Tenth Time the Charm [p] [halifax]

I had to predate it...hope you don't mind!

Element looked out at the beautiful city of Halifax where he'd made his home not even two months before. The sun was lingering above the city, shining down on the glass and concrete buildings that seemed to make the entire city sparkle with life. Of course, there was few life in the sea of gray and blue - a few black crows were perched on the tops of buildings, and several mice and squirrels scuttled about, but other than that, the scene was quiet. Peaceful. Completely empty, save for Element and the vines that wound around and around the city.

He sighed in contentment. It was a good feeling - after he traveled around, to simply rest for a bit. There wasn't anything he had to do in a hurry - of course not. There wasn't anything he had to do but sleep, hunt, and of course read all those books in the Library. But even that could come in time.

A crow called in the distance: 'kee-kee-kee-kaaaaw! kaaaww!' It repeated the same thing over and over, and somewhere else, a companion of the crow called out as well. It was good, to see life moving on as Element himself did. It wasn't that the memory of Flower faded; oh, no. It was still there. But instead, when he looked upon her image in his mind, he saw an image of peace. No pain seared his heart. Not today.

the date is fine~

So this was the city. Xion had heard of this place from her parents, but never imagined that it would look so different from her home in Phoenix Valley. The buildings, though worn and crumbling, were completely unlike the small cabins such as the one her family lived in. Cautiously, she wandered through the streets, moving slowly as if one wrong step would collapse the entire area into dust. The white-furred girl had taken to her four-legged form, in contrast to the two-legged humans who had once roamed here.

Beneath her paws she noticed that the ground was different here. It was not grassy--though weeds poked up in many spots--nor was it dirt, but it was instead made of some hard, porous substance. An invention of the humans, surely. Nowhere else in the territory had she seen anything like it. But that wasn't all; there were so many strange structures littered about the area, even besides the tall buildings. Xion wondered what the little red cylinders were, and the hanging lights, and the signs with illegible human writing on them.

As she continued to explore and observe, something odd caught her eye. It was a small creature, four-legged like she was but with a long tail and an oddly-shaped head. It was definitely not a wolf, but it was not like any kind of prey animal she had ever seen before either. Curious, she approached it quietly to see what would happen.

I like your table :3

Suddenly, Element sensed something. First came the sound - the cat's cupped, delicate ears picked up the sound of nails against concrete quickly, and he concluded that it was a canine. Only wolves and other canis lupus had the non-retractable nails that Element the feline was very glad he didn't have. His, at the moment, were tucked inside velvet paws, sharp and ready for use. But dog's nails were always out, and were dulled because of it. And it was these dull nails that made the clicking sound against the concrete, and warned Element of a canine coming.

Then came the smell - this canine was female, from the scent of it. The scent didn't carry aggression or fear, however - it was a curious scent. Perhaps she had never seen the city before. Element heard the click of nails grow closer and closer, and the scent of curiosity grew sharper. The canine was approaching the black cat. He decided that if this dog wanted to hurt him, she would smell angrier, and her nails would be making a sharp, staccato noise against the hard ground rather than a small, paced click. He turned his head to see the newcomer.

She was in her Lupus form, a slim little thing. Her fur was pure white, and her eyes were curious - they were also hues of red in one and gold in the other. She had a small earring in one of her ears that glittered in the sunlight. Overall, she was a very pretty wolf. Element dipped his head in greeting. "Good afternoon."
