The cliff looked like the perfect place. Jasper approached it in a weary fashion, dragging his legs as he made his way toward the ledge. Once there, he leaned forward some, peering down with oddly colored eyes, checking to see just how far it went. A good tumble, no one was likely to survive it. After a moment of just staring, the blonde male seated himself with a soft groan, letting his legs hang over the edge. The sun was just beginning to go down, casting multi-colored streaks of light through the broad sky, and Jasper had come to be witness to it all. That, and it was more unlikely that someone he knew would find him in the place.

The area around his eyes and cheeks was swollen, the fur moist and matted down. His hair, usually well kept, had fallen victim to neglect. It was tangled and dirty, shooting out in awkward directions randomly, and the boy didn't seem to care. To much had happened over the past week for him to really bother caring about how he looked. It was quite obvious that he'd been crying. A lot. Even now, as he simply sat and watched, there was a faint shimmer of tears in his eyes and a very obvious catch in his chest as he breathed. He just wanted it all to go away, it had even crossed his mind that it would have all gone away had he just leaned forward a little more. Jasper was to much of a coward for that, though.

<3 jasper.

Acheron Peak was becoming one of his favorite places. He wasn't sure if it was the warmth that eminated from it, or the sporadic hot springs all up and down its sides. The sulfur took some getting used to, but after a few minutes he didn't even notice it. He made his way leisurably up the sloped earth, taking time to observe the territory around him. The sun was casting long shadows on the ground, and the sky was painted several impossible hues and shades. Looking over his shoulder, toward home, the sky was already dark and stars were beginning to shine. He wasn't tired yet, though. Perhaps after wandering the mountain he would do something else adventurous.
To the west, the direction he was headed, the sun still made the sky red and pink, as if it were on fire. The actual star was just behind the peak of the mountain, so he was able to walk without having to squint against the glare. As his eyes swept the uneven terrain, they caught sight of something—someone—sitting on the ledge of a questionable looking cliff. Veering off his course, he scrutinized the form until he recognized it as Jasper, the doleful boy he had met in October. A smile blooming on his face, he called out to him when he was a few yards away. "Jasper!"

Would things change if he just simply up and left one day? If he wandered off to some place far away where none of them would ever find him? Certainly his own life wouldn't change, they would actually grow with the loss of what he had right now, but what about everyone else? Maybe things would look up for the small amount of family that he actually had. Perhaps his father and his half sister would be able to live a peaceful life together, not having to worry about the unwanted son lurking about, longing to be with them. Jasper frowned at the thought, lifting a hand to brush away the stray strands of dirty hair that had been blown into his eyes by the wind.

It was just about the moment that he started kicking his legs idly that the voice broke the silence in the air. Jasper turned, hands against the ground to keep him steady, and oddly colored eyes gazed around for the source. Endymion. Suddenly wide-eyed at the arrival of someone that knew him, the blonde male lifted a hand to wipe away the tears that threatened his eyes, using that same hand to lift into the air and wave slowly. "Hey Endy.." It came out softer than he'd meant for it to but decided quickly that the other male would at least hear it. Placing his hand back upon the ground, he scooted himself away from the ledge just a bit, pulling his legs back up over the edge, but remained seated where he was.
