The ocean was a picturesque view of calm serenity on the eastern coast of Nova Scotia, dubbed Quartz Shoreline by the canine inhabitants of the area. The horizon showed a long, straight line of dark blue with no visible disturbances in the distance. Only gentle, playful waves slowly lapped at the shoreline in a peaceful lull of advancing and retreating. It was like a dreamy dance between the land and the sea that never ceased, looping constantly into infinity. The sky was a mirror of the sea – a beautiful shade of blue with clouds drifting across the open canvas, constantly changing shapes and scenes. One could make out a cute bunny with a fluffy tail nibbling on a patch of clover, or a fearsome dragon of myth piercing the heavens with vast wings. These pictures and more were brief in time as wind buffeted the cotton-clouds and altered their appearance to whatever else the imagination could find.

Rosario was paying little attention to the drama unfolding in the wild blue yonder. She padded along the sandy shore, just out of reach of the water. With her incredibly petite form, her tiny paws barely sunk into the wet earth, making it quite easy for her to trot along at a steady pace. She held her crown down, optics unfocused and staring blankly at the ground that passed beneath them. A myriad of thoughts were swirling through her mind, creating what might have been a whirlwind of confusion to someone unaccustomed to such things. It was easily traversable landscape of the soul to the coyote, however, as she always seemed to have such things going on upstairs.

Among the various things that occupied Rosario’s thoughts were memories of her life before she had left Mexico. Things were never easy, but always much more simple than now. She ached for the younger days of her life when she had nothing to worry about but wrestling with her brothers. This was before Roman had been killed by a Luperci, before she had been turned through rape, and before Riel had sold her out to her Luperci hating pack. The banishment had been the most painful and damaging thing she had ever been through. But what could she expect? Hatred breeds only hatred, and that’s what her former family was full of.

At least the small femme had been able to get herself out of that rut. Sometimes in seemed to Rosario that as soon as she cleared herself of one obstacle, another would appear. What would it be this time? Really, with the unpredictability and versatility of the members of Inferni, there was no telling. Anything could happen around there, and that always kept Rosario on edge. She was in a constant state of stress, always wary, always waiting for something to go awry that would damage her standings. That was why she traveled away from the pack lands for the day. She had to have a mental break from herself.

The thoughts were noticeably detracting from Rosario’s motor skills, made blatantly obvious when she ran head first into a log that had washed up on shore. “Chingao {fuck}!” She cursed loudly in surprise, giving the soggy, dilapidated old wood a pointed glare, as if somehow the inanimate object was at fault. In a show of defiance, Rosario nimbly lept atop the log and puffed out her chest; what a rebel. On cue, the rotten wood cracked below her, causing her right leg to collapse in. The coyote sucked in her breath in a sharp hiss as the jagged wood sliced through the skin. Blood instantly began to trickle from the wound, the full flow blocked by the splinter of wood that dug into her flesh and effectively trapped her. Wiggling about to try and get free only seemed to make matters worse. Rosario silently cursed herself for her own stupidity – honestly, she should’ve expected nothing less from a piece of rotten driftwood. After a few moments, she abandoned her pride and yelled, “Ayudame {help me}! Someone, por favor {please}!”

Big thank you to Sie for the beautiful table!

The shoreline was a complete change of environment. Not too long ago Yuki had been wandering through a meadow where she had met the kind wolf named Ayita. The wolf had given her her first taste of fish. It only occurred now to her that the wolf had given up their meal to a complete stranger. The scent of the ocean was already engraved in her nostrils. The fresh smell of salt and the marvelous animals that dwelled in the sea filled her with sheer joy, the fragrance was almost intoxicating. She dreaded the moments when she had to exhale, knowing that for a moment the beautiful aroma would leave her nose.

As she moved along the curvy shore she skimmed the area. She spotted some smoothed down rocks that were within the sea. Her paws guided her closer, entering the water they quickly became numb. It seemed so calm and gentle, yet she knew it was one of the most restless things in the world. Ripples of waves washed over her paws, then swelling into foam, they retreated back to the ocean. It was a simple, repetitive movement, yet it seemed necessary, it was as if it was the sea saying "Hey! I'm alive and breathing!" Yes, it was clear to her at that moment that waves were the breathes of the ocean.

Yuki was moving further into the ocean. In no time she was up to her femur bone with water. She lowered herself down into the water, cleansing her fur of dirt particles. When she returned to land she took a gander at her reflection. Her fur was smoothed back in a odd manner, as well as her ears. Her ribs were clearly visible through her thick coat. As she shook out her fur she began with her head, a twisted movement moved down her body as she ridded of the wetness. Her fur puffed out in a very informal manner; like she had just rubbed up against a giant balloon. A gust of win raked through her fur and returned it too its slick, silky, manner.

The newly cleansed wolfdog began a slow canter down the waterfront. Farther up ahead, she could make out the shape of a small canis; probably a coyote. As she neared the creature she could here cries for help, though they seemed to be spoken in a different language. She sped up her pace and reached the level of running. Her paws pounded the sand hard as she pressed forward, kicking up soil behind her. Soon she could see the problem, the coyote's foot was caught in a piece of...wood? "How in the bloody hell would you do that.." She wondered. When she became within touching distance of the small canine she could immediately smell the bittersweet scent of her blood. Hey. Usted allí, coyote. ¿Usted habla inglés?{Hey. You there, coyote. Do you speak the English?}" The words rolled off her tongue in a slow, choppy manner. She did not know much Spanish, but along her travels she had picked up a few things. Yuki stepped back and looked over the rotten piece of drift wood, if she could hit it just the right way, she might be able to get her free. She placed both of her paws on the side of the wood closest to her and pushed with all the weight in her body. The wood had cracked, but not completely. She gripped that same piece of wood with her sharp teeth, sinking them into the rotten wood. She tugged on the wood until a loud "CRACK" could be heard. The rotten wood fell apart at their feet, leaving the termites that had lived inside to scatter everywhere. "I can't believe I just bit that!" Yuki thought with much disgust.

It took a conscious effort on Rosario's part to not thrash about in her current predicament. Even the slightest of movements would cause the wood piercing her right leg to dig in painfully, sending a sharp reminder and releasing a fresh plume of crimson life blood. She was shoulder deep into the log, which caused her body to twist at a rather unnatural angle. This disallowed her any great movement and placed her jaws in a position where she couldn't properly maneuver them to bite at her soggy captor. Despite it all, Rosario despised the feeling of helplessness and of being trapped. When she discovered there was not much she could do, she wanted to throw her body into frustrated convulsions to try and dislodge her leg. This, however, would've been incredibly painful and if the bulk of her body slid off the log, her leg might've snapped. Knowing this, she kept herself still but hated every moment of it.

Even though she loathed being at the mercy of any living being, Rosario was immensely grateful when she noticed the advancement of a four legged figure some distance down the beach. She squinted her deep azure orbs at the ebony, chocolate, and ivory figure on the approach, immediately noticing the size and build in comparison to her own. A wolf? Not good. Suddenly her relief turned to horror. Was it perhaps a wolf Luperci from another pack that would, instead of saving her, go on the offensive and attack? Rosario knew it was too late to attempt to hide, as the other was coming straight for her and had undoubtedly already heard her cries for help. She struggled a bit against her restraint, wincing as the pain registered immediately. She then resigned herself to the fact that she would helpless against whatever fate lie in store.

When the wolfish canine came nearer, Rosario immediately stilled her movements and flattened her ears on her head. The little silver bell piercing her right aud ceased its jingling immediately. She said nothing as the femme surveyed the situation, simply waiting to see what would happen. What came next shocked the coyote so much that it effectively rendered her speechless -- someone else that spoke Spanish! The words were like silk on Rosario's senses, which had so long been neglected by the harsh syllables of English. This had to be some kind of godsend.

Rosario was still unable to find words when her rescuer began to take action against the log which had fatefully trapped the coyote. Honestly, the movement of the wood did cause her some measure of pain, but the resonating crack of sucess was like music to Rosario's soul. The driftwood completely collapsed beneath her, the rot giving way to the strain of weight, and the strong stench of decay filled the air as little bugs scattered around.

It took her a few moments to regain composure, but Rosario quickly straightened and moved off of the slick debris, situating herself instead on the sand adjacent to the other femme. A slow trail of blood leaked from a long, deep gash in her leg, though it was nothing severe enough to cause alarm. A few splinters of wood still protruded from the wound which gave it a rather grisly appearance. Well, wasn't this hunky dory! For the moment, Rosario completely ignored her leg and instead focused warily on her savior, her crown held low and auds tucked back in preparation for some sort of assault. Her body language showed no aggression, simply defensiveness.

It was with a soft, slightly excited tone that she quickly slurred, "Muchos gracias, senorita. Gracias. Me llamo Rosario. Habla pequeno ingles. Y tu? {Thank you very much, miss. Thank you. My name is Rosario. I speak a little English. And you?}" Rosario showed the proper gratitude, but she still remained on high alert in case the situation changed and escalated into something dangerous. She tested her weight on her right leg and found it rather weak. If it came down to it, she might be able to run, but definitely not very far. The coyote would just have to wait and see what the wolf's intentions were.

Big thank you to Sie for the beautiful table!

Thats alright, I'm using Babel fish. ;D. (Table by Ever!)

Yuki was shocked at the canine. "How can one be so faultfinding too a person who had just saved them? She thought with disgust. She began to wonder if the coyote thought she would sink low enough to save an animal's life, then just eat them! Come to think of it.. She could snap the canis in half without breaking a sweat. But as she brought the coyotes image to focus she notices her great beauty. She was sure an eye full for having such a small body.

Her ears were so large Yuki began to have suspicion that the coyote could read her thoughts, not a very bright idea, but even the littlest things sparked her imagination. Her deep blue eyes looked as if an angel had polished them to perfection. Her short coat was the same as any other coyote she had met and the colour scheme was nothing new either. It was difficult for her to bring the small bell into focus, considering the fact that half the things that she saw out of her left eye were blurry. Her eye seemed to only work on its own terms, which was mostly when Yuki didn't even have any thing important to see. She adjusted her gold eye to center the object, as she saw the image clearly she was in awe of it. It had to be the item that had caused that beautiful sound earlier, the bell was almost as attractive as the one who presented it.

As she heard the coyote spoke again she was happy that something had came out of her mouth other then foul words. Even after catching the creature at an odd time, with her bloody leg and such, Yuki wondered by she still came across as beautiful. She nodded her head at the small canines thank you and replied "Mi nombre es Yuki. Mi lengua materna es inglés, pero sé un pedacito del español..{My name is Yuki. My native language is English, but I know a bit of spanish.}" Her voice was hefty with tenderness. She hoped that the reason the apology of Rosario was not sincere was because she was frightened. For the coyote's sake at least..

While being very far from relaxed, Rosario eased up a bit when it appeared that Yuki posed no immediate threat to her. It required a forced conscious effort for her to lift her head and unfold her ears, an action which immediately set the little silver bell to its soft singing. A cool, gentle breeze that was blowing off the ocean kept the tiny instrument in constant motion. The sound was by no means loud or obtrusive, simply being a pleasant source of background noise. It created a kind of beautiful ambiance when accompanied by the faithful splash of waves on the shore. Along with the pleasantly salty scent carried in from the sea and the brightly shining sun, the scene was beautiful.

Rosario was still watching the wolf closely enough to notice her slight albeit sudden change in expression. Unaccustomed to being a subject of admiration or even direct attention, the coyote didn’t quite know what to make of the scrutiny she received. As a matter of fact, she couldn’t even identify what kind of look Yuki was giving her – it could’ve been sheer awe or horrid disgust for all Rosario knew. She squirmed a bit under the intensity of the piercing golden and azure gaze, shifting her meager weight from foot to foot. All that action served to do was remind her of the gash and of the steady trail of blood that was working its way down her leg. The coyote chanced a glance down and saw the crimson liquid had made several trails through her fur, matting it up along the way. Sand had stuck to some areas of it and the small pieces of wood shards protruding from her flesh began to become a cause for concern. Surely something like that left too long could cause infection!

Resolving to quickly address the situation, Rosario offered her first real smile in a quite a long while. It was a brief attempt that actually ended in somewhat of a failure, but it was an attempt nevertheless. “Perdone por favor mi rudeza, senorita Yuki {Please forgive my rudeness, miss Yuki},” came her always soft voice, the words rolling off her tongue with the natural expertise of a native. “Usted tiene mis gracias y gratitud mas sinceras. Estoy en su deuda. {You have my sincerest thanks and gratitude. I am in your debt.}” A sudden thought occurred to the coyote, and she quickly added, “Es usted un discurso mas comodo en ingles? Puedo hacer cualquiera. {Are you more comfortable speaking in English? I can do either.}”

Rosario was definitely eager to establish some sort of feelings of trust or at least moderate comfort with the other canine. Her vigilant suspicion did not allow her to focus her attention on tending to the wound until the other matter was addressed. Also, she got the distinct feeling that her discomfort was or would offend the one who had selflessly rescued her. Despite the pressing need to clean and comfort her leg, Rosario waited for Yuki’s response before she took any action.

Ohyus. You say this just as Yuki was having thoughts about snapping Rosa in half. XD

Yuki smiled warmly as the bell on Rosario's ear rung. The sound was elegant and weightless, it seemed as if the air current had carried it off to keep it all to himself as it quieted, then disappeared like it had never been there. Her eyes softened greatly as she eyed the velvety plasma spilling from Rosa's wound. "What a shame it is that the most beautiful things on this earth are accident prone.." Even the ocean was susceptible to bad weather. She turned to the calm sea and flashed back to a time where she had visited the ocean and saw it being whipped about. It was a sad sight, but even Yuki knew she could not take on mother nature, but this injury, she would try her best to help.

"I am much more comfortable with the English language, yes." She said finally acknowledging her kind words. She felt the need to try to translate it, but she didn't know how to say about half those words in the sentence, so she resisted. "I understand your discomfort in being resuced by a complete stranger, especially one that is ten times the size of you.." She hadn't really noticed it earlier but she was almost ten times bigger then her. The tiny coyote looked only a bit over 15 pounds, making her petite compared to Yuki.

She wanted desperately to help out her small friend, but was not quite sure how. Yuki was no nurse, and would probably only want to be a doctor so she could play with sharp objects, but she still wished she could assist her. "Do you need any help, cleaning your injury or anything?" She asked foolishly. She couldn't help but beam at the critter with her bi-colored eyes, how un-socialized she was. She was a sad failure when she tried to communicate, and would probably be even worse at actually attempting to help someone.

The sudden switch in language was almost enough to make Rosario’s head spin. One moment she was listening to the beautiful, seemingly rare chords of her native tongue, and the next the rough syllables of English were grating against her ears. The elation she felt in her breast didn’t entirely subside, but the feeling certainly lessened. Rosario still remained incredibly comforted by the fact that she knew at least one other who understood a bit of Spanish. Truly, it was a relief to know she was not entirely alone in that regard in the vast wilderness she had traveled across. Despite this, she still briefly squinted her eyes as if in a bit of pain when she heard the words of English.

Upon receiving the thoughtful offer for assistance, the coyote finally decided she wasn’t going to be made into lunch the moment she let her guard down. She slowly lowered her haunches to the grainy sand before the weight of her body slid down, putting her in a laying position that allowed easy access to her injury. Rosario nestled her long tail against her bulk before she looked up at Yuki and spoke to her in English for the first time. Her accent was thick and possibly a bit difficult to understand, but she tried her best. “Gracias…ah, thank you forr patience and underrstand,” came the somewhat awkward speech. ”Please forrgive. I am no verry bien {good} at this language.” Rosario paused for a moment in thought, trying to put together her next sentence. The lines of concentration were clearly etched into her expression as she said the next part with some trepidation, “I.. I do no rrequirre help with.. how you say ‘herida’..”Frustration flared up briefly in her eyes at the language barrier. “Oh! I do no rrequirre help with wound,” she finally managed to relate to Yuki. ”Excusa {sorry},” the small coyote said apologetically about her difficulty in speaking.

After a moment, Rosario began to truly inspect her wound for the first time. The brief survey showed three remaining splinters of wood that were lodged beneath her skin, making rather disgusting lumps appear where the skin was still intact. It wasn’t too severe, but the bleeding would definitely increase without the debris to block it. Her expression never betraying even a hint of disgust or discomfort, Rosario carefully grasped the first splinter and pulled it out. She did this with the other two as well, though on the last one a sharp part snagged another bit of her skin and cleanly sliced it beneath the canines’ eyes. The pain was enough to send splotches of red and black dancing across her vision, but her face remained passive.

Sure enough, blood started to flow in earnest. Rosario immediately began to slide her pink tongue across her fur, catching the coppery liquid in her jaws. It had a strong, not altogether unpleasant taste, but it overpowered her senses and all she could smell was the mouthful of her own life fluid. Pieces of sand that had stuck to the trail of liquid also went into her mouth, crunching unpleasantly between her teeth. Yuck! Following the meticulous attention, her saliva began to coagulate the blood coming from her injury, and the flow slowed before coming to a stop.

Rosario looked back up at Yuki for the first time since she had begun to tend to herself. She had no idea what the large femme’s reaction was to everything that had quickly happened beneath her eyes. Was it interest, disgust, horror? Before really getting a good look at the wolf’s expression, Rosario asked something that had been bothering her for a while. “Parrdon rrude question,” her gentle tone crooned, “but arre you Luperrci?”

Big thank you to Sie for the beautiful table!

What a strange one you are o:

Yuki could sense the coyote was not completely at ease with her presence. It came as no surprise, Yuki was not really the trusting type either. She wanted to say some thing to make her relax, to let her know that she really meant no harm, but no words came out. The words she longed to say were lost some where in her mind, tucked away in a box to never be seen again. The words she used to use to calm her own troubled mind were there no longer. For the stranger or for Yuki.

Yuki paced as the girl began to minister to her wounds. She looked over the buff coloured beach, mesmerized by the gentle curves that the waves left behind when it became high-tied. Every once and a while Yuki would look back to the coyote to ensure that she wasn't going to die from blood loss. A small puddle of her crimson nectar rested on a piece of wood, it was most obvious that it wasn't bothered by anything around it: The oceans waves, the beautiful coyote, the termites. She wished she could be more like that, more at peace with everything. Though she was aware the drop had no brain, or any thing needed to consider it 'alive', she still wished for it's gift to overlook things.

The coyote's words were a clutter, the spilled out to fast; like a youngster who still had a large admiration for words. She enjoyed her accent though, it was as if she was changing every word to make it her own. The over pronounced letters made her sound like some thing out of a old romance novel. She was caught off guard by the question Rosario had thought was 'rude', for it was not one asked very often. "I am not Luperci..Sadly." She admired most of those with Luperci, "Imagine what it would be like to be able to shift any time you wanted.." She wondered if it hurt, to feel all your bones grow and transform to fit the shape of some thing else. To be able to hold things in your paw... Like the hand of your significant other.

"Are you one of Luperci?" Yuki asked as she walked closer to the animal. She was dove-like and peaceful with her steps. Walking on the beach felt like walking on a cloud, each time she put one paw in front of the other, she was filled with a new feeling of bliss. "Do you want me to.. Uhm, go?" She asked quietly, she felt as if she had stayed too long, but she couldn't help but the moments too last forever...

Rosario was somewhat taken aback by the final question that Yuki sent her way. It actually made her mind reel for a moment, which seemed to be becoming something of a common occurrence lately. Did she want to be left alone? As much as the situation put her on guard, did she really wish for the wolf to leave? If she were to be completely honest with herself, the coyote was more alone than ever before in her life. She had thought that coming to this foreign land and joining others like her would soothe the aches of her soul, but nothing had really changed. She still felt like she was fading into the evanescence of misery. Rosario needed the company, and she needed a friend. Her own voice surprised her, ”No! Uh.. I mean.. you stay if that es what you want. It does no botherr me.” She liked to think that if Yuki had admitted to being a Luperci, her answer would’ve been different. But that was unlikely. . .

The initial shock from the question wearing off, Rosario allowed herself to soak in the other things that Yuki had said. The fact that she had said she was ‘sadly’ not a Luperci made the coyote want to shake her head in disgust. There was nothing sad about being a regular wolf or coyote – in fact, there was plenty more sad things about being a Luperci. Rosario wanted to somehow relate to Yuki all the pain and heartache that the Luperci had brought her, even before she had been turned into one. There was no way she could share her woes and hurts with the other and make her understand, however. Even recounting a life time of agony wouldn’t be enough to make a difference. Besides, it was doubtful that she had the proper words to tell her story anyway.

Instead, Rosario offered a bittersweet smile and said, ”Si, I am Luperrci… unforrtunately.” She gave her crown a gentle shake, causing the bell to jingle in acknowledgement of the movement. Then, to allow herself a moment of silence, she once again slid her tongue over the wound. It still took a bit of self control to keep from wincing at the pain that blossomed beneath her salmon appendage, but the expression across her visage was just as impassive as it had been before.

Rosario then allowed her ocean hued gaze to rest on the larger wolfess once again, longing showing within the infinite depths of her twin pools. She couldn’t recount how she felt, exactly, but she could make it a bit clearer if she desired. Why should she, though? Well, loneliness aside, Yuki had selflessly saved her. She also spoke Spanish and had refreshed Rosario’s soul in a way she hadn’t felt in nearly a year. Lastly, she was not a Luperci; being a wolf was never good, but had she of been a Luperci there was little chance that the coyote would ever allow herself to open up. ”I would give anything to be like you,” she slurred quietly, “To be norrmal again.”.

Big thank you to Sie for the beautiful table!

out of character text

The wolfdog was confused by the coyotes words at first, "How could one think of luperci as a burden?" She thought back to when she had first met a wolf of luperci, he had spoke of it as a sickness. "But.. All the things you could do.." her words came out softly, as if she was talking to herself. "Imagínese, para tener la capacidad de llevar a cabo la mano de su otra significativo. O acaricie su cara como usted los besó."{Imagine, to have the ability to hold the hand of your significant other. Or caress their face as you kissed them.}" She felt the need to translate her words back to the language the stranger was more comfortable with, they flowed like they were meant to be said. Alone these words would be like a puff of smoke that would blow away in the wind instantly.. But when you put them together in the right order, they turned into something as magnificent and rare as the Northern Lights.

Yuki, herself, had never felt anything even vespertine to love for someone outside of her family. She had stopped trying for the affection of others a long while back. She had convinced herself that love was an illusion, that it wasn't real, and that it was a sociological need that did not need to be met, though it might be nice.. As she coyote told her that her presence was desired, it felt like a huge weight had just been lifted from off her shoulders. She felt like a feather, not knowing if she should be floating or falling.

"I am far from normal." The hybrid said with a small smirk creeping across her coal black lips. Yuki jumped back, startled by the sound of a seagull flying overhead. In the creases between the clouds, rays of Father Energy shined onto her black fur. She couldn't tell exactly how long they had until night fall, but she guessed one of the first things they should do is find shelter. "Coyote.. Er, Rosa..." She did not know how the creature would react to her shortening her name, so she changed it quickly "I meant Rosario, forgive my mistake" She let her apology hang mid air, "You..-Um, we should seek a place to stay for the.. Remainder of time we will be spending together.." Her words were rushed and sloppy, but she didn't know how to speak without scaring off the coyote. Worrying that she had just made a fool of herself, she looked down at her paws nervously. She looked at the curvature at the tip of her nails, it helped her get a good grip when tearing flesh. The base of he claws were a dark black, but as it got closer to the tip it twisted into a bright white. "You are stupid Yuki, just stupid." The words her mother had once said a long while ago bounced around in her head; as if they were trying to find an exit that didn't really exists.

Word Count: 763, Points: 5 ;; Sorry this took sooo long.

Several moments after her deep, meaningful admission of her terrible longing, Rosario stared off into the distance. The depths of her optics became blurred and unfocused as memories danced before them – memories of times long past that had made her into who she was today. Really, her life could’ve taken off in so many other directions if she had just made wiser choices. Rosario didn’t consider the fact that everyone had their woes and that someone just might understand her anguish. She liked to believe that in another course of life she would be happy and carefree. The grass is always greener on the other side, as they say.

The coyote’s vision snapped back into focus on her companion’s face as Yuki began to speak again. One might say her meaningful words of love confused Rosario, who hadn’t experienced passion of that sort before. Never having a lover, a fling, or even a crush during the brutal reality of her harsh upbringing had made her rather inept at the whole thing. The fast paced lifestyle, no nonsense attitude, and complete isolation from her pack members had only allowed Rosario to develop affection for her mother and brothers. Besides, she was always too busy trying to prove to the world that she wasn’t the useless bastard child that she was labeled to be. That sort of agenda made it rather difficult to waste precious time on silly pursuits of the heart.

Though related to her in Spanish, Rosario responded quietly in English for Yuki’s sake. ”I do no wish to hold orr touch unless it es to kill rrabit forr dinerr,” was her firm answer. She punctuated the supreme importance of the comment with a curt nod of her head, which yet again set the little silver bell to its pleasant clanging. Then she gave Yuki a rather odd look and asked, ”What es point to that? It only waste time.” Having not had parents that were loving and affectionate to each other, Rosario had never witnessed the joys that mate-hood could bring. The whole thing completely baffled the poor, young canine.

The next comment also brought a slight chuckle from Rosario. The laughter was light and airy with the smoothness of pure silk against the ears. Such a sound could be considered a rarity when issued from an uptight creature like her. It was over as quick as it came, carried into the past by moment after unending moment. ”Who es trruly norrmal, afterr all?” She lilted with a grin that showed the white rows of her small, needle-like teeth. Normalcy was hard to define in the wild world that the two lived in. It was even harder to achieve, and nigh impossible to maintain.

No matter the situation or reasoning behind them, quick movements always caused Rosario to jump into alertness, as she startled quite easily. One moment she was allowing herself to slowly become at ease in the presence of her rescuer, and the next she was on her feet and ready to defend herself. Yuki’s quick response to the shrill call of a sea gull was enough to completely raise all of the coyote’s walls again, slightly damaging some of the progress that had been made. For several moments, Rosario’s head was down to protect the vulnerable flesh of her throat as she angled her body away in order to open up a path of escape. She kept the majority of her weight off of her injured right leg and tucked it protectively beneath her body. Several tense seconds passed before she realized it had been a false alarm and began to loosen her muscles. However, the damage had been done.

Rosario squinted her eyes a bit, once again guarded, as she stared into the yellow and blue gaze that was focused on her. There was no threat to be found in their depths, only concern for the injury. True, it was doubtful she would make it back to the Inferni lands tonight. The smell off her blood would probably attract some larger predator or a hungry Luperci that would finish off the wounded coyote. Not good. She rolled her shoulders a bit to work off some of the knots that had accumulated over the stressful months before looking around at the beach. She hadn’t even noticed the shortening of her name in light of everything else. ”This es trrue. Do you know any place, senorita Yuki? I am no farrmiliarr with this arrea,” Rosario admitted. She added shortly afterwards, ”I can no swim. The salt water will irrrritate wound.”

Yayy, your back. :3

Yuki gave a coy grin as the coyote's words pierced her ears. "Is that so?" She questioned taking a step back a staring at her, "Your eyes seem to tell a completely different story, my dear.." She said shaking her head as she chuckled gently, trying not to offend the creature as she laughed at her. "The only one," She said pausing to lick her lips and rethink the words, trying to figure out a way to give them a mixture of wisdom and humor "The only one who would know why you would want a relationship, is yourself. She decided to just restate her entire sentence, letting her words hang in the salt air for the coyote to absorb along with her next breath.

When she glanced back at the shoreline, she tried to put her finger on what had been so funny. The words were shot from the coyote's mouth like knifes, but as they reached her they seemed strangely dull. As her laughter quieted she began to wonder if she had only laughed because she wanted to hide her own sadness "You can honestly tell me that you've never wondered what it would be like? She asked dryly, her throat tightening. She pondered what the chances were that she was the only one who had dreamed of love without ever experiencing it. Then even with the coyotes presence, she felt the feeling of loneliness all over again. If she turned the sorrow to anger, she would just hurt someone else, but if she let the sadness stay, she would feel as if she let herself break down for no reason. Thus, it was settled, she would not shed a single tear until it was dark enough for them to be hidden.

As Yuki stabilized her feelings, trying to ignore them the best she could, she listened quietly as the coyote spoke again. "I'm not sure I know this area much better then you.." She swallowed hard as she tried once again to rid of the lump in her throat, "I'm sure I could find some place. If you truly don't consider me sticking around as a bother." She tried to avoid eye contact with the coyote, for she wanted her to be unaware of her feelings. Her bi-coloured orbs looked over the beach, searching for some place to call a home, even if only for a night. Not far away, she spotted a series of rocks aligned in almost a perfect half moon next to a large boulder. "You.. We-, could rest there for the night.." She choked on her words as they spilled out of her mouth, trying to figure out how to place the word 'we'. She moved towards the a lined rocks, padding along in the sand and checking behind her to insure that the coyote was keeping up.
