Set in the manor, yeah?

Silvano lopped down the hall, little tail wagging and tongue hanging out of his mouth like a big pink flag. "Uncle Jazpeeer," he called, as loud as he dared. He did not want his littermates to hear him calling, for they would surely come following. Actually, it was more that Artemis would come calling. It made him guilty to leave behind Parker to deal with Artemis, but the young Dreamer wanted to go somewhere where his energetic sister would definitely not be too happy to go. His uncle Jazper told them about a library full of books. Naturally, the thought of all the answers being in such a close place was so inviting. The little Sadira wanted to take the big man up on his offer and explore the library. Now if only he could read. That was a problem that hopefully could be solved.

His uncle was a big guy, dark like his mother, but not really related to him. He was with his blood aunt, Ghita, and they had puppies who were older than him and his sisters. Jazper was a nice big guy who wasn't really rough with them. But, then again, no one in the pack was really rough, since they were related to about, what, half of them? They were the three precious gems, newest Dreamers to join the pack and the growing family. The Sadira wanted to spend more time with his uncle, simply because it seemed he had a lot to teach him. It was something his mind craved.

The Sadira slipped to a halt, suddenly wondering where he was supposed to find his uncle. He started staring at the wall, rather blankly as he thought. Where would that man be found? In the library? Outside? Somewhere else? This excursion was not really well thought out at all. Silvano whined, "Uncle Jazpeeeeer." It was kind of pitiful, as though he were expecting the big man to appear out of no where and pluck him up in rescue. That was a kind of idea for Artemis to think up, not him. Honestly.

It had been a long time since Jazper had simply slept all day, lazing about in his bed of dark pelts. His precious mate in his arms fast asleep giving the large male a feeling of security. After all, regardless of his size he too had his insecurities at times. Although they weren't about being physically hurt, he would give his life in a heart beat for any member of his family and that was the insecurity. How in gods name was he suppose to keep track of his son and daughter, his nieces and nephews, Savina? Kansas? God knew that male would need some help if he ever got in danger. At least with Ghita in his arms she was tangible, right where he could protect her.

His security was shattered as a small whimpering voice caught his attention. Large ebony ears shifted forward as his amber eyes shot open. Silvano. As gently as the giant could he shifted away from Ghita's sleeping body and off of the bed, quickly placing the pelts back in his place. As soon as he was free from the bedding he hurried off in the direction of his nephew's call. What could that boy want? The call had sounded like a whispered cry even, what could be wrong when he was inside the house?

Starting down the stairs he say the little mixed coat hopping down the hall ahead of him. Following curiously he still wondered what, if anything, was the matter. By the time the large man got to the hallway he spotted his little nephew staring at a wall as he let out another whimper. The giants heart sank slightly as he watched the sight. He wanted to make the whining stop. Suddenly it occurred to him, duh, he could! Quietly he rushed forward and lifted the little guy up high over his head before bringing him into a hug into his chest. “At your service captain.” He chuckled with a wink.

I'm sorry I'm late :<

So preoccupied was the little pup, that he did not notice the big man come up behind him and scoop him up like a small sack of nothing. Jazper was such a big guy that Silvano felt even smaller than he was. Even his mother and father felt smaller than his uncle. His grin was absolutely wide and his tongue was sticking out as he rose into the air, over the man's head and back down. It was exhilarating and he laughed as he came back down, surrounded on almost all sides by his uncle's bulk. Uncles were the best when it came to being fun and exciting; they were a little bit less preoccupied with safety and a little bit more with fun, but not at the expense of one for the other. Plus Jazper was the best uncle he had ever had. Okay, he was the only uncle he ever knew, but it still counted!

"But Jazper, you the captain, not me," he answered from between the man's arms and chest, feeling a little bit squished and really tiny. But he felt quite safe, and warm. Silvano pushed on Jazper's chest a bit, looking straight up at the captain. "Was you busy?" If he interrupted his uncle doing whatever it was, then he would most definitely feel very guilty. But Jazper rushed out and found him, so he couldn't be busy! Right? "Uncle Jazper, can we read a book? I wanna read a story," asked the small pup, getting excited all over again. Maybe his uncle would teach him? Oh, he hoped so.

Jazper hugged his nephew close. He hadn't always been around for the pups as a playmate, and he regretted that. There was something special about the way a youngster viewed the world. Every tiny thing was a new adventure, ever sight was fresh and new, every experience from first steps, to first words made every wolf smile with pride. That was a continuous thing in Crimson Dreams. There was always a new bunch of pups on the way. It had been that way since Jazper was a pup himself. Smiling down at Silvano he chuckled lightly. “Ya, I guess your right kiddo.” He gently placed the pup back on the ground as he squatted down to as close to the boys height as he could get.

He had been enjoying his bed, its true, but that didn't exactly constitute as being 'busy'. Though he would have enjoyed one lazy day. “ No, I was just havin' a nap. I was having a rather pleasant dream about it being winter time. There was snow and we were all playing in it and making snow forts.” It occurred to the Knight that Silvano didn't know what winter was. He hadn't been around long enough to know. Heck, his own pups hardly were old enough to experience the snow. “Winter is a season. Like spring, summer and fall. Except cold.” He didn't really know how to explain winter. It was an odd thing explaining something so someone that's never experienced it. Like the cold for instance. Did Silvano even know what cold was?

Giving up Jazper just started to walk towards the Library, “Well of course we can read a book!” He exclaimed motioning for the little boy to follow. “To read a book you must first find a comfy place to read. I prefer the library. Many many books an a few very comfortable places to sit.” The large double doors came into sight and Jazper's grin grew and he pushed them open with one great thrust. The library was one of Jazper's favorite places. He had worked very hard with some help to fix it up to its final glory. The walls were large and white, with long curtains and big windows. Books lined shelf after shelf and way off in the corner he had put a large grand piano for his pleasure. He hadn't been here quite some time.

I'm sorry Melissa Dx

Silvano was set on the ground, and his uncle had to crouch to talk to him properly. Oh, how the young Sadira could not wait until he would be old enough to stand on his own two feet and not force his relatives to descend from up there just to talk with him. How tall would he be? As tall as his father? As his uncle? Oh, that was certainly a dream. To tower over people, to be a force to be reckoned with. People could look up at him and be inspired, or terrified at the mere sight of him. But now, all he was was a tiny pup, still nothing more than a child still far from being grown up. In a year, it would be different, but he was only a few months old now.

Winter. Winter. That sounded familiar, but it felt as though it was briefly mentioned before him rather than ever experienced. The Sadira looked up at Jazper blankly, clearly not understanding what was just described to him. Snow? Snow forts? What was snow? What was a fort? What was a snow fort? "Oh..." His uncle explained what winter was, but he still did not truly understand what it meant nor could he put an image in his own head to place with the word. It was cold was the only thing he could put to the word, and that had no image, none whatsoever. Cold he understood, though. That's why he loved how convenient it was to have siblings born with him; they would have a hard time being cold at night.

Jazper strode off, waving along his nephew, who followed along behind him. Smile plastered on his face, Silvano loped off to try to catch up to the man's heels. The doors were opened wide, like some grand entrance. The young pup stopped in his tracks, eyes widening at the books. Oh, it was grand. So grand. Jaws open wide in surprise, the pup blindly stepped forward, eyes sweeping all the shelves. Shaking his disproportionate head, he saw a chair, which he ran up to and scrambled on top of. "First thing is to find the best comfy spot to sit!" repeated the Sadira, tail wagging furiously. Standing on his hind legs and paws on the chair's arm, Silvano watched his uncle. "No! You gotta find something to read first!" He looked at the books. "Like an adventure! An adventure!"

OOC: No prob Big Grin

As Jazper thought the concept of winter was lost in Silvano's head. Nibbling on his lip the Captain attempted to find the words to better describe the season to the pup. He didn't understand what true coldness was, or frost, or snow let alone a snowman. Finally giving up Jazper sighed, “Why don't we just find a nice picture book that will show you winter.” The suggestion was just that, a suggestion. He was more than positive this idea would go in one ear and out the other as a lot of words seemed to when it came to little ones. If you told them a thousand times to be polite, to stay inside the mansion, to always be with an adult, it just would be a thousand times to little.

Watching the Sadira boy's face Jazper could not help but let his own smile beam as he looked at the large room. Silently he wondered if he should show the boy the grand piano, that he had moved himself, in the center of all the book shelves. The sound in this room was just much better than his room. The Knight simply didn't have the room for the sound to echo since Ghita started living with him. He had just enough space for a smaller version of this grand piano, what the humans called a baby grand, and his favorite dark brown violin. Naturally he kept a second one, a redish tinted one, by the piano in the library for the convenience and a few in his secret room where he had stashed a fine collection of instruments and weapons along with a few boxes of treasures from human houses.

The running and jumping was hard to ignore and quickly brought Jazper out of his train of thought and back to the task at hand. Silvano seemed to grasp the two rules of reading: a comfortable place to sit and a good book. As he rushed at the books the warrior was momentarily afraid he would run straight into the book case and knock it over from his energy. Chuckling at the pup the coal colored giant followed after him happily. “What sort of adventure?” He asked as he started looking for the childrens books. Humans had been smart and made books just for little ones. Knowing the shelves well enough he motioned for Silvano to follow him to the next shelf where the books were much much thinner and full of bright colors. Scanning the books he looked down at the pup, “How about The Ugly Duckling or The Turtle and the Hare?”

It had been a while since he had read a book to a pup. Sophia had an interest in books but she was usually to focused on escaping the mansion when she was younger to appreciate Jazper's unique talents and Aro simply was more of a hunting mice type of boy. Learning how to read and write had been one of the highlights of his childhood. The evenings spent with Deuce on the old armchair had been relaxing and refreshing after a long day of running around. Aro and Sophia just didn't share his curiosity for the humans.
