Layla was starting to feel a bit better thanks to the help of her pack mates and some of the others she had met around Dahlia de Mai. Not only was her mood coming back up but she was also still not herself. She was helping her out more with her medical skills. Perhaps getting an achievement in the pack would help even more to increase her mood. If she kept up with her medical work, she would hopefully reach one of her goals of getting the co-rank of Apothecary. The mistress gave a small sigh as before she rolled out of bed. The morning was bright but the temperature was dropping. Winter was here and she was sure that snow would soon be here. Even though the female’s fur was built for cooler weather, she never did like the winter season. The she wolf just hoped it would pass by soon and she would have nothing to worry about.

Layla moved over to her closet and browsed through her clothes. There weren’t many outfits and only one she actually wore most of the time. The mistress grabbed her red top as well as her black skirt and slipped into them. They provided some warmth to her body, but not as much as her fur was. Once she was dressed, she headed downstairs and to her herb room. The black and white she wolf noticed that she was slowly running out of herbs and would have to go get some more. She got up and grabbed her supplies before leaving a note telling Saluce she was out to get more herbs. She was sure this would make him a bit happier seeing as he wanted her to take her depression in steps and try something each day. Once she was all prepared, she moved to the door and headed out into the world.

Thankfully Layla didn’t have to go to far to find what she was looking for. The aloe herb was growing on the banks of the river and it was free for her to take and use. The mistress took her seat next to the plant and took out the jar that had some aloe herbs left in it. She was restocking up on this one and would then look for some of the other herbs that she would need. So far it looked like today was going to be a nice and relaxing day.

Thanks to ever for this table. Yay 2d post. To bad my muse juice is low. Mind if we set this like.. A day or two after Kemo's rape? That would help the wounds be more heal-able and stuff.

"Layla?" The faint voice of the thin hybrid arose from just across the small area of water. Her coat was soaked with blood, staining her once silky fur. She stared at the creature, then down at her two front paws. There was no way for her to be sure that the wolf was going to help her; especially after she had only met her once. She had only fond memories of the female, earthy smelling herbs that helped heal her wounds, and knowing hands that showed her the magic that stitches could do.. All with her moody mate on the same property. The male had saved Yuki from a mountain lion, but had also killed it in the process. The beast was both strong and powerful, his experienced teeth easily puncturing her skin through thick fur. The male had saved her from the animal, yes, but with murderous paws.

Yuki knew she should be in pain. But her numbness only increased. She could feel her heart pounding behind her ribs, the blood remaining in her body rushing through her veins. But the physical suffering was not present. She took a few more steps into the water, the dull stinging of the cold fading away. She came to a stop about mid-way across, staring down at her bloodied reflection and breathing heavily. With each step she took, the broken rib was becoming less and less fixable.

She tried to breath in more of the late fall weather, but none seemed to come. Her lids fell over her tired eyes and her legs collapsed, her seemingly lifeless body barely holding against the currents of the rough water. The girl was unconscious.

Layla paused when she heard the voice just a bit away. Whoever it was was calling her name and she didn’t want to ignore what sounded like a cry for help. The mistress packed up her herbs and then raced around listening and trying to find the source of the voice. Finally she found the loner drowning in her own blood. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The worse part was it someone she had already helped out before. How could this have happened? She raced to the female’s side and began to pull out her supplies. She may have still been feeling a bit depressed, but she was not about to abandon someone who needed her help. She paniced and made sure to begin her work as quickly as possible.

Layla would have to clean her off before she could find the source of the bleeding and block it off. She realized that she had nothing to use to transport the water over to Yuki. She quickly pulled everything out of her bag and raced over to the water with it. She filled the bag with the water and then trotted back to the patient. Carefully she poured the water on the loner’s body to wash the blood off. She looked better when she was cleaner but she noticed her slipping out of conciousness. The mistress pulled her supplies over and got to work. It looked like the most serious wound was on her chest. She grabbed her herbs and first began with the aloe to help deal with the wound itself. She also had some ginger set aside just in case Yuki woke up with some side effects. The black and white she wolf finished spreading the aloe and grabbed her bandages. If she needed stitches then it was going to be a long run home to get them. She hoped this would be enough. ”Come on Yuki, don’t give up on me. Come back.”
