Searching for...

The undergrowth crunched beneath Cethin's ebony paws, shattering the general quietude of the forest. He could be completely silent if he truly wished, but now he wasn't exactly focused on stealth as his orange eyes searched the earth with intent. Bethroot...there had to be some Bethroot here somewhere. The moist earth was prime for it, and now that he had a pack once again to care for, it was one of the first herbs that came to mind as a future need. Puppies were part of pack life, and as such, so were the pains that came with birthing them. Bethroot was a pain killer for those things, so he figured, better to harvest some now, let it dry, and have it ready for later. He hadn't carried any on him since Molan had died, there had been no need...

But now that he had new purpose, it gave him something to do. As he rooted along looking for the telltale white and red flowers of the plant, he mused on his "hobby." He'd taken an interest in herbal effects very young, and it had stayed with him to adulthood. Soon after he was able to read, he began to search for more information on the subject, and had also traipsed into the old crumbling hospitals to look over their multitudes of books. However, most of human medicine frightened him...they dabbled with chemicals he couldn't even read, and when he took a few pills from an unreadable bottle to see what they did...well, to say the least, he'd never make THAT mistake again. He did, however, learn a great deal about anatomy, but the idea of surgeries were a frightening prospect to him, and the machinery and tools he found throughout various hospitals looked more akin to weaponry than life-saving devices.

So, after much exploration and learning, he'd stuck to "old wive's recipes" and focused on learning herbalism. He still had a great deal to learn, but he kept a few books on him at all times to further study when time permitted. It was a thrill to find that Dahlia had a great deal of natural medicinal plants strewn throughout it's lands, and stumbling upon the depths of Ethereal Eclipse offered new hunting grounds! Who knew what he'd run across next!

Wonders delicately small milky brown wolf form seemed to drift across the forest floor, not making a single sound. She was currently exploring the woods of Ethereal Eclipse of her new home. Conor Soul had given her a quick tour of the lands but nothing to in depth as there had been so much to see! She already knew she liked these lands, they fit her well. The woods were cool and comforting; the only thing Wonder didn’t like was not being able to see very far ahead without trees getting in her way. She had to keep reminding her self there was no danger here. Well there might be some, but this was pack lands. No wolves, loners or otherwise, were going to come out of the bushes and fight her for trespassing or chase her away from a hard earned meal.
Wonders tail waved as once again she was suddenly struck by the thought of her life now. She wanted to leap for joy and actually did a little jump and yipped then looked around embarrassed. But it didn’t last long and she broke into a run, unable to hold her calm any longer, flying through the forest. She soon stopped, panting. She stood there for a minute catching her breath.
As soon as she was more or less breathing normal she lifted her dark brown head to the breeze and sniffed. She smelled a squirrel and suddenly realized she was starving. She dropped into a crouch and crept forward until she could see the squirrel about fifteen feet away. She crept forward ever so slowly, acting on instinct and using muscles that had done this many a time. At about ten feet from the squirrel a crunching nose from a ways off alerted it and it ran up a tree, not giving wonder a chance to even begin to chase it. Growling, Wonder turned and sniffed, she smelled a wolf. She was up wind and far enough away that it hadn’t smelled or heard her yet. So she turned and headed to the noisy wolf that had chased her meal away.
As she approached, slithering along the ground, as quiet as can be she saw it was a male wolf. He was well muscled and an ebony color. He appeared to be searching for something. Wonder suddenly wondered if she should say something. She didn’t want to startle him. So she said ”Hello, have you lost something?”
