Private: for Princess

Anann started nearly every day the same. Finally having a place to call her own seemed to have made her feel rooted enough to settle back into a training routine. Though once the cool morning hours had pasted away, Anann freed herself from the dullness of a repetitive routine. Whether it be working on finishing the details of her home or simply goofing around with Anatoliy, it was rarely the same thing day after day. Lately she had been focusing on making clay bricks to build her fireplace with. The last batch still needed time to dry before she would be able to fire them. Since Anann didn't know what it was to be idle, she grabbed a large empty pack and started walking north.

The honey-hued woman tried to make what she needed and in most cases was able to do so. Though when it came to fabrics and linens she was left with little choice but to scavenge. Sadly, leather was not suitable for every application and she hardly wanted solely leather for bedding. Thinking of the things that she wanted to find, she reached the edge of Lunenberg before she knew it. She had been to the port town a few times, but had yet to really explore it. She chose the first house at random. The place was rough looking, but mostly intact. It was missing large patches of shingles and several the windows were busted out.

The place was as rough on the inside as it was on the outside. It appeared the roof leaked and the ceiling had sagged and fell away in spots. You never know what you might find though, so Anann started checking the closets. Bedding, towels, perhaps something she could use for drapes. Things of that sort were the focus of her search, completely ignoring the old clothing that still hung in the closets. Anann opened a door, expecting to find a bed room, instead she had hit the jackpot and found a linen closet. A few stacks of the folded towels and sheets were scattered about the floor where they had fallen long ago. Dark eyes searched over the stacks left on the shelves. Many were stained from the damage of water, though a few seemed untouched. Grabbing what she could easily carry out with her, Anann headed outside were she could get a better look and see if there was anything worth keeping.

300+ words.
I'm sorry for how long this took. ;-; I work too muuuuch...

Princess had resigned herself to looking around old houses within the territory for books to read. Her last visit to the library in Halifax had been a few months ago and she had not enjoyed that visit at all. It was the time she had run into Harlowe D'Angelo and their meeting had not been a very pleasant one. Haven had been able to make her feel better quickly and she was over the encounter entirely, but she did not want to risk running into anyone rude again. Remaining within her pack's territory seemed like a safer idea, anyway. The house she shared with Haven had not produced any new books magically, though, so Princess walked in the direction of Lunenburg, her petite form accented by the light pink sundress she had found such a long time ago in the city.

She did not have a particular destination in mind for the seaport town, so she began walking up and down streets aimlessly. It was not long before she found someone outside, someone she recognized from the meetings and celebrations, as well as from the pack hunt she'd attended with Niro, this woman, and the Russian man. "Hi... Anann, right? I remember you from the hunt," she added, just incase Anann did not recognize her. Niro had not remembered her name immediately, so it was possible that the older woman would not, either. Golden eyes looked down with interest, curious to know what it was that Anann was doing out in the town of Lunenburg today. The linens were curious, and Princess thought it was likely that the older woman had been looking for things for her own home, just as Princess had been. They were simply looking for different things, she suspected. Apparently Anann had found what she was looking for, too, while Princess still stood empty-handed.

I know all to well about this work thing you talk of...It has killed my posting time now as well ;_; obviously.

Once outside with her bundle of linens and things, Anann dropped them unceremoniously to the ground. One by one she unfolded the fabrics, inspecting them for any sort of damage. Whether it be holes from insects or rodents, or water stains and mold. She would rather not waste time and effort taking home things she wouldn't be able to use. Few of the items were perfect, but so long as the bad bits could be cut away without ruining the rest of the cloth, Anann would refold them and set them aside. Those that were beyond all repair were simply thrown in a wadded pile that she return into the rundown house were they could resume rotting away. It was unlikely that she would find everything she needed in one day, or even in the first house she searched.

She had only made it partially through the stack she had packed out of the house, when a familiar voice greeted her ears. Looking up to see who it was, a friendly smile spread across her maw as she recognized the woman. Anann had always been good with faces and names. "Hello Princess. Good to see you!" Nodding to confirm that she was indeed Anann. While she did not actively seek out her pack mates very often she enjoyed it when she did happen to run into someone. Especially those she did not yet know well. "How have Haven and you been?" Anann's eyes focused on the woman, as she folded the towel she had just been inspecting. The last time they had met they had been in four-legged forms. Though Anann had also seen the Chance woman at other various pack gatherings. She was a slight and delicate thing, quite unlike the honey hued woman, herself. A pretty little thing too, her hair always done up just so, and Anann had never seen her one two legs without a dress of some sort covering her form. Outwardly at least, she was the complete opposite of Anann.

ewww, work. ;-;

Princess was relieved to find that Anann remembered her and that she also seemed pleased to see her, as well. The young Chance woman had never been exceptionally good at making friends, and generally she only ever made mild acquaintances. She had moved around a lot in her life, so that had hindered her ability to make real friends, but only a tiny bit. In truth, that was a pretty bad excuse, and she knew it. The thruth was that she was just plain bad at making friends, and even just a few months ago, Princess had been pretty hard to get along with. Though she had matured some, it was not an entire change, and she still didn't have many friends here.

She smiled at the mention of Haven. Princess liked being associated with her mate, and she liked when others asked about him. The Knight was a well-liked and well-respected member of this pack, and she was lucky to have found him. "Haven and I are both good. He's busy a lot, doing his Knight duties," she answered, an almost dreamy tone entering her voice. It was so... perfect that she had found a knight and had become his Princess. Focusing on Anann again, she asked, "And how are you? What're you up to?" She glanced down at the linens again curiously.

Anann was glad to hear that Haven was doing well. He had still been recovering from his injuries when Anann had last seen him, though they had planned to spar sometime in the near future now that he was healed up. Anann couldn't help but smile at the look on her face, and the change in her voice as she spoke of her knight. He had a similar dreamy tone and blissful look to his face when had spoken of her. "It's sweet how you both get that blissful look on your face when talking about the other." A clear sign of the love they must share for one another. A thought of Anatoliy slipping into mind made her feel envious of the couple. More confused than ever as to were she stood with the Russian man. "You're both so lucky to have found such a love." Her words and smile were soft and warm.

Nothing too exciting had happened since the hunt and Anann had found herself slowly slipping into the slower paced lifestyle of the pack. It was a bit of an adjustment, but she liked it here quite well. "I've been well. I built a log cabin with the help of some of the pack not too long ago. I'm just look for some fabrics. Anann was quite the tomboy having grown up in the males' world. Decorating and style were not something that came by her natural. "I don't really know what I'm looking for exactly. Just some linens I guess, some towels. Maybe something I can use for drapes." She gave a shrug, sitting the folded towel down on the pile of items she intended to keep. "How bout you, what brings you to Lunenberg?" She asked, just trying to keep the conversation going and glad for the opportunity to get to know her pack mate a little better.

Princess felt the hint of a blush creep up over her cheeks at Anann's comment. Though it was not intentional, she knew that she was certainly guilty of using that tone of voice. She could not really help it; Haven just brought out the sighing, dreaming girl in her. He truly was wonderful, and she was so glad to have found him when she did. "Yeah, I know," she said with a sheepish grin. "I love him a lot, and I know we have something special that a lot of others never find." She paused, wondering if she wanted to get so personal with Anann, before deciding that yes, she did. Princess never hesitated when it came to prying into others' lives. "Have you ever found someone like that, that makes your stomach flutter so and your mind go blank for a moment?" She did not really need to know, but she was very curious.

"That must have been.. difficult, or fun, I guess, building it," she said, fumbling over the words a bit. She did not know much about manual labor, because Princess simply did not do it. She would never build her own house, though she would let someone else do it if they really wanted to. "I was just looking for books, I guess, and to get out of the house for a bit. Do you want some help looking for things you could use?" She could look for books any time, but she liked the idea of having company and helping Anann find things that would be useful for her.

post of fail

Perhaps it was simply because she spent so much of her time around males. Namely Heath, who was often a man of few words most of the time. Whatever it was, Anann was slightly surprised at the question, not used to such feelings find their way into casual conversation. Though, she didn't mind it and was all too familiar with the sensation. "I have," she said with a warm smile, not completely masking the feelings of confusion and hurt that had become entangled with thoughts of Anatoliy. "But, well..," she sighed, letting her words trail off. "Oh, I don't know.." After he had left so abruptly last time she wasn't sure where things stood. Catching herself getting caught up in thoughts of the Russian male, Anann gave a slight shake of her head as if to clear them away.

The day the walls of her home had gone up had been a fun day. In Anann's mind at least, if no one else. "It was, but it sounds a little more daunting than it really is. It's all about knowing how to go about it." It hadn't been the first Anann had worked with others to build walls from log and she hoped it would not be the last. Anann found more value in the things they could make for themselves than what they could salvage from a time past. Even if it wasn't always as glamorous "That'd be great, if you don't mind. You never know, we might just come across some books too." Anann hadn't noticed any books in this particular house, but she hadn't been looking for them either. "There's not much I do have, so if you see something that looks like its worth saving feel free to point it out." There wasn't much her new home didn't need, but Anann knew she could manage well enough with what she did have.

The Lady Chance knew the feelings of love so completely now, though she had never expected it to happen. She had fantasized for so long about finding someone so perfect that she had never truly expected it to happen. Her expectations had been far too high, or so she had thought. That was before Haven had come along, though, and despite the strangeness that coated the beginning of their relationship, he was the perfect guy that she had always wanted. Because of this, she turned her eyes fiercely at Anann’s words. “What don’t you know?” It was something involving love and Princess absolutely had to know what it was. Maybe she could even help.

Even if it was not as daunting as it sounded, building a house was not something that Princess would ever do. If she were to be involved, it would only be to watch and pretend to supervise (as she wouldn’t really know whether or not it was going well). Princess Chance simply did not do manual labor. “I guess if you enjoy doing it, that’s all that counts,” she said with a shrug. It wasn’t her cup of tea. “Where do you want to start?” Anann might have a plan of where to go next, and she might have already been in a few of the houses. There was no sense in repeating the houses explored.

Table by Gen

Anann had hoped that the Lady would let the subject drop. She had done well as of late at keeping thoughts of Anatoliy and her stirring emotions at bay. Unlike when she had first met the male and enjoyed the warmth thoughts of him had brought with them. Now it was more a since of loss and bruised feelings that she felt when her thoughts always seemed to turn towards the afternoon at her cabin.

The intense look in the other woman's eyes told her even before she spoke that she would have no such luck. Having picked another towel her dark eyes stayed on the fabric as she unfolded it. "How do I know if I can trust the feeling?" Sneak asked, trying to keep her tone light and untouched by the uncertainty she felt. Anann had experienced much in life. Learned more than most luperci and yet she knew so little of love. It was terrifying and it had created a weakness in her to which she was finding she had no defense. Having yet to come to terms with her own feelings.

Anann wondered briefly how it was that simple casual conversation had so quickly lead to something so much deeper. Especially with a woman she had initially expected to have nothing in common with. "The linen closet is in and to the right, down the hallway a ways. I think there is another stack or two that seem to be in usable condition." She had simply picked a house and started searching. She hadn't really made any plan of attack for her scavange. "This is the first house I've been, so we can go anywhere from here."
