having three mates over the course of a year and getting two of those mates pregnant. Heck, Ghita was a mistake. Not that he thought of her that way now.

Looking at Aro pride swelled up inside the warriors heart. His mothers eyes, his fathers sleek jet black fur. Aro would grow into a handsome young male, the only problem was to teach him to be a proper Knight. “Well son, today I think is a very important day. You see when I was little my father took me aside and passed on the Knight Code to me.” Pausing he started a slow walk, motioning for his son to follow. “Every member off our family has had these duties passed on to them. My grandfathers grandfather was a Knight, as was my father, myself and yourself. All of us are connected through our namesake and our duties as a Knight.” At this moment Jazper felt rather old. He was not a couple years of age, very young for a wolf, a young adult still in his prime of life. Still, as he spoke to his son in a serious proud tone he was reminded of his father sharing the same words with him. The picture was practically identical, Large black wolf with young matching son. It seemed so long ago Ares had shared the Knight's duties to society. At the time the job had sounded full of glory and fun, not to say he did not enjoy knocking around a few bullies.

ooc: Oh man, I am so sorry I have been so late on this!

At first Aro didn't quite understand what his father telling him, most likely because he was distracted by a flower nearby, but after squishing it with his paw, his eyes widened in understanding. Finally! He was going to learn how to be a fighter and protector like his father, and inherit his father's skills. This was the most exciting thing to happen to him in weeks! Sure, all the adventuring and wandering around the territories was fun, but having the opportunity to learn from not only his father, but one of the greatest warriors around? This was Aro's real idea of fun.

Once he understood, his response was more than enthusiastic. His excited barks and yips were containable as he darted around his father in excitement. This lasted for about 30 seconds before the pup recomposed himself, forcing himself to sit in front of his father again, uttering things like "This is going to be so awesome! Thank's dad! I'm so excited!"

However, it then occurred to the pup that Jazper hadn't exactly elaborated on what exactly he was going to be taught, hwich only piqued his curiosity even more so than before, his tail wagging at what looked like a mile a minute. The little wolf shortly spoke up again, before crouching into a prowling stance. "So what are you going to teach me today? How to fight? How to patrol the boarders? How to slay a bear by myself?" Of course, he asked a few more things after that, but they just got progressively more ridiculous. <style>

Aro's excitement grew and grew while Jazper sat patiently, a grown man now. It hadn't been too long ago that Jazper was just like Aro. He remembered his first pack, he was a hell riser. He had stubbornly barked and howled with frustration as he paced the boarder of what was Jaded Shadows as a pup. Much like how Aro rambled on about fighting bears. “Bears!” The older male chuckled “Aro even I don't go around fighting bears. We leave them alone. It would be to dangerous. Besides, we don't eat bear. You only kill what you are going to eat or what is trying to eat you.” The last sentence was pushed more then the others, it was very important that Aro realized that regardless of how big he got he only killed if he had to.

Smiling down at his boy he chuckled, “Sit still boy!” It was going to be very difficult to teach his son anything if he kept up this craziness. “I'm going to share with you the guidelines of your ancestors but you need to sit still and listen with you ears.” He decided this would be easier if they made it much like their bed time stories. So naturally, the giant began to lay down, pushing the grass below him flat. “Now, let the story begin.” He started with a wink to his son.

“A long time ago in a far away land called Scotland, there were humans. Strange creatures that walked on two legs, spoke a confusing language, and had no fur except on top of their heads.” He ruffled the fur on top of Aro's head. “Now your great great great grandfather, Marcus, he was interested in these humans and found out about their history. Turns out a group called the Knights went around saving people and performing good deeds. Serving their king and queen, their pack. Protecting the children. Now, Marcus was so interested by these humans, so inspired, that he changed his last name to Knight. Thus starting the Knight blood line.” Jazper nodded his head as if confirming that he was telling the truth.

“Aro, for generations we have gone by Knight. Your grandfather Ares was a Knight too. He taught me everything I know. The Knight Code: Protect and Serve. You see son, being a Knight is not all about glory and winning the heart of the ladies. It'd about serving others and protecting them even when you're just as scared as they are. A true knight is bravest in the middle, not at the start of danger.” For years Jazper had been serving his 'queen'. He was loyal to the end when it came to Crimson Dreams and he would protect every member in the face of death. It was true that he was brave however, he had not been more afraid then the day Mati's life depended on how well he fought off that monster of a wolf or when he had to drag Ghita's broken body out of Old Red's remains. He was simply a wolf after all.
