Big Grin! 300+

Haven hadn't left the house much after his fight with the loner that had attacked Princess. Alaine had tended to his wounds, but pain still throbbed throughout his body if he moved around too much. His girl had been wonderful in taking care of him in the aftermath though. Knowing what had almost happened to her, and seeing now how she looked after him made his love for her grow even more when he thought that impossible. Things between them may not have started in the way he had always imagined, but now that hardly seemed to matter. He loved her, and she loved him, and that was all that truly mattered. Princess was everything he had always wanted. Even after he had been such an idiot not too long ago, she had stayed by his side and he knew that he never wanted to be without her.

That morning he had decided to make his first big trip out of the house. He had told her that he was going to the stables, but in fact he was intending to go to Halifax. There were two reasons for not telling her his actual destination. One, he knew that she wouldn't have wanted him to go so far when he was still recovering. Second, he didn't want her asking what he needed to go to the city for. Haven wanted it to be a surprise and that was the only reason for his small deception. The Knight didn't relish the thought of riding Drogon, but it would take him too long to make the trip on foot. He would simply have to handle the discomfort. The mustang could sense his friend's pain, and so he kept his gait and pace easy to keep from jostling Haven around more than was necessary. Hopefully once they got to the city he would be able to find what he looked for quickly and they could return home.

Evening was falling by the time the horse and rider returned. Haven had quickly put Drogon back in his stall and headed towards the house, the item he had found tucked away in one of his pockets. The Aatte didn't enter the house though, but walked past it towards the beach. He had found a couple torches as well and he stuck them in the sand and lit them; he wanted tonight to be special. Once he had the area as he wanted it he walked back to the house with the first stars of the night twinkling overhead. The Knight knocked gently at the door, butterflies fluttering excitedly in his stomach.

Princess had done nothing after Haven had left, unable to do anything without worrying that something might happen to him again. Haven's injured state had left her worrying for him, even when he was home and she was able to watch over him and take care of him. It had almost seemed like a good idea to protest his leaving or to insist that she accompany him, but Princess did not want to be overbearing and stress him out at all. She wanted him to heal completely, and while over-working his healing body would not do, she also knew that it would be counterproductive to stress him unnecessarily. So she had not protested his leaving, but she had certainly worried about him enough all day that she had not been able to do anything productive with herself. For the majority of the day, she had been sitting on the couch, attempting to immerse herself into one of the books she'd brought with her when moving in.

The knock at the door drew her attention quickly, and Princess looked quizzically at the door. She was not expecting anyone and she doubted Haven would have been gone all day if he had been waiting for anyone to visit. Walking to the door, her thoughts turned to the worst: something had happened to Haven while he was out—one of his injuries reopened and got worse, or another stranger had threatened someone—and now this was someone here to tell her what had happened to him. Quickly pushing away those thoughts with a sharp shake of her head, Princess opened the door, surprise registering on her face as she realized it had been Haven knocking on his own door. What was he doing that for? Though she had told herself not to think along those lines, she could not help but look him over quickly to make sure he had not been hurt more or anything like that. "Is everything okay, Haven?" she asked, the confusion she was feeling fairly evident in her pretty features.

Haven knew that she would view him knocking on their own door as strange, but he hadn't wanted to simply enter the house like this was any other night. This wasn't just any night and he wasn't going to go about things in the regular way. He knew that she had probably been fussing over him in her mind all day, but now he would show her that nothing had happened and things were perfectly fine. More than fine in fact, or at least he hoped so. When she opened the door and looked him over, confusion written on her pretty face he only smiled at her. "Yes, everything's just fine," he assured her. The Knight extended a hand out to her. "There's something I want to show you." Once she took his outreached hand he interlaced his fingers with her's and stepped off the small porch to lead her down to the little spot on the beach he had put together.

The light from the two torches flickered in the distance and he lead her, his princess, over between them. The torches weren't the only thing there though. He had found some nearby wildflowers and picked them, scattering them about on the sand. Their soft fragrances mixed with the warm sea breeze, creating a very pleasant atmosphere between the two lights he had put up. The ocean lay before them, the waves lapping gently at the shore, the rhythmic sound of the sea soothing and pleasant. Haven knew that it wasn't much, but he hoped his little additions added to the already constant beauty of the shore and the twinkling blanket of the sky above was enough to make her happy.

The Knight stopped once they were standing between the light from the torches, his bright eyes turning to look at her. He hoped to see wonder on her face, or something akin to it. Not that he thought she wouldn't appreciate his efforts, but he wanted to know that he had done a good job. This sort of thing wasn't exactly his specialty but he hoped he had done an adequate job of creating a nice, romantic atmosphere.

A breath of relief escaped, and she could not hold it in. Princess had been worried for him all day, though she knew that she would eventually need to allow him to leave the house without her worrying so ridiculously for him. Haven was healing well, and she could not keep him at home forever. He had duties to the pack, Drogon, and himself—not just her. Even knowing all of that, though, did nothing to hinder her concern for him while he was away. Haven's assurances that everything was fine was all she needed, but she did find it very curious that he would knock on the door to his own house. Obviously, he had his own reasons, but she was at a loss for what they might possibly be. Princess took his hand, looking at him quizzically as he led her to the beach so close to their home, relishing the feeling of his strong hand over her smaller and more delicate one.

Princess was very glad that he had not instructed her to close her eyes or anything of the sort, because she was not particularly good with surprises. Her curiousity always got the better of her and she preferred to know everything, rather than to have something sprung on her unexpectedly. That did not mean surprises were bad, or that she hated them, of course. Princess took in the sight of where he had led her to, the soft light from the torches surrounding them and the flowers beneath their feet. "Haven, it's so beautiful," she breathed. She looked up at him curiously, golden eyes searching for the green she had conme to love so much, looking for some sort of explanation for all of the trouble, it seemed, he had gone to for something still so unknown to the Chance woman.

He could sense her curiosity and confusion, but it would all be cleared up soon. Haven wouldn't be able to hold this "surprise" in much longer or he might burst. He couldn't wait to ask her what he wanted to, but he also could not wait to hear what her answer would be. The Aatte had not made this decision lightly and he hoped that she wanted what he wanted. Haven had no reason to think that Princess didn't want this, but he wasn't one hundred percent certain either. Only hearing it from her lips would confirm or deny anything. Mostly he believed though that she would want this, he hadn't allowed himself to think of the other possibility, which could have been a mistake considering he wouldn't know what to do if she said no. The Knight wasn't letting himself think negatively though. This had to be what she wanted, it just had to. He didn't want to think that it could be any other way.

Haven's smile broadened as she said that the area was beautiful. It was nice to know that all this work hadn't been for naught. The stage he had set though was very minimal compared to what it was set for. Her beautiful golden eyes searched his face once again and he turned to face her completely, his unoccupied hand reaching for her free one, taking hold of it. "Princess, I love you. With all my heart. I know we've had some rough patches, and one not too long ago, but none of that has ever changed the way I feel about you. What happened the other day...it only reminded me how important you are to me and how I don't know if I could go on without you." Haven had practiced the words in his head, wanting to make sure that he said exactly what he wanted to.

Slowly Haven lowered himself down to one knee, his eyes still locked with her's. "I don't ever want to be without you Princess, and so there is something I need to ask you." One of his hands retreated from her's and fished the diamond ring out of his pocket. He held it up to her, showing her the sparkling gem, and then with one last push of confidence he asked, "Will you be my mate?"

Time seemed to slow down immensely as he spoke, dropping to one knee before her. This should have all been easy to understand for her, as Princess had always been a fan of reading, and that did include a number of romance novels; she had seen this scene in written form so many times. Still though, being put directly into the image was different, and she did not understand until he finally asked her. It was something she had thought about before, but she had not wanted to breach that gap. Their relationship had started off being very delicate and unorthodox, and even after moving in with him, she had been nervous to do or say anything that would change things. For Haven to do it when he was ready, though, was completely different, and she had imagined him doing this for quite some time now.

Lips parted into a smile, her eyes brimming with happy tears. "Yes, Haven," she said softly, gripping his hand tightly. She had not imagined him going to such lengths with this, no matter how often she had wondered if and when it would happen. "I love you," she said, lowering her head some to gently kiss him, the height difference not terribly drastic because of their vastly different heights. "I love you so much." She could not imagine loving someone as much as she loved him, and she knew that those feelings were returned. It felt so amazing to be so loved, and by someone as wonderful as the Miracles Knight. In all of her life, she had not expected to find someone as amazing as her lover, and it still felt almost surreal. This was truly happening; they would be together forever, the perfect fairytale. Princess could not picture anything but that for them now, forever.

Haven had always dreamed of this moment, of finding his princess and proposing that they be together forever. No matter how many times he had pictured it though, the woman's face had always been blurry and undefined. It was only recently that it had solidified and he saw Princess before him and he knew that she was the one he had always been looking for. If he had had any lingering feelings for Siobhan, which he did not believe he did, they were completely gone now. There was only room in his heart for one person, and that person was Princess Chance. Perhaps things hadn't started as he had imagined they would. He had not been quite as honorable as he always strove to be, but he couldn't worry about that now. They were together now, and the how and why didn't matter. All that mattered was her, and making sure he was there for her for the rest of their lives.

The Knight held his breath as he awaited her reply, but thankfully he did not have to wait long. She smiled, bright as the sun, and her eyes shimmered behind the unshed tears. And she said yes. It was a good thing he was sitting, because he found feel his legs turn to jelly with relief and joy at her affirmative answer. He could feel a small amount of moisture gather at the corners of his own eyes. All his fears had been proved groundless and he had never felt such elation before. She bent down to kiss him and their lips touched, as if sealing the newly made bond between them. "I love you too. More than I can possibly ever say with words alone. But I hope that I can always show you, for the rest of our lives." Forever, he thought. Smiling so much it almost hurt, he gently took her hand and slipped the ring over her finger. Haven admired the look of it upon her slender hand for a moment before looking back to her. "Do...do you like it? I wasn't sure, but I wanted it to be a surprise..." If she didn't he wouldn't be upset, but he had wanted to get her something.

Princess could not imagine a time in her life when she had been this happy. She had thought that she could not be happier when she had realized she loved him, and then again when she had moved here to be with him. Both times could not even measure up to this moment in her mind. Nothing in her life could even come close to comparing, she knew. This was the best moment of her life, by far, and she could not imagine sharing it with anyone other than Haven. The orange-furred Knight had become her rock in life, that steady being she could count on to love and be loved in return. Now, it was official, and nothing could possibly make this moment any better for the young woman. Haven had made everything perfect for this moment, and no matter what bumps they'd endured in their relationship thus far... None of that mattered now.

She was beaming, unable to control the mystified smile that had formed upon his asking. Princess held out her hand between them, marvelling at the ring she had not even realized was for her; the moment had been so much for her that her mind had skipped over the dazzling ring. Now she studied it, fresh tears welling up behind the initial ones. "Haven, it's beautiful," she breathed, surprised by its presence. Even in her wildest dreams of how this moment would go, she had not been expecting to be presented with such a beautiful ring. The young woman squeazed both of Haven's hands in her own, leaning down to kiss him again. She did not think that words would ever be able to express how she felt in that moment, but she hoped that her actions would show him everything that she was feeling.

There had been few moments in his life that had passed with such a deep sense of amazement and fulfillment. The first he could remember was when he had been made a Knight. It had been the thing he had always wanted, always dreamed of. It had meant more to him than he could have ever said, but even that paled in comparison to this. Not to say that moment wasn't important, but this meant so much more. It wasn't just for him, it was for the both of them. He had just asked the girl before him to spend her life with him. To be with him through thick and thin, no matter what life through into their path. He had never been more certain of a decision in his life. He'd never known anything so deeply, to the very core of his being. This he knew. Haven knew that he would love her until his dying days.

The young man watched as his new mate looked over what he had given her, hoping so dearly that she would approve of it. Even if she hated it he couldn't be hurt, not after what they had just agreed to, but he did hope that he had found her something nice. Something that she would like and wear and treasure. If she did like it, he hoped whenever she looked at it she would think of him, of this night, of the love that they shared. Princess' praise of the ring, if possible, made his heart soar even higher. "Oh good. I'm glad you like it. I was really hoping you would," he said, smile turning self conscious for a second. Haven squeezed her hands back and their lips connected once more. One of his hands left her grasp to circle around her small waist, bringing her closer to him.

This was SUCH a failwait. x.x

Princess had imagined this moment, but this was so much better than her mind could have created in all of her dreams. Haven was perfect; he knew just how to make her feel amazing. He made her feel beautiful and intelligent, loved and cherished. She had gotten so lucky in finding someone so fantastic as him, and she wanted to spend every day of the rest of her life with him. "It's beautiful," she said, smiling as her lips met his, her body pulled closer to him. It was not just the ring that she was speaking of, but the entire night. It was so very obvious that he had gone to a great deal of trouble to set this up ever so perfectly, and it was beautiful. Everything was beautiful to her now, and their life together... She could see now that it would be beautiful forever.

The young Chance woman pulled her lips away from his, though she hated to break the contact with him. "You've just made me the happiest girl alive," she said softly, fingers tracing small swirls over his arm and shoulder. She wanted him to know just how wonderful he made her feel. They were perfect together. Any past problems were forgotten, hardly of any importance. They had made it past any issues they had faced together already, and they always would.

I still ♥ you! Should he carry her back to the house all traditional like? 300+

He could see in her eyes that all his work and planning had paid off. That he had done the right things to make this night special for her. That was what he wanted. He wanted to take her breath away and make her see all over again that he would always do whatever he could to make her happy. She had become so important to him, the most important person in his life, the one he woke up each day for. No one had ever really treated her right before, and that was a crime. Haven couldn't make up for all the wrongs that had been done to her before, but he could work for the rest of their lives to make sure that she was loved and cherished as she had always deserved to be. No one would ever treat her badly again, not with him around.

His face followed as she pulled her lips away and it was a struggle to stop his search for them and listen, but he did. The Knight breathed in deeply, her words filling him up. They were the confirmation that he was doing all it was that he strove to do for her. "And you've made me the happiest man," he said with just as much feeling. Past demons had haunted him, but they were all gone now. The Aatte knew that she would never do anything to harm him or jeopardize their relationship. In one fluid motion his arms scooped her up and he stood holding her, one arm behind her shoulders and the other behind her knees. Jade eyes looked down into her golden pools with all the love he held in his heart for her. He leaned down to taste her lips again, unable to get enough of them. They tasted sweeter than ever.

Yes, absolutely! And I've been on absence, like, half the month. xD; So I'm sorry, again, for the wait. But I have a reason this time!

Princess was excited to start their new life together as mates. She wanted to show the world how much she loved him, cherished the man that had gone through so much trouble to make this moment perfect and special for her. This was probably the first time in her (admittedly short) life that someone had spent so much time focusing on what would make her happy. The young Chance woman felt so loved in a way that she had never felt before. Her Knight was perfect for her, so much more than she could have ever wanted in a mate.

She squealed with delight as he picked her up, cradling her in his strong arms. Princess looped her delicate arms around his neck, holding herself closer to him as their lips met again. The young woman did not know what they would do now, but that did not matter. She felt as though she could stay in this one spot and kiss him for the rest of eternity. Their love was all in the world that was important.
