Sorry for the wait! I got a bit too distracted while I was typing all this and I wanted it to be long so yeah. I hope it's alright and I apologize for making you wait so long. WC: 745 {7 points}

Layla had to admit that she was beginning to get used to having a huge stomach. Sure it was only a little time after she first found out she was pregnant, but the sickness was not bothering her as much. Although she was becoming a bit fatter by the day, she was beginning not to mind anymore. As long as the mistress was able to leave the house, she was happy.

Layla stumbled out of bed a bit this morning. She was trying to get out of bed earlier in the mornings so that she didn’t feel like she was wasting half of the day away. Although the morning sickness was still with her, the mistress was able to stand up a bit straighter without the sickness overcoming her. She stumbled over to her closet and peeked inside. She didn’t have very many outfits and most of them had a bit of a gothic look to them. The black and white she wolf sighed a bit as she grabbed her red outfit and the skirt that went with it. It was not exactly a long sleeve top, but it was perfect for the current autumn weather. Once the she wolf had slipped into her clothes, she managed to make her way downstairs to tend to the wounded and make sure she was doing alright. So far all things were good and her stomach was healing nicely. After checking up on the loner, the mistress went to the door and headed outside.

The weather was better than she realized. It was early in the morning and already the air had a mixture of warmth with the cool breeze blowing. As Layla was taking in the moment, she looked to her right side and grabbed her walking stick that was leaning on the side of her home. She had found this along the way to the AniWaya territory and decided to keep it in case she was having some trouble moving around. The stick was strong and thankfully able to handle the she wolf’s increasing weight. Once she was comfortable and ready to go, she moved the stick in front of her and was on her way. The she wolf had an agog look in her face. Something told her today was going to be a great day.

Seeing as it was still so early in the morning, Layla figured that most of her pack mates would still be asleep. She was going to take this time to maybe try and catch a morning breakfast while getting a nice drink of water. There really was only one place that she knew to go for such a thing. Once the mistress reached to the place she was referring to, she moved to the bank side and looked into the water. Already there were some fish swimming around and it looked like breakfast was served. Before eating, the black and white she wolf lowered her head to the water and began to take a drink. The water was nice and cool. Next was actually getting a meal for herself. This was going to be a little bit tricky. She kept her head at the water and carefully watched the fish swimming around. Once one was close enough, she sprung her head down and grabbed the fish in her jaws. Once the she wolf’s head was away from the water, she moved over to the side of the bank to eat her meal.

It was now a bit later in the day when she finished her meal. Surely by now the other pack members were beginning to wake up and she could continue on without disturbing anyone. Layla tossed the fish bone aside and reached for her walking stick. The mistress got back up on her feet and began to head back in the direction of her home. There were a few places here in the pack lands that she hadn’t been to yet and since today was such a good day, she figured she’d go and explore some of those areas.

Upon heading west from Wolfville, she came the vineyards. Here was one of the places she hadn’t been to yet. The smell of the orchids filled her nose as she continued through the overgrowth. Layla had to admit that even with the old buildings, it looked like a wonderful place. She stopped and leaned against one of the houses to take a short break before she continued on.

Since this takes place the day before Iris dies, she is present in this thread~ 406 words.

The creamy woman was sitting cross-legged on the ground, the four squirming, small bodies in her lap. They were only three days old now, still blind and deaf and essentially a mystery to the woman. Lolita did not know what she was meant to do with them now that they were born. Hell, she hadn't even known what to do with them when she was carrying them in her womb. Motherhood was a strange, strange thing. She had felt remorse at the loss of her only son, born without a breath of life within him, but these beings in her lap were so strange to her. All that she knew was that she was meant to feed them and care for them so that they could thrive. But what could she do with them? At the moment, it seemed like nothing.

The most active one was the one who looked most like their undeniable father, Magnolia. She was the loudest and she wiggled the most. Iris, however, did not move much at all and she squeaked only minimally. Poppy and Foxglove seemed to be somewhere in the middle of that spectrum, which Lolita hoped meant that they were normal. It didn't seem too terrible that the little gray girl was more active than the others, but the new mother did worry a bit about the fact that Iris was seemingly so lifeless. That could not be the way it was supposed to be, was it? She ran her lithe fingers down the smallest girl's spine, tenderly carressing the little bundle.

They were not far from the house, though admittedly, they were very close to the fence that separated the large Victorian house and its small orchard from the others. Maybe she should have stayed closer to the house with the puppies so young, but she could not help it. Lolita had never felt entirely comfortable within the confines of human dwellings. The silence of the morning was so that Lolita could hear the approach of another, though she could not see where it had come from and she could not see the stranger. The scent wasn't foreign, and there was no obvious hostile actions (in fact, no actions at all), so she called out, "Hello? Is someone out there?" Lolita was on guard as best as she could be, though it felt strange to be wary of another being near her. Normally she would be indifferent.

So sorry again for the long wait. I'll be trying to keep up with my Layla posts more often now. Long posts are hard for me to type up though. WC: 1,008 {10 points}

Layla was enjoying the days away from her home. This was she would be able to continued to get the exercise she craved and Saluce would no longer have to be bothered by her morning mood swings. She remembered the last time that she and her beloved mate got into a fight over her sickness. She never wanted that to happen again and to make sure that happened, she made sure she was out of the house. Even though her chest was causing her a lot of trouble and pain, she didn’t mind. The behemoth deserved to have some time to himself and she didn’t want to disturb him while he was working on her sword. She still couldn’t believe he was making her a weapon. Who would have ever thought that a healer would also be one to carry a weapon. She gave a small sigh before she rose to her feet and continued to make her way into the vineyards. The autumn breeze flowed through her hair as the land around her danced. It was such a lively day and the black and white she wolf wondered if there would be someone around she could share this wonderful day with.

Layla paused when she thought she heard something. It sounded like new pups… but that couldn’t be right. The mistress had met most of the wolves here in the pack and didn’t know there were others besides herself who were pregnant. This was a great moment to meet another member of the pack and get some advice on what to do when she had her own pups. To be honest, the black and white she wolf had no idea what to do. She was not sure if her motherly instincts would kick in once the pups were here or not. The new soon to be mother drifted her mind away as she walked along. Her mind was confused on what to do with the pups. She did know some of the basics of caring for pups. The mother is the pup’s teacher and first source of play. The she wolf couldn’t wait to play with her newborns at home and teach them all about what she knew. She would be taking part of her father’s shoes seeing as he was the one who taught her most of everything she knew. Speaking of her father, she wondered how he and her mother were doing. She hadn’t heard from them since they left her and she wondered about them every single day. She was sure they were both doing well, but that still didn’t stop her from worrying about them. The she wolf stopped walking and looked to the sky. She remembered when she was a young pup, staring at the clouds with her parents and trying to point out their shapes to them. It was one of the happiest moments in her life, and with pups of her own on the way, she was sure her happiness was only going to increase.

Layla’s ears finally moved as she caught the voice of a female. The voice was close and maybe this too was the source of the noise she was hearing before. She followed the voice and came to the cream wolf’s presence. She stood at a distance so that she could get a bit comfortable with her being around. The mistress sniffed the air trying to get the scent off the female. She was indeed another member of Dahlia de Mai. A small smile crossed the black and white she wolf’s face as she spoke. ”I’m here. Sorry if I’m disturbing you. I’m Layla Nishant. What’s your name?” After looking over the female, she finally saw the little ones in her lap. So this was the mother she was looking around for. All of the pups were beautiful. The she wolf ventured closer to the mother and her newborns. She didn’t want to make the mother feel uncomfortable, so if she asked her to back away or growled to her, she would back away and keep her distance. The soon to be mother watched the pups continuing to move around in her lap and smiled more. She had to admit her favorite out of the bunch was the one that looked more like a husky than anything else. The brown and the white matched up well and made for an interesting combination. She could see a bit of the resemblance in her mother and wondered if the father of these pups was also a member of Dahlia de Mai. Seeing as the mother was alone, she guessed that the father was actually not a member of the pack. That must have been a bit harsh for the female sitting before her. The she wolf wondered if the male she had these pups with was her mate, but she was seeing him secretly. The mistress normally was not one to keep secrets, but she didn’t want to ruin a mother’s chance at happiness.

Layla took a seat, wishing to finally get off her feet and take another break. She couldn’t go far with the pain in her chest, but she did the best she could. Her smile remained on her face as she continued to watch the pups moving around. Perhaps if the pups approved of her being there, then the mother would as well. The mistress ventured to start up a conversation with the cream wolf. ”Your pups are so beautiful miss. They all seem so active too.” The black and white she wolf ran her fingers over her chest and tried to imagine herself in the mother’s position. She could see her little ones laying with her as she cleaned them. It was a beautiful thought but one that would soon enough be short lived. The female didn’t know the future fate of her family, but tried not to think of the worst since she knew it would kill her happiness. The she wolf crossed her legs as she waited for the mother to answer.

Sorry for the delay, I opened this at least six times to reply to it and just... Failed to do so. x.x And don't worry about typing up long posts if they're hard to do...? Length doesn't matter to me. ^^; 356 words.

Motherhood was not something that Lolita had ever expected to experience and, as a result, she was at a loss for what to do next. It seemed absurd that she might really only be able to feed them and keep them warm, but at this stage of their life, she did not know what else she could do with them. Maybe that was all that they needed, after all, and she just did not know because her maternal instinct had been chased out of her long ago. Dead girls were not supposed to be able to fall pregnant, but somehow she had managed it. She supposed that she could still be entertained by them even if she could not yet do much with them. They would grow soon enough, she was sure, and would do things.

Jade eyes watched vigilantly as the woman came closer, sitting on the ground with some distance between them. "Lolita Monroe," she said warily after the other introduced herself, as the creamy woman was still feeling protective of the squirming bundles in her lap. Layla did not seem as if she meant any harm and the Monroe woman needn't worry about a stranger being too close to her home, as the woman smelled heavily of Dahlia. The vineyards, she had realized belatedly, were fairly close to the borders, so she had become increasingly concerned that a trespasser might venture too close to her home and her children.

"Thank you," she said, faulting a bit on the words. She had not been sure of how the pack would receive her children, as she was not a mated wolf, the father was entirely unknown, and she had a strange female living with her. "The red and white one is Poppy, the grey one is Magnolia, and the blonde ones are Foxglove and Iris. Iris is the one that doesn't move as much, the smaller one," she added, blinking down at her pups oddly. They were so foreign to her. "Why are you in the vineyards?" she asked. It was not every day that someone came wandering so close to the large Victorian house.

Layla made sure to keep her distance from the mother. She didn’t want to make any bad false impressions about herself and wanting to make sure she was welcomed to come forward before she actually moved. The female introduced herself as Lolita Monroe. She had a lovely name for such a lovely female. The mistress shook her head of the thought. She didn’t want to be jealous of her. The black and white she wolf was perfectly happy for the new mother and was happy to know that there would be some more life around the pack. She rubbed over her growing chest as she set her walking stick down at her side.

Layla continued to watch the pups move around and followed Lolita’s gaze as she introduced all of her pups. All of the pups were so gorgeous, especially the one named Poppy. The mistress couldn’t help but noticed that she looked like the pup except for the coloration difference. She smiled as she fixed up here hair. There was not much else she could think of to discuss. The she wolf figured that her instincts would just kick in from the moment they were born. Her blue orbs returned to her company and the pups. She wondered if any were curious about her.

Layla then addressed Lolita question as to what she was doing out here. ”Oh Iwas just trying to get in some excersise but it’s proving a bit difficult. I get tired easily.” She huffed a bit and then figured this would be a great time to get more information on being a mother and maybe get some tips from this mother. ”So Lolita, what’s it like being a mother?” The mistress focused her gaze back on the pups to watch them to see how the female would handle them. Some of the best things could be learned from just watching.
