Though Gabriel calls for Anu, I would be okay with someone else jumping in before she does. Obviously any of the puppies are welcome. Big Grin +3

The trees had begun to lose the fiery colors of October for the burnt-brown of November, and it was then that Gabriel realized he would need to go. If he waited any longer, winter would come and cut his desire and ability to travel down. He had left Inferni during the night, letting Hybrid know he would be gone for a few days, and begun traveling south. The coy-wolf moved at an easy pace, avoiding the pack borders as they came. He had made it to the city by the morning, slept briefly, and continued on from there. Human things did not interest him as they did the majority of the luperci he had met.

He stopped to hunt mid-afternoon in Ethereal Eclipse. The first attempt, against a wary doe, left him empty handed. Luckily, several hours later, he found a young buck with obvious signs of a lost fight on him. The rut had made the bucks stupid, and he was glad for this. Gabriel managed to take the young male down easily. He ate his fill. It was growing dark, and after a near full day of travel (and large meal) the Aquila sought shelter. A rocky overhang suited his purpose just fine, and after taking the time to break off a leg, the coy-wolf contently chewed on the thing until he fell asleep.

After a short nap (he slept like a wolf, in two hour sessions regularly through the day) the Aquila was up again. He found that other scavengers had taken parts from his kill, but he was after the small antlers. After fussing with them for longer than intended, he had the two sections tucked into the small bag he had brought along for the journey and continued on his way. By noon, he was at the northern-most point of the Crimson Dreams border. Settling onto his haunches, the scarred male let out a wolfish howl for Anu.

Cypress gave a heavy sigh, shifting his head slightly where it lay between two paws as he laid on the cold wooden floor of the manor's living room. Typically by this time of day the youth would have been far from the manor, off on some adventure. Exploring some new corner of the territory with secrets waiting to be discovered or pressing his limits beyond the safety of the Crimson Dreams territory. Today he just lacked the motivation to get up and go. Something that had plaqued him since the night Jazper had scared him.

The large black male had wished to teach Cypress a lesson about being out too late at night. The message had certainly gotten across. That wasn't all he had learned that night. He know knew what it was to be ashamed of one's self. He was ashamed of the fear he had felt that night. Oak wouldn't have been scared, true or not Cypress believed it. It was bad enough he had to be the smallest, he didn't want to let Oak be the bravest too. Though it wouldn't be fair to call him a runt, for the brown and black pup was hardly scrawny. Except when he was compared to his brothers. Wallowing in his shallow self pity, Cypress was content to waste the day laying about on the floor. Though soon or later he knew his mother would chase him out the door as soon as she found him just laying about, as she always did.

In the end, it wouldn't be his mother at all that roosted the youth from his sulking pose on the floor, but a call for her instead. It wasn't the first such call he had heard, though perhaps the first for his mother specifically. It awoke a curiosity in the young male, one that had been abnormally absent as of late, bring him at last to his feet and headed out into the world which he was normally found. He didn't understand what caused him to investigate the call, nor did he even bother to question it. Overly large paws carried the pup towards the source. Limbs still growing and lanky he was hardly stealthy in his approach, still he slowed as he grew nearer and the strong, unfamiliar scent filled his nose. The boy attempted to keep himself hidden as he crept closer, trying to catch sight of whoever it was that had called for his mother.

thanks so much for starting this!! <33

Anu had decided to allow her shadow to follow her through his adolescence. There had been a moment where she had tried to push him from her metaphorical nest and he always returned no matter how she pushed. His masked face looked to her for everything in the world, and Anu could not deny her son her the simple company that he asked for. And she taught him, and when her voice was winded and she could no longer find things to preach about there was a silence that they both seemed to bask and absorb as if it was the warm and raze of the Sun. He was content as well, as they roamed the forests of their home, speaking as the wolves before them did. The ones without a voice.

A call such as that, primal and elementary, rang through the air and the fur along her back rose and she looked to the large adolescent that stood just beyond a tall fir tree and watched as his did the same. Blue eyes looked at her and she saw something in those pools of water and sky. They traveled to the darkness they settled in and her felt the chill run its course and leave her with a small warmth of familiarity in her chest.

Without a word she continued north, the boy following. The Inferni king’s scent came to her and her felt her son tense as he stood beside her. He clung to her side, and though he was larger then her already at merely six months of age his demeanor had not changed from puphood. There was another, and it was scent of Cypress that made her approach quicken.

The light hued female broke through the leafless landscape with the same ease and grace as if she approached at a leisurely stroll, her eyes looking at the fire tinge that she knew would be there to greet her. Gabriel She spoke with the same warmth that she had held for him in the past, such a thing had not changed.

Sorry for the delay, didn't know if all the puppies would be joining. :]

As he sat there, body still but mind anxious, the coy-wolf heard the noisy approach of a stranger. It stopped very quickly, and while Gabriel fixed his eyes to the source of the sound, he could not spot it. This did not matter. He sensed, rather than saw, the approaching woman. She was exactly as he remembered, save one fact. A gangly, sable-shaded pup who was not yet on the cusp of adulthood. Gabriel did not need to guess whose child it was. Everything about the boy echoed of his own existence, though the eyes were doubtlessly his mother’s. The boy looked like a wolf. This was good. He had hoped for such a thing.

There was only the slightest bow of the head given to the woman, for he greeted her as equals—as if they were merely leaders of separate packs. It was all they could be, he had realized. They lived in different worlds; she under the sun, and him under a banner of war and bloodshed. He would have destroyed her. He would have destroyed his own children, as it had been with the first. These bastard wolves would be safe from the enemies of Mudbloods, as he had wished for them to be for her sake. “Anu,” he whispered seductively. Though his voice was gruff, his eyes were oddly warm and the ghost of a smile lingered on his face. “I heard you were well, but came to see for myself.” He spoke with double meaning: I heard about the children. His eyes trailed to the masked boy, studying his face and realizing how much of his mother there actually was in there.

The dead and dry leaves that littered the ground were no help to the boy as he tried to remain hidden from sight, crawling foward as his belly dragged across the ground. They rustled and crunched with every move he made, slowing his progress. He did not yet understand the reasoning for his caution. The scent of the stranger was strong, and intimidating. It was instinct that had called the boy from the manor and instinct now that halted him from making a hasty approach. He tried to get a look at the unknown male, but there was too much underbrush between the two.

Cypress knew his mother would show up sooner or later. It wasn't until she heard her voice that he felt confident enough to come out of hiding. Believing that he was safe from all harm in the presence of his momma the boy darted out from his place among the whithering undergrowth. He skidded to a halt at the sight of the two adults. Looking from the male he had never seen to his mother and back again. The large frame of his brother completely overlooked. Cypress had no idea who he was, but he felt sure he didn't like the way he looked at his momma. Feeling the odd sensation of the hair along his back beginning it rise.

The ebon and brown mottled pup crossed the remaining distance to his mother's side. Though his pace was slow, walking stiff legged and not taking his blue eyes off the stranger. Seeming to forget that if it wasn't for Anu's presence he wouldn't even of had the courage to leave the hiding from spot from which he had try to spy the stranger.

Big Grin

The adolescent male leaned into her side, blue eyes blinking as he looked at his mothers placid face. Her cream and silver features did not look to him, but the white and tan scarred male that stood on their lands without much of a word. She was calm against him, he could hear her heart and it beat differently now then normal. Faster he felt, large round tipped ears listened but his mind could not focus on any other but the scarred face male that had wandered into their home land. At his mother voice he found him and he looked at the golden eyes with a new understanding.

Anu could not take her eyes off the I.nferni leader, though she had wondered for the briefest of moments where the scent of her other son was lingering. But the doggish male distracted her thoughts, his tone and words meaning more then what they gave along their surface. She wondered what he had heard, but her face turned to the smaller son that strode to her other side. The white and tan boy’s face was unlike anything Anu had seen before, and her brows furrowed slightly. But it didn’t last, her calm returning as her gaze returned to the fellow leader. We are well. She spoke, the corners of her mouth drawn up once again.

She knew that their lives would be separated, always standing on either sides of a well drawn line. The Dreamer did not wish for it to be as it was, but that life and fate was beyond her control and so she did not seek to command its change. This is Alder, and Cypress. Anu spoke, looking to the boys as she spoke their names. There is another, Oak. The female gave. She could see it in his eyes that this was why he was here. This is Gabriel, your father. Her voice was fluid and without fault as she introduced them.

The two boys at her side towered over her. He saw himself in them, but he did not wish to. They would never belong to him—they would never be able to exist in his world. Inferni was not a place for Anu’s children, regardless of who their father was. She could not raise warriors. She was strong, but she was not made for war. Gabriel had seen his first litter suffer tremendously. He would not stand by and see such a thing happen again.

A ghost of a smile crossed his face at her warmth, but it did not linger. He focused on the two children, boys who were still young enough to be called such, and said nothing. It was not his place to speak, not yet. They had the right to this from him, and he would grant them their voices.

Cypress tried to keep his bravado up, but as the unknown male's eyes fell upon him he could feel himself deflate under their gaze. The youth had been foolish enough to attempt to stare down the hybrid male on his approach but as those fiery orbs met his own bright blue, the boy could only hold his gaze a moment, before being casting his eyes towards the ground. The feeling was uncomfortable and there was a sense of something between his mother and this male. His mind still to naive to make any sense of the looks and soft smiles shared by the adults.

It was not the first time that Cyp had been through one of his mother's introductions. At the sound of his name he had looked once again to the stranger, giving a slight smile and nod of his head. The scars on the male's face catching the youths eye and interest. Unaware that he stared at the lines of bare flesh that marred the furred face, the question of their origin written clearly in his eyes.

His father? Deep blue pools pulled away from the scars of the stranger's face as Cypress's head spun to look first to Anu, then back to Gabriel. Only to turn back to his dam once again. Of coarse his mother had told them all that they had a father, that he lived in, as well as lead, another pack. Yet, Cypress had never quite imagined him as a creature of flesh and blood that he would one day meet. Even though his mother had told him that there would be opportunity for such a thing. It had seemed so much like all the other childhood stories that would never come true. The brown and sable youth did not know what to think and found himself, of all things, speechless. Cautious and unsure, he took a tentative step forward. His head much lower than when he had first strutted up in faux defiance. "Father?" His brow furrowed in uncertainty as he asked the other to confirm this, leaving no room for doubt.

Anu knew that this would be an uneasy moment in the lives of her sons, as well as the adults. But she had not known how to make this easier for any of them, or how to prepare them any more then she had for this introduction. If she spoke too much of him they would yearn to be part of his life, and that was merely impossible. Their worlds were separated, distinctly. And if Anu chose to never give them the secret then she would be holding back a truth far bigger then she was and setting her sons up for a devastating reality. So it had been the bits and pieces that spoke of Gabriel and yet defined his role in the world. He was a leader, living in a world that was not close to their lives and his place was not to be their father but an alpha of a clan far far away.

The voice that came forward was not of the doggish male but of her son, a question on his tongue. Her blue eyes turned to meet their matching in Cypress’ gaze, and she gave a comforting smile. But he did not look to her for this reassurance, but to him. Her smile faltered only slightly, and when it returned her looked back to Gabriel, and waited. She was surprise to not see in the corner of her eyes his head hanging low and eyes avoiding the Inferni alpha. He was watching, curious and yet she could feel that he shook ever so slightly at the knees.

The masked boy did not say anything, his pulse so rapid that could almost hear it as he leaned into her. She knew that he would be frightened, as he was meeting most new faces. Part of her wished to ask the more careful and quiet of her offspring to greet her friend, but she would not force him to speak if he did not wish to. She looked to the scarred beast, her smile remaining, Are those of Inferni well? It was proper to be polite, as she always taught them through example. But her greatest hope was that his world’s wars had calmed and it was because of peace that he was able to venture south to seem them and not a desperate need to escape it.

The boys looked wary, and Gabriel wondered if perhaps this was due to their upbringing. He had not wanted them to need to fear, and Crimson Dreams was the only place that he considered truly neutral. Inferni was hardly a place for them. Turning his eyes back to Anu, he smiled faintly. “Well enough,” he said. This was certainly true. He would not have left otherwise. “Things have been calm since Haku’s death.”

Turning his face back towards the boy who had spoken, Gabriel rose and approached. “You can call be Gabriel, if it would suit you better.” Perhaps them acting as strangers would suit the boys better. He sniffed at the boy, who was much smaller than him, and then looked to the blue eyed woman again. “They’re quiet,” he said, a trace of humor creeping into his voice.

sorry for the lateness and shortness <33

Cypress wasn't sure just exactly how he was suppose to feel. It all seemed rather surreal, meeting the father he had never known. He just wasn't sure what to make of it or the swirl of emotions he felt within. Feeling the bite of nervousness and shyness that always seemed to plague is largest sibling. The youth just wished he knew what was exactly was expected of him in such a situation. So instead he seemed rather frozen, blue eyes examining the male while his tongue stayed silent and still.

Cypress swallowed hard in an attempt to defeat his nervousness as Gabriel approached. His tail thumping lightly against the littered forest floor. Even if he didn't know well, or at all, he was excited to have the attention of his father and place a couple of excited licks to the underside of the much larger male's jaw. "Gabriel," he said, trying the name out on his tongue. "Mmm," he sounded quite unsure. "I think I like father, is that okay?" The boy asked the question rather tentatively, blue orbs looking up at a fiery gold.

She wondered what her largest and yet smallest of voiced son was thinking. Though she could feel the beat of his heart against her, its pace fast and loud, she still wished to know what it was that he felt. Later perhaps she would ask him to tell her what he was feeling, and maybe explain a bit more about her history with the scared male.

Gabriel spoke, his answer bringing her a much needed relief. Though the clan was not her own Anu hoped and wished for the best for them. She felt the same for all the packs, believing that they all had the right to live in these lands if it was their wish. She only asked that her family would be left to live in the same peace and comfort. She had lived her life with such a hopeful blindness.

I am glad to hear that. She spoke with a smile.

Anu felt the tension rise in the body beside her as the doggish male came closer. No matter how at ease she was herself Alder remained unknowing and likely battling with his fear and emotions. Masked eyes watched as well as Cypress accepted this truth that was unraveling before the four and even wished to be closer to the Inferni alpha then Anu figured he would want to be. She smiled, and looked at Alder and then back to Gabriel, This is not normal for them, not so easily impressed. She said, her smile widening at the tone she caught from his two words and shared her own bit of humor.

She felt the wag of the other boy’s tail against her, perhaps easing ever so slightly with the change of her tone. Black nose reached out to sniff at the male, noticing the attention that was given to Cypress and perhaps seeking out a bit for himself.

Cypress, whose dark fur mirrored Gabriel’s own if a shade or two cooler, responded warmly to his approach. The sign of submissiveness and puppy-like antics made Gabriel realize exactly how wolf-like these boys were. He smiled slightly, and nodded in response to the boy’s query. Anu’s voice pulled him away, finding that she understood his undertone. How odd that the two of them would make such children. They were certainly their mother’s, this he was clear on. Not even Talitha had been so frightened of the world, though she had learned quickly there was much to fear.

“I would hope this place doesn’t see much of people like me,” he replied to her. As the other boy leaned forward, Gabriel moved to meet his nose, taking in the scents that were not his own. The boys did not bear his masculine, smoky scent, and once more he was glad. Perhaps no one would know of his involvement and this would keep them safe. Satisfied with his investigation for the time, he dropped a hand to his back and produced the small antlers. “I brought these for the boys,” he said. “Ezekiel used to love chewing on them.”
