[bic] ...you hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall.

She was in high spirits today. For now, things seemed to be going really well--Conri wasn't have quite as many nightmares, which meant that the both of them got a lot more sleep now than they had when he had first returned. Naniko had been injured while trying to help a hurt badger in the neutral territories with Kansas, but the gash had finally stopped aching and had started to heal. Now that the ache was away, she felt like doing something fun.

The white wolf sat down to think for a moment. She was feeling pretty hungry, and their food cache was kind of low. Why not hunt? Right now she knew that there were caribou passing through the area just south of the lake...maybe she could use the mists to her advantage. A glance skywards put the time at mid-afternoon. There was still time left for a really long hunt, even. She certainly couldn't bring down an entire caribou alone. Naniko lifted her head, sending a long call to her packmates. Food.

In all my time at 'Souls, I've never been in a pack hunt... I don't know much about wolves and hunting, so... but HAI. I'm here! [WC: 503]

___Anya hadn't eaten in a while. It was just sort of... something she didn't do much of. A rabbit here or there, not much else. She'd never really been in a pack long enough to learn to hunt in a group; in her last pack, before she came back here, she'd helped once or twice. She wasn't really social enough to be very enthused, though. Maybe it was that she didn't trust others; how did she know they would share the kill? Or that they'd be reliable to get it at all? Best not to get her hopes up, she figured. Hopes were useless. She knew she could kill a rabbit. She knew she could skin that rabbit, and eat it. And she knew she wouldn't have to worry about sharing, or about losing her kill because of someone else's incompetence.

___Security in self-sufficiency.

___The sound of a voice roused her from her half-sleep on the floor of her den. "The hell..? Mmnphh.." Food? Sounded good. She dragged herself up off the floor slowly, considering many things in the process. Should she go? She lifted her head and opened her eyes, which blurred slightly, then focused. Hell, why not go? It couldn't be that bad. Her body began to straighten at the spine, yawning softly. Should she talk to anyone? Standing, she stretched her back and neck, then arms and legs. She would have to talk; she had to communicate to cooperate properly. Female stripped her clothing off, shoving it into her bag. Socialisation. Ew.

___Should she tell them who she was? She glanced at her shoulder, which was healed now, but scarred from the wound. They probably already knew, because Ahren lived here. She began to shift into her Lupus form. Would Ahren be there? Her bones and muscles rearranged, and she couldn't tell if the stomach twist was from thinking of Ahren, or from the shift. She honestly wasn't sure if he would be there. He was too selfish to want to help others or share a kill, and too cocky to cooperate or allow another to be above himself, or so she had heard, and also perceived. But was he the same as she'd heard, or even as she'd known? Or had their first meeting since she'd returned simply... been coloured by the past?

___Of that, she could not be sure.

___Her shift complete, she yawned once more, then set off towards the place where the call originated. She supposed she would just go where ever she was directed. Trotting toward a seated female, Anya realised that she was the first one here. For how long it had taken her to rouse from her sleep and get to this place, it seemed strange that she was the only one here. Was this a trick? "Quit being paranoid," she thought to herself silently, then seated herself nearby the girl... not too nearby, of course. "Hi." Soft... cautious. But an attempt. She was trying to get along. That counted for something...

___Right?
