A large black wolf padded up to the river, panting. He snapped at a fish in the water, not really trying to catch anything. He had eaten well a few days before; he wasn't hungry. His light green eyes surveyed the area around him, and decided it as good a place as any to stop for a break. Running did tend to be tiring, after all. He cleared an area to lay on with his back feet, and settled down to rest.

This looks like it might be a nice place to stay. I wonder if there's a pack nearby. Kaze decided to mull on that thought for a bit as he relaxed, and he let his mind drift. Back to memories of his sister, his family. He bowed his head in respect for them, before curling up. There must be a pack around here. Their scent is everywhere. He let out one long, drawn-out howl to let them know he was there, and then settled in to wait.

The world around her was awakening, the April rains bringing new life with the southern warm that crept across the ocean and onto the lands of 'Souls. Anu had risen early, her lupus form taking her to the borders. The clouds hung over head, speaking without words of the rain that had fallen and that was pending. Blue eyes, like pure clear water, looked upwards at the blanketed Sun and prayed for the rain to be plentiful and give the winter-dead earth all it needed. And yet at the same moment the Dreamer wished to feel the spring Sun's warmth on her face.

A silver and tan ear moved, turning behind her and drawing the female to turn from her current path. It called to her, and the Lt. General knew very well what it was that tickled her eardrums. The fur along her spine twitched, rising for a moment as she headed towards the direction of the sound that called and the scent that now lingered in the air. It did not take long for the second in command to find the dark male that lingered on their borders. Anu slowed her approach, relaxing her body and stepped a few paces closer with neutrality written across her lithe figure.

"Can I help you?" her soft voice asked, eyes dancing over him as she wondered what had brought him here.

Kaze glanced up at Anu and lowered his head respectfully. "I was hoping I could join your pack, actually," he told her when she asked if she could help him. He stood up, trying and failing to remain shorter than her. He sincerely hoped he would be permitted to join. He could only survive on his own for so long; even such a large wolf found hunting alone to be difficult.

Kaze was having a difficult time keeping his head lowered for Anu. He naturally didn't like showing submission, so the required respect was hard to keep up. He risked raising his head a bit to gauge her reaction.

Her movements were slow, keeping the distance between them friendly and spacious. It had not been her intention to startle him, and he seemed to notice her before she spoke. Cerulean eyes watched as the male rose, his bulk much larger then her own and yet he stood with a knowledgeable respect. Anu was not one to search for obedience or submission in those that she led. It was respect and loyalty that she searched for in a beast, for they did not just join the pack but the family that they formed. The Lt. General stood still as he spoke, forthright and with little ceremony. Anu didn't mind, but she did with to more of the male before giving access and rank to the raven furred wolf.

"Well," she began, her form showing no tension at the lifting of his crown in her presence. "this is Crimson Dreams, and I'm Anu, the Lt. General here." The introduction was said with a small nod of greeting, hoping that he would extend his own name. She would not assume that he had heard the rumors of war that raged to the north and east of her lands, his scent spoke that he had had not been lingering around either of the fighting packs. Anu, and her Commander, prided themselves of keeping peace within their borders. It provided a safe haven for any that wished to live without such a threat. "Where do you come from?" She asked, her voice neither stern nor soft with weakness.
