Ever sat by the on the edge of the lake with her knees tucked to her chin. The water rippled with the gentle disturbance of a breeze that caused the female to shiver while it buffeted her damp pelt. Her silver fur was drying slowly for she had not thought about bringing a towel to use after her bath. She had not cleansed herself for awhile and the sky was an endless blue presuming it would be a warm day for a quick dip. Black fingers twisted through the dank blades of grass and ivory claws sank into the sandy bank. Brown ears swiveled around at the sounds behind her back in the woods.

After another unbearable moment of teeth chattering, Ever stood and instinctively snaked her arms around her shoulders. She padded slowly to the fir tree which held her lilac spring dress which had managed to twist itself into the next tree branch on the left. Fumbling with the soft fabric Ever tugged lightly and saw a small rip begin to form on the torso of the dress. She let go immediately in surprise and shook her head angrily, hugging herself tighter. Unfortunately, now she would have to walk back home to get something warmer.

Unmotivated and stiff with the cold, the silver female sat back down on the bank and looked at her furrowed reflection in the unnaturally cerulean colored water. The small current surged on the bank and moistened the sand. Ever smiled and stood to wade into the lake again. She had nowhere to be to at the moment and it was seemed appropriate to take advantage of the cloudless afternoon. Now up to her waist, the female lowered her paws into the water. The pebbles on the bottom shifted under the wolf’s weight and she stepped carefully to retain her balance.

hi

Pendzez came out to Arachnea's Revenge for a bit of peace. With him, as always, was his friend, Masamune, always holstered to his belt for safety reasons. Besides, he only had to go a short distance to get back to Phoenix Vally. He came through the Sugarwoods, in which he passed by an old abandoned house. He had heard that the Sugarwoods had maple trees, lots of them. Humans used to harvest their sap for food, or at least to put on food. He thought that maybe he could harvest some himself and see what it tasted like.

He came to the a small lake, which he picked up the scent of another wolf. Another from the Miracle's pack, like Ayita. He remembered the name when he picked up the familiar scent. He looked to the lake to find a female in the water. Seemed strange because it was warm, but not enough to actually go for a swim, it was still a little cold for that. He came close, but kept his distance. "Bit cold for that, don't you think?"

She scented him before the male appeared. Stomach now engulfed by water, the female turned halfway when the other wolf spoke, remarking about her swim on the chilly afternoon. She opened her maw and laughed; a beautiful sound in the silence. Hackles flattened by the comforting smell of Miracles underneath his Phoenix scent, she smiled. That may be so, but the water feels fine. Her eyes glinted, silently inviting the male without words. She had noted his distance, but respected his decision to remain wary. I am Ever Mayawyn and you are? Ever questioned, paws flexing in the smooth pebbles at the bottom of the lake. She suppressed a shiver as the wind raked across her bare shoulders.

The comment about the lake was not a lie, though the water was warmer at the bank where the decrepit rays of sunlight warmed the shallow blue water. But where the silver girl stood was comfortably deep and temperate as the seaweed wrapped across her ankles.

As she looked on at the unnamed male her memories thought out her Phoenix friend Domonick. Her face warmed at the satisfaction from the memories of the night. She could almost hear the crackle of the fire and the chill on her back as she heard the snap of twigs in the forest. At the moment she had not known is was Saluce. Looking into the water, Ever swiped a black paw across the surface and watched the water ripple as it if had prepared it’s self for the movement.
