All welcome.

He sat near the bank of the frozen river, simply enjoying the serenity the early morning offered. It seemed strange that this prince of destruction took pleasure in seeing the sun's first rays, hearing the birds sing their first morning songs. This was how he preferred to start his days, watching natrue go through the motions as he savored the rush that the first cigarette of the day gave him. The sun's first rays were only just reaching across the horizon, pushing away the darkness of the night, of the past.

Jajuka leaned casually against an old tree, bag at his side, cigarette resting at his lips. He exhaled the smoke with a content sigh, eyes scouring the surroundings. After spending so much time lost within the endless fog of Clouded Tears, the clarity here was a pleasant surprise. Flicking the ash from the cigarette, he turned his attention to the mostly frozen river. A small chuckle escaped his lips; the old creek had nothing on this.

Hello there :]

Thunk. Thunk. Thunk. The werewolf paused for a moment to put the axe down, looking at the damage she'd caused. Hmm. Not too bad. A few more well aimed whacks and she'd have enough bark. She lifted it up, then back down again, letting the sharp blade slide down the length of the tree. The outer bark was good, but rather dry...she needed some of the softer, inner bark for her new medicines. She had found that the inner bark made a much stronger herbal tea.

Naniko put the tool down and picked up a small knife, starting to dig at the tree. The bark would grow back, with time, and winter was nearly over. Soon enough the outer bark would be falling off, and then it would be too late. She needed the inner bark while it was still a bit wet, before it was exposed to the outside world.

Thunk. Thunk. Thunk.

Hello. =]

Finished smoking, the blond Luperci now sat idly by, leaning against the ancient tree and enjoying the bits of sunrise visible through the clouds. Imaging what a great day lie ahead of him, Jajuka smiled and--Thunk. Thunk. Thunk. The smile immediately turned into a frown as he sent a glare in the general direction of the noise. What was it? Who thought it would be a good idea to make such a racket on a beautiful morning like this? As the noises continued to pierce the air, he decided he’d find out.

Irritated, Jajuka stood, grabbed his bag, and followed the sound into the woods. A quick bit of searching with his oh-so-fantastic tracking skills led him to find a white werewolf hacking away at a tree with an axe. The steady dull beating continued, still just as annoying as it was before. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he burst out, an ear flicking in agitation.

The only beings that she really liked being around were pups nowadays; she just wasn't comfortable around adults. Most of them weren't friendly anyway, not like the many pups that she had run into over the last couple of weeks. She had a schedule with a few of them, like Beppe and Kansas, teaching them how to read English. Once they were able to shift, she would teach them how to write as well, in print and cursive.

The words that rang through the forest made her pause in her work before she finished, taking one final whack at the tree. She turned to look at him, putting her hands on her hips and leaning the axe against the tree. "What business is it of yours?" She demanded in return. "I don't see how my being here is hurting you any." He smelled of Clouded Tears, but faintly. A new member?
