As the day had given way to the chill of the magical silver tinted dusk, Arra awoke from a light slumber beneath the now dead shell of a once mighty oak tree.
She cast a quick, furtive glance around the entrance, nose and hearing straining for any sounds of animal life, foe or prey as she slowly edged her way more toward the rough entrance of her hidey hole.
Blue eyes caught the half moon's light, her already bright blue eyes seemed to glow with the unnatural grace all wild creatures had. Their wild souls alive and dancing as if fire in their eyes. Again she edged forward, form was fully wolf. She preferred to keep this stance as she could tuck herself away in the smallest of places and just watch. her dark brown fur with hints of autumnal colours glittered with the already forming dew of the night.
And owl screeched over head causing her cast a sharp glance up at the swift shadow danced high between the branches of the twisted tree. A light smile touched her lips, she was not the only one to call this dead wood shell home.
She moved into the dim light, the crisp smell of autumn cold causing her to cast foggy breaths as she scented the night air with relish. Tonight she would hunt fish. She fancied the challenge of standing like a statue for hours for such slippery prey. Then again, she shivered lightly, maybe a chill from doing so would not be as fun. She almost visibly shrugged to herself as she trotted out from the small cluster of trees and bushes, anything edible would be great.
