Lotus yawned as he slipped from the den. His curiosity hadn’t ceased to stop growing. But then again he was still experiencing everything for the first time in his life. The warmer weather had made him rouse later than he previously had. Instead of being up at the crack of dawn as he had during the winter months the sun had made its debut before he made his way out. He was used to frozen ground instead of soft earth. Used to the flurries of snow instead of greenery. He had to say that he missed the winter while everyone was excited for the spring time and then into the summer months. It wasn’t as if he was against the changing of seasons but he just didn’t understand why there weren’t more that missed the weather where Lotus could blend in with the world around him.

The pup took to wandering as per usual. He still hadn’t managed to make it everywhere yet but he knew enough about the area right around the den. He had to on those days that his Mommy didn’t want him heading too far away. But he was growing, learning to hunt, slipping ever closer to being considered an adult rather than a pup. His Mommy had promised him that soon he would learn to walk like she did. That was a day that he couldn’t wait for. He felt that at that point he would be able to do more. He would be like everyone else and be able to help out like others did. And maybe then everyone would quit confusing him for being a boy. That was one thing he really couldn’t understand. Where was everyone getting the idea that he was male? Couldn’t they see he was female?

Lotus moved off in an aimless direction as he usually did. There was never a plan for the day. Instead he headed to wherever his paws wished to take him. This time they led him to the Working Fields. But more importantly than that he found this well… thing. But inside the thing were large animals. Little did he know that he found the stable where the work horses were kept. “Wow, you are really big. How did you get so big?” The boy found himself talking to the horses and awaiting an answer he wouldn’t get. He had never seen these beasts before and had no idea what they were. “Can you walk like my Mommy can?” From what he could see it didn’t look like it. They were standing on four legs just like he was.

He frowned when he wasn’t getting a response and headed out and over to the next structure that he had seen. There weren’t any animals in this place. Instead there seemed to be plants instead. “Why aren’t these in the ground? Can’t grow in here.” He spoke aloud to no one in general. But as far as he knew he was alone in the area. Lotus gathered up a mouthful of the plants to take them outside of the storage shed so that they could go back into the ground. He had no idea that they had been picked and placed in there to be used later, for when they were needed. The idea that they had gotten up and walked in there made more sense then someone else plucking them from the ground and placing them in there.

Lili had been up early, she decided that she could have a good day of being with the horses. She’d headed to the barn, and put feed in their stalls, then started brushing and cleaning them. The horses worked hard, they should get tender care. And that’s what they did get, she could tell even before she came they were well taken care of. By who, she never saw many wolves in or around them too often. Maybe they were night people or she just came in at the wrong time. She decided she came at the wrong time or it was left all to her now that she was up every morning tending to them. Mostly the work horses she did see the ones with owners taking care of their own maybe they did share that job for a while, well she didn’t ponder on it too much soon it was late morning and she heard little paws padding into the stalls. Then she heard a pup speaking up at the animals, she decided to be quiet, thinking the pup thought he was alone. And soon heard him padding out again in no time. She didn’t smell or see or hear his mother anywhere so she figured it would be a good idea to follow the pup.

She found him leaving a shed with a mouth full of herbs, and she smiled, waiting to see what would happen. He was probably trying to place back something someone had cut already to make it grow, so cute. She loved pups, she wasn’t awkward around them at all they were just tiny wolves. Although they didn’t understand as much or anything but that was only a small hurtle in her mind. She watched the pup put the plants back in their “proper” place, and smiled

I think they picked them because they are ripe.

She said breaking the silence and his inability to see or know she was there. He was a cute little thing, she rarely saw white wolves but then again, she use to be a loner. Her mother was a Belgian shepherd while her father was a pure grey wolf. They mixed together and got Lili, quite a tall young wolf mix. She wasn’t disappointed or anything in her heritage like some wolves said she should be, a breed was a breed it all mattered how you lived your life.

OOC: 336 words; Sorry, in the middle of moving and having to work too

He liked animals. He just didn’t have much experience with them. But then again he didn’t have much experience with anything at all. He was young and so that was his excuse. Practically everything he experienced was done for the first time. So of course he didn’t exactly understand most things. He just lived his life one day at a time. He did what he thought was right until he was taught differently. Like he always saw plants in the ground. That was how they got bigger. So he didn’t understand why these weren’t in the ground. How were they going to get bigger if they weren’t in the ground? They couldn’t, could they? He didn’t see how it was possible.

It was while he was in the middle of trying to stand the plants back up in the ground that he got his answer as to why they weren’t in the ground. It wasn’t an answer that he understood exactly. The plants were released from his mouth to lay on the ground. “Someone meant to take them out of the ground?” He still didn’t exactly understand why someone would wish to do something like that. Why wouldn’t they want them to get even bigger? “It won’t grow more out of the ground.” And that was pretty much where his knowledge left off. He didn’t understand that if you didn’t pick it when it was ripe that it would just end up dieing. He didn’t even know what the plants were used for. But what he did understand was that the plants had to go back. So he picked them up into his mouth again and carried them into the storage shed to place them back where he had gotten them from. If it was done on purpose then he had to put it back where he found it or else he may end up in trouble. And he certainly didn’t want to be in trouble. He didn’t want his Mommy to be upset with him.

WC: 335 OOC: if I got anything wrong just let me know, and fully understand get that moving done, the thread’ll be here Big Grin

She smiled sweetly as the young pup was trying to figure out the ways of the world, she could understand why he thought they needed to be in the ground and she figured, she would help him with his slight mistake.

No it won’t grow in the ground, but if they didn’t pick it now the plant would not be of use to those who have need of it, it will die and then they won’t have that plant, some things like grass will grow and grow, but other things, well they tend to have only a short time before withering

She explain softly to the cub, letting her tone make sure to tell him, he was not in trouble at all and she would keep his accidental mishap to herself. She followed him as he picked up the plants and put them back where he found them, she then looked around, it was a place for herbs and spices, and she noticed a spot where there were dried seeds and suddenly had an idea, she wasn’t a huge green thumb but she certainly knew how to plant seeds.

I have an idea, young one, I’ll show you what can go in the ground, and it will be just as green as the picked plants you found!

She said, looking at the pile of dried seeds ready for planting, she really hoped that she was allowed to do this, well she would at least take full blame, she was the new wolf and hopefully little Lotus wouldn’t be blamed if anyone were to come in and see some seeds were missing. There were a few slightly big, but no bigger than a nail’s back. She picked a few from each pile and bent down to show the pup.

and I promise, you won’t be in any trouble, now see these? These are seeds. They grow up just like any other plant, they just need some soil sunlight and water want to help me plant them?

Lotus was still learning the ways of the world. He didn’t know the way all things worked. He was still learning. He was eager to learn at that. He didn’t even mind that he had been told that he was wrong. At least now he knew better and wasn’t likely to do it again. The plants had been picked for a reason and he understood that now. He had even been given the exact reason as to why the plants had to come out of the ground. They weren’t going to get any bigger than what they were right now. So they had to be taken while they were big. It didn’t exactly make sense to him. It lived out of the ground and if left in the ground it would die. But it had to start in the ground to live in the first place. He got it but he just didn’t understand the exact mechanics of it. It didn’t matter though. He now knew that once some plants, or these plants in particular, got big then they had to be taken out of the ground in order to be used.

“My name is Lotus.” He said in response to being called young one. He wasn’t upset about it though. It wasn’t her fault that she didn’t know his name when he hadn’t given it to her at the time. But now she had it to use. As he had spoken he had glanced back to look at her. The plants were left with the others just like the ones that he had found. “What is it!?” The excited question spilled forth from his mouth as he turned around to fully face the older wolf now that the plants were back in their right place. He was curious and eager to help. It would be another thing to prove to his Mommy that he was growing up to be a big girl. It would also end up turn out being a help to the tribe if done properly.

Lotus stretched out his neck to see the seeds that the other had picked up. He wasn’t exactly certain what they were used for. At least not until he was told. Still he didn’t see how something so small turned into something so big. He took her word for it though. “Okay!” He grinned happily and wagged his tail in eagerness. “What do we do first?” He had never planted anything before so he was completely uncertain of the first step. Still he was eager to be allowed to help out. It sounded like fun anyways. And it would be something to help everyone else. He would be a part in giving back to the tribe. What greater reward was there? It could even be considered to be following in his Mom’s footsteps. She might not be a medic or healer or anything dealing with plants but she still helped the tribe. After all the young lad wanted to be just like his Mommy. He wanted to make her proud of him. Maybe make his Daddy proud of him too so that he will come back home to live with his Mommy and him. That certainly would be a great accomplishment.

OOC: sorry bout the wait I had this halfway posted before I had to pack up and leave XD

Lotus seemed quite happy to learn something new and he didn’t seemed too ashamed about what he did, which was ok because it wasn’t like he hurt anyone, only got a few plants dirty. Liliana smiled at him when he spoke his name , knowing she’d hate it if she was told she was something she didn’t want to be, and at that age, young wasn’t it.

Good to meet you Lotus, that’s a handsome name I’m Liliana, Lili to my friends.

She showed him the seeds, and what they looked like.

I’m not familiar with what seeds are what but I’m sure we’ll find out eventually. They will grow up just like you do, and will make things that

she said after showing him the seeds and standing back up. She walked out of the enclosure, back to where Lotus had been “planting” the herbs that had been picked. Well hopefully there weren’t seeds there already, she knelt down thinking Lotus might find it fun to dig in the dirt a little

well first thing we do is dig a small hole and we put a seed or two in the hole.

She said motioning for Lotus to do the digging part.
