The morning was warm. It was perfect for making a garden bed. She thought that she coul make a square using old long pieces of wood to make a barrier for the brown soil and also to point out that there was a garden there. She thought to make it outside of the greenhouse, near the back wall of the manor. It would be perfect for them to get the sunlight that they needed and the water from the clouds when it rains.

She had the materials gathered. She placed the pieces of wood together to make the barrier around the brown patch of fertile soil and broken bark. She had everything in place. She went to the greenhouse and brought out some pot plants, which had roses, tulips, and daffodils. She placed them aside and she grabbed her little spade and started digging little holes for the plants.

WC: 343 (3 Points) OOC: Curious pup is curious!!!

it had been a week…A WEEK and there had been no sign of his parents. It was taking them too long, it was almost forever… at least that was what it felt like for the pup. He kept to the mansion or near the borders he’d entered from for the most part of his stay in Crimson dreams. Today he was back at the Mansion… sniffing around for something to do… while he waited… they were sure to come, there was no reason why they wouldn’t find him. Just as he loped over to the back side of the Mansion he saw a white wolf in the midst of all the darker colors. He stared at her, blinking. Unlike most Luperci Denali couldn’t see in colors, he was born color blind. He could still function just like any normal wolf could, he was just unable to see the enormous beauty in colorful things. He watched her for a second, seeing what she was doing, when he couldn’t tell he moved up beside her.

Whatcha doing?

He asked, staring at the plants she held in her paws. Denali found it interesting that he was not able to stand on his hind paws, but his mother had told him patiently that he would soon enough… when would that be? Wasn’t it soon now? The pup was very impatient at times, especially the times he needed to be patient the most. He didn’t even know it was a bad thing, he was still so young, and naïve, he was learning new things every day and it looked like today wasn’t going to be an exception when he saw the glassed windowed greenhouse she had come out of? Who would want to live in a house that had nothing but glass? Were those plants in there too? Who would live with plants, wouldn’t that be like, living outside? Why didn’t she just do that? These questions he kept bottled up inside him. He loved questions, but right now… the only one he asked was all that mattered.

She finished one hole. Putting the little spade aside, she took a pot that had a couple of roses. She grabbed them by the bottom of the stalks, where there were no thorns, and pulled out the plant, roots and dirt still together. She placed the plant in the hole, filling it in with the soil she dug out. There was enough moisture in the soil to help the plant for now, so tomorrow, she need to come back to water it, as the same for the others.

She took her spade again, but didn't dig, as she was distracted by a pup, that was wondering what she was doing. She had not seen a pup for a long time, it seemed. She smiled at the pup. "I'm digging a hole for the plants, so they can grow." She then turned back to the digging as she dug another hole the same diameter as the other hole. She put the spade down, turning to face the little wolf. "What's your name?"

He watched her as she dug the hole for the plant she had in her hand and set it in… then covered it.

Wasn’t it fine where it was?

He automatically thought that it had been someplace cause it was a plant and plants stayed in the dirt to grow. That much he did know, but why would someone want to move it? At her question of who he was he looked at her a startled face. he automatically thought she would know him, but he forgot he wasn’t with his parents, they knew him, this pack didn’t. it made him feel a little sad….

My name is Denali ma’am.

He said quietly, staring at the dark grey shade of the plant, he wondered what interest someone could take in these things? He didn’t get too close, but he wanted to smell it. He sniffed the air a little, he smelled the freshly dug earth, as well as the plant roots which kind of smelled spicy, in a way, it was a nice smell, but he wasn’t going to dig up the work the woman made. He looked back at her, she rather white, white enough to be a cloud in the sky.

Who are you?
he asked a little more blunt than she did, her question was more curious, he did want to know who she was, but he was more interested in why she was putting plants all over.

Flayra was quick to understand that pups would not understand certain things, such as why cover the plant with the dug up soil. "Well, that's what you do. You dig a hole, put the plant in, and put the dug up soil back. Thats just how it's done. Always has been." she replied to his question smiling. She dug up another hole, took another pot plant, and repeated the same thing as the last one.

She heard the name that the pup called himself. Denali. Sounded like a good name. When she had finished putting the second plant in the hole and scrapping the dug up soil in the hole, she turned the little pup and smiled. "Hello, Denali. I'm Flayra." She would offer a handshake, but the pup might not what a handshake was, so she retained herself from extending her hand out to the pup.

WC: --- OOC: hehehe, yay for puppies, gotta love them :3

Nice to meet ya.

He said, giving her a slight smile. Then looked back at the plants.

Why are you doing it? Why do you put them here?

he watched her as she continued to work, it looked easy enough… he probably could do it, but right now? He didn’t know, looking at his paws they were not made for putting things in the soil, although they were made for digging. He decided that he could help her, he found an empty spot near the other plants and started digging a hole forgetting about his question. He liked helping. When he was done he sat up and smiled wider, his hole was slightly deeper and not as carefully dug up as her, and he’d thrown the dirt all over when he dug.

I can help, see?

He said triumphantly. He was one proud pup.

Then came another question she was prepared to answer. The why question. She never had her own pups, but maybe this was a little test for her when she would become a mother. "Well, I'm trying to make garden for the manor. It has a greenhouse, but no garden. Besides, these things could do with some open air." She then got to the last pot plant, repeating the same steps she took with the other two.

When she planted the third pot plant, she turned back to the pup, who look like he wanted to help her. Flayra was about to answer, but the little fellow had already dug a hole. It was deeper that the others she dug, but upon further examination of the hole, she actually liked. "Actually, thats good work. I might be able to plant a lavender here. Thank you." she said smiling back.

He’d heard as the wolf replied to him, about gardens and such… well he knew nothing of what a garden was, but it seemed that putting plants in the ground would make a garden. He was too busy making the hole as she was talking. But when he was done he turned to her, a happy, very distracted pup, he was his old self, wanting to pretty much play in any way possible, and this digging thing… it was definitely fun! His parents forgotten in the back of his head, he wagged his tail when she seemed to be approving his hole he made.

What’s lavender?

He asked tilting his head. He blinked a few times trying to think… well if it needed planting it would be a plant yes… but what kind of plant, so far he’d seen some flowers, why do other wolves take such an interest in them. He could tell they had a sweet smell to them… maybe that was it, because they didn’t really look any different than the grass around him did. He sniffed at the last plant that she put in the ground Yes it definitely smelled pretty good. That had to be the reason. It would make things smell very nice with lots of flowers around.

These smell very nice I like them.

He said, and yipped, his tail was now going furiously fast, he liked this wolf too, she seemed really nice, and she answered his questions, which gave her bonus points. He liked it when his questions were answered, although rather frustrating when he found ten more he couldn’t ask right away. His parents had been patient with him, and his questions, but he didn’t have to ask so many, he’d been with them and they just traveled keeping out of other wolve’s way. He was told though that before he was born they had been on a huge butt… something that sat on top of water… that’s what they told him. And they use to live somewhere much less populated. But they liked it here… now he was in a pack, with twice as many things to look at and all these things left behind by creatures he couldn’t comprehend.

Rather than telling the little pup what lavender was, she thought it would be better to show him what it was. She stood up, brushing the dirt off her fur as she looked at the pup. "Wait here." She went to the greenhouse, which she searched for the flower she was going to put in. Once she had found a pot of lavender, she took it off the shelf, bringing it out to the garden. "This is lavender." she said as she showed the pup the purplish heads of tiny flowers, attached to long greyish-green stalks, with little leaflets grown from the stalks.

She placed the pot down, pulling the lavender out to put in the whole that Denali dug up on his own. She would have to improvise with the loose soil that has currently been flown all over the place by the pup's paws. This wasn't a problem. She always had a solution to these things. When she done the same steps on the lavender as she did with the other flowers, she looked at the pup as he smelt the plant she planted before the lavender. "Flowers are meant to smell nice." she replied, smiling.

Denali waited…. Very impatiently, he wanted to know what lavender was and she ran off. Well it was a good thing that she made it back quick enough his mind was about to wander off, his sense of adventure had a Yeuk to go find something more fun to do. He looked at the plant in her hand as she showed him what lavender was. Then he looked at the other plants. He could see a difference… but he wondered why that specific one?

Why do you want to plant this here? And why is it called lavender? Do you know who named it that!?

he asked, curious about the little plant. It reminded him of his father, he had been short, but he had the same stalk like limbs, well… only four, but he was a rather skinny thing for the wolf he was. His mother had been the one to hunt for them, his father always watched over while his mother was away, he looked down at the thought of his father and decided… he liked lavender, but he didn’t like it right now if he was still sad. His dad would return for him. He told himself, he’ll pick you up and hug you to no end… just like mamma will. He was once again distracted by her answer to his smell comment.

Oh? Why is that? Do they have to smell pretty to stay in the ground?

He asked, well it seemed like a good idea for him, he didn’t know how some stood up so straight, it could be their smell that did it, maybe. Or something else, but he wasn’t gonna dwell on it too much because he had found another empty spot and started to dig again, hoping she’d be happy with another hole, she seemed to have endless plants, and helping made him feel better than thinking about lavenders right now.
