OOC:Last post for Kemo for this thread
Kemo smiled as he heard her turn around, thinking what he had said had finally gotten to her and she was turning around to apologize. The quick shuffling of her paws irked his curiosity a bit, but it wasn't until she ran right up to him and slapped him as hard as he could that he realized he was wrong in his assumption. All he could do was stand there in blind shock, even when she yelled at him and as he heard her pawsteps slowly fading away, he knew it was quite possible that he would never see her again.
When he finally recovered from the shock, he couldn't hear anything but the leaves swaying in the trees, the equivalent of a ringing silence to him, reminding him that he was alone again. What had he really done to make her react in such a way? He hadn't meant insult or offense to her or her pack, he was only explaining to her why he was acting in the way he did, and honestly, who wouldn't react in such a way? She didn't understand, being a member of the pack and used to the skulls lining her borders, as well as not being a wolf herself, so how would she?
He didn't know if any of these questions would be answered, and he didn't really know if he wanted them to be answered or not. To be honest, all he wanted to do was leave this place, leave the Jackal to whatever she thought about him and forget all about what happened today. So he did just that, turning to leave this place with a swish of his tail. He was lucky that his scent trail was still very obvious, even to his overly sensitive nose, so with one last look in the direction she had left, he headed off to AniWaya, determined to return to the one wolfess who could always cheer him up. Would this come back to haunt him one day? He supposed the answer to that question would only be revealed in time and he put it out of his mind. He didn't know it yet, but this last event with the jackal would be the start of a long and slippery road into darkness.
