all welcome for pack members

Light streamed into the room from various cracks and openings. Under the door, between the window frame and the blanket that covered it. It made for deep shadows, blurred highlights and a flicker of energy that brought Anu to life. Her head rose from the blankets, blue eyes blinking sleep our of their corners. Black nose took in the scents around her, but they had not changed for weeks now. The room was filled with her fragrance, as well as those that lay beside her.

The three pups nestled happily, content with sleeping in the darkness that the closed room gave. Anu knew differently. It was time to wake, time to return to the world even if it was just for a few hours. Her life had ended the moment she had brought the trio into the world, and it had begun all over again once they had cried and spoke of their arrival. She nosed the largest, his tawny body stirring at his mother’s wantings. She licked the black smudged face, as if to remove the stain the colored around his eyes. Another spoke up, whines and chirps as he stood in protest against the attention directed towards his brother.

With silence Anu rose, sniffing at the third and darkest. His molted fur was painted with dark browns and blacks that Anu did not recognize in herself. Cypress woke, yawned and pawed at her as Anu moved to the door. The door opened, and light flooded her eyes making the squint momentarily. The Lt. General took a few steps out into the hallway, only to look back and see if they would follow. Without any encouragement they did, with noses on the ground, eyes wandering. Slowly the fey made her way into the common area of the Manor, and towards the door.

It had only been a few days earlier than Ghita had began tottering around without her brace attached to her leg. Now, the damaged knee was exposed for all to see, unable to hide behind the safety of the wooden contraption. Still, her large wooden walking stick remained a constant companion to the fae, causing a solid 'thunk' of wood to echo wherever she wished to walk. Shifting still remained a painful prospect where before it seemed a fluid movement between two bodies. Seeing as the bones had to shift and elongate as she shifted forms, the fractured bone protested loudly whenever the process was attempted.

So Ghita remained an Optime, supporting her leg and broken frame on two legs, using the walking stick to maneuver. And it was now that she hobbled around from her room, expertly clambering over the stairs to reach the common area of the manor with ease. Her intent was to head out the door nearby and explore the territories around Crimson Dreams, perhaps aid in a border patrol once more, but her senses quickly sought out different plans.

Anu's scent wafted through the small manor, along with the heavy milk-scent of newborn puppies coated with the standard Crimson Dreams fare. A smile growing across her face now, Ghita flicked her studded ears, locating the newest offspring with honed senses. Once she reached the common area, the fae tapped her walking stick on the floor twice, softly, to announce her arrival. Turquoise optics sparkling with warmth, the mother smiled, recognizing the all-too-familiar picture of new mother and fresh, new lives darting around her. "Anu, it's good to see you. How do you feel?" Remembering all too well the exhaustion that had gripped her after giving birth to Sophia and Aro, she inquired with concern hinting in her tone.

yayyyyyyyy!

In the confines of her small room things had been very manageable. There was no place for them to wander and no place to loose them. But compared to the closed-door room the manor was massive, and Anu began to fear that she might foolishly misplace one. She trotted after Oak, his russet color was only now showing itself beyond the darkness that they were all born with. The other's trotted after her as she herded Oak back into the small jumbled pack that they had become. A small face hit her hind paw as Anu came to an abrupt stop. Bright blue eyes looked up at her as the mother glanced back to see Alder staring at her, always ready for her next move and happy to follow it. Carefully She told them all, her voice soft calm and collect though inside she was growing a bit unsure.

A noise broke her train of thought, a clunk against the wooden floors of their house. The Lt. General turned to see Ghita approaching. There was instant relief in her face, her breath giving a sigh from her throat. Pleased to see her pack member Anu gave a smile. The boys stayed at her paws obediently, their eyes watching as the wolfess came towards them, their small ears turning to take in her accented voice. Its good to see you too Ghita. Anu spoke as she looked at the other's leg. It had been so unfortunate that she had been injured so severely in the fall of the old barn. The blue eyed woman was so grateful that she was up and around, making progress and that her spirits were high. With their mothers greeting the trio made their way to greet their fellow packmate with small whines and wagging tails.

The presence of another allowed Anu to relax. She was sure her calm demeanor would return soon, as she got adjusted to watching over her young and became confident in their small wanderings I'm good, I feel as if my energy has returned. How is your leg? She replied and questioned with a soft smile, her eyes watching the little male puppies as they examined this new face. Boys, this is Ghita. Anu explained, her voice a bit hushed though she knew that they would retain little of what she spoke to them and yet she did so often. Ghita, this is Oak, Alder and Cypress. She introduced them with the point of her nose, from light furred to the darkest. Cypress was not the pitch black of a night shaded wolf, but he felt more black then Anu had ever owned, reminding her of his sire the most.

I was thinking about sitting outside, would you join us? Anu looked to the teal colored eyes with the invitation.

Meeting her packmate's smile with one of her own, the fae was reminded, as she frequently was, of the calming, reassuring feeling that she was subject to around Anu. The silvery fae was her sister's second in command, and so by proxy they knew of each other, but the time actually spent with the other was sadly lacking. Now, finally, the two shared something in common, and it seemed that the fates themselves were cheering the two femmes on for the day's meeting.

Watching the pups with turquoise orbs sparkling with delight, the first emotion Ghita could come up with was awe at their obedience. She couldn't remember well, as the days and weeks rolled together as a mother, but it seemed almost impossible that Sophia and Aro had been that well behaved at their age. And there had been two parents to watch them to boot! This revelation suddenly stung Ghita, and the thought burned at the back of her mind all the while.

Unable to keep herself from smiling at the youngsters, the injured fae lowered herself to the ground, keeping the one leg as straight as could be, while morphing into a half-crouch. Murmuring soft whispers of greeting to them, her hands extended to them, allowing her ivory-tipped fingers to be sniffed and nibbled at, all the while seeking out the golden spot right behind the ear to scratch. Her pups had long since grown from this stage, and she was all too aware of the blessings they brought every day - she could only hope and imagine that Anu felt these emotions too.

Quickly enough, the conversation turned to darker topics, specifically one she'd hoped to keep in the shadows. Barely able to keep the downward pulling of her lips to just a bare twitch, she gave a nod to hide her discomfort, bringing up her unoccupied hand to push her hair out of her face. It had only been a few weeks previously that she and Mati had sat down, the student learning quickly from the artistic master, but the progress between then and now on her healing seemed miniscule at best.

Remembering the occasion with more fondness than regret however, she turned her emotions around as best she could, bringing to voice more truth than usual. "Not as good as I'd hoped, but better than before, so progress is always good." Shrugging of the discomfort as she rose back to her feet, the fae took care to place the walking stick well out of the way of tiny, investigating paws as her weight was supported, the body drawing itself up with well-practiced ease.

"Beautiful names for even more beautiful puppies, Anu. Congratulations." Smiling down at them once more, she almost didn't hear Anu's question until a few moments had gone by, where she calmly lifted her head from the engrossing world of puppies, before letting her eyes sparkle once more with delight. "I'd love that.'

lulz

Anu had hated what had happened to Ghita and Cambria that day at the barn. She had never found out what brought her daughter and Cambi to that place, but it was far from a wise choice. But of course it had been an accident and no one could have known that such a thing would have happened on that day, that very hour. It could have been any one of them that had been crushed. Ghita could have been killed. Anu knew how fortunite to still have Ghita alive, but hated to see anyone close to her in pain. The relation between Savina and the fey that stood before her gave them an instant connection, just as strongly as the long standing membership that two fey's held. Anu found it easy to be in the company of the Marino female just as she did when with Savi. As always Anu was hope filled and sure about a bright futre for all of them. Of course the complications were present and alive in her thoughts, still Anu pushed past them and spoke wishfully. I'm sure you will keep moving forward. You know I'm here if you ever need anything. Anu still tired easily, but she was able bodied and could hunt if the female ever needed it. Of course, she was better suited to be a shoulder to lean on and a open-minded ear to listen.

The puppies were unlike anything Anu had ever known, their one month old little bodies were filled with energy and still so fragile. The transformation that they were going under was something fast and yet slow for the new mother. Every day she noticed something different, though they were larger and doing things that she was sure couldn't have the day before. And then, she was able to savor the newness. Take in the world from their slower moving minds. She had spent hour examining them in their small little room, and yet there was so much about them that had yet to come to light. The Lt. General was ever so proud, a feeling that was familiar from the experience of Naniko's litter and yet new in the fact that she had given birth to them. There was a connection there, so deep Anu had never know it existed as to had lived above it.

Thank you Ghita. Anu spoke softly, meaning every bit of it. Such a thing said by another mother, as well as a close pack member meant something very special to Anu. She was happy to see that her friend would join them outside. Boys. Anu called, looking for the three to follow her outside. They turned at the sound of their mother's voice, and wobbled after her, though Alder returned immediately with as much haste as his body could muster. The wolfess led them out into the bright world, four pairs of blue eyes blinking against the light. She looked to the taller fey, Please Ghita, pick a spot where you'll be comfortable.

Wc: 453

Only another curt nod was offered to the silvery-furred fae, the younger mother trying to mask her discomfort at her injury being discussed. Although Anu was two years older, many ranks higher and, in Ghita's eyes, much more experienced than she was, the Lieutenant General couldn't read minds, couldn't possibly guess at the true discomfort her soul was under. The Marino fae trusted Anu, certainly, but it was more of a courtesy she offered to the other to hide her feeling, a wish not to strain the young mother further.

Once the lives you'd been carrying had finally birthed into the world, nothing else mattered. Nothing but their safety, their happiness - everything relating to them. It was a world that was mostly inconceivable to any but parents, and once that world of parenthood had been entered, it was impossible to turn back, turn away from it. Ghita could now see that wonder in Anu's eyes, how her movements almost seemed to revolve around whatever her three boys were doing. Remembering with fondness her own first months of motherhood, Ghita was more than happy to share this experience with Anu as much as she could.

Sensing the four fellow pack members rise and prepare to move, Ghita couldn't help but let her whole demeanor relax and crinkle in amusement and joy as the three pups, much like small ducklings, waddled after their mother happily. Following the last pup in line outside, she instinctively watched all twelve tiny paws as they danced around, smelling the fresh air for one of the first times. Quickly settling down even before the invitation was extended, the fae sat at the edge of the patio, keeping the damaged leg extended as straight and comfortable as it could be.

Admittedly, she hadn't been very talkative, and the sole reason behind that was that the fae had a heavy weight preying on her mind, a new, fresh one. Opening her mouth once to try and express what she needed to, Ghita quickly closed it once more, attempting to gather her thoughts. "Anu, will you be alright raising these three on your own?" She ventured cautiously, turquoise optics misted in concern. "I'd be.. quite happy to help you with them, if you'd like."

Of course, the whole of the pack would help the new mother, as they had time and time before, and would continue to. But it was more experience that Ghita was offering, as her own children had entered the period of independence enough to not need the constant watching Anu's did. And of course, Ghita had had Jazper to help watch the two puppies, and Anu didn't have a mate to help, and an extra pup to boot.

no plan actually, since it wouldn't be such a big deal since shes gay herself xD

Misfortune did not bypass anyone. Pain and unhappiness could not be avoided forever. To believe that it could was foolish, even selfish if one thought that they were beyond its grasp. What made it possible to keep going was the pack. Because of this understanding Anu had always found closure in the pack, comfort in her friends and family. She did not see the true pain that Ghita felt, the female had been in the thralls of that sorrow for form time and no doubt was practiced in the ways of concealing it. Anu could only hope, believe that she was making progress, and wish that she would be healed one day.

The five wolves made their way out the door, the new summer air rushed into all their noses as the made their way outside. Anu blinked against the light, eyes staring out into the open for a prolonged moment. The world had not changed, and she felt a bit foolish for thinking that the outside would have been different just as her small world was not the same now that her sons had been born. But it wasn’t disheartening, only comforting. Completely comforting.

Ghita sat at the end of the porch and Anu sat beside her. Blue eyes looked over her, closed slightly with the warmth of the Sun on her face and a happy sigh escaping her chest. Her god was sitting high above them, his raze an even greater comfort. Alder clung to her side, touching her when ever she became still. His dark paws settled and black smudged face stared out as his mother’s did, then followed her gaze to the tall wolfess. His brothers wandered to the steps, their mother becoming tense as she allowed them to venture on their own.

With her packmate’s question Anu brought her bright water colored gaze back to her timber pattered face. It was a question that she asked herself everyday since she found out that she was pregnant. It took her a moment to find the answer, allowing Ghita to give her offering of assistance. The Lt. General smiled softly at her friend, her voice sounding just as softly. I guess I don’t know, She admitted, answering the question. but I was confident bringing them into the world knowing that I have the pack. She relied so heavily on them, Anu only hoped that she could be there when they needed her. I know I will need another pair of experienced eyes, I’d certainly appreciate that.

Anu lacked something she had wished she had for some time, a mate would have been there for her on a level no other could match. But in her world the last wolfess she had loved was gone, and the boys’ sire would be no true father to them. But what Anu lacked was present in all the others that she lived among. Her confidence lived in them.

Alder nestled beside her, blue orbs looking out towards his siblings that meandered around the steps. He whined, and Anu made her way to assist the little bothers down the steps and onto their first natural surface. When she had plopped all three onto the greenery she looked up at the other fey, I was so scared for them before they were born, then I didn’t think I could be anymore frightened. But the world is scary… Anu trailed off as her thoughts were once again diverted. Oak and Cypress were content in their new playground while Alder stared up at her, no doubt wondering what her next move would be.

XD That's true. And sorry for the wait! DX

Wc: 677

The summer heat was obvious, sinking in like an old friend into the mothers' and pups' very bones. The day couldn't help but serve to stir a memory for Ghita, remembering the first time she'd taken Sophia and Aro outside. The world hadn't changed, much as Anu was realizing now, but her whole perspective had changed. Not only in the sense that the vast, wide world of Crimson Dreams could easily pose a threat to her children, but all of her values had rearranged themselves, the pelts of her two children taking precedent over anything else.

Lowering herself down to the porch, her muscles stretched and groaned as they were dragged into use, growing lazy in inaction. Pierced ear flicking as Anu sat beside her, the turquoise-orbed fae fiddled with her walking stick, unease slowly shrinking into a ghost of a companion, the fae allowing herself to relax in the simplicity of the day's wonder. Meeting Alder's eyes with a grin wider than her pack had seen of late, she gently wagged her ivory fingers in his direction, amusing the pup as best as she could without the use of her leg.

She couldn't pretend not to notice Anu's body growing tense as her two more adventurous boys headed towards the edge of the porch; With three vastly different pups, Anu would have her paws more than full with trying to keep them in line - something Ghita was all too familiar with. It was a mother's communal instinct to watch over the littlest of present company that kept her gaze trained on Oak and Cypress as they wandered, even as Anu's mothering did the same. Besides, it was easier for the mother of two to watch them instead of Anu at this time, especially as the question she asked was balancing delicately in the state of indecision.

Nodding slowly, Ghita could do anything but relate to Anu's situation. She hadn't had a clue of who the father of Anu's pups were, and didn't feel the need to press her on it. Whatever decisions Anu had made that led her to her current situation were her own; Hers to remember, hers to regret, hers to revere - For Ghita to pretend that it was her business would be blasphemy to her nature. She'd at least had Jazper around - knowing almost immediately that he would help her raise the pups.

Sure, their bundles of joy hadn't been planned, or expected, but that didn't mean that they were any less welcome. Ghita was fully prepared to raise them on her own, but hadn't had much time to dwell on that uncertainty - only a few minutes, if her memory served correctly. After all, it was just after she and Savina had discovered her pregnancy than the culprit had wandered onto the scene and pledged his love - and his devotion. And she'd returned it without looking back.

"I'd be more than happy to help wherever I can." She said, her voice softer and less accented than it'd been in the past few months. Just because Anu didn't have a mate in the pack didn't mean she didn't have friends. Ghita was sure that she wasn't the only one who'd leap up to help Anu raise her boys - at the very least, Savina and Mati would help in a heartbeat, and Ghita was confident she could bully Jazper into lending a hand too.

Watching Anu help Alder down the stairs pricked at the memories of her own childhood, skidding over railings and scampering over any obstacle that stood in her way - something that carried over into her adulthood. Every obstacle but this one, it seemed. But perhaps Anu's gentle action served as a metaphor for her own condition - after Alder had been helped off the porch, he'd be more than capable to play with his siblings on his own.

"Yes, the world is a scary place, at times. But at our best, we can take the danger, take the fear, and be evermore stronger for it."

noooo worries!

Blue eyes, the color of sky and clean water, looked down at the three pups. Two explored, their noses working feverishly to find all the new things that hid in this different world outside their confined room. Alder watched her, and Anu pushed him with her nose. His head moved downwards, eyes looking at his brothers. The mother started to move away and back up the porch steps to sit beside her friend. Dark smudged face looked back at her, a long whine escaping his small snout. But the mother could not baby him, and she sat lightly on her behind with Ghita’s words echoing in her ears.

She was blessed, even if it wasn’t very obvious at one’s first glance. There were some that thought they had it all, but their relationships were false and hollow. Their wealth meaningless and their powers a façade. Anu was genuine, and she believed and felt that her life was the same. Those around her were real and honest, her family not of blood but tied closer to her then any genetics. She felt blessed, even without a lover, even without a partner, but because of those that still loved her through out these past years.

These puppies were more then a blessing. The time and energy that they would take from her were gifts she was more then willing to give and Anu felt that it was nothing less then a miracle that they had been conceived and came into this world without complication. The female had never forgotten her age, and how it might affect them. And she did not forget it now that she was graced with the task of raising them. Alder watched his mother for a few prolonged moments, and then turned to make his way towards his brothers. A small push, Anu thought, it seemed that it was all he needed.

Anu looked to Ghita as she spoke, her smile soft and filled with the contentment that she felt. I believe you are doing that now. You are stronger then I am Ghita She spoke of the other wolfess’ body as well as spirit. The Lt. General had fallen to things much less terrible then a broken leg. Anu thought back to the things that had pulled her down and made her feel like life was impossible to continue. Nothing compared to what Ghita faced, nothing seemed to be as bad and Anu could not imagine another that could have dealt with it as bravely.

Wc: 269~

Blinking in surprise at Anu's statement, the femme looked aside with her eyes alone, feeling unease and guilt prickle just under her skin. She certainly didn't feel as strong as Anu made her out to be. Sure, she'd lived through a miscarriage, a mate's betrayal, drug habits, childbirth, and injury, but that certainly didn't mean that Ghita felt stronger for it. If anything, she felt neutral - she'd been around the bush, but hadn't grown any different from it. Again, Ghita wasn't sure of how much Anu knew of her past, but in any case, Ghita felt as if Anu was wrong to think that she was strong. "Thank you."

Staring at Alder now, catching up to his two siblings, the fae instinctively tried to make small talk, searching in her mind for a topic that would lead them from the situation Ghita was straining against. "Anu, how did you name your pups?" It was a simple topic, yet an important one all the same - Ghita and Jazper had spent many a night pondering what to name them, eventually coming up with a list of names, both male and female, and had decided shortly after the birth as to their official names. Anu hadn't had her mate, or lover, to help decide the names, and it was a mystery as to the origin of their names. Her knowledge of plants was sketchy at best, but she knew that Oak and Cypress were both trees, and sensed a pattern afoot. It'd make sense, at least, Anu being the pack's Horticulturalist, but wanted to see if her hunch was correct.

It was common to underestimate one’s self, and it was understandable for Ghita to think that she was not as powerful as she had become. She was only flesh and bones just like the rest of them, and had been vulnerable to injury but it did not mean that she could not grow stronger from it. How many would be able to survive the pain that a broken leg gave? Anu was sure she wouldn’t have been able to. Though there was still weakness in her, something that she might have looked at the moment Anu spoke and concluded that the words were false and light hearted hope, the elder Dreamer could see beyond it. They all had flaws and were weak at times, but it did not mean that they could not be strong as well. Even the tallest oldest tree still owned small brittle twigs, weak and fragile leaves, but they were what gave it its grace and beauty.

A nod was given, believing that there was doubt in Ghita’s mind. The fey could feel the change in her body as they sat beside each other, like the steady rhythm of her breath had stopped. But Anu kept her eyes on the pups, steady in her watching as well as her breath and spoke with a light tone, You have always been deserving of the truth. She looked to the fey, her smile a bit brighter.

A small bought of silence, which Anu did not mind, was broken with a small question. Oh… She began, thinking back to when she had been contemplating what their names would be. Anu had not picked anything out solidly until they were born. But she had know they would be named after species of trees. I wanted to honor something close to me, and trees had always been part of my life just as all plants. I had a few picked out before they were born, but when I saw them I knew they need strong names for strong boys. She paused, then asked her own question. Will you and Jaz have more puppies?

Bahhh, I'm so slow lately! DX I hate it!

All too familiar was the sensation of her ears burning, the prickle of embarrassed grace that the fae usually responded with when complimented. Anu had a way of making the fae feel respected and special - a feeling that few wolves in her life could. Savina, Ehno, and Jazper, obviously, were among those - but for Anu, who she didn't know that well, to be included, made it all the more special. For Anu held a high rank among the pack - and for Anu to say such things to Ghita without knowing her as long as her siblings had, well, that was special indeed.

At first fearing that she'd overstepped some boundaries, Ghita snuck a quick look to her companion out of the corner of her eyes. The sigh that Anu had breathed after Ghita had asked about her pups was slightly worrisome, although the timber fae couldn't piece together why that might be an issue. So for now, she just let out a soft sigh, bringing her good leg to her chest and wrapping her arms around that leg, giving Anu her full attention that wasn't wavering on the young pups.

"Hmm.. indeed, that does make sense." Nodding in contemplation, Ghita couldn't help but agree with Anu - her boys were already exploring at a faster rate that Ghita had expected. Almost guiltily, she wondered what would've happened if Ghita had named her own pups after her co-rank's skill - would Sophia end up being called "rabbit", and Aro "mouse"?

But Anu's question was completely out of left field. She hadn't even given the prospect much thought, if any. "Umm..." Both her facial expression and stiff posture made it clear that this was startling, and Ghita was completely unsure of how to respond. "To tell you the truth, Jaz and I haven't given it much thought at all..."

no worries! & anu is vague sometimes ><::

To Anu there were few things in life that were more important then being honest. The female hated, thought she disliked using such a strong word, someone that felt that need to lie. The wolfess was not one of the written word, she was not one to create things of great worth and lasting. But she was one of her word, and took the word of others as seriously as she projected her own. Having grown up in a world that did not have a written code or law, it was the word of their elders that ruled them and the word of one another that created love and trust among them. Truth, it was the only thing that would keep them moral and it was what they all deserved.

Her boys were be taught the very same, and she was already speaking to them about the ways of a pure heart and honest voice. Their names would tell them and others of their strength and of how their hearts were rooted deeply into the world around them. Ghita seemed to understand how she felt, and that brought a light to her eye. She was a simple creature and names came from the world around her and the stories from the beyond, as her own short name did. But those stories were faded from the tawny fey’s mind and so she was left to draw from the world she knew well, and the world of plants and trees was always fresh in her thoughts.

Her idea did not seem misplaced to Anu, for puppies roamed the green grass that littered the Manor’s front yard and Ghita was a mother herself. Her sister was a mother of two litters, Anu could only imagine that the Lieutenant had thought of a second herself. But the reaction that came from the younger wolfess was not a smoothly portrayed as Anu had asked the question.

You have plenty of time to consider it. Anu assured her with a calm tone, not wanting her to think that she was making assumptions or pushing the couple into something that they were not ready for or even thinking about it. For Anu, she had reached her goal and she would not challenge herself again to such a task. Her life had changed enough, and she had found contentment in this new phase of her existence. Blue eyes looked out at the puppies, watching them and making sure that they did not venture too far. Of course their uneasy legs and their insecurities kept them close to one another. And life will take you there when it thinks you are both ready. She turned to smile at the other fey, a soft little grin. Life had told her it was her turn and Anu had not believed herself ready, but she had been.

This'll be the last post until I get back from the cottage - no internet there. ;-; And Anu is wonderful, hush. x3

Wc: 318 ~

Anu's simple question had launched a flurry of panicked thoughts to whirl around Ghita's mind. She hadn't even thought about the possibility of another litter in her near - or distant future! Her very first litter with Carlo had ended in a tragic miscarriage, and it had taken Ghita a long timeo both physically and psychologically get over the loss. But even then, her second litter had been an accident - a lovely accident which neither of them regretted in the slightest, but an accident all the same. Were they ready to take on another litter, especially with Ghita's leg in her terrible condition?

And what did Jazper think about all of this?! He had never brought up the possibility of another litter to her, but she knew it was on his mind. Ever since they'd met, he'd always wanted to be surrounded by many litters of his children, and settle down - that was his way, his nature. Ghita's was different, and it was on this fundamental difference that the danger remained. Ghita wasn't sure she was ready to settle down at all. It was hard enough being tied to the pack's land with a mate, siblings, and one litter of pups - would another one break her at last?

Finally calming herself down from her mental state, her posture hadn't changed from when Anu had posed the question. Gently chewing on her snake bites that resided in her lower lip, she nodded sagely, literally "chewing" on the possibility. "I suppose so. I just wish that I had the same amount of faith as you do." The timber fae had been raised without a set belief in any religion, and it was a mystery what her brother thought. Ghita knew her sister believed in various spirits and Gods & Goddesses, but Ghita simply didn't know. What if life and timing got it wrong this time for Ghita?

Such a thing would always take time, and such an idea was one that could be thought upon by the mated pair. It was not meant to make Ghita nervous, Anu had not assumed that she was thinking of more puppies but simply wondered if she had. The Lt. General remained calm, not fighting to ease the other female’s nervousness or tension with her own. It was best to allow the feelings that rolled through the others mind to fade smoothly and naturally until they left her.

Her words were filled with that doubt. Anu could understand how it felt to not know what the future would bring. She had been unsure how this pregnancy would end. It was her very first, a mistake she had made and if Savina had not told her Anu would have known until she felt them kick inside her. But it was faith in herself, faith in the world around her that she believed in. The world she lived in was one filled with love, support and even though she had her own weaknesses life had showed her that her strengths could outweigh them.

Time will restore your strength, and faith will not be far. Anu looked at the female, her body would return to it’s rightful power and so would Ghita’s hope and faith in herself. Growling made her ear turn, head following after a single second. Though he was larger the mother found Alder on his back, the darker Cypress straddling his submissive postured body.

The Dreamer’s face changed, becoming stern. Without a word she jumped form the porch, her nose pushing between the two boys and eyeing the dominate brother with a silent glare. Then, once the lesson had been taught she blew warm air into the puppies face and plucked Alder off the grass and brought him to sit with the females on the porch. He wiggled beside Ghita, blue eyes staring up at her with a curious gaze. Tentatively he sat beside her, eyes not leaving her face in the hopes that she would accept his request to stay beside her.

Do you want to look at wrapping this up soon-ish?

If she stopped to give it some thought, Anu and Ghita had had similar first pregnancies. While Ghita formerly had Carlo to help her through it, he was as clueless as she was, and it took another pack member to notify her of her condition. She couldn't be sure, but she thought Savina had done the same for Anu. And it was a staple for any wolf's first pregnancy to be surrounded by worry about a miscarriage, only the worry had brought different results for both faes. As well, both pregnancies had been accidents; Happy, welcome accidents, but accidents all the same.

Gracing her companion with a lopsided grin, Ghita gave a small laugh, staring at the puppies that now romped around the lawn just beyond the talking mothers. Her ears betrayed her nonchalant air, however, as they drooped a little bit at the tips. "How do you do it, Anu? How do you keep so much faith in your heart?" Only one of the many reasons she admired the fae, it was her belief that everything would work out that stood out most for Ghita right now. While the younger fae floundered in uncertainty and worry, Anu seemed to be calm as a rock. "I envy you for it."

Ghita's reaction was only a few milliseconds behind Anu's. Trained to react to any suspicious noises as a huntress, it was the timber fae's maternal instincts that now propelled her, turquoise optics trained on the scuffling puppies. Her immediate reaction was to stand and join Anu, but her leg was stiff in reaction, the fae tumbling from the half-foot she had managed to rise to back onto the porch. Scowling, she barely kept her tongue from unleashing a litany of Italian swears for the pups' sakes, and sighed, watching Anu tend to her puppies quite skillfully all on her own.

Blinking at her sudden much smaller companion, Ghita's shamed and angered mood quickly disappeared at Alder's simple gaze, his endless blue eyes staring into hers and moving to sit beside her. Gently, almost as if she was holding a butterfly, she held out her ivory-tipped fingers for Alder to sniff, before scratching the boy behind his ear in her own pups' favourite place. "Scuffling not your style, eh, Alder?"

end here? or one more? Its up to you ^-^

It had taken so much time and so much disappointment as well as joy for the Dreaming leader to gain the serenity that she had come to own. It filled her now, but just as any Anu could loose it easily and without much of a warning. But there it was held, and even if it did slip from her fingers she knew how to regain it. She had come to find that this was the key to it all, even if it left she needed to be able to gain it again. It was like forgiveness, it was like hope. It could be lost or reneged, but as long as it returned to the one that needed it most life would be right.

She blamed her age, Experience. She gave a small laugh, knowing that there was so much more too it and that she was far from as perfect and forever faith filled as Ghita made it sound. Everything can be learned in time, but it helps knowing that there is something greater then you that helps set your course. She knew that each beast made their own way, and that had that freedom of choice was to hold fate in your hand. But there was something that set their way, and something that was just beyond their sight and their control.

Alder was not one to seek that attention of others, but the small pet made his head turn to the side, cock unevenly and Anu looked to his foot-paw before it even started to thump like a rabbit. Anu looked to the Italian female and smile, knowing that there were so many feelings and most were negatively projected at herself. Water eyes looked to her face, a soft smile given. It will come back Ghita. her voice quiet, like she wished for it to pass solely between them. She spoke of her strength, her freedom, and most importantly her faith. She then looked out into the distance, watching the other brothers tumble over each other.

Wc: 279 ~

Ghita's laugh joined Anu's as the source was cited as experience. It was true, Anu was a fair bit older than she was, but that wasn't to say that Ghita didn't have a fair share of experience. Maybe it was something that was gained with experience that Ghita somehow missed, or wasn't open to accepting - that made sense. After their laugh, the timber fae settled into a subtle smile, wondering just how much experience someone needed before they reached the official 'Anu' state of seemingly endless serenity and faith.

She was easily just about to ask how Anu knew there was something greater than them that helped set their course, or so Anu said. Ghita hadn't been brought up with a certain religion, and this was perhaps evident in her actions. She was happy without it, however, knowing that she had faith in herself and Jazper to bring them through the smaller disasters at least. So maybe that was it? Just trusting those around you enough to be able to pull you out of trouble? Who knew in the end, really?

It was amazing how quickly she could be distracted and her mood could flip with the simple presence of Alder. The young puppy didn't know anything of Ghita's problems or her troubled past, and he didn't know her very well either, but it was the simple fact that he trusted her, or seemed to, and he knew nothing more than the joy of contact - that was something to treasure. Maybe puppies were much wiser than their mothers and fathers, and it was something they lost as they grew up. "I hope you're right, Anu. Thank you."
