hiding behind this cracked porcelain mask

This land, which was now clear of heavy snowfall as the north was pummeled with it daily, was a brand new sight to Tsrmono. He obviously wasn't used to the lack of slaver camps and snow, but the openess of the area was quite a set apart from the mountains which Tsr came from. He planned on less encounters here than with the encampment areas, and especially less incompetent fools, but one could only hope. His size fooled many and they guess his age wrong often, assuming he had to be a relatively young child. This did not reflect in his speech and personality, or rather lack thereof. The way he spoke confused many, as he referred to himself as a group of entities, instead of one. It was apparently uncommon to do so.

The shadowy jackal made his way across the countryside, all by his lonesome. It seemed like he was a child without a mother, but he felt just fine on his own.

Hope you don't mind? ^^

Keychain wasn't exactly happy at the moment. The shy wolf sighed a little as she made her way. Looking up since her eyes had been glued to the ground before, she spotted a jackal. 'Huh?' The female thought as if she had never seen a jackal before. She scurried over to follow the shadowy jackal, keeping her distance from him. To her, the male seemed quite young. 'But you should never judge people by their appearance.' Keychain thought suddenly. The female had never ever thought of anyone else as 'ugly' or 'fat'. To her those were rude words that should never be said.

Finally summoning up her courage she began to walk faster until she reached him. Even though it seemed that she was bigger than him--but only by a little bit since she herself was small, she still felt that the stranger could easily hurt her if he wanted to. ''Hi, are you a jackal?'' Keychain asked. 'Well that was a stupid question.' ''I mean, whats your name? I'm Keychain.'' She corrected herself. Her tail was tucked between her legs now.

Her ears flattened against her head, she tried to look as small as possible, which was stupid, because if the jackal was to hurt her he would be more confident now.

YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE

While the rather small jackal ventured the countryside almost innocently, who should come but a random girl. He could tell this wolf was a girl by her stained fur which bore brightly colored hues. Tsrmono snorted, the flamboyant sight disgusting him. He remained quiet though, as the girl merely assumed him to be a jackal. That had not happened before. Most would assume him to be a coyote, because of the close looks and the mere fact that jackals were not popular around North America. His black, soulless eye looked up at the girl. "Correct," the jackal stated simply. He didn't have too much to say. Conversations were worthless in his opinion. "We are Tsrmono Sotir."

He sat down in the grass, his entirely black body, broken with bloody tears running under his eyes, stood still. Almost statuesque in appearance, Tsr continued. "Tell us, are there more jackals near? We assume you could not have guessed our heritage without seeing jackals before." His empty voice rang with no volume, as if he was speaking though a machine.

sorry fail :/

Keychain smiled a little. To be honest, the others appearance scared her, but of course she would not say. ''We?'' She asked a little confused, but dropped the subject quickly. To the female, jackals were a very rare sight. ''It's nice to meet you Tsrmono Sotir. She told him, nodding slightly. ''No, not that I know of. I haven't seen a jackal for a very long time, but I've seen one, so I can tell the difference.'' Keychain stated a little proud that she was right about the other being a jackal.

'This is so strange, he seems so...unusual...' The female thought. She had never met one quite like Tsrmono before. He was different. First of all, he addressed himself as ''we'', second, he spoke like a machine at least to Keychain, and third...his eyes had no color. To put it simply, he was weird in Keychain's eyes. Even though herself could be classified as 'weird' by some because of her outrageous colors, she thought they were pretty. At least it had never hurt anyones eyes before. Not that she knew of, 'course.

The female's legs went wobbly but she quickly stopped her legs with effort. Letting out a nervous chuckle as she smiled at the jackal.

He could tell that Keychain was already confused. She repeated what he said in a question, namely the "we" part, which confused everyone. It was an expected outcome and he aknowledged it every time. Then she proceeded with pleasantries, as nearly everyone also did. However she followed that information with a dissapointing discovery. Keychain actually hadn't seen any jackals in the area, and as far as she knew there wasn't any at all. She did seem to know the crucial difference, based on seeing jackals previously. Tsrmono was suspicious, but he deemed it a viable excuse.

"This information is unfortunate." Tsrmono stared at the female blankly, not saying anything else. One wouldn't be able to tell if he was sincere, or making a hidden threat. For him, nobody would ever know. Tsr wasn't known for openly divulging information. He could notice her nervousness, but it quickly faded as she regained control of her legs. "We assume your uneasiness results from our appearance or demeanor, correct?" he inquired.

''Sorry'' Keychain stated simply, as if it was her fault that jackals were rare in this area. She tried to read his expression but failed miserably. She listened to his words, and felt a little embarrassed that he had noticed. While thinking of a reply, she herself got a unreadable expression on her face yet there was a hint of embarrassment and unreadiness. Her unreadable expression turned into a readable 'thinking' face, but she dropped it quickly, now it was just a small smile. ''Um...kind of.'' She murmured. What was he expecting? 'Yes'? She didn't know, and all of the sudden she felt like running away. Why? The other didn't seem to be angered, and she was pretty sure he wasn't going to attack. Unsureness and confusion was apparent on Keychain's face now as she stood there in front of the other. ''So, I'm assuming you are not from around these parts, right? Keychain began, trying to make small talk. While the female was almost positive Tsrmono was not from around here, it could be possible. 'Maybe he has amnesia, or whatever its called.' She thought simply, her expression for a split second showed a lot of disapprove for the other though it quickly faded as it turned back into a simple smile.

Keychain stayed silent, as she was not sure what else to say to the jackal. He probably would just leave now. 'Like when people ask for directions, they don't just stay there and chat, right? They move on.' The female reminded herself, as her eyes were locked on his, uncolored eyes. She broke eye contact with the other for a second. It felt weird looking into his eyes. It was like staring at death's door for her. Clearing her throat as she blinked rapidly, she looked back up at him.
