Follow the Road...

[I'd like someone to give Aquila a reason to leave Sable et Rivages.]

Aquila woke to the noise he still hadn't grown accustomed to, even after living outside of the big city for so long. It'd been a whole month since he'd met his first wolf, and he hadn't heard much from them since. The attic space of the house he'd been living in was more cozy than it had been when he moved in- some scavenging in the ruined houses had procured some blankets and even an old couch cushion. Yet he still wasn't satisfied. He crawled out from under the blankets, and stretched, then shook violently for a moment before padding toward the gaping hole in the roof, his impromptu window. This was good- He loved the rain. 'Tears of the Gods', the Shaman called it. He paced down the collapsed floor of the attic, jumping to the ground floor and hopping through the window- the waterlogged door was locked. He paced through the drizzle to the small clearing, the ground made up of some black rock that the grass was slowly overtaking. The coyote padded through the street, eyes calmly sweeping from one side of the street to the other. the coast was clear- he began following the road toward the center of the small town.

Hello Smile

The rain was comforting sometimes. It helped Axelle think about things as she watched the drops fall. She sat under a large tree, yes, not smart during a lightning storm. She once read in a book that lightning likes tall trees. She looked up to see if the tree she was under was a threat. It was. It was big tree. Well, no lightning is good lightning in this case.

There was no life in the streets of the small town except for puddles forming, and…Oh! A small coyote type thing was crossing the street across from her. She stood in her spot. Finally, some life! She didn’t like feeling wet and clammy, but this was a good reason. New friends! She quickly padded toward the smaller looking coyote across the street from her. She didn’t bother to look around because she knew there was no one else around except for herself, and this canine.

She quickly caught up to him because of her long legs. She stayed behind him, though, studying him. Was he the edgy type? Or the calm type? Edgy types were not the kind to be calm in a situation like this. Axelle didn’t feel up to a fight today. On the other hand, calm types would stay almost or completely calm in a situation involving a strange wolf coming out of nowhere. Well, the only way to find out was to go for it.

She padded alongside the smaller canine, and looked at him. He was trotting pretty quickly, but she had no problem keeping up. She hoped he noticed her by now. She decided to begin with small talk.

Nice weather, eh?
