Arnette was tired of being stuck in the house, she decided it was a good day to just try to get a little adventure done. She made sure her mama knew that she wouldn’t be too far, but as she got to exploring the cold wet terrain she found herself further than she thought she would be. her head perked up, in wonder as she found herself in front of a huge cave, that GLOWED! It was amazing, but she stayed far away from it. The water was wet… and even colder than the air above, but she was so curious there was something in that cave that made her want to go explore it, but she was apprehensive, she had no one there to watch her. she didn’t want to get in trouble at all, so she just sat, she wasn’t THAT far from her home, but she was far enough to where she wouldn’t go further than she had to, but this glowing water was transfixing her. why was it glowing? Where did it all come from? Why was a cave inside water? She thought they never had water in them… that was the impression the puppy got. She was trying to answer her own questions as she lay down and put her head in her paws trying to think of what solution she had for all of this new and confusing stuff. She wanted to know what that wooden thing was, or why it was there… how it got there, who it belonged to… so many questions in one little mind, it was hard to keep her thoughts all straight. Her tail swayed and her ears moved back and forth as she thought that might help give her the answers she was seeking. it didn’t but she kept at it anyway, trying to make up her own mind as to how it got there.

It was not often that Vigilante took the time to venture down to the Grotto, but as the King had much on his mind, it seemed more fitting to take time for himself in a place where he did not expect to be found immediately. It was rare for him to be intentionally unavailable to his pack members, but given everything in his mind, it seemed that he would not be much help for them regardless. It would be better to think things through without interruption so that he could become more readily available faster.

As the caramel-colored lupus King approached the grotto, however, he realized that he was certainly not going to be alone, but he did not have a problem with that. He was sure of that, as he thought it was high time he get to know Ruri and Heath's small brood personally. He trotted to where the girl lay with her head on her paws. "Hello, Arnette. What are you doing way out here?" he asked, smiling down at her.

It seemed she’d been sitting there for some time before she heard someone behind her, her ears swiveled behind her before her head turned, but it seemed she was safe. She knew the voice that came to her ears well enough as the leader’s and that meant that she wasn’t about to get attacked, or eaten, or anything else that might happen that was bad.

Uncle Vigi!

She said delighted, she remembered him from his sparce visits, and though he really wasn’t her uncle that’s what she called him, she called most of the pack that wasn’t really much family uncle or aunt that she’d known since she could remember, and her leader, who she knew was the leader, and she needed to listen to just as much, if not more than her parents.

I’m just looking at that thing over there.

She answered, she didn’t ask him a question about it, though her eyes were scanning her leader to see if he would have the answers she needed to be satisfied about this mystery. She then looked at the wreckage again and it seemed to suddenly become boring, now that someone was here, and one she knew he could talk and give out what she wanted to know she would rather pay attention to him. Though she still asked few questions.

This was not a spot he often visited, though the first time he had seen it did remain in his memory. He had been fairly new to the pack and had come down to the grotto on his own, but he had met a striking woman named Tokyo there. It had been the only time he had ever met the woman, but he was glad for it, as Princess Chance had given him some insight to her past and Tokyo had been an unfortunate key player.

Vigilante could feel the expectant gaze she was giving him after she explained why she was there, and he chuckled. "If you would like to go down and see it closer, I can take you and you'll be safe," he offered, knowing that safety was the most important thing when it came to puppies. When his own arrived, he feared that he would be the most over-protective father in the world. "It's an old human ship," he added.

OOC: Short post fail ; ;

His offer made her ears perk up and her tail wag, but that was as much excitement as she would show. She nodded looking towards the thing that Vigilante called a ship, that was an interesting name.

Oh that would be fun, it looks like a mystery!

Though she was such a young pup, her voice told that her mother had been working on keeping her puppie’s vocabulary consistent and used right. Arnette never had any problems with her speech being slurred or mumbled, she always made herself clear. She looked up at her king her eyes weren’t so much of the knowledge she had… but the knowledge she wanted to know, and right know she wanted to know how they were to get across t this new discovery… well new to her.

Vigilante chuckled at the enthusiasm and curiousity in the young girl before him, and he hoped that his own children would be as sweet as his Dauphine and Chancellor's. He did not know what to expect of his own children, and he knew that it would be an interesting adventure. His experience with puppies was limited and he did not have any children by blood, and Ayita was jaded by her relationship with her daughter and absent son. They would do well, though.

"Well, let's go down, then," he suggested with a smile. Many puppies had a sense of adventure and he wanted to allow Arnette to exercise hers as much as possible, so he would allow her to lead them down to see the mystery of the ship. Curled tail wagged against his back at the prospect of teaching her about the grotto and its hidden ship.

Arnette took a tentative step towards the looming object in the distance as her leader encouraged her, she was slightly scared, but what pup in their right mind wouldn’t be? She paused at her first step and looked up at her with her big eyes. Then, moved forward after turning back, she kept as close to ground as she could, knowing the water that was beside her was quite cold and made her shiver even more if she were to get wet. She moved further into the cave, the dark, damp place… that’s what scared her, and she hesitated again, but only for a short while. She again moved until her nose could touch the rotting old wooden structure, and she looked up.

It is big!

She explained out loud, she wasn’t sure if she should touch it… it kinda looked gross and old, and not so very sturdy, she didn’t want it falling on her or anything.

Vigilante chuckled to himself as he walked beside the puppy, not wanting to allow her to walk too far away from him incase she slipped on the damp ground or fell in the water. He would not risk his Dauphine's puppy getting hurt under his watch, but he was not obvious about his vigilance. The two of them could have fun exploring the grotto without her even knowing he was watching her so carefully.

"It is!" he said, curled tail wagging gently against his back. "What do you think it's doing down here?" he asked her. He knew what it had been used for, though he wasn't certain if she knew, but he was curious to know her take on the sunken ship.

Arnette was careful as she moved along the side of the ship until she was about to touch the water that the ship rested in, looking it up and down, trying to get a good look of what it was, though even the name she didn’t even know what it was. She looked up at the king and shook her head.

Nu uh well maybe it was a house... I think…

But that wasn’t true… not entirely but she was not the one to question things out loud, and by saying that, she might get a proper answer. She was not afraid of being wrong. Or even giving the wrong answer. She looked at the thing… it looked kind of like a house, but it was curved, and it had been in the water, so she was deducing it might be a house that floated maybe. That was a good explanation, but she’d already given her answer and she looked up at her leader, waiting for his answer, nearly being distracted by his curly tail, her own wagging a little faster now, knowing he was enjoying himself, though at this point the only thing that mattered was her finding out what this ship’s purpose was.

<3 192 words.

In his past, puppies had never been something major in his life. His nieces and his nephew had been important to him, but his work had been a much larger part of his life than family closeness had been. Things had changed dramatically for him since his arrival in Cour des Miracles. He was glad to have puppies running around the pack now. It was nice to have other puppies in the pack that Kambujiya could play with, and Vigilante hoped that the little orphaned (or lost, he supposed) boy would enjoy playing with little Arnette and her brother Forte.

The little girl spoke and the King smiled at her. "I bet they slept in it like they would a house," he said to her. "It can float on the water, but I guess this one can't anymore, and I think that it used to be used for travelling on the water. Since it took such a long time because the ocean is so big, they probably had somewhere to sleep in there, too," he added. "I'm not sure how it came to be here, though, bit I think it's really neat."

WC: 180 OOC: did I mention she gets herself into trouble? Big Grin

As Vigilante explained what it was, she couldn’t help but gape, this huuuuuge thing use to float on the water? That seemed so impossible to the young pup. She knew wood floated. But it looked so heavy, like a rock of sorts, I made her apprehensive. How could that be possible? But Vigil had never been a liar before, so she had to believe it.

Yeah it is really neat. I bet someone put it here to hide it, I bet there’s treasure inside!

She said, wagging her tail, her game of treasure hunt was one that would get the puppy into trouble. She looked around to find a hole small enough for her and her excitement got the better of her as she squeezed into the little hole, there had to be a treasure here! It was dark though, so very dark except for the holes that lined the ship from the salt eating at the wood, and mold and algae, anything that enjoyed the taste of wet wood, that mattered little to her, she was on an adventure!!
