Caedres

A light pause in the rain, and Mati Church was released by the hold the mansion had held her in. The wolfess carried nothing, and in the midst of the forest shifted to her lupus form. The past days had been long and dark, and though the sun still did not shine the Dreamer found the air light and clear and easily passing through her nose, she felt the warmth of the southern flowing air. The wolfess did not venture towards the borders as was her recently normal ritual. She felt the need to stay close to home, and wandered through the Cotton Tail meadow and then westward.

She allowed her thoughts to become clear, emptied. As she traveled her pace grew, her strides lengthening. Her large form did not make her fast or extremely agile, but her stamina was just as good as any other. Small wakening birds scattered as she ran through the lightly forested area. Her nose worked, taking in what might be beyond the next line of trees. She could smell the stream before its babbling voice called to her.

Mati slowed, and trotted up to it with a panting breath. Her Earthen tone did not look much differently with the mud that splattered her paws and legs. She stepped down the small bank, her eyes watching her footing as she stepped into the running water. It had risen, fed from the days of rain, yet it was still light and gentle against her wrists and ankles. Back nose touched the cool surface, and her pink tongue reached out to lap lazily from the refreshing spring.

Sorry it took so long!

He had been sifting through the wet grass of the woods, trying to pick up the scent of a doe that had been here a few hours prior... but... the rain had pretty much made that impossible. He snorted as he shook the loose droplets of rain off of his coat. The lupus form he favored was easily cleaned with the rain and a little bit of work. Speaking of which...

The sound of a babbling brook caught his attention to his south. His ears perked up quickly at the noise and he turned to lope off in that direction. The wind was coming from the north, bringing his scent down to the water. It lowered his chance to find some game, but he wasn't too worried with that at the moment. This was a prime hunting ground, and he had yet to even feel the pangs of hunger since coming here.

Arriving at the source of the sound, he stopped instantly at the site of another wolf in the area. Not wanting to provoke an attack or anything, having not met this one before, he calmly waited for it to notice his presence. He was definitely in the worst position here, upwind with no hint of a scent.

Big Grin

The cool water flowed down her throat, it refreshed her instantly and then felt as if a dead weight in her stomach. Mati continued to to lap at the stream, her mind clear and the energy of the run still surging through her veins. The world whilingly slipped away, the only weight that remained was the chilled liquid in her belly.

She retreated upward, air passing through her nose. There was something on the wind, the soft drift touching her wet lips and sending a slight chill through her. Violet eyes looking across the running water and to the other bank. She did not know him, through he wore the scent of all of them. Still it was only fresh on his pelt, and the Major found that she was more curious about the newcomer then she was talkative.

Fur along the brown wolfess' back prickled, instinct taking control after the long run and the wistful thought process that had left her. Ears stood tall on her head, chin rising as she watched him for the prolonged moment. The Church fey was weary around males, had been since her youth and trust for her was earned. You are? She questioned with a tone was made the spring water seem tepid.

Sorry this took so long!

The female noticed him after a few short moments, water dripping from her after she had finished drinking. She studied him for a moment, and he had the odd feeling that she was not happy with him being here. He was about to turn away when she finally spoke.

"I am Caedres."

He stood on all fours before bowing lightly and showing a little of his neck, feeling that this one was of a higher authority than he first imagined. Of course, with how new he was to the pack, almost everyone was of a higher authority and it never hurt to placate someone before a fight could break out over petty formalities anyways.

"I have just recently joined the pack."

He rose slowly after what he had deemed a decent amount of time supplicating himself. Beads of dew dropped from his fur unnoticed as he waited for the next move, knowing that it would either be one of dismissal or greeting. This was one of the few instances he couldn't tell which way it would go...

no worries!

There was a moment that held silence between them. It was only a few second that was left for the physical postures that were threaded within their instinctual foundations. Though they were werewolves, their bodies able to change into beings resembling the stature and posture of a human, the ties to the nature born and nurtured creatures would never be completely broken. They were wolves, after all. And Mati read his body much like she did a book, but this she felt inside as well. His lowered head meant more then the words he spoke.

Welcome Caedres. Her voice rang, a bit warmer then before. It was not easy for the fey to trust an unknown male. all those that lived among them were either family or existed in these lands before her birth. There was must to protect, and Mati would be weary of him (even in just slightly), until he had earned her trust. She stepped out of the steam, her vital slowing now that he breath was caught and the water lay in her stomach.

I'm Mati, She gave her name while her eyes looked over him smoothly. Her tail waved lazily, a peace offering for her previous cold nature. how do you like these lands so far? the question given a few moment after her name.
