Why is the sky blue?

AW, but only one please c:

"Don't go down the stairs," he mumbled to himself, eying the floor boards as he stepped down the hall on all four paws. Silvano was still in his four legged form, not aware that one day he could shift into the form his family all had. It never occurred to him just yet that it was even an option. Sure, Silvano was too young to even really consider attempting it, but even so the thought never crossed his mind. That was a lie. Once or twice he wondered what it would be like to be that tall and stare at the world from a completely different point of view. What was it like, to use two legs instead of four and to be able to use those -what were they- hands to do so much more? The world was this giant mystery to him and he wanted to know more, to be prepared for everything that could come the young Sadira's way.

As any puppy, he was as curious as the rest of them. The only thing that was different was that his mind was not entirely there for his explorations. There were moments when the little Sadira blanked out and his body moved on auto pilot for as long as ten minutes. That was how he ended up staring out a window outside of the room. He sat before it, staring at the blue of the sky, eyes following the white puffy clouds that drifted lazily by. Green eyes watched the cotton float along, wondering why they were white. Why they floated up in the sky, and why that big blue thing was so very, very blue. Maybe it was like a big tub of water, upside down and suspended. The birds that flew up there probably were swimming through it, like a fish, not that he had ever really seen a fish swim. "Blue. Why blue? Why not red?" Silvano mumbled, still staring blankly, tiny tail wagging.

Caedres had been slowly tracing the borders of his new pack's domain, circling inwards to discover as much about the land as he could. New smells and sights greeted him everywhere he went. His head constantly swivelled back and forth as he studied his surroundings. It was a lot different than where he was from... Now those were some interesting memories. His last pack was nowhere near as organized or friendly as this one seemed to be. There had been a lot of in fighting and disturbances... and the land was not nearly as beautiful as it was here. He was used to seeing barren and rocky crags with dead, withered trees. Having to hunt for days just for one meal. That was probably why his old pack was self-imploding, but they weren't the best of wolves anyways. They reminded him a lot of the stories he had heard about his ancestors, the 'Humans'. He shook his head with the pity he felt for those misguided beings.

He blinked, his gray eyes flashing. Not paying attention to where you were going was never a good thing... and now he ended up in front of a large man-made structure. By how well it was kept, it was probably his pack's home. Realizing he was just standing in the front yard and not moving made him wake completely up from his thoughts. The building was made of bricks, cement, and plenty of cut lumber. The smell of the Crimson Dream wolves permeated the whole area. He began to walk slowly towards the manor, not quite sure if he truly should be here yet. Formalities and all of that fancy pack talk was never one of his strongest abilities, and he didn't want to get off on the wrong paw already. Feeling that if he shouldn't be here, someone would have stopped him already, he made his way to the porch, sniffing everything along his path.

hai Big Grin

The sky was still blue. It did not change colors. It was different colors early in the morning and late in the day. But why was it blue during the day? Why was it that orange gold early in the morning and burning red in the evening and stifling black in the middle of the night when the moon did not shine? And why was the moon a soft white glow? Why were the dots in the sky called stars? Everything had a question attached and the little Sadira still did not know all the answers. Like, why was it that his family all walked on two legs more often than not and he and his sisters were on four. Why were they in this building? Where were they? Were there other children in the pack? Who were they, if they were there?

Silvano whined, backtracking to the stairs. It took him a little while but he managed to clamber down them. Every time he descended them, he felt he was getting more experienced in traversing the steps. Artemis did not follow him out of the room, so he rejoiced. Another adventure alone! And without his parents! His tongue lulled out of his mouth as he bounced away from the stairs and toward the door. His little body bobbed because of his small size. But Silvano did not know he was all that small. The world was just so, so big. But here was another problem. The door. The Dreamer could not reach the doorknob, and even if he could, there was no way for him to turn it open. He stared at the wood for a few moments, green eyes trying to figure out how to get it all open. He wanted out! Silvano went up to the door and started whining, little paws scratching at the door's wood. The sound was soft, but he kept on at it, whining like someone had taken his toy from him.

Sorry it took so long Sad

The steps up the porch flew under him as he just jumped from the ground to the wooden decking. His nose traced zig-zags across the wood, trying to get a feel for the place. The timber smelled old and worn, but also had the smell of care. The pads on his paws could feel how worn the planks were by the passage of feet, paws, and time. It was a unique situation for him. Sure, he had lived in abandoned human housing before, but none that were as taken care of as this place. It was reassuring in a way he couldn't quite grasp yet. This pack was very interesting, indeed. He just might really like it here...

Suddenly, he heard a whine, followed by a scrabbling noise at the door. Caedres' ears picked up instantly, his body immediately tensing before he realized what kind of whine it was. A pup. He relaxed and quietly moved to the door. His head dipped down towards the door, sniffing for the little one's scent. Probably not allowed outside of the manor... but he did want to meet every wolf in the pack... Sigh. He wasn't good with kids. But might as well try. Famous last words, right? Oh well...

Not willing to change, he reared up on his back legs and used his rough pads to get a grip on the knob and turn it. The door swung back as he moved back and circled around to greet the pup. Caedres let his tail wag, to let the little one know he was at least friendly. He didn't know any of the parents really yet, other than the Commander, so first impressions on the kids were always important. Or so he thought. In his mind, he rolled his eyes. Social graces always eluded him.

His little nails scratched at the wood, not even leaving a mark. All it did was make some noise that echoed softly in the entryway. Silvano twisted his head over his shoulder to see if anyone was coming. There were footsteps, but they were so muffled that they could not have been coming his way in the house. They were... from outside? The scratching at the door stopped, but the Sadira still leaned against the portal with both paws placed on the wood. He yelped at the door, wondering who was on the other side. It was a risk, considering the odds of it being one of his siblings or his parents. Those guys were always milling about here, namely because them pups were needed to be watched over. Really, they would be fine. No one wanted to kidnap them. Who would? They were totally safe.

The door opened, and the puppy fell forward, caught by surprise; he had not known which way the door opened and thought there would have been more warning than what was given. With an "oomph", he was flat on his stomach and his limbs were spread out. Dusty green eyes opened to look at the man that had been outside of the door. It as definitely no one he knew nor anyone that fit the description of a friend of the family. So, was it someone new or someone old he had not yet met, both of which were entirely plausible. Silvano did not debate that this man was in the pack, but he was glad that the door had been opened.

"Hi," he greeted, tail wagging even as he lay spread eagle on the floor, peering up at him. "Thank you." The door was now open and there was a whole new world out there. Scrambling to his chubby feet, the Sadira stepped outside into the sunshine, feeling the heat of it on his fur. His tail would definitely not stop wagging. "Who you?" he asked, staring at the stranger intently.

STDs! Sorry its short.

Caedres' gray eyes looked down on the pup, a confused look flashing across his face. The thing was so small. It was hard to believe every wolf started out that little...

"I am Caedres. Who are you, little one?"

He lowered his nose and sniffed the pup, wondering if it was a good thing that he had let him out. Leaning back, he watched it stand up with its tail wagging faster and faster every second. Yea, probably not a good idea to let it out... but he didn't really know the rules here... Still, better at least to keep an eye on it. Ugh. He was not good with little ones at all...

The std everyone wants to have, and I don't mind

The little Sadira blanked out for a moment, eyes caught on the world outside of the door. He had been out with his mother, father, and siblings but this time he was alone and only had this person to block him. He probably wouldn't too. The man's voice caught his attention again and he sent dust green eyes up at him, cocking his head to the side. Grinning, Silvano introduced himself, "Silvano. Sadira. My mommy is the boss." Chancing a few steps forward on the porch, the young one laughed, feeling the sunlight on his face. It was so very nice.

He jumped in place a few times, shifting side to side a little. Silvano turned back to the man. "You not part of my family. Where you come from?" he asked, curious at to the origins of the stranger. This guy did not mean him any harm, so he was not worried for his safety. Plus there had been no movement of hostility. So he was friendly!

Sorry it took so long!!! I'll have more time this weekend.

Caedres' head tilted to the side as he gazed at Silvano. The little wolf was extremely bubbly. It was a bit frightening. So much energy bottled up inside something so small. Quite... odd. His blunt questions showed his innate curiousity. Amusing.

"No, I am not part of your family. I am part of your pack... now. I came from..."

Pausing, he tried to think of how to explain where he was from to a wolf who probably had never left the manse property. Simplest terms... simple...

"I came from across the mountains to the West. Where the sun sets every evening."

The little thing's blatant need to take in everything around him made Caedres smile a wolfy grin. He was starting to grow on the grey wolf, although Caedres would never admit it to himself.

it's kay

Silvano looked plainly at the stranger, and uttered a small "Oh" before turning to look at the skyline, marred by trees and hills. How far away was that, anyway? And what lay in that direction? Fields of flowers? Forest of trees tall enough to touch the sky? A barren wasteland of dirt and thorny shrubs? Plains of nothing but sand? What kind of a place did he come from? "What was it like? Was there other wolves? Or was you alone?"

The pup tumbled forward into the grass, distracted by one that was poking out at an old angle. He pawed at it, trying to get it to lie down flat against its siblings. It would not; it reminded him of Artie, sticking out against her two littermates and probably the older kids too. "Does you have siblings?" Silvano asked of the other wolf, rolling over as he tripped over a rock. Appendages flailing in the air, he turned his head a bit to eye at Caedres. "Does you have friends?" Young as he was, he did not know what not to ask yet. That would come later. Or at least till someone smacked him or chastised him properly.
