Post-dated for somewhere around the last week of April, after Kol's been killed by Hybrid. Dampwoods! <3

If everyone cared and nobody cried.

Inferni had shifted their borders. A curious white werewolf stood not far from the old southeastern boundary, now fading out of existence with the weathering wind. They were still here, but the borderline that used to mark this area was now vanishing. Bris knew that Dahlia had set fire to Inferni in retaliation for the one set on them, the one that had littered the snowy girl's form with tiny missing patches where her fur had singed as she'd fought it. It had been only weeks ago, and short stubble had only now begun to refill the little patches, giving her somewhat of pockmarked appearance. But the girl was not vain enough to truly care; they were the marks of one who'd done what she could for the sake of her pack. She'd only lost a bit of fur, it was her sister who'd lost far more.

Bris' mismatched eyes narrowed as she stared into what used to be the southeastern edge of Inferni. Losing her sister had been the biggest blow the yearling had ever felt, and her eyes burned with the desire to cry at every thought of her. Her white paw hands clenched tightly into fists at her side, so tightly that her claws dug shallow trails of blood into her palms. Kol had died protecting her from the monster, a monster the black-furred sister had apparently had a history with, and Bris had been helpless to save her. Kol's wish had been for her baby sister to live, to grow and be happy in a peaceful world, but it was clear that though the war was declared over, there was still violence and death abundant in the packlands of Souls.

For a moment, the logical part of Bris' mind spoke up in Kol's voice. What was she doing here? What did she hope to gain? She would die a meaningless death if she crossed the border, she should turn back and plan her revenge more thoroughly, or not take it at all. Death was a part of life, but Bris was unwilling to accept that Kol's killer was anything short of evil incarnate. The coyote clan could never be trusted, that much was more than apparent now. Kol had been seeking a peaceful visit with one of them, a red-eyed male called Anselm, when the monster had struck. It was clear to Bris now: Kol had been blind with misplaced faith. There was simply some blood that could never be untainted, like the side of her heritage which granted Bris her snowy pelt, and it was perfectly clear that Inferni was possessed of the same ilk. They were demons, the lot of them, and Bris would never forgive them.

Clenching her jaw, the young Stormbringer forced her more sensible voice down into the depths of her mind where she could no longer hear its whispers. The only murmurs that flooded her thoughts now spoke of revenge, spoke of cleansing the taint of Kol's killer from the earth so that he could never harm another soul. It didn't matter that Bris had never fought a serious battle in all of her life, and had only sparred half-heartedly with Kol and their brother Drey. It didn't matter that she was so young, and the monster with the red eyes so experienced. Bris had justice on her side, and in her innocent and naive mind, it would be enough. Her mind made up, the white yearling set one foot in front of the other, and deliberately crossed the old boundary into what was no longer Inferni land. If she kept in her direction, she was certain she'd eventually find the new border, and the monster hidden within. And she would destroy him.

If everyone loved and nobody lied.

OOC: Sorry for the shitty and short post. +3

As Imaginifer of Inferni, he was obligated to help with the border moving. He had to pick up the pikes and move them the day that they had announced that they were moving slightly to the east, which gave them part of the mountain within their new territory. To him, the border move wasn't that bad, simply because he didn't need to worry about moving his shit from his room and whatnot, because the mansion was still within the borders. Today started as any other day would, with checking the traps that he had set around the borders and just out side of the borders. He had ridden along on the back of his "undead" steed, Maschine. The appaloosa horse trotted along, his body bouncing both himself and his master as he trotted along. Cotl had his sword on his back, it sitting in it's sheath. He had been practicing when his hand hadn't been hurting too bad from when he had his little incident with his hand and the knife. It had long been scarred over by now though, though fresh enough to still be seen on his left hand on both sides. It almost looked like he was nailed to something like that one human. What did they call him again? Oh yeah, Jesus.

The Imaginifer had finally made his way to outside of the borders, where some of his hunting traps had been laid. Off in a distance, he saw something, and both of his audits perked forward. NYEH the male let the sound come from his throat and his neck twitched to the right for a moment before he gave a forceful nudge into the horse's side, which made the beast charge forward. The beast was coming at a high speed at the woman. She was getting awfully close to the new borders, and she was too big to be a coyote. Cotl caught her scent and noticed that it was Dahlian. The coy-dog gave a low growl as he let his audits lay flat against his head for a minute before the appaloosa came to a quick halt before the woman, sideways, in her path to block her off. Cotl held back a growl, but he let his eyes turn extremely cold, and his posture held confidence and power. You all should know better dhan to be dis close to Inferni. the male spoke to the woman, his audits still pressed back against his head, and rather...unfriendly look on his pierced maw.

Sorry for the lengthy wait hon! Life kicks my ass quite frequently. -.-

If everyone cared and nobody cried.

Of course she'd be spotted, Bris wasn't stupid enough to think that striding right into the territory would let her go unnoticed. The snows of winter that had once hidden her form so well had long since melted away with the spring thaw. Aside from that, she made no attempt at stealth. Bris may not have come looking to throw her life away, but she'd most certainly come looking for a fight or some sort of revenge. So when a large figure moved toward her in the distance, the Stormbringer wasn't surprised. At least she wasn't surprised until she registered that the form was far too large to be a simple luperci.

The white girl's eyes widened as the form came barreling straight for her. She'd seen a real horse only once before, and that was from a good distance away while passing near the lands of Aniwaya. The creatures fascinated her, but that awe was overshadowed by a sharp fear as the huge animal and its rider were now bearing down on the young girl. Her jaw clenched tight as she stood her ground, trying to stop her legs from shaking as she refused to let the fear take hold and fling her from the horse's path. Luckily for her, the rider had no intention of mowing her down, at least not yet anyway.

As the coyote and his mount pulled to an abrupt stop just in front of Bris, her eyes lingered on the horse's form rather than the stoic face of the clansman. It was a beautiful animal, an incredibly powerful form wrapped in a package of grace and spots. A thought echoed in the back of Bris' mind that at some point she desired very much to learn more about the large beasts. But now was not that time. The Infernian's no-nonsense voice grabbed Bris back to the present, and her mismatched eyes turned hard as ice as she returned his stare. "Where is the bastard who killed Kol? We were on a peaceful mission, in neutral territory, and he KILLED HER. WHERE IS HE?" Her voice seethed with a quiet anger; Bris refused to let it spiral out of control. It hadn't even dawned on her that the mounted figure who stood between the girl and her revenge probably had no idea what she was talking about. Hell, she didn't even know the murderer's name, only his ragged description. Logic wasn't exactly one of the yearling's strong points in her current state. If it were, the young Dahlian would realize that the coyote in front of her was the only thing standing between her and a senseless death at Hybrid's fangs.

OOC: Short, sorries.

Where is the bastard who killed Kol? We were on a peaceful mission, in neutral territory, and he KILLED HER. WHERE IS HE? the woman spoke to the German Infernian. Var ist Var. Get over it. the coy-dog growled, his shackles raising on his back. Beyond here ist death. Dat ist, if you could even get past mich. the rust male spat at the woman, his tone rough, his lip twitching, and his throat clearing after. It was senseless for this woman to try and get revenge for her fallen comrade. After all, You didn't really see any of the Infernians mourning over the lost souls that had lost their life in the line of duty. Then again, the Infernians sometimes seemed like they had no hearts, and also, the ones that did die, nobody knew them that well. Most of them weren't members for very long before they had died.

Vhy don't you just go home, little girl? the Imaginifer had asked the woman, his cold eyes on the woman, and his left hand almost ready to draw his sword. She obviously was here to fight, and if he let her pass, then she more than likely would go onto Inferni lands and then be attacked by six or seven angry yotes. The coy-dog figured that he was enough to deal with. He wouldn't let this little girl pass by him. No.

If everyone cared and nobody cried.

The coyote cut an imposing figure atop his mount. Without the horse, Bris was angry enough that she probably would have just lunged at him at the condescending "little girl" comment. But the undeniable power of the four-legged equine stopped her before she could act on her desire, and once more she tried to rein in her growing aggitation. It was only then that the smaller luperci's words registered with her. They were course and full of contempt to Bris' ear, and his strange accent made them all the more insulting.

"The var is over! It was over when he killed her. There was no reason for it. It's true what they say, you're all nothing but spineless, cowardly, rabid DOGS! The whole lot of you!" It was all she could do to hold back the tears of rage that brimmed behind her eyelids. She wouldn't cry, she couldn't cry, not in front of someone like him. Her hands balled into tightened fists as she glared at the mounted coyote, her lip turned upward in anger, just looking for any sort of excuse to make a move. The only thing stopping her thus far was that damned horse. Bris was emotional and full of hate, but she wasn't quite that blindly stupid. Not yet.

The var is over! It was over when he killed her. There was no reason for it. It's true what they say, you're all nothing but spineless, cowardly, rabid DOGS! The whole lot of you! the woman spoke, the anger growing, showing on her face quite clearly. Bi-colored orbs pinned on her, his own shackles raising lightly. She spoke of being a dog, and that's exactly what the male was, so he was offended by the way she was saying it. If ve vere cowardly, den ve vouldn't be able to kill you stupid volves the coy-dog growled. You see, Cotl had no problems with wolves, in fact, he had had sex with one at some point down the line, but, in this situation, the woman was asking for an insult. She had told him that they were dogs like it was a bad thing. He didn't like it.

Maschine nickered lightly, the stallion starting to get a little agitated himself. if he got too agitated then Cotl would have to jump off and fight this woman. The rust male shook his head and he growled at the woman. Dis ist your last chance. Go avay, or I'll deal vith -NYEH-you meinself. the coy-dog snarled, right hand held on to the handle of his blade that was slung on his back.

I seriously thought I'd replied to this a long time ago. =.= Hello Jas that's what the tracked topics thinger is for. =/

Bris' aggitation grew along with the hybrid's. Every fiber of her being shook with the desire to rip the male off the horse and spring headlong into Inferni in search of her nemesis. It was the threat of the huge animal's hooves that kept the white woman where she stood. There was no way in hell that stallion's kick could not break whatever bones in her body it came into contact with. She kept the horse in the peripheral of her vision, watching for any sudden movement its rider decided to evoke in it.

The girl's stomach turned at the heavily accented insult the strange male threw at her. To a rational mind, he may have had a point. To Bris' mind, the only reason they were able to claim the lives of so many wolves was because they fought dirty. She was about to force out a retort when the Infernian kept on going. His words seemed forced as his speech continued, and there was a very distinctive stop in the middle of his final sentence. It was nearly enough to snap the girl out of her anger and pique her curiosity, but not quite.

"You worthless shit-eaters only get the upper hand because you fight dirty. You have no sense of right and wrong, no sense of honor at all. You're all just specks of shit that clutter the land and waste the air the rest of us breathe. You see? You're too stupid to even get out a sentence properly. You filthy hybrids are a disease, nothing more! GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" Regardless of how worthlessly she viewed the entirety of Inferni, she wanted no more blood on her hands than that of her sister's killer, and so she still held herself back from attacking him outright. That damned horse was still the one advantage the mangy hybrid had. Mismatched eyes kept calculating any way around the mounted guardsman. There had to be a way to get past.

She did not back down, not yet. Cotl hated that. He hated that he was not big enough to scare the woman into fleeing. The rust male growled as he had drawn his sword from it's sheath. You worthless shit-eaters only get the upper hand because you fight dirty. You have no sense of right and wrong, no sense of honor at all. You're all just specks of shit that clutter the land and waste the air the rest of us breathe. You see? You're too stupid to even get out a sentence properly. You filthy hybrids are a disease, nothing more! GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" she had insulted him on his condition, and this was a big, big no-no. His nose wrinkled back, lips raising and his maw letting out a loud growl as he had quickly dismounted the equine and as soon as his ivory feet had hit the ground, he had let his hand do so for a second before launching forward to close the distance between the two. He held his sword ready to a side strike, aiming as high as he could on her chest.

I varned you, voman. he growled between clenched teeth as he swung his sword at the woman a few more times, just in case she had not been hit the first time. He had left himself open a few times for a strike to his ribcage, and chest, but these were expected to be vulnerable at certain times. The hybrid danced with his sword, in a fury to get her away from the packlands, or dead, whichever one came first. He wouldn't take chase to such a pathetic woman if she were to run away. No, he wouldn't waste his time with it. Not at all.

OOC: I'm soooo sorry for dragging this out J. My inspiration for fight threads has been nonexistent. >.< And this is really, really sucky. Sad *love*

He came at her in a flash of tawny fury. Bris' eyes widened a bit at his speed, but she spared a quick thank-you to whatever powers existed that he dismounted before attacking. The horse was a massive weapon in itself, easily being able to crush someone's skull in one fell kick. One smallish coyote with a weapon was a much more even match-up. Unfortunately for Bris, the male's weapon made all the difference. The Dahlian had never had to defend herself against anything other than claws and fangs, and the male's fluid motion caught her unprepared. Reacting to his attack rather than acting, Bris leapt backward, her arms reaching out for balance and failing to block the incoming swipe. The girl gritted her teeth as a bloody red line was drawn cleanly down across her ribs in the blade's wake, and she belatedly threw up her hands to block the next strike.

Bris' rage began to falter, her mind going into survival mode. Her own voice mixed with those of her brother and sister in absolute condemnation of her stupidity in coming to Inferni's borders, and she winced as the coyote's weapon sank into her defending palms. Blood stained her snowy coat a bright and angry crimson as she suddenly dug her feet into the ground. As the guard came in for another slash at her, the white woman dodged by the skin of her teeth, ducking low and lunging in to take a swipe at the male's torso. It was a sloppy move, at best, and she was aiming more to push him back away from her than to wound him seriously. She had no idea how far the male would chase her when she ran (it was amazing how clear your head could become when you realized just how deep the shit you were in really was), but if she could at least knock him off balance, it would take time for the male to get back to his feet. Bris knew it would only grant her a few extra milliseconds, but any advantage was a good thing.

Word Count: We could probably end this with your next post with her running away. He won't be following her none, he'd more than likely watch her run and then mount his horse and leave.

In Character

The two first strikes were successful, his blade successfully drawing through her beautiful white pelt, it would be drenched in blood when she left her, if she left here that was. If she continued to fight, then Cotl would be quick to keep at it and chop her down to nothing. He held no regard to species, he hated people all the same. Yote, wolf, dog, whatever. You tried to fuck with Cotl, you were going to get a nasty scorpion sting that would either be memorable, or kill you. You'd die by the bi-colored orbs of the male, or you're fear them for the rest of your life. He had seen the cut form across her chest, and a crooked smile fell on the lips of the demon as his eyes dilated at the sight. The smell of the iron-filled liquid would hit his nose, it made his hairs on the back of his neck raise. He would continue to fight against the woman, her hands coming out to block his blade, but the blade ending up slicing through the precious flesh of her hands. What a stupid cunt.

The strike out from the woman did, in fact catch the rust male off guard since he was more into the slashing of the sword that he held in his hands than paying attention to what she was doing. So when she struck out at him, she had successfully pushed him back, to where he would loose his balance and fall on his butt on the ground. It was like a bigger kid pushing down a smaller kid. It only made Cotl's anger to become stronger with what the woman's actions and words. He hated feeling like he was weaker, or stupider than anyone else, and he was determined to let these other wolves and other being know that he was no less intelligent or as strong as they were. His throat let out a loud rumble as he had put his hand to the ground, and pushed himself back up on his feet. He would then lunge at her yet again.

OOC: Sounds good to me hon!! And thank you so much for being so patient with my slowness! <3333

Bris had lunged at the male with all of strength, well aware that the move was bringing her dangerously close to that blade of his. Then again, it was a large blade, designed for slashing the enemy at length, and not for close combat like a dagger was. As she collided with him, she felt his body sway, his feet slipping beneath him, but she had no time to celebrate her success. The Dahlian broke contact with the coyote as he fell, pushing herself away from him and breaking away.

The woman's feet were set on the most direct course to Dahlia de Mai. Even as she cursed herself for taking a cowardly way out, she could feel the imagined approval of her siblings. She hated herself for running away, but it was clear that she hadn't been thinking straight when she'd come here to kill Hybrid. As she concentrated on getting far from the Inferni borders as quickly as could, she felt her rage finally begin to ebb away. She fought back tears as the emotion was replaced by the sharp and painful sting of grief, filling her soul until her rage drowned in her unshed tears. Bris had been wrong; she didn't truly want to kill Kol's murderer in cold blood, what she wanted was even simpler. She wanted her sister back, and as she ran, her heart bled with the knowledge that it could never be.
