Private for Tubur

Peace and war and all of the in between. But they were immune, or so they wished to think. Her life touched those that had been at war, and with no word of its ending Anu still worried greatly about those that lived in both the battling packs. She hadn’t remained immune for very long, though within the Dreaming land’s heart they felt nothing of the feud between wolf and coyote, Anu felt a heavy tie to the coyote’s leader and she thought of him often. But not today, not this moment. The blue-eyed female knelt on the ground, knees sunken in the soft earth that was still moist from rain showers a few days past and plucked weeds.

It was a tedious job, and though the infesting plants were small it took nimble fingers to pull each one from the brown plant bed that sat beside the Manor’s porch steps. Anu had made it last year, her Horticultural skill coming into play with the landscape around the pack’s home. The blue-eyed female had hoped to decorate the house’s entrance, maybe she would plant something blue for all that entered to see. She had thought that she might have help this coming season, but it seemed that she would be on her own once again. Nothing she wasn’t used to.

The weeds poked through the soil’s surface, their small green leaves searching for air and sunlight. Anu did not enjoy taking their life, pulling their entire root structure from the nutritious dirt, but they would kill the flowers she wished to plant if she did not. An infestation would be inevitable if she did not work to rid the flowerbed of them now. A life for a life, the Dreamer figured as she placed the thin green-stemmed body into the basket with the rest. They were all become compost, far beyond her garden.

The sun over head was shining brightly on to the moist earth below. The sun was a good break from the rain that had hit in the days past. It's not that Tubur didn't like the rain, it just that it got old after a while. The rain was, however, the giver of life and without it where would we be? More then likely laying lifeless in a hole somewhere or not being here at all, so who was he to complain about the rain. He stretched and continued walking towards the mansion where he would spend hopefully the rest of his life living. He hadn't really explored the place or chosen his room but he planed to as soon as he could.

When he finally broke from the woods into the clearing in front of the house he spotted female crouched on the ground who seemed to be pulling up weeds. She looked like the opposite of himself with her white and sandy coat and ice blue eyes and his black coat and light brown eyes. He hadn't seen her before but then again he had only seen the leader of the pack, who had been the one that allow him to join the pack. He stretched again and begin walking towards the she-wolf who was about three yards away.

When he reached her he noticed just what she was doing. She was picking weeds and putting them into a basket so whatever she was planning on planting would grow without being disturbed by the weeds. He didn't know why, though, she was putting them into a basket instead of just throwing them to the side like most would have done. Maybe, there was some secret to gardening that involved doing something to the weeds instead of throwing them aside like he would have done.

Her light toned hands were covered with the dark earth, and she dug around one of the larger weeds. It was a bit useless, for after the next bit of rain there would be another lot of green weeds popping up and she would be back to pluck them up once more. It was a pleasant hobby, and now a co-rank that she had earned. Anu took it fairly seriously, though there were many things that she knew would always come first. Her family, the two adoptive children that still lived within her borders, the pack as a whole. Then after all of that she could think about the small little flowers that she planted and cared for.

The female heard a bit a noise behind her, and she paused for a moment. The scent of him told her a lot; it was unfamiliar and had only a hit of the Dreaming fragrance that they all wore. The lithe fey turned her head to see the newcomer behind her. Blue eyes looked him over, a small smile on her face. Turning slightly the female rose from her crouch and stood to her full height. “Hello.” She spoke with a soft and warm voice as she brushed the loose soil from her claws hands. The questions that rolled through her head were numerous. But the Lt General merely watched the dark coated male, remembering his features as well as his scent as she did so.

Tubur watched the light colored she-wolf dig around a large weed letting his mind wander back to his family. A few memories poped up in his head sending pain into his heart and soul. He would mostly lickly never get over the lose of his family and the memories would always be in the back of his mind waiting for there chance to strick and send pain back into his heart once again. He sometimes wished that the memories would just go away btu then he would have nothing to hang on to, would he?

Thats when he noticed the she-wolf had paused most likely hearing or smelling him. He hoped that he hadn't startled her or that she didn't think he was a intruder since he had only been in the pack for a short time now and didn't have much of the packs scent on him but he watched as she turned her head around holding a small smile on her face as she searched him over. He then watched as she turned slightly and stood up from her crouch in to her full height. He studied her as she talked taking in her scent and appearence. He know she would more then likely have many questions for him and that she would hold most of them back and hope that he would answer for them without her asking so thats what he was going to do. " Hello" He started letting a smile spread across his face "My name is Tubur Rayk and I have recently joined this pack. Lets just say I come from a pack that had broken up." He said in a polite voice.

It was not often that they gained a new member. Their family had just grown, with the addition of Savina and Kansas' new litter but to have a new face was something just as special. Anu had joined in such a way many seasons ago, leaving Phoenix Valley to join a mate and live with the family that they raised together. To the others of the pack she had been a stranger, and they had embraced her quickly and warmly. Now, she had risen to the position of second in command and lead beside her closest friend. It wasn't always an easy time, as most transitions aren't easy at all. But Anu wished to make the others settlement as easy as possible while in her presence.

I'm Anu. She responded, her smile still present. It was sad to hear that his past pack had disbanded, and it was more then obvious that it was not something that he wished to speak about. Anu trusted Savina's choice completely (as her scent still lingered lightly on his pelt) and knew that she had asked all the question that needed to be known about who he was and what he was capable of bringing to the Dreaming lands. Thus, Anu did not prod deeper into the darkness of his memories. Well welcome Tubur, I'm glad you've decided to stay with us. The soft hearted female spoke with an honest and genuine tone, Anu believed in only speaking the truth.

Have you settled in alright? She questioned with a slight curious cock of her head.

A soft, spring breeze blew through the forest ruffling Tuburs dark fur as he glanced up towards the mansion. It was so big, so massive and it looked like it could hold more then the pack. He was sure he would find a room somewhere in there but getting around it was going to be a little more difficult. It would more then likely take quiet a while for him to find his way around the house that he would be living in for, hopefully, the rest of his life. He studied the house for another second and then turned his gaze back towards the light colored she-wolf.

She then started talking, stating her name was Anu. That was an unusual name wasn't it but, of course, his name was too. He didn't mind unusual names because they usually made things a little more interesting unless, of course, no one could pronounce them. Then they just made everything more complicated and the simpler the better, right. Tubur stood there waiting for her to hammer him with questions but all she did was welcome him saying that she was happy that he had come and stayed with them. If he hadn't come here where would he go? Another pack or maybe he would roam by himself for the rest of his life. He then noticed again just how happy he was not to be roaming by himself out in the world somewhere and instead safe in a pack talking to another one of his kind. He then again waited for her to start asking questions but instead she only asked one that focused on his well being not his past. He hadn't really gotten settled in yet, in fact, he hadn't even been in the house yet." In fact, I haven't settled in yet" He said” I haven't even been in the house".

She watched his face as his eyes looked upwards and behind her. Living within Haven Manor had been a odd thing for her to do after she had lived in earthen dens her entire life. Even when others would live in a house with the rest of the pack Anu had lived alone and in a dug out hole. But here, she couldn't see herself living beyond the reach of her pack mates. She didn't mind the room she stayed in either, it was simple and tidied easily. A bed was also nice to have, though sleeping on something so soft had taken some getting used to.

You haven't? she asked with a broadening smile. Anu turned to look at the Manor herself and then glanced back at the male. I guess it can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you never lived in a building before. It was new to me when I first came here She explained, understanding in her eyes and tone. The small light wolfess took a step of two towards the stairs that led up to the house's porch. I could show you around. Anu offered. It would be less intimidating perhaps.

Before his old pack had split up he had lived in a cave close to the other pack members who mostly lived in caves around him. He enjoyed being close to his other pack members but the cave could feel rather small at times, only being able to house him and a few of his belongings. It may be a nice change to live in the mansion. He would get more living space and he would be living with his new pack mates but it also liook like it would be easy to get lost in a place like that, with all the rooms and halls.

He looked back at the manor again as she did studing the massive building and then turned his gaze back to Anu who, was now talking. A bit overwhelming? It looked like it counined a maze of rooms, halls, ect. Then again once you got inside it could be perfectly fine once you get inside but he was very doutful that that would be the case. He then watched as she took a few steps towards the houseand then offered to show him around the manor. Being shown around would help the getting around problem and may help him find a room that would suit him. He also took a step forward towards the house that he would be living in. " I would like it if you showed he around the manor" He said sounding like a gentleman as best he could.

She lead the male up the stairs and onto the porch. The door handle to the main entrance was easy for their shifted forms, but could take a bit of practice before mastering it in Lupus. Anu turned it, opening them both up to the sights, sounds and smells of the large old house. The main living space was to their right, a fire place included. It had not been lit since the warming of the season but was almost always in use on winter nights. The kitchen is here, the wood stove is pretty much the only thing that works. Anu pointed to the left were the kitchen lay. If he needed water he would have to tote it, but it never seemed to be a problem for any one really. They slept beneath the roof but still lived as they needed to beyond it's walls. Hunting and feasting happened more often then not where the kill had fallen.

The female watched his face, giving him plenty of time to take in the large rooms and the dim lighting in the hallway. Their main source would always be the natural raze that filtered in through the windows, but candles could be found if need be. Anu had considered a bee colony, and still worked towards gathering the supplies to build it. The honey as well as the wax would be a nice asset to their pack. The stair case sat in the middle of the Manor's layout, and Anu stood in front of it. You can stay anywhere that hasn't been claimed yet, upstairs or down. The library and rooms like it are open to everyone. But there are plenty of bedrooms. Anu lived on the second floor, though her daughter Mat claimed the sunroom as her home, the large windows allowing as much light as possible for her art work. The Lt. General waiting with patience for him to decide, up or down.

Tuber looked back up at the big house as Anu walked up the stairs and then on to the porch. Was this the normal size for a house or did this pass standered? Since he had never seen a house before, well exept for the small one back in his birth pack but it was more like a shed then a house, he couldn't answer the question himself. Mabey he would ask someone later, but right now he needed to go into the house.

He sighed and then followed Anu up the stairs, him getting on the porch just as she opened the door reviling a old looking house lite by the sun shineing through the window and the small fire in the fire place. The fire place looked like it was in a common room of sorts haveing chairs that they could sit in and mabey enjoy the warm heat of the fire on a cool summer evening. On the opposite side of the house there was a kitchen complete with a wood stove.

He looked around the room taking letting it soak in that he would be living here for the rest of his life if he was lucky. He turned towards the stairs as Anu stood in front of it talking about the rooms and gave him two chocies, up or down. If he choose up he would have a good view ,but if, for example, they were attack, which he hoped wouldn't happen in a long time, it would take him longer to get down the stairs and outside were he was needed for the fight. If he choose down he would be closer to a outside door if something were to happen and he would be closer to the ground just like he liked it.

He looked up the stairs doing some last minute thinking and then looked at his Lt. General. "Nice place you have here" He said with a smile " I have never been in a house before just caves and I think I would rather keep my feet close to the ground."

Silently Anu read the looks that came to the dark male’s face. He was hard to decipher, and she wondered what he was thinking. Instead of questioning or thinking too hard on the subject she tried her best to explain the rooms and show him around properly. It was likely that he was foreign to all things left by the humans. Anu had come from a family that simply did not know about the humans, in this sort of way. They were legendary hunters, ones that had been feared when they reined over the world. The cities and the humanized wolves she had met had changed her opinion of them greatly.

When he spoke Anu smiled. She liked the way he thought, and gave a nod. It was a wise choice, for one that was so unused to living under a roof. That’s understandable. She spoke with a bright voice. There was plenty of space on each floor of the Manor, she thought as she walked a few steps away from the stairs. Savina stays down here, with her new litter. And I stay up the stairs and to the left. Anu explained, incase he ever needed either one of them for anything. It was probably best to let Savi rest with the new pups, but she figured he would naturally understand that.

I know it an be hard to settle down in a new place, but I assure you we’ve friendly. The wolfess commented with short soft smile. If he had any questions she hoped that he would ask, or any problems as well.

How much Tubur's mom would have loved this house. She had always wanted to live in a big house with her family, but Tubur's dad didn't believe in the ways of the humans so she had picked to stay with him in a cave instead of going off to find a house and live in it all by herself. Tubur didn't understand why his dad didn't like the ways of the humans. They seemed to make life easier but mabey that was just it. Mabey Tubur's dad thought living easy was like forgeting what it was like to be a wolf, but times were different now and different times called for a change. Not a huge change just a little one just to make life a little easier for everyone. Tubur would never get to explain this to his dad though, never try to change his mind about the humans because his dad had run of into the woods during the fight back at Tubur's birth pack and Tubur hadn't seen him again. A sharp knife hit Tuburs heart, he would more then likely never get to see any of his family again and he hadn't even gotten to chance to say good bye. Tubur quickly straightened up wiping away with sad expression. He didn't want to bother his new Lt. General with his problems when she had the weight of the pack on her shoulders.

He watched as she took a few steps away from the stairs and then explained where her and Savina could be found in the house if there were to be any problems. He was sure that while Savina rested up with her pups Anu would want him to come to her so that Sivina could get a well deserved rest without anyone bothering her.

Tubur listined as Anu finished talking and then looked around the room spotting a hall way that countinued futher into the house and hopefully lead to some open rooms that Tubur could possibly claim as his own. " Is this the hall that leads to the rooms" Tubur asked " or is there another one that leads to them."

Anu extended her hands toward the hallway that led to the longest stretch of rooms on the first floor. This way, she spoke with a pleasant tone. The doors that were left ajar were typically the ones that had no owner, and free to any that liked them. Most were sparse, though many had one or windows and could be brightened up and decorated within it was always based on one's taste. It was all up to him where he would stay and how he would live. They were peaceful creatures, and lived by a solid set of rules. But they were short, moral based and not hard to abide by. Beyond the general, treat other how you wished to be treated, they dictated little.

Do you have a specialty, Tubur? She asked as they walked slowly down the hallway. Hunting, scouting. We have a few that are teachers, another is a carpenter, my daughter is the packs Nanny. Se explained a bit further. Everyone had their rank, part of any pack hierarchy. But some took on an extra role, using talents or skills that they wished to expand upon and use to help the pack. Maybe something you enjoy? she pondered aloud. Her own was based on her love for flowers and trees.

Tubur followed Anu down the hallway taking note of the open doors that clearly lead to rooms that had yet to be claimed.
He looked in one as they walked by it and found a larger room with one window that looked out at the forest, a large bed with a worn, old red blanket, and a large light colored dreeser. He thought about stoping to get a closer look at the room and mabey even pick it to be his, but he decided he didn't need anything big and fancy, just a room big enough for a bed and something that could hold the things he may find in his new home, so he kept walking.

A few seconds later Anu begain to talk asking him what he had specialty. He had to take a moment to think about this question. He had been on a spy mission once and had ewally been ggod at it, but he didn't see how he could use that to help his pack unless they got in a war at one point, which he hoped would didn't happen for a long time. He had been one of the main hunters in his birthpack for a short while before his leader had gone craze, and he had really enjoyed it. The adrelin ruse right before we took jumped out and ran towards your prey was addicting.

He speed up his pace so that he walked beside Anu making it so that they could hear each other better when they talked. " I have quiet a bit of experince in the art of spying and I am very good when it comes to hunting and was even chossen as one of the main hunters before my pack split up" He said as they came to another open door.

sorry for the wait. :]

Anu had always believed that everyone was good at something. If they thought differently then they had simply yet to figure out what it was that they excelled at. Her love for plants, and flowers and trees had been instilled in her at an early age. Her father was the same way and had an even larger green thumb then she. Anu had learned everything she knew from his teachings. Nothing that humans had left helped her, for Anu could not read and had little desire to learn. She liked keeping her sire’s teachings alive in the gardens that she tended.

The pair walked along, her blue eyes watched his face to see if he was finding any of the rooms suitable to his taste. There was a pause, but it didn’t seem to be perfect for him, and thus they continued on.

Her ears turned at the sound of his voice, and she nodded lightly. They were skills that any pack could use. In the times of pack conflicts it was important to have someone with the courage to venture off in search of information. Of course they were peaceful beasts, and tensions were far and few but Anu could see how his seemingly tactical understandings could be put to good use. We always need skilled hunters to organize pack hunts, a lead hunter is called a Courser here. Anu pointed out with a small smile. It would be nice to have a few wolves that could organize hunts and make sure that the pack was always fed and happy.

Gathering information on other packs is important too, though at times its easier to be more diplomatic then sneaky about it. Anu explained, taking the word spy and envisioning a silent stalker.
