Papa's little girl

[html]

+3 OOC: she only jumped on him for a few seconds. She’s just anxious!!

Arnette was excited, papa was going to show her what he did when he left them for so long. Forte wanted to stay near mama, but that was fine with Arnette. Forte loved mama, but Arnette was different, she wanted to be where Papa was, she raced into her parents room and quickly jumped on top of her papa. Making a ruckus of the blankets.

Papa, papa!!! Get up get up!

She said excitedly, her family were the only ones that saw her get at all excited, for the most part she held in most of her emotions and asked very little from people even though she was a very inquisitive puppy. She learned what she wanted to know though. It was always something she enjoyed doing, but didn’t every pup love learning the ways of the world? And now she was going to learn what her papa did at day time when he would leave them with their mama. It was just so exciting; she couldn’t hold it in around her papa. What did he do, he mentioned working with horses, but she never saw any, only things she saw were her wolf mates and their cat. What interesting adventures would she be having with her papa today? Were these animals big? Were that mean, did they try to hurt anything? She’d never asked him these questions why did she have to, she could just learn them today, when he woke up, that was why she was jumping on him now. She’d just woke up and thought it was definitely a good time to get her papa up too. Why not, sleep had been overrated, and even though it was dark outside she would not be afraid especially if Papa were there. She stopped jumping for a second with a pouty face looking down at her father’s form wondering if he was pretending to be asleep… he had to be!

feel free to pp them walking to the stables!

His mornings were always early. The male couldn’t ever sleep past the breaking of dawn after waking at the same time each day for so long. But his body was not ready to wake just yet, for the sun had not peaked through the windows and the cold air kept him wishing for another moment longer beneath the warm blankets. But there was a rustling, a tapping on the wooden floors and then a weight on his body and a voice that was all too familiar. Amber eyes shot open, and he jerked awake and rolled over to see the gray and cream hued face that spoke to him at such an early hour.

Arnette. He whispered, his voice not stern or scolding for a small smile came to his maw. Is it that time already? he questioned. He looked at her lopsided ears, blue eyes sparkling even in the dim light. Okay, okay The coy wolf submitted and rolled out of the bed slowly with the hopes of not waking his mate and put the jean that he wore on a normal day and fastened them with the belt that kept them on his hips. Gathering his hat he stood straight and followed the little female out of the room with a finger held over his mouth to show that she should be quiet.

He had promised to take her along, her adventurous nature making leaving them each and everyday something that caught her curiosity. He had said no the first few times her little voice had asked, but he could not say no any longer. He had wanted to wait till she was a bit larger, for the walk to the stables would tire out a small pup in no time. But her energy was never ending it seemed. He hated to leave them anyways, and he was likely just as happy to have his daughter with him as she was to come along with him. Ready? He spoke as they neared the door.

+3 OOC: yaaaay <3

It had taken him FOREVER to get up but he was finally awake and his quiet voice reminded her she was suppose to be quiet, she hopped down as he dressed and waited by the front door for him, so they could leave together. Her tail wagging wildly as she waited. Her daddy had no idea she’d taken an adventure the day before far away, and she wasn’t too little for that, though she wasn’t so sure how far the stables were, but that was fine with her, she would be able to endure if she could when she found the town that she learned uncle Vigil lived in.

Mmmm Hmmm!

was the only answer that Arnette gave her father and once he opened the door she raced outside into the cold, cold air, but that didn’t matter to her, she was bouncing with excitement, it was so great, finally she gets to meet a horse! She raced around her papa once or twice before setting into a gait as they made their way to the stables.

There wasn’t much that she could say about her journey to the huge building…. Except…. It did take a long time. She had become a little tired after a while, but she was determined not to show it now, not now that her papa said it was ok to come with him. Her tail was still high and wagging as the moved into eyeshot of the large building… that could easily have fit some of those houses she had seen in the village. How was such a thing made? Why was it so big? Were the horses really big monsters? She looked up at her papa questioningly, but asked nothing, she stayed quiet… as inquisitive as she was, she got her answers without asking the questions most pups had for their parents or friends.

Big Grin!

Heath opened the door, bringing in the brisk air and stepped out into it after his daughter. She scampered ahead, and the coy-wolf watched as he walked down the steps and then came up to walk beside her fast moving paws. He took a slower stride, making sure not to walk too fast for the little girl.

It did not take them long, for the walk was not the longest but Heath could see that Arnette was becoming tired. Even if it was just a bit. They had a long day ahead of them, if she was to stay the whole day with him. Though he imagined her mother would venture down after a little bit and check up on them both.

But now he had many important beasts to introduce her to. The Marshal had kept the horses from the house, a small part of him fearful that there would be horrible accident. He knew that his roan mare would be gentle, for she knew that there was something new in his life and wasn’t content not know these knew lives in Heath’s life.

Its important to be calm and quiet here Arnette. He told her in a voice that had developed when she was a close-eyed pup. It was unnaturally sweet and clear and held more love then Heath could ever understand. They walked through the rows of stalls, heading towards the three that Heath called his own. A long whistle came and then the dark face of the roan mare peaked over the half door to greet them. Do you want me to pick you up so that you can meet Lumière?

OOC: I know she got Lum's gender wrong <3

Her father told her to be quiet and calm, that it was important, so Arnette did as he told her. She followed him, the stalls were so big, so… mysterious, what was behind them? She couldn’t see. She heard him whistle, something that interested her ears very much, and then something else moved… inside a stall a nose poked out… it was no wolf nose… and it was HUGE! Within moments came the rest of the animal, it was difficult to tell exactly what it was. This was a horse? it gave her as much f a surprise as she thought it would, and he asked her if she wanted to get closer, she nodded her tail wagging vigerously.

I wanna meet him papa, he’s so big!

She said, staring up at the animal… it was too cute to be scared of, boy was Forte missing something, and she’d let him know when she saw him again, tease him that he should have come with them, but then she wouldn’t get her time alone with her papa so she wasn’t too disappointed her brother didn’t come. She remembered she was suppose to be calm, so she let herself calm down let her tail wag less and waited for her papa to pick her up.

lolll

As he imagined her mother to have been at her age his daughter was quick to heed his seriousness, something he appreciated greatly and returned with a smile. Her reaction to the peaking of the dark faced mare’s nose made his smile broaden, and he couldn’t help but laugh silently at the fast paced wag of her tail. Her words made him even more amused, and he looked up at the mare who had her ears forward with interests as he bent down to scoop the little girl into his arms and lifted her gently into the air.

A step brought the two creatures closer to the horse, and Lumière lifted her nose slowly to take in the scent of the new babe. Arnette this is Lumière, she is my first and most trustworthy horse. He was not surprised when the mare was as soft and gentle as she could do as Heath took another step closer to bring the two together. The deep gray-blue mouth of the mare reached out to brush against the tans and grays of the pup, warm breath gusting from her nostrils.

OOC:<3 Big Grin

She couldn’t say why but she loved being picked up by her papa, maybe it was the security she felt when he held her close, or the warm love that he had for her and showed it as often as possible, but it made her feel good, and as he moved her closer to the horse, she knew that she would not be afraid of it, mostly because her papa was there. He introduced the horse, correcting her of its age, though she made little attempts to show she had been wrong, she sniffed the huge nose of the animal, it had it’s own distinct smell, once she liked very much.

Hello Lume!

She knew she couldn’t pronounce the horses name, so she would give her a nickname, her tail was now wagging as hard as she could, her little rump wiggling, she almost forgot she was in her fathers arms, and she couldn’t help but give the horse kisses, licking the mare’s nose in happiness. This was the best day ever!

He could help but feel an extreme happiness. It was like the days that Ruri came to see him while he worked in the stables. The melting of two worlds, each that he loved dearly, and when they came together he could hardly contain the happiness. His coyote tail wagged behind him as he watched the two females interact. The blue eyed girl spoke, calling the mare the same nickname that he had given her. Though it was just that she could not say the full French word, which Heath found adorable and amusing.

The small pup licked the mare’s nose, which Lumière did not shy away from. She opened her mouth slightly, lips reaching out to touch her black tipped nose. Heath laughed lightly, though his attention was taken by the much larger pale gray and silver face that had come to see them as well. Stark whinnied and moved his head up and down in protest and searching for attention. Heath had yet to see him in such a way, and with a single hand he touched the white nose to calm him.

Someone else wants to meet you too, Momma’s horse.

OOC: Know what would be cool, Lume's baby going to arnette... well unless you had other plans for the foal Big Grin anyways thoguht i'd throw that out ^^

Arnette giggled when the horse lipped for her nose, the hairs on her nose ticled hers, and she couldn’t help it, putting a paw on Lume’s nose Arnette pulled away, still in a fit of giggles, that was until this strange sound came from the next stall over and her heart flew to her throat, but soon she realized it was another horse.

Mama has a horse too?

She was never as careful about asking questions around her father, she always asked them when he was near but it was still a surprise, she didn’t know mama rode, they took walks around but never near the stables, and to ride a horse would have been something to see… She knew her mother’s handicap and it made Arnette wonder all the same how she could do it, but that was definitely a rude question and one she wouldn’t even ask out right even to her father. She liked the horse too, he was darker in color it was clear and she was slightly more apprehensive about this horse though her papa was touching him so it was ok right, she did want to meet this horse as well.

What’s the horse’s name Papa!

She asked, she didn’t want to get the gender wrong again, that was an embarrassing thing to her to get something wrong about the same creatures on the same day… it just wasn’t happening to her!

Can I have a horse too?

She asked suddenly, she knew she couldn’t ride one, but when she was older she could, and that meant she would be able to have her own horse when that happened. She’d be just like her papa and ride them all the time. That idea sounded very good to her, and even better she could spend time with him and learn everything he knew, because he was gone looking after them, and now that they liked her, she wanted to help him.

awesome idea!!

Heath back slightly to give the pup a little room as she laughed into the horses nose, his own smile matching that of his small daughter. Though, her question of Ruri’s horse made him take the lifted pup over to the pale stallion. His amber eyes had looked with a stern glance at the horse, which had begun to quell his excitement. "Momma has a special horse." Heath began, knowing that his mate’s blindness wasn’t completely understood by the pups. Though, they had explained it fully to their children. "He is so smart, he knows that he must follow Lumière and I wherever we go." The training of the stallion had been simple, for Heath felt the command to be an easy one. The pale horse had been following Lum around any ways.

"His name is Stark." The name had come from the silver and white that he was, void of color.

The stallion was slow in his movements now, knowing that this creature was just as fragile as her mother. Heath gave a smile, the pale white and pink nose reaching out to touch the little pup. He was gentle and moved with a tentativeness that Lumière had lacked.

"You would like one too?" He asked, his voice quiet and calm. He had thought of it, of course he had. He had visions of his pups in the stables beside him, his passion becoming theirs. He had thought again and again about it, the happiness as well as the worry that it would bring him.

Yes, he thought about it often and he had come to an idea that made his heart skip. Arnette had shown the most interest, while Forte had wished to stay home with his mother and Heath could not help that he wanted to spoil his baby girl to no end.

"Nette, you remember how you used to be in your mommy’s belly?" He asked as he carried her back to the dark faced mare that was his. He opened the stall door, and without any encouragement the mare walked out into the open. "Lum is going to have a baby soon too." The father wasn’t ideal when explaining the way of nature, maybe that was a mothers task.

Arnette could tell this horse acted different than the other, though she was still too young to know or care why, she was just happy to see him, because he was mama’s horse, and he seemed to like her a little bit. She licked his nose to when it came close, though he pulled back unlike her papa’s horse, but she wasn’t worried, she gave the horse a nice hello in her own opinion.

mmm hmm I want one too!

He moved her back to look at Lume, she was fine with it and she listened to her papa,

No, but mama has told us about it, she has a baby in her? Will it come out? When?

Her usual calm about getting answers was broken as she wanted to now ask her papa so many questions, but she thought three was enough, it was more than any other wolf besides her mama got.

What the future might bring Heath would never know. But he was confident enough to be able to give his daughter this promise, though only when she was old enough for such a responsibility. As they looked at the dark faced mare, ideas rolled through his mind and Heath placed the little pup on the ground as he spoke his answers to her questions. There is. Heath had found out about Lum's pregnancy and had been enraged. Rem was not the stallion he had wish to breed her with, but he had come to realize that fate was working it best at those moments.

Well, He began. It was hard to tell when exactly she would give birth, but it would not be many more months then it already had been. A horses gestation was much much longer then a wolf's, much longer. we will have to wait a little while longer, but I wonder if it will be a boy or a girl. He spoke, looking at the wide eyed little girl with a smile.

She wagged her tail as she was set down and let her little legs run around her father in happiness. There was a horse inside this one, and it would come out, and Arnette could play with the horse! it made her so very excited. Though she ran out of her excess energy and stopped sitting as her father wondered out loud… a boy or a girl? Hmmm she wondered…

I bet it will be a girl!

She said happily, she wanted there to be more girls than boys, just because she thought it was suppose to be that way, though it seemed that the whole family was matched, even with the horses that her parents owned.

I can’t wait to see, I know it’ll be a girl I doooo

She giggled at her confident guess, though she didn’t know how disappointed she would be if it turned out to be a male. She would be sad indeed.

Heath wasn't sure what the sex of the horse inside Lumiere would be. He knew that there was no true way of knowing until it was born. He had wished for a male, another stallion for him to train. But a mare might be best, just as his daughter hoped. Another horse as as his mother would be wonderful. Heath looked at the face of his trusted companion and hoped he would never be without such a light in his life. Amber eyes watched as she ran and ran until her littler body huffed and puffed with a lost breath.

A girl yes! We can only hope for another little girl. He said, leaning down to smile at his pup. Come on, lets see how fast Lum can run. Heath scooped her up once again, and then gave the mare a pat on her back end and followed the trotting horse out to the pasture where he let her run every day. Dark eyes looked back at the pair, and knowing that there was an audience and put on a show for the puppy. Her hooves rose and fell with height and when they got to the open gate she took to the field with her tail high as a flag and with speed that was pulled from her very center.

She grinned when he said he would hope so too. She still didn’t know about something so temporary so she was set for the horse being a female, her tail wagged even more as he mentioned watching Lume run around, and she was about to race outside when he picked her up. She put on her poutiest face, she wanted to walk… maybe even race the horse. she didn’t know the danger she would per herself in she just wanted to run with the horse.

Awww I wanna walk!

She said a little rejected watching the horse move out into the pasture, her gait was so strange yet… so pretty! She didn’t know the words to describe such a sight as she was seeing right now. She forgot entirely about running around as she saw the horse with her tail lifted in such a funny way, but what got her was how fast the horse could run! It was so amazing.

Woooow!

Arnette breathed leaning out to get a better look as the horse raced away, then she looked up at her papa.

She’s fast! Are all the horses that fast?

She asked him still astounded by the sight, again watching the mare as she was in her element. Maybe Arnette could run like that horse one day, but her own oversized feet and undersized legs would not allow it, soon though, she thought. She’d try to run as fast as the horses.
