Holy crap it was weird writing for him.

The sun was still rising as Freak made his way quietly from the den, careful not to wake his slumbering mate. He paused just outside the opening and gazed at her sleeping form. He was overcome with emotion as he watched her, from the look of complete peace on her face to the slight bump on her stomach. The two of them had come so far, with a great deal of mistakes along the way. Most of them were made by him, he acknowledged as he moved on and into the early sunshine. But this time they were doing things right. No mistakes. He'd make sure of that, Freak Oriel did not require more than one lesson.

His massive form created an impressive shadow along the ground and he paused once more to survey the land around him. It didn't look as if anyone else was awake, which was a good thing – he wanted to complete this task without an audience. He left giant paw prints in the dew, four becoming two as he shifted along the way. Then there was a few minutes of silent travel and he was right where he needed to be.
The alpha male had been planning this gesture for a while, carefully considering every detail. Freak Oriel was a stoic wolf, never one to let his emotions get away from him. As an alpha he was kind but firm, leading with a quiet compassion he'd never been shown as a child. He always kept a cool head in any situation. If anyone in his family had emotional problems they would approach Ravyn instead of him. It wasn't that she didn't lead as effectively as he did, the alpha female just had much more experience when it came to such situations. For the most part, Freak was at a loss. He was only overtly emotional when it came to Ravyn – and in her case he didn't care who saw it. And that's what this was about.

Leaning on all fours, Freak sniffed out the spot he'd deemed acceptable the other day and began digging. It didn't take long before his massive paws scooped out an appropriately sized hole for what he had in mind. When satisfied, the male moved toward the bushes and lugged out a tree he'd dug up the other day during a trip up the mountain sides. It was small and twisted, a feature Freak had been on the look out for. When he'd seen the tree nestled up against the mountain side, he'd known what to do right away. Now he moved it from its hiding place and carefully placed it in the hole he dug, taking extra care to make sure all the roots were safely buried. Once it was planted properly the werewolf watered the freshly turned soil and stood a few steps back to admire his work. Now all he needed was to wake his mate.

He arrived back at the den a few minutes later, leaning in to nudge her gently. Ravyn? It's time to wake up. He called softly, nipping at her ear. I want to show you something.
