Para Teddy. wc: 431

As much as the Marino had been dreading and avoiding going out east, he'd finally reached the point where he couldn't put it off any longer. Still, the farthest he would allow himself to drift was to the inner streets of Halifax. The thought of the Valley pack lands just outside of the eastern edge of the city lingered in his mind no matter how much he wanted to ignore it, continually trying to goad him into stopping by. Ehno knew it would be pointless, though. His children wouldn't be there. Rio had disappeared after what had happened to her, and if Harlowe was smart, he would have bolted from the lands after what he'd done to his sister. He couldn't even venture to guess whether Lucia still remained within her birth pack. No, there was nothing there for the Dreamer now.

Ehno just wanted to get into the city, get what he needed, and get out. He'd taken his sweet time making the trek all the way out here from Crimson Dreams, but he would have to pick up the pace now. He'd once again found how wonderfully distracting his carpentry could be, and now that he picked up a couple of large-scale projects to work on, he realized he would need more tools and materials. He knew just where to look for them within the concrete jungle and finally he had to resign himself to returning. Gathering the materials was a simple enough task; he slipped into the big warehouse, dumped the collection of hammers, bolts, and other useful items into the small duffel bag he'd scavenged and was ready to be on his way.

Despite his eagerness to leave, in his typical curious fashion he wound up distractedly searching through a smaller building on the path home. Within a small wooden cabinet that had been broken open, he found a few over turned bottles, one of which contained a fair amount of rum. He pulled the bottle out, amber gaze studying it in silence. He could bring it home with him and enjoy it there, another reason for him to hurry out of this place. But here he would have the privacy of the skeleton city to drown his sorrows. Ehno stepped back outside, bottle in hand. The old duffel bag found its way to the ground, and the Marino leaned against the cool brick wall of the building. He hummed a somber melody he'd learned back in Italy, sipping from the bottle between verses. It warmed his body and numbed his mind. Just what he needed.

His trip to Halifax a few days ago had been very interesting to say the very least. There had been enough sexual tension between Teddy and Demi D'Angelo to power and entire city, but that was what the male was like with every female he met. It was just lucky that she had been along the same lines as him and had decided to tease him for it. He had only just gotten over that encounter when Demi had asked him to return to Halifax to check on the hospital, see whether anyone had broken in and find something for her. It was written down on a piece of paper for him, which was a God send because he had forgotten the name completely. He had gotten to the hospital just fine, avoiding any of the pack lands borders that might had gotten him into trouble. He was doing well here, almost settling down into every day life. Naniko was hard at work with her preparations but she had spoken to him last night and he could smell her scent lingering on his coat.

Thick legs carried him through the main street of Halifax. The pack that Demi had given him on their first visit here was high on his back, containing her cargo that he was entrusted with. He wasnt usually this easy to manipulate but Demi was Naniko's neice and she was pretty damn hot. That combination was working in her favour, since Teddy didnt mind travelling all the way out here to get what she needed. A thick scent rang in his nose and the male snapped his head around. A dark shape against the corner of a building made itself known and from the stench coming from the bottle in its hand, that was alcohol. He was well used to the substance by now, but the horrible headache and dehydration in the morning always made him swear he wouldnt touch the stuff again. Still, when in Halifax?

"You got anymore of that stuff?"

He called out before the animals scent truely caught up with him. When it did however, midnight fur bristled on his back, and the was sourly tempted to shift down to his secui form. But the pack was on his back and god forbid that he not deliver the goods to Princess Demi. So he stood instead, torn between wanting to square up to the male with the rum and just snatching the bottle and running away with it. But Teddy was no coward, so instead he strode up to the male, snatched the bottle from his grip and took a swig of the bottle. To hell with what might happen- he liked the stuff too much to be bothered.

The Marino savored the taste of the drink and the feeling of being alone in the vast expanse of the city. Usually he wasn't so fond of solitude, but the constant presence of his family and his pack mates back home was beginning to feel suffocating. What he needed was some alone time to sort through his thoughts, and though he had that here, he was content to simply let his mind go blank. There would be plenty of time for thinking on the way home. For now, all he needed to concern himself with was being able to enjoy his drink in silence.

Though it turned out he wouldn't be getting much of that silence. A voice called out from a short distance away, tearing his attention away from his mindless cloud-gazing. Amber eyes sought out the source of the call, finding a dark-furred figure watching him. The request made him hesitate and he eyed the bottle in his hand while he deliberated. He wasn't all that eager to share, but he'd be damned if he would deny a man a drink out of selfishness. But the other didn't seem patient enough to wait for an answer, waltzing up to him and snatching the bottle away without a word from either of them.

"Che cosa...?" he muttered in surprise, eyes narrowing into a glare and hackles rising. All the good will and friendliness that was typical of the Dreamer suddenly vanished, replaced with a slowly simmering anger. Who the hell did this guy think he was? "Don't think that's yours," Ehno hissed as he reached out to snatch the bottle back. Yet when he leaned forward and his hand wrapped around the glass, he stiffened as he recognized a particular scent on his dark-furred aggressor. This man may have been a stranger, but one of the scents on his pelt was not. The Italian man would be hard pressed to ever forget that scent.

"You know Naniko?" he asked, accented words laced with suspicion. There was no mistaking that this male had been near her recently. Did that mean she had returned from whatever little venture she'd disappeared on that was so damn important that she had to leave her children behind? And who the hell was this guy supposed to be? It took effort to keep back the growl that was building in his throat.

Hot liquid fire raced down his throat, settling in his stomach and setting that alight to. He loved that sensation, the burning glory that would soon be in his blood stream, would soon take over his brain and make him become more aggressive and testosterone-ruled than he already was. However, it was the introduction of the male that was making his blood boil. His hatred for all creatures with the same equipment as he stemmed from an unnatural hatred of his father. All males were treated the same, and all male figures bought on a slash of anger through the black male that only grew bigger. Perhaps it was for this reason that he intended to join a pack run by females- Naniko and Azalea. The other male muttered in a foreign tongue before Teddy say his hand close on the bottle he had in his hands.

"I suggest you remove your hand, now"

His voice was deadly quite, but the pronounciation and emphasis on each word made certainly clear that he meant what he said. He could have threatened to man, telling him to remove his hand before he removed it for him. But Teddy was one to allow others to use their imagination, to think of the consequences of what he implied before he allowed things to take hold. Already feeling to anger building, the alcohol mixing in his blood and fueling the fire even more. Blue eyes blazed into the other males and a soft, low growl slipped from his muzzle. Like his words, the growl was not showy or loud- a short and low warning for the other male to do as he was told, or to be put back into place. More words came from the male, and these appeared to be rather astonished.

Of course he knew Naniko, he was going to be in her pack. Still, Teddy fancied over exploiting their minimal relationship to someone who either knew her or knew of her. A cruel smile slipped over his muzzle as he thought of the ways in which he could twist the others words. He didnt take long for him to locate them in his mind. Using their joint handling of the bottle of rum to pull him forward and up into the mans face, Teddy whispered softly into his ear, the wicked smile remaining on his lips.

"Oh yes, I know Naniko. I know Naniko veeeerry well, if you know what I mean."

Cerulean eyes danced with mischeif as he pulled his face back and glanced down to check that the other male had removed his hand from the bottle. It would be a very wrong move if he hadn't, and as it so happened Teddy rather fancied taking out some of this frustration and anger building inside him. With another low growl, Teddy took a snap at the mans face, not believing he would catch any flesh but maybe catch a few of the males hair instead. Perhaps this would spark something more physical between the two of them.

No worries, mate, my own delay was much worse. ;~; Evil end of semester. wc:341

The Marino hadn't expected his reluctant trip to Halifax to turn out like this. Sure, he had no expectations of it being pleasant whatsoever, but he never would have imagined something like this developing. The Dreamer was a peaceful man for the most part, never one to voluntarily get himself involved in an ill-mannered confrontation. But with an already sour mood and the warmth of the alcohol to spur him on, he was quick to let his anger take the reins. Its not like this bastard couldn't do without some attitude thrown his way too.

The dark-hued stranger warned him to remove his hand from the bottle, but hell if he was going to relinquish his own liquid treasure to this obnoxious man. A short growl accompanied the warning and it simply provoked the growl Ehno had been holding back to come out. He wasn't going to let himself cower before his male. If he wanted to play, the Marino wouldn't hesitate to join the game. Wouldn't want to disappoint, now would he?

And if ever there was a need for a spark to ignite the Italian's building anger, it was offered not a moment later when the stranger pulled him forward and whispered mocking words that bragged of his intimacy with Naniko. The words caused Ehno's growl to deepen, the rumbling pitch soon accompanied by the revelation of his own glistening incisors. Some irrational, possessive part of him was furious at the man's taunt, no hesitation in considering the words true. The mere thought of this asshole with Naniko was enough to push him over the edge.

Ehno had but a moment to react to the flash of teeth, pulling back just enough to escape their clutches. That was it. This guy wanted the rum? Fine, he could have it, and it would come with a taste of Ehno's fangs, free of charge. The Dreamer was a gracious man like that. The Marino released his grip on the bottle and immediately made a lunge for the man's throat, a vicious snarl his war-cry.

He knew his words had hit their mark the moment they had left his mouth. The growl that had appeared to be building in the other mans throat came forth and Teddy gave a twisted smile at the sound. He knew that there wasnt a lot of fight in the dark male in front of him, but there just about enough for him to retaliate for the obvious bait Teddy had laid down. He didnt say anything however and Teddy was surprised the male had not tried to throw his assumption back in his face. It was what usually happened- you're lieing, you don't know her, you haven't touched her. But it was quite obvious that Teddy did know Naniko- the scent on his fur told the other male all he needed to know. There really was nothing to say at all.

Teddy's snap to the male's face had been unsuccessful, but the man had known it would be. No one in their right mind would leave their face out there with fangs coming towards them. However, it had the desired effect and the man let go of the bottle. Teddy spun and placed the bottle on the floor a few yards away, ready for an after fight celebration. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins thick and heavy and as he turned back to the male, blue eyes saw ivories make a beeline for his throat. It was a grave mistake, but Teddy was prepared to forgive, for he was also a generous man.

"Come now- surely you will not go for my throat whith your own head unprotected?"

For a moment he sounded just like his father before the mans teeth caught a bit of his skin. Teddy pulled away before he could get any hold on his throat, but the moving motion had torn a small knick in the mans skin. A snarl lifted his lips to expose his teeth, blue eyes on fire as he moved with the momentum of pulling his body back to avoid being choked to death. Hands came up in a clenched fist to hopefully connect with the mans jaw. He didnt stop to see if his punch had hit its mark. Teeth came forward to snap at the mans shoulder. Teddy didnt know if he managed to bite him, but he damn well hoped he had. If his punch had hit the man he would certainly have been off balance and maybe not able to move away from Teddy's aim at his shoulder. Whatever the outcome, Teddy hoped he had caused the drunken man some damage.

It was surprisingly easy for Ehno to let his anger take control and consume him. It was something that had been sitting buried within him for weeks now, just begging for the right opportunity to be released. It had been provoked that day the Cour des Miracles knight had payed him a visit and it pushed Ehno to lash out at him unsuccessfully. The misplaced hatred and anger had been left lying in wait after that for the perfect moment to strike out again. Ehno did not want to fight against it. He embraced it, reveling in just how good it made him feel. Yes, this was exactly what he wanted right now.

He hardly took notice of how the man was quick set the bottle aside, too focused on his target to care. But he did hear his taunt clear as day and it made him all the more determined to get him. As his teeth closed on a bit of the man's skin, Ehno felt a flash of short-lived triumph. And there it was, the briefest taste of blood as the stranger pulled himself away to further encourage his frenzied anger. The elation would not last long, however, as not a moment later the dark-furred man took a successful swing at Ehno's jaw. The Marino was sent reeling, clutching automatically at where he was struck.

The Dreamer shook off the surprise quickly, growling as he looked up to see his opponent strike out at him again with no hesitation. The swiftness of the attack left Ehno with little ability to dodge, lest he loose his balance completely and bring himself to the ground. Ehno may not have been much of a fighter, but even he knew that that would leave him wide open. So the man's fang's struck their target and the Marino managed to keep his balance. He hissed in pain and anger. Ehno wasn't willing to let him keep his hold on his scarred shoulder for long. His free hand lashed out to claw at his opponent's face, the other awkwardly aiming for his chest to further prompt distance between them.

ooc;; gah, honey fails!

Teddy could feel the all too familiar rage bubbling up inside him. He could feel the ghosts of his fathers strikes on his flanks as he moved in imaginary poses. Charles Stone would make his sons spar one another constantly checking and correcting and ultimately punishing when one did not step in the right place or move quick enough. He could hear the harsh bark of his fathers frustration and the butterfly soft sigh his mother would give as Theodore or Lochlan returned to the family den with a whelt across their face for getting something wrong. She would patch them up and kiss their cheeks in secret when their father was not around, but ultimately she would send her sons back out there to face their father, to grow a backbone. It had been hard in their first few months of life but in the end it was routine.

He brushed these ghost blows and harsh words away from him, telling himself that his father was long gone now and he was on his own now. With satisfaction his knuckles crunched into the mans jaw and he gave a smirk of triumph. He had always been best at bare knuckle fighting when he was younger until his father had introduced actual weapons to his boys. Still, it was natural to allow his body to move in these rhythms. Blue eyes flashed as the man stumbled backwards from the hit. However, his next attack hit successful and Teddy felt his teeth sink into the mans shoulder with satisfying ease. Like a knife through butter he sunk his fangs into the man and tugged to loosen to muscles and tendons to create more damage.

Teddy felt claws on his face and chest. Though irritating at the moment Teddy knew they would quickly become a problem. Using his strength the young warrior tugged hard on the mans shoulder before releasing it. The brown mans clawing at his chest had given him a small gash, and the claws at his face had just nicked below his eye. Nothing to worry about. He gave a grunt as he backed away, teeth flashing with the own mans blood on the ivory lengths. Blue eyes, though dead, were swirling with something far beyound drunken brawling. It had been far too long since anything like this had happened and he was really enjoying it.

"Come on old man, is this all you got? A scratch on my chest and a nick below my eye? Im willing to bet that you got some serious muscle damage in that shoulder of yours..."

Came his taunting growl and with one snarl he launched himself back at the man. Right hand went to grab the mans throat whilst left hand sought the wound he had already created, hoping to cripple the man to the floor with the damage to his shoulder.
