The Fog is Lifted

Her attempt at an escape had indeed proved futile, for as the blind collie girl swam away her mate had turned and lunged after her, his hand playfully grasping for hers to pull her back into his arms. So, as she found herself being quickly, but gently, captured Ruri could not help but laugh her lips curved in a playful smile. "Okay, you caught me. You win...here's your prize," she giggled, before leaning into the kiss that he was readying for her. Their lips locked and Ruri did her best to make it one of the most passionate kisses they had ever shared. The warmth from their affectionate contact managed to cut through her chilled, wet fur and warm her from within, though it was evident that it was now far too cold to be swimming. Once their kiss was finished Ruri would make a suggestion that they head home.

Sure enough, after what seemed like a most pleasant forever Ruri came up for a breath, loosing her lips from those of her mate. "I-I th-think we should head home. It's getting chilly," she suggested, her lips just starting to quiver from the cold. With her shoulders and head held out of the water Ruri's tiny form was experiencing the chill air only partially, but for such a slender form as hers it did not take long for her temperature to drop. Their night of fun wasn't over yet, for at home there were many things to do that Ruri was already planning out, most of them involving close personal contact. However, the first thing would be preparing their evening meal. Beneath her chilly exterior, Ruri's stomach was starting to rumble in hopes that it would finally be getting some food to digest. For the many days of her depression, Ruri had abstained from almost all food, so her body was in dire need of nourishment. If the Dauphine had her way she would be doing her part tonight to consume much of the food in their home. She certainly needed it.

He smiled, lips wrapped wide across his face as his heart thumped away with the excitement and the feeling of love he held for the woman that he wished to hold. Her laughter brought a bought of it from his own chest. His mate moved close, drifting back towards him as she gave into his advances. He would have pleaded, if she made him, but his movements were gentle as he wished to neither hurt her or force her is she hoped to continue their game of chase. Her words brought his head forward, anticipating the kiss that she was eager to give him. A wet black arm wrapped itself around her, holding her against him tightly. Their legs worked to keep them above water, and Heath leaned back to allow her to rest on him.

Their lips broke, the contact prolonged and tasting sweet from the affection and salty from the ocean’s water. How about a fire, and something to eat? The sun had fallen, the air holding a northern chill and Heath felt the shiver that run through his love’s frail body. The male began to paddle his way towards the shore, his arm still wrapped around her waist. Once their paws touched onto the muddy ground Heath whistled for the stallion that waited beyond the dunes. Stark’s head rose over a rounded pile of sand and then made his way over to the pair as they came up put of the water.

Heath kissed her cheek playfully, holding her tightly against him. She was shivering, and though he was cold he knew that she would always be far colder. Lets get home He spoke in a hushed tone and called for Stark once again with a click of tongue. Heath knew that she had not eaten for days at the very least, and he had hunted again and again in the hopes that she would eat. And just as he had before, he had hunted again and it would be waiting for them at home.

He led the blind collie to the horse, and helped her mount Stark before taking a seat up behind her. His body leaned into her, arm wrapped around her to shield his mate against the evening’s cold.

Not sure I like this post, but I wanted to keep the thread going. They're so cute together X3

The slender woman did her best to fight the shivers that were coming on, but she was met with little success. Fortunately for her, her mate had detected her chill and was already swimming with her towards the shore. "Th-that sounds great," she chattered in reply, milky blue eyes directed towards Heath's face. He always knew just what to say, and even though Ruri had been thinking the same thing it sounded much more enjoyable when he suggested it. It would no doubt take her a little while to dry off, with all of her long, feathery fur holding so much water especially her mane. Once home she might go so far as to shift to her lupus form to dry off. She would have to think about it, though.

It wasn't long before she and Heath were headed home astride Stark's back. One soft-furred white hand held Heath's arm as it wrapped around her, while another reached to stroke Stark's neck. The ride home was almost better than the ride to the beach, despite the cold wind on their wet fur. The delicate Dauphine was tired but not at all ready to go to sleep yet. She would be willing to stay up as long as it took to enjoy the evening. If that meant staying awake until she collapsed in bed then she was more than ready for it. She owed it to Heath to make up for what she had denied him these past few weeks, and more importantly she wanted to show him how important he was to her. She doubted she would ever be depressed again with Heath around. That was a promise she made to herself to make Heath the top thing in her life and nothing would change that. She refused to ever let something take her away from him ever again and she wanted to prove it to him tonight.

tralalalala xD

He urged Stark on faster then normal, and the pale horse was confused at first and faltered. The coy-wolf used his heels to get the stallion moving at the pace he wished, looking to get home as quickly as possible. His jeans were left at the beach, likely gone for good and heath felt the cold on his body. If he was chilled she would be twice fold, and he needed to get her home and by a fire. The large horse moved with a surprising grace to any onlookers, might they be feathered of small mammal creatures. Other then that the two headed home in relative silence, alone in their own small world.

The chimes of the bells were heard before his honey hued eyes took in the sight of their house. He remembered each time he had met her before joining the pack. He remembered the time he had found her beside the house, lost in herself and crying uncontrollably. He remembered putting the bells in the trees; he remembered her smiling then, hugging him. Heath wandered slightly into those memories, days where he had yet to decide if he would dedicate his life to this female. He was glad that he had stumbled upon her then, glad that everything that had happened had. Of course Heath had not wished that her heart had been broken by the only father that she had ever known, but without him none of Heath’s happiness would have ever been possible. As happy as Heath was to know that the collie-king was gone for good part of him needed to thank him for bringing Ruri to this place and into his life.

It did not take them long to get into the house, an arm wrapped around her waist the entire fairly-short journey. A large hand opened the door, and they found trapped warm air from the long day’s heath lingering inside the cabin. Here, put this on Heath spoke as he took the blanket that was folded on the back of the couch and placed it on her shoulders. The male then moved to the fire place, leaving her side to start the fire that they both needed.

Ruri :] 2

The ride home was quick, far quicker than Stark's normal pace. However, Ruri did not even think of protesting Heath's haste, for her whole body was now shivering. Yet despite the chill of cold wind on her wet fur, the collie girl was sure that the swim was well worth it. Besides, they would be getting home in no time at all anyway and she would not be cold for very long. Half-folded ears perked to the sounds of the bells surrounding their home and a smile graced her quivering lips as the chill wind sent the tones of their porch windchimes drifting to them as they rode up to the front door. With one movement, or so it seemed to the petite lautari, she and Heath dismounted and were at the front porch. The door was opened followed by a rush of warm, air as the couple rushed inside. Her shivering stopped, but she still felt cold, that was until her mate wrapped a blanket around her and directed her to the couch. "Thank's, darling, I appreciate it," she replied with a smile of gratitude as she plopped herself on the couch, leaving Heath to start the fire. She knew it would not take long for the house to warm up again, or for her to warm up. The fire would be dual purpose as always and Ruri was already contemplating the food she would be cooking. What sort of meat was in the house? She knew Heath always kept fresh food around. It was merely a matter of what it was and how she wanted to prepare it.

The merle and ivory woman felt something move next to her and knew immediately that the third member of their little family had just hopped up to greet her. Sure enough, Soleil was rubbing against Ruri as she sat their wrapped in the blanket. He had been asleep for the majority of the time his owners were gone, and now he was awake and ready for affection, which Ruri was more than happy to give him. Gently as always, the collie fae reached her hand over to stroke the Maine Coon's long, tabby fur eliciting purr after purr from the young feline. Though not quite an adult yet, the large kitten was almost near the end of his growth spurt. All that would be left would be for him to add on some bulk to his lanky body and he would be one, large and in charge cat, intimidating on the outside and more loveable than a teddy bear on the inside. As Ruri pet and stroked Soleil, his bright green gaze was focused on Heath as he worked to get the fire roaring again. That meant, his favorite sleeping spot would soon be warmed and ready for him and he would be more than ready to enjoy it. After all, his masters were home and he had nothing more to concern himself with.

made you something here.

He had wanted to do something for her for some time. Of course he had attempted to make her a meal in the past weeks, but she had refused to eat. Even her refusals had been heartfelt and kind, and Heath had been nothing but understanding because of her always gentle approach. But now that she was awake from the daze he could not help but move quickly and with purpose to shred the pelt from the kill he had made that day; the other uneaten carcasses had been tossed to the birds after each day she refused to eat. Heath had not starved himself, but eaten little in those days as well. Now, his stomach was grumbling right along with his mate’s. The skin was nothing for his bare claws, and in moments the meat was prepped, roughly but still furless and editable.

Returning to the fire, Heath kneeled to the floor as he placed it on the spit and then turned to find Ruri and their kitten snuggled on the couch. The fire at his back crackled and spoke of its awakening. He poked at it, watching her rather then the flames. In their swimming games and quick retreat back home Heath had forgotten briefly how much he missed her. It had been like they were living in different world, different times. Though they had touched, his embraces hoping to bring her out of that depression he had not really felt her. The kisses from the chase and catch they had played were merely teasing for the male, a shadow of the true passion that he knew boiled beneath both their pelts.

Sitting beside the fire, the meal that they wished to share roasting, its scent filling the room quickly and Heath noticed that his moth watered for something else.
Amour,
He spoke, a slight question hanging on the tip of his tongue. He had never called another by that name, never known its meaning until meeting her, until she taught it to her. His voice was thick as he stood and reached for her hand. Come sit by the fire. He wanted her close. Heath tried to never be selfish, not in regards of his mate. He might keep the better tack for himself at the stables, and train Lumière and Stark more often then the others, for his own benefit. He tried never to place himself before her. But for the moment, he asked her to sit with him to satisfy the yearning for the contact that he had been denied for too long.

Love them!!

For a moment as Ruri sat petting her cat, she realized how much she had missed during her days of depression. For a moment, an ache of regret threatened to creep into her soul, but it was soon quelled by her feelings of gratitude. Her mate had stuck by her despite her lack of movement, her lack of affection. How lucky was she? The answer was simple, the luckiest woman in the world. As Heath returned with the meat in hand, spitting it and placing it over the flames, Ruri's stomach began to grumble again, it's protests finally reaching her brain. She was starving, and she was going to get to share her first meal in weeks with the man she loved. As he spoke the loving name he gave to her, her half-folded ears perked and she almost instinctively knew what he wanted before he even asked. As he extended his hand, she reached for it, allowing his muscular fingers to wrap around her delicate hand. "Of course, my love," she replied, leaving the blanket with Soleil on the couch. The fire and her mate would give her all the warmth she needed.

In front of the fire, the petite fey leaned against her mate, her head resting on his shoulder. Oh how she had missed this, and she was sure he had missed it as well, "I'm sorry I was gone for so long. I missed you," she whispered, nuzzling the coy-wolf affectionately. Tonight, she was all his, and he hers, just the way it should be. She'd never let such an emotional breakdown come between them again. Nothing was worth losing such a connection as the one she and Heath had.

The hot flames roasted the meat quickly, and it was not long before Ruri's sensitive nose detected the smell of the finished meal. Almost immediately, her mouth started watering, though she did her best to hide it. It was not very lady-like, after all, to sit there licking one's lips. She'd wait until Heath was ready to eat, then she'd eat with him.

end here?

Ruri accepted his pleading invitation and came to nestled against him, her soft fur touched his and a warming sensation ran through him and settled in his core. Heath looked down at her face, a mirror of contentment settled heavily on his own. His black hued hand held her more delicate white, the contrast no match for the feeling of completeness and soft buzzing electricity that flowed between them. His other reached to hold her body, a silent thank you for heading his plea to join him by the fire.

Soft words came to his ears, and he opened his eyes hardly noticing that he had shut them. His head leaned towards her’s. She need not apologize, for the male knew well how sorry she truly was and felt it unnecessary. They were together, and she had returned to him and such a thing was all the male could ask for. Nothing else would matter, as long as she was happy. He was glad that he had been the one to pull her from the unhappiness that she had succumbed to, but in the end in didn’t matter how it happened but that she had been able to come back to him. I missed you too he responded with the same level of hushed tone. The minutes ticked along as the two were silent in their much needed embrace.

The fire spoke behind them, eating the wood that Heath had put in the fireplace and heating the rabbit that he had stuck onto the spit. He could almost feel the vibration of her grumbling stomach, and Heath would not make her wait any longer. Squeezing her tight Heath let her go and moved to retrieve the food that he had cooked. Just the day before his world had been so dark, and just as she had brought a light to his existence when they had first met, the return of her had done the very same. Life was right again, a simple turn from darkness to a world of light.
