Time for more Mambi goodness ^^ 500+

Mati had done so many wonderful things for her and Cambria wanted to return the favor. She wasn't anywhere near so talented as her lover, but hopefully she could manage something. It took her some time to figure out what she could do that would be nice and meaningful, but when the idea finally came to her she knew that it was perfect. A few days ago she had told Mati that she was planning something for them and then that morning she had told her to meet her at the Silver Showers at sunset that night. The Marino girl had then gone off to get everything gathered and prepared. She went into the orchard and found some apples that were still in good condition and picked them, placing them in a basket along with a bottle of wine that she had already found earlier. Cambi wasn't entirely sure what the drink was like, but it seemed good for a special occasion. The basket also held a couple of plates and napkins, along with two glasses for the wine.

After that she gathered up some sticks to build a fire and a spit later. At least she hoped that they would work well for that purpose. Cambria had never actually cooked meat before, and had only read about it so she was improvising to some extent. Perhaps she should have tried doing this all one night before the night, but it was too late to worry about that now. When she had enough wood she moved on to gather some herbs that she had also read about in her book on plants and herbs. For her purposes as Practitioner she had mostly ignored plants not used for medicinal purposes, but she remembered scanning over some that were used for cooking and had been able to track some down that were in the territory. When she thought she had enough, she dashed back into the manor to grab the blanket and candles she had hid in the cellar, along with the two rabbits she had caught yesterday and asked to be skinned. Those in her arms, she grabbed the basket with the rest and headed down the river to the showers.

When she reached her destination she laid the blanket out and set the basket and candles on top of it. Taking up the wood and the rabbits she set to building the cooking fire and spitted the two rabbits. The cocoa fey pushed two sticks into the ground on either side of the fire and placed the spit on top of them. Then she started the fire and grabbed the herbs she had picked from the basket. The girl liberally sprinkled the herbs onto the two rabbits. Soon enough a very delicious smell was rising in the air and Cambria couldn't help but smile excitedly. As the meat cooked, she set the candles up all around the little clearing she had picked. Taking a spare stick, she got a flame from the fire on it and lit all the candles. She checked the rabbits, turning them to make sure they were cooking evenly, and then finished setting up the rest of the dinner on the blanket.

As the sun was descending towards the horizon, everything was ready. The candles flickered all around, the basket with the wine bottle and glasses sat in the middle of the blanket and a plate and napkin was placed on either side with an apple. The cooking fire had died down and the rabbits were done, now just keeping warm over the dwindling flames. The sound of the waterfalls gave a beautiful backdrop to everything, and Cambria now stood waiting for Mati to arrive. Her fingers fidgeted and her tail swished back and forth nervously. She hoped Mati liked this, she hoped she'd done well. She hoped that she had cooked the rabbits okay and they tasted good. She hoped Mati would like the wine. She just really wanted this night to be special.

Mati had been a bit surprised when Cambria had told her about meeting her deep within the pack's territory. Of course her curiosity want wild, wondering what it was that she was planning. Part of the bronze woman's mind was concocting outrageous situations, simply because her imagination had such a free range that anything and everything was thought of. But her instructions had been simple, though the artist had felt that the evening would never come. The noon sun had hung tall in the sky for what she felt had been days, and each time her mind wandered to the task at hand she woke from the daze quickly to check the hour. It dragged, and her anticipation heightened. When the sky had turned a dim evening blue Mati set off away from the Manor, leaving Alder who had placed himself under her care for the day.

She walked through the garden her mother kept, picking some of the wild flowers that had flourished despite the weeds. The wolfess thought about bringing the bag that Anann had made her, but instead carried nothing but the mismatched bouquet. Violet eyes looked through the late day's light, moving quickly for she couldn't help it. The Church fey didn't exactly know why her beloved felt the need to surprise her like this, Mati felt the butterflies gathering in her stomach, for everything that Mati did was truly something she wanted for the other woman. And of course she appreciated Cambria in every way, from the very simple to the most complex and thoughtful. Such as this.

The scent lingered through the trees, the sun lowering and Mati did not have to second guess the direction she needed to go in. of course she had followed the scent of Cambria, the path distinct as if she had made the trip more then once. Her fingers held the flower's stems, purple eyes searching around each bend until the finally saw the flickering of light that dotted the landscape. Her heart melted, lips turning upwards in a smile, eyes looking at the fey as she stood in silence. Mati said nothing, walking up to her with eyes dazzling at the thought and care that had gone into the romantic display that had been laid out. But her sight didn't weaver to all that surrounded them, though she could not help but smell the food that she was cooking, violet eyes took in the face of Cambi first. Holding the flowers in front of her Mati leaned down to steal a kiss before speaking her praises.

This is beautiful. Her voice was soft, warm and filled with awe.

Cambi couldn't help but to fidget as she stood waiting for her love to arrive. Her heart fluttered in her ribcage like a caged bird and the walls of her stomach were tickled by the wings of butterflies. She hadn't been this nervous to see Mati in a really long time, it felt a little weird. It was understandable though, she had worked really hard to make this nice, and even though she thought everything looked good, she wouldn't know what Mati thought until she was here and saw it. The girl needed that approval to know that she had done a good job, and that was the whole goal of this plan: to make a wonderful evening for the two of them. Even though they could easily hide themselves away in their room for some privacy, Cambria had thought a change of scenery would be nice for the both of them, and the showers were her second favorite place next to the beach. It seemed more secluded and magical here, so hopefully that was the kind of atmosphere she had created.

Thankfully she didn't have to wait too terribly long before she saw the Church wolfess enter the little clearing, the smile that spread over her face making Cambria's heart skip a beat. Mati seemed to walk up to her in small motion, and just as Mati's eyes didn't leave her face, Cambi's too were locked onto the visage of the taller fey. Their lips touched briefly, and she couldn't help how her body leaned slightly into that touch, the other woman's kisses more intoxicating than any kind of beverage could possibly be. When their soft kiss broke though, and her lover spoke, the girl couldn't help but feel giddy, her face lighting up. "So you like it? Oh good, I so hoped that you would," she said, tail waving. It was then she noticed the little bouquet of flowers in Mati's hand, and she delicately took them. "Oh Mati, they're so pretty!" Mati always managed to do something nice for her, even when she didn't need to.

The Marino reached her hand out and took one of Mati's, their fingers entwining. "Are you hungry?" she asked brightly, her seafoam eyes sparkling with reflected light.

It wasn’t until their kiss broke that she was able to take her eyes off the chocolate furred female. The beauty of the scene showed the Marino woman’s efforts, everything placed so delicately and the smells of the meat that she cooked drawing her eyes towards the fire. But with the sound of her voice Mati’s gaze remained on her face. Her words were bright, with a question that Mati could answer easily. Of course I do. She spoke her eyes coming back to the sea green eyes.

Small hand took the bundle of flowers that Mati carried, and the Dreamer gave them willingly. They were not as beautiful as all the things that she had done for her; the effort didn’t seem to be equal to an on looker but Cambi’s reaction was all that Mati needed to know that she was pleased with the small gesture. I picked them just for you. She spoke lightly, smiling.

Their fingers wrapped themselves around each other’s hands, and she felt the instant comfort that the action always gave her. Yes. She said with a bit of enthusiasm. Mati tended to always have an eager belly, and this evening was no different. She let the darker furred fey lead her through the small clearing, and she allowed her eyes to dance over the blanket that had been laid out for them. She had gathered glasses, a bottle of what Mati guessed was wine and rabbits that she had spitted and roasted. There was even apples that no doubt came from her mother’s orchard.

Normally Mati tended to be the one that led while Cambi followed, their personalities seemed to allow for such a situation. But as with their first time together the bronze female let her guide her to where ever she wished and sat beside her, smile remaining.

Cambria waited expectantly as Mati looked over the little scene that she had set for them. Maybe it was a little silly of her to have done all this, but she didn't care. She couldn't paint beautiful pictures or make pretty jewelry for Mati, but she could do this. It was a less tangible gift than some of the ones that the Church fey had given her, but it was really all she had to make and give. The Marino's one great skill was healing, and she hoped that she would never have cause to treat Mati for anything. Cambria never wanted her to come to harm. A little happy, excited noise came from the girl as it was confirmed that Mati liked what she had done, and she couldn't help but to steal another taste of the other woman's lips.

The size of a gesture didn't matter to her, it was the thought that went in behind it. These flowers were nearly as precious as any gift that she had ever received from the elder Dreamer. Not quite as precious as the bracelet that now constantly adorned her wrist, but she loved the little bouquet nonetheless. She lowered her nose to smell the flowers, the sweet aroma mixing with all the other scents in her head. "Thank you," she said softly, looking back up to her. She hadn't needed to bring her anything, but Cambi would never refuse such a thing from the bronze woman.

The enthusiasm she heard in her lover's reply was enough for her to want to move things forward. She lead Mati over to the blanket she had laid out and motioned for her to sit down. "I'll be right back," she assured. Quickly she went over to the smoldering fire and took the spit that held their roasted dinners. She brought it over to the setting and carefully pushed one onto Mati's plate and one onto her own. The Marino carefully deposited the used stick to the side and then reached for the bottle of wine. Using her claws, she uncorked the bottle and then poured them each a glass. All the preparations made, she looked eagerly back to Mati. "Go ahead and try it!" Cambria wanted to see Mati's reaction to the prepared rabbit. Hopefully her seasonings would taste alright and wouldn't ruin the meat instead.

They all had their talents, and thus gifts that could be given to the pack. Of course some where more valuable then others, but such value was different in each of their eyes. To compare (however natural it was to do so) was to diminish all the things they had done for one another, and to loose the emotions that were brought to her. Mati held the heartwarming feeling in her chest as her eyes scanned over the small scene that Cambi had created, finding something new with each passing glance. Though the coco female’s lips stopped her once more, catching her attention and as always caused the world to pause. Cambi’s soft sweet words of gratitude touched her ears gently, and her smile grew only larger.

Mati followed to the blanket that had been laid along the soft ground, and sat just as she had been asked. But instead of sitting with her as the Church fey had thought the lithe woman moved away and went towards the fire. She felt the urge to follow, to help her carry what ever it was that she might be getting, but she sat in place and watched as her fellow Dreamer brought a plate of delectable smelling rabbit over to her and then popped open the bottle of wine. The seasonings consumed her nose, and her mouth began to water, stomach grumbling softly. Smells delicious. She commented before peeling back a strip of meat and tasting it.

The seasonings weren’t as strong to her tongue as they were to her nose, and she tasted the familiar rabbit behind the accenting herb. It was just as delicious as it smelled and she nodded her head as she chewed, smiling at the same time. Its so good. Mati spoke just as she swallowed. With a small gesture of her hand she beckoned Cambi to join her on the blanket, wanting her to sit with her.

Even though she knew that Mati wouldn't judge her for not being able to create the kinds of things that she did, Cambria wanted to do something for the violet-eyed woman that had stolen her heart. The Marino had always been afraid that she would never be able to find the kind of love that was shared between her parents for herself. She had always had a fairly low self image and she had thought that no one could possibly be interested in her in that way when there were so many other more appealing choices out there. That feeling had gotten even strong when she had come to the realization that she liked other women and not men, her chances shrinking even more. But then there had been Mati, and she had fallen for her right away. And somehow, inexplicably, the Church wolfess had returned those emotions. Most of the time it felt like a dream, but if it were one, Cambi had no desire to ever wake up.

As she moved from the blanket to fetch the roasted rabbit, she could feel her lover's eyes upon her back and it was hard for her to resist the magnetic pull of that connection. She wasn't away from her for long though, and she had a feeling that Mati would find the short separation worthwhile. It was nearly impossible to miss the hungry glint in the other female's eyes as the food was placed before her, and Cambi held her breath expectantly as Mati took a piece of the meat and placed it in her mouth. As she chewed, the smile remained on her face, and when she spoke of the prepared foods quality Cambria couldn't help her tail from wagging to and fro in happiness.

When Mati gestured for her to sit she finally did, the moment of truth for her experiment passed and a success. "I'm so glad it turned out. I've never cooked anything before, so I wasn't sure how it would be." The chocolate hued fey picked off her own piece of meat and chewed it, finding it more delicious than anything she'd tasted before. "Wow, that really does taste good," she said with a huge smile, looking back up to her heart's captor. Her slender hand moved to take her wineglass, holding it between them. "To us?" she shyly suggested as their toast.

They were both experienced with giving and taking, and the pleasurable feelings that both gave. Mati knew how good if felt to bring a smile to the Marino female’s face, the first time it had happened she had been surprised by it. She had known how it felt to receive a thoughtful gesture, the light fluttering feeling and the little electric jolt that buzzed through her chest. Mati felt it now. But the thought that she caused Cambi to feel such a joy was just as electrifying.

The days of unknowing and confusion seemed so far behind her. Mati could hardly remember how if felt to be unsure of the situation, and to think that she didn’t know how she felt or that she didn’t like or love her in the way that she did was like a bad dream. It was a place that Mati didn’t want to return to, and something that she didn’t look back upon fondly. Her hopes were to only move forward with what they possessed now, to grow together and let her hesitations be something left to history.

Mati watched as Cambria moved down to the blanket with her, the scent of her love instinctively over powering the scent of the prepared rabbit and the robust wine. So easily could she tune out all the rest; focusing on the only real thing that she would ever desire so completely. Though, she couldn’t deny that the meal was delicious, the smile on Cambi’s face made her focus on the food. See I told you. She spoke in a teasing tone, her smile and voice make her jest evident. Cambi picked up her glass, and Mati followed. She gave a nod, and spoke the toast. To us. she took a sip of the wine, it was a deep combination sweetness and bitterness and clung to the taste of the rabbit and spoke to her nose as well, complimenting and not competing.

It was kind of incredible, how far they had come together, given how rocky and uncertain the start of things had been. It would be nearly impossible for forget how foolish she had felt after she had first expressed her feelings to the Church woman, but those hurt feelings didn't matter a jot anymore. Cambi could never blame Mati for her uncertainty. It was common knowledge that the Marino was hardly the confident type and she couldn't say what had given her the courage to open herself up that day. It had been very unlike her shy and cautious nature. Maybe that was just what happened when someone found their soulmate. All the petty fears were overwhelmed by the sheer power of the emotions for that other person. That certainly seemed a valid explanation to her, for ever since they had mended things and kissed that day everything had been wonderful. They had still had their small hiccups, but that was only natural. One thing Cambria knew though, was that she could never love anyone as much as she loved Mati.

She loved the way the other woman watched her. If it were anyone else, that unwavering gaze would likely unnerve her and make her self conscious, but not with Mati. Coming from the bronze fey such attention was welcomed and cherished. She never wanted anyone else to look at her like that, or for those violet eyes to shower such attention on anyone else. Cambi wasn't an overly jealous creature, but she knew that she would not be able to stand it if Mati ever looked at another that way. She wasn't worried about that though, she knew the other woman did not have a wandering heart. They were both true and steadfast.

"Well you were right," she responded, a little sheepishly. The Marino hadn't been one hundred percent confident in her little experiment, but not it was clear that her gamble had been a successful one. After they toasted Cambi let the wine slide down her throat and was surprised as its flavor. She had never tasted any wine before, or anything aside from water for that matter. It was different, and not at all unpleasant, and it warmed her as she drank it. Sighing happily, she snuggled her body against her lover, tail wrapping around into her lap. She picked up another piece of the cooked rabbit, holding it up in front of the other Dreamer's lips.

Life did not always allow for such pleasures. At times it was cruel and placed hardships in their path, their focus was torn between obligation and what it was that their heart yearned for. But it was worth the small turmoil, for once they rounded the dark that came into their life the light that was given by the love they shared was always brighter then before. The two Dreamers were lucky, for its seemed as if all their pain and troubles were nothing more then history. And their bond allowed them to look at those times and only see how close it brought them now. Her confusion, Cambi’s accident in the falling of the barn, they could be looked at as stepping-stones to the pinnacle that they had reached.

Mati leaned in, feeling the soft weight of the other woman against her. Their eyes met and Mati felt the familiar jump of her heart in her chest. It was what shown through those sea green orbs that touch her, and no matter how many time she felt the gaze the same feeling overcame her. A single hand felt its way across her silk furred back to her hip, holding the small female in place and smiling as she gently took the morsel of rabbit from her fingers. A small chew and swallow and her smile returned. This is wonderful. She spoke, her tone soft and hardly above a whisper. Mati held the glass of wine to her lips, savoring the taste of it once more before looking back at the coco hued female. Thank you for doing all this. She spoke with true gratitude, still feeling slightly overwhelmed by the detailed gesture. Bronze mane fell over her shoulders as she leaned in towards Cambi, hoping to steal a kiss and taste the stong wine of her lover's lips.

There had been many bad instances in her life, starting early. Cambria doubted that she would ever be able to fully leave her exposure to the powdered drug behind her. It would have been a traumatic thing for an adult to go through, much less a pup of her young age. It was something that had shaped her from that moment on whether she had asked it to or not. The soft spoken Marino had always been the fragilest of her siblings, but after that incident her fragility had become even more pronounced. It didn't take much pressure for fractures to appear in the girl. Nothing had ever seemed to fix that. Until Mati. Somehow, when she was with her lover, she felt strong. It wasn't a physical strength, but she ceased to feel so breakable.

Cambi would never tire of looking into Mati's eyes. They were such a beautiful shade, and there were so many subtleties in that gaze that she would probably never known them all. Even if she couldn't find each and every one, she was confident that no one would be able to read the Church fey like she could. Words weren't necessary; they could read each other through their eyes. Mati's hand roved across her back and came to rest at her hip, holding her more slender form against her stronger one. It was impossible not to feel a thrill whenever the other woman's hands ran over her body. Her own fingers briefly touched Mati's lips as she took the rabbit from her grasp.

Once again her lover complimented her efforts of this night and she felt she shone inside like a star, taking another sip of the sweet wine herself. "I wanted to do something special for you, for us." An external display of how important their relationship was to her. She felt Mati's head lean down and she eagerly met the other fey's searching lips and they somehow tasted sweeter than usual, traces of the fermented liquid enhancing the flavor. When their kiss broke, she nuzzled against her lovingly. "I could stay here with you forever," she whispered happily.

There would always be things that they would want to forget, and in some cases they would be successful. She had forgotten her first heartbreak, the fights she had had with her brother’s mate and even the abandonment of her birth mother was being erased by time. But there would be things that bother would be forced to remember, things that altered them and those scars would never truly heal to be the way they had been at birth. That unmarred state would never be reach again, but in its place they each held perfection in the other’s eyes. It was what they needed, the balance of strength and fragility between them counteracted the other’s weaknesses.

Mati had never thought that she needed such an extravagant display, and knew that Cambi loved her even without candles and wine. But she felt the affects of the effort shown, her heart skipping beats as she looked around to see the details that her lover had laid out with her in mind and no one else. She understood it more fully now, how even the small little things were able to show how deeply their love settled within her. Me too. her voice was soft and hushed as the Marino fey’s had been. She felt the other female move against her, eyes closing briefly as she felt the small jolts of electricity that ran through her whenever they touched.

A heavy sigh, and a long moment of contented silence filled the space around them before she spoke again, taking a small sip of wine before she did. Where did you get the idea for this? She asked with a smile. She wouldn’t have been able to think of such an idea, perhaps not as romantic minded as her partner. The food, the wine, the candles, it all fit and Mati was still a bit shocked and in awe at the presentation.

Perfection was a feeling she had never expected to feel. Before Mati, the only ones that had come close to making her feel that way were her parents, especially her father. The girl loved her dad with all her heart, and when she was around him she felt better about herself. That was how fathers were supposed to make their little girls feel though, at least in her mind. That didn't cheapen the way that Kansas made her feel at all, but it wasn't the same as feeling it because of someone she wasn't related to. Mati, inexplicably, made her feel perfect. The way the other woman looked at her, touched her, it was unbelievable. Sometimes Cambi wondered how the Church fey could see her as such, but she didn't have any desire to truly question it. The last thing she would ever want was for that admiration and love to go away.

This hadn't been about her needing to do it, or worrying that Mati didn't know how much she loved her. Cambria worked hard every day to make sure that the other fey knew exactly how it was she felt about it. This was something she had wanted to do for her. Just something extra special to display how important the other was to her. How important they were to her. It was hard to imagine now her life before Mati had come into it in a romantic way, probably because she never wanted to think about her life without the bronzed woman. Mati had become her world, and she never wanted that to change.

There was a long silence that was far from awkward, each simply content to be so close to the other. Cream tipped ears perked up though at her lover's voice. "Well, when I was studying my herbs I remembered there were some they said were good for cooking. I guess that's how it started out, the rest just kind of came to me along the way." She couldn't really explain it, except that it had just seemed the right thing to do. A similar, unexplainable feeling came to her a moment later and she found her lips moving before her brain had even had time to process the thought. "Do you want to be with me forever?" Once the words were out she felt her cheeks flush with color. What was that all about? Still, she found herself hungry for the answer to that unexpected question.

It was wonderful, and it was amazing. It was the feeling of acceptance, the knowing that she was wanted in a way that was beyond just a normal average relationship. It was the way Cambi’s eyes gazed upon her face, the sea foam hue looking to her and holding more emotion then Mati thought possible. She found it almost impossible to have someone look at her like that, in a way that made her heart skip and in a way that told her that this was love. Sometimes she couldn’t meet the gaze, a smile coming to her face and her purple eyes closing and her face growing warm and overwhelmed. But she always felt the same, and knew that when she looked to the chocolate hued female her eyes spoke the same things.

She listened and found that even though she was the artist of the two the Marino female was just as creative as she was. The herbs and spices worked well with the meat, but Mati wouldn’t have thought to bring so much together and the presentation was perfect. Its wonderful. She spoke, a hand holding her a bit tighter as the words were spoken. There was a small pause, and then the fey’s voice came to her ears once more with a question on her lips.

It was a question that was unexpected, and though Mati hadn’t been thinking about the possibility of their future at the very moment she had thought of it often. She pondered over the possibility daily it seemed, and what she desired for her forever. There was no one that she would rather be, and she was not shy or hesitant in the expressing of it. This lifetime, and the next. She spoke softly. She didn’t know what lay beyond this world and yet Mati couldn’t imagine ever being without her. If there were a heaven then Cambria would be there with her. The reason for the question was unknown of course, and questioning why she asked it was pressing Mati. But still, I can’t imagine a life without you. It was not a question, but reassurance if her lover was unsure.

Even though she had put so much work into this night, wanting to take Mati's breath away, the girl was surprised that she actually had achieved that end. Cambria didn't think of herself as creative or artistic, certainly not in the way her lover was. The way that the Church wolfess could bring colors and lines and shapes together on canvas and page was something she could never fathom having the skill to do. It was something that was inherent, and clearly the taller Dreamer had been gifted with such talents. There was never a drawing or painting that she created that the Marino found mundane or just like any other. They all had their unique, beautiful signature, and yet they all clearly came from the same skilled hands. How she did it, the healer didn't know, but she was always amazed. The fact that she had amazed Mati with this...well it was a wonderful feeling. "You're wonderful," she replied softly as she felt Mati hold her a little tighter.

Cambi supposed that she, too, had been thinking of her future and their future. However, she hadn't been contemplating bringing it up to Mati any time soon, much less this very night. She hadn't really been worried at all that this was something temporary that the other woman would get bored of eventually. Still it was a part of her nature to desire permanence, a fixed state. The Marino wasn't ashamed to admit that change often scared her, and she could contemplate no more devastating change than the dissolution of her relationship with the pack's Nanny. The answers she received put all fears to rest though, and she snuggled closer, feeling so wonderfully warm.

"I can't imagine a life without you either. I don't want to imagine one." Mati had become her world, a world she never wanted to change. That should have been enough for her, and in many ways it was, and yet still there was a nagging in the back of her mind that brought forth her voice yet again. "Would you want to...make it official? I mean, I don't care, not as long as I have you, but...it could be nice..." to be mates. Cambi didn't want to push anything, didn't want Mati to feel uncomfortable or pressured. Truly she would be happy as long as they could be together, title or no, but she would be proud to be the woman's mate too.

please forgive the delay ><

It was difficult to not think of the future and what it might bring them both. Mati would lay awake at night, her lover sleeping gently beside her and she would wonder, and dream of how they would grow old together. Each time she thought of it she heard the high voices of pups in the background. They laughed and giggled and yipped and called for their mothers. The Nanny was often surrounded by the young of the pack, and her heart always wished that she would have her own. But those were dreams that were never truly clear, and as Cambria spoke it was of a step that they had yet to reach before the words of offspring could be discussed.

Her tone was slight different as she spoke once more, and Mati’s purple gaze looked down at her dark brown face. The Church female was not shocked by the suggestion, her mind had run along so quickly that she had almost forgotten that they were not officially mates. The commitment that they had made to one another had been done so long ago, and though Mati had needed time to wrap her mind around all the emotions she had felt that they would be together forever starting then. The title was something to be proud of, but she didn’t feel that without it their love would be anything less.

To be mates. Mati spoke, ending the female’s thought. There was a smile on her maw. The words made it real, and she felt her heart flutter at the idea. Even though it wasn’t necessary she liked the feeling that it brought her. Of course, I want to be yours forever.

Psh, there is nothing to forgive! Sorry if this is weird, I'm tired, but I just had to reply! 8D I feel like I keep repeating myself ><; 300+

Cambria had never been the type to think too terribly far into her future, at least not to any great detail. When it came to the long road ahead her thoughts mostly functioned in absolutes. She knew she would likely never leave Crimson Dreams; this had and always would be her home. When she had decided to pursue the path of healing she knew that she would practice that art until she no longer could, for whatever reason. Beyond that her future was just a haze. The Marino tried not to focus on details that may or may not come true. Disappointment was not something she coped with incredibly well, so the fewer things she got her hopes up about the better. Mati had become one of those absolutes that was impossible to erase from her future though. Their love had changed her life, for the better. It had made her who she was. Cambria never wanted to let Mati go, never wanted to be without her.

It really didn't matter to her whether or not they had the title. What was important was that they loved each other and were together. That was the thing that filled her up each day and made the mornings seem brighter. It would be nice to have the title, but it was something that she could easily do without. They had for this long, after all. She realized now they had never even really discussed their future much. It seemed that they had just both assumed that this was the way things were meant to be between them for the rest of time. That thought alone was enough to make the chocolate fey happy as a daisy.

When Mati spoke the words that she had thought at the same time a chill rushed through her and she could feel a tingling in her skin. Oceanic orbs looked up to her lover expectantly, taking in the smile that ran across her beautiful face. Anticipation was clear on her own visage, and when the Church woman confirmed that she, too, would like them to be mates her expression blossomed into pure joy. "Oh Mati!" she exclaimed, rising quickly to her knees. Her slender arms wrapped about her lover, no, her mate's neck and she kissed her passionately. After the kiss she hugged herself close. "I'm yours, forever and always." She would never be anyone elses. Mati was the only one for her.

end here?? should we have the next thread Big Grin!?

Commitment was never hard for the Church woman. She was loyal to her pack, dedicated to those within it and she had never wavered from that. Her attachment to Cambria was strong from the very beginning, the love the shared had not always been clear as crystal but it had existed before Mati could even understand it. She hadn’t wished to be with anyone besides the pack’s healer, and yet it wasn’t until now that Mati had truly realized that being mates was the next step. Her eyes clouded for an unknown reason. It was a title that she would be proud to have, and she could help but smile at the thought.

Her heart’s beat was rushed and fluttering in her chest, eyes feeling as if they were watering with joyous tears. She was not emotional like this, brought to crying so easily. But Mati only hoped she wasn’t, though the small tears at the corner of her eyes reminded her that she was just as easy brought to crying as the next. She felt Cambria against her, bronze arms holding her tightly and she found that the words that came to her were lost for a moment as they passed from mind to lips. Stomach leaped with a new excitement. She had known that Cambi was hers, just as she said it, but now it felt like she received the gift of her commitment all over again.

I love you. She said, the words running off her lips just before she moved to kiss her newly crowned mate once again.
