Staring at a Long Gone City
#1
[html]

Element sat in front of what seemed to be a city; he'd heard about cities from his mother when he was a kitten. They were large in the time of the humans, she'd said, and looked like great, smooth mountains, rising from the earth with shining glass windows and cold metal steel. She said that they were enormous, and full of humans - humans, she had said, looked like a Luperci but with no fur and with much shorter snouts. Element wondered what they looked like, and what the cities looked like - because what he saw surely wasn't what the humans lived in.

There were crumbling stone pillars, overtaken by vines and mosses. Many of the things there looked like enormous boxes, fit with shining clear stone and ornamented with various things inside. One of the huge buildings was completely covered in moss, making it look like a rather square tree.

Element walked inside the city, the soft earth beneath his feet cutting short and becoming hard concrete path decorated with various plants growing in the cracks. The road was warm on his feet, and he wondered what other animals had wandered here. The humans seemed to have had a comfortable lifestyle, he thought, imagining the buildings and roads whole again, with no residue of nature left on them.
