Ouija didn't really have a purpose for this trip other than to randomly go out and venture. That didn't mean that something wouldn't end up being found. One just had to consider all options and they would find a use for most everything in the world around them. And well, that at is what Ouija did. With some of the things that he randomly crafted then he just used whatever he picked up and found. Oftentimes he had collected items without realizing what he would do with them right away. It never hurt to have some things stored away just in case. They could always become of use later. Whether for a project of his own or traded out for someone else to use. Either way there always could be some sort of use found for things that he came across.

Ouija had made his way out to the opposite coast than the one that he had come from. He wasn't certain what was around the area but that was why he was looking around. There was no way that he would know what this new land had in store if he never went out and searched around. He would have to explore if he were to learn anything. So for now he was exploring a small island just a short swim from the shore itself. The land wasn't all that big and was actually rather flat. In fact from where he was at he could easily spy on what was going on upon the landmass of Nova Scotia. After all he wasn't far out at all but it had been the driftwood that had attracted him. Wood could always be used. There were so many things that could be crafted from it or so many other projects it could be used in.

So of course seeing the wood that was just easy pickings he couldn't help himself. It didn't matter that the area this new pack that he had gotten himself involved with was within the forested area. This wood here was already on the ground and didn't need to be scavenged from the trees, such was the attraction to it. He could just pick it up and go with it. It was ready for use just the way that it was.

So sorry about the horrid wait

She was wandering. That was the only word for the aimless attraction the youth had to the coast. Paws dragged like heavy weights waterlogged with sand and salty ocean. Each step took her farther away from the territory she knew best. A wind rich with the scent of rain and stinging salt took her breath away as it launched her in the side and off balance, forced into stepping in the dryer sand that stuck to her wet fur.

Ever clenched her teeth behind her white lips and walked on. After a little longer of worthless walking, large planks of drift wood appeared on the beach, looming on the horizon like trees still standing. She sheltered behind one for a short moment to clean a bleeding pad. The morning had the subtle fragrance of rain and now it was a strong pull that promised more bad weather. Not for the first time, the youth wanted to make sure she wasn’t caught in the storm.

Setting off again more quickly, the girl couldn’t help let out an exasperated sigh as another form interrupted her walk. It was a male, that was annoyingly distinguished when a breeze blast her in the face. She was in a bad mood but it was easy to get a handle on as it melted away while she slid into the shade and cover of the big pine trees of the forest. Cautiously, Ever peeked from behind a thick trunk and relaxed as her body twisted into Optime form. Finding herself looking at a higher notch in the tree, the youth curled her hands around the bark and looked over her auburn muzzle at his back.

Ouija seemed so intent on what he was doing that he hadn't bothered to notice anything else. Even the promise of bad weather hadn't captured his attention. But it wasn't like a little rain had ever hurt anybody. And the island he was on wasn't so far out that he had to worry about rough water really. All he was really concerned with was picking up the smaller pieces before they grew to be too wet and had to be dried out once more. It was the ones like that that he had used to carve out the handle to his athame. This size was quite useful for any number of small projects. And well, it wasn't like he undertook too many large tasks anyways.

It was as he was moving further along to gather a bit more that he finally noticed the scent of another in the area. He lifted his head to notice that he had practically came upon the hidden female before he had ever noticed her. A smile slipped over his lips when he finally realized that he wasn't alone. "Why hello, Nymph. Guarding the trees?" He gave the words as he made to move closer to where the female was. He moved so that he could clasp the opposite side of the tree that the other was on.

A rumble from above had him glancing up then looking back to the other wolf. "Looks like the weather is taking a turn for the worse." Even though he mentioned he didn't seem in a hurry to leave. Actually he didn't seem at all disturbed by the approaching bad weather. Instead he had moved one of his hands to try to lay it over the hand that Ever had on the tree already. "You have somewhere to hide, don't you little Nymph? It would be a bad stroke of luck if you didn't. And I have to say that I would feel responsible if something happened to nature's guardian."

The swift movement of the male’s head jerking up made the girl suck in a startled breath. His shoulder blades tensed before he came face to face with her. She could see an ungracious smile tug at the corner of his lips from over her amber muzzle. Why hello, Nymph. Guarding the trees? At first the words made her ears perk up with interest, but as the male came closer she could feel his breath around the gnarled trunk. Then she stiffened her fingers tight around the bark. He was too close to be trusted so soon.

A rumble above the thick canopy of pine nettles made both of the wolves look up. The girl could almost see the rain start tumbling from the branches and onto her already damp coat. She was distracted only for a second on the gray splotches behind the rich green, before she felt her hand behind covered. He had made such a flirtatious move so fast it made her stomach flip with fear. Was he trying to seduce her?

His next words that spilled out of his odd colored muzzle only made her eyes harden with disgust. She curled her lip back, revealing sharp snow white teeth and pulled her hand away from the bark, leaving light gashes in the cedar.

Get off.

The silver female snarled, her eyes flashing. She deliberately ignored the rest of the male’s feeble comments towards her. Her tail twitched with impatience as he skeptically examined her with a sharp expression. Nothing about him made her feel safe.

Her only spoken words had him dropping his hand. It wasn't the first time that his actions had gotten him in trouble but it certainly wouldn't be the last. He understood the word no though. But when finding another in lupus form it became difficult to understand that word. There was just something about someone in lupus form and simply wanting to pass on the virus that he had been born with. He wanted everyone to experience life as he did. To know the wonders of having hands and just what they could.

But seeing as she already had the same form as he did he wasn't so distracted by the thought of sharing his gift with her that he had actually listened to her. He even leaned back some, pressing his back to a different tree. He turned his head in order to stare out where the rain had started to fall. "Perhaps not a wood nymph at all. Mayhaps a water nymph instead?" The mused words were spoken out. He hadn't been talking to her per say but just speaking out loud what was on his mind. He didn't expect her to answer even if he had spoken to her. After all she had neglected everything that he had already said. No, the words had just come from the way that the rain seemed to mimic her foul mood.

"Perhaps it won't grow too bad or last too long." He spoke out quietly, staring out at the falling rain still. For the time being it seemed as if he had forgotten all about the female's presence as he remained pressed close to the tree that he had rested against in order to shelter himself from the rain. He normally didn't mind the rain but right now he didn't want to get all of the dry wood that he had collected all wet. After all he had picked it up because it had been dry.

He removed his hand immediately. The action made her breath a little easier as she slid her claws down the side of the tree quietly until they rested comfortable at her sides. She watched him, eyes expressionless. Several strides were taken backwards to a tree that loomed silently in the gathering, ashen colored light. Her tail wrapped around the other side of the trunk as if securing herself. But it didn’t work.

The youth was a curious creature. She slunk in between the lumbering monsters of oaks and in and out of shadowy pools until Ever had reached a tree separating him from her by only four strides. He could have reached out and touched her, though she kept her eyes hard and stable. For only a moment she felt bad for her actions, until she remembered what it was like to be played with and crushed in the same hour. Not again. She wasn’t looking for any trouble.

His gaze slid past her frame and into the ocean of gray clouds. The thin pale yellow line of the horizon remained steady behind the wild thrashing of the sea. Ever let the silence stretch between the pair as they gazed out into the oasis. A strong breeze knitted itself into the plethora of red curls that flowed long and kempt from between auburn ears. Perhaps he had forgotten about her, lost in the blankness of the afternoon. Gaze flittered between tree branches above and sparse pebbles bellow while black fingers tangled into once another.

A boom above succeeded in making her shoulder twitch. Nervous as it had made her, Ever smoothed her face back into the expressionless mask perfected with skill. So here it came. The rain made its way down from the heavens nearly 2 seconds after the clap of thunder dulled to a low rustle. Wind raped the trees, stripping away dead bark in another bone chilling breeze. She wished she could hug herself. Turn and walk down to the hot sand and rock. But she didn’t of course. Ever couldn’t lean on her heels away from the male. Another minute went by without any sound except the muffled sound of watery drops and howling wind.

An ear twitched as he heard the female approach but he made no move to actually look at her. Instead his attention was focused on the weather. It was clear he wasn't a forecaster in the slightest, not when the wind had picked up and he had hoping for it to remain light. Or perhaps he could be a weather forecaster since they never got it right anyways. But it wasn't like he had ever claimed that he could read the shifting tides of the clouds and the weather that they predicted. It had all been a hope, one that wasn't destined to be fruitful.

He pressed himself closer to the tower as the wind whipped through the trees and served to bring in rain with it. That brought him to try to edge around the tower he had pressed himself to in order to get away from it. "Or perhaps it won't be." He placed the words into the air in a manner that could be confused as having mused to himself. But that could be exactly what he was doing since the female wasn't speaking to him anyways. Still he carried on the one sided conversation anyways.

The sound from overhead had him flinching. He wasn't scared as much as he hadn't expected it and just how loud it was hurting his ears for a moment. Slowly he turned his head to look at the other canine with him. He held out his hand towards her though he doubted that she would actually take it. "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen. I just think it would be best if we found somewhere safer and drier in order to wait this out." He wouldn't be surprised if she ended up opposing. It wasn't like he could force her either. "Don't want you growing ill. If so I would be forced to carry you back to where you belong to make sure you get there safely and are cared for." He figured that if he gave her an option that she was sure to see as being as worse that she might agree to finding somewhere else to wait out the storm.
