Throw me a bone

Overo's time in Cour des Miracles was quiet and easy. Aside from now having to abide by pack laws and formalities, his life had become significantly less treacherous. He no longer had to fend for his life, ensure his own survival at every moment. He didn't have to always be looking over his shoulder. Overo could finally relax. However, ironically, he was more restless than ever. Thrilled as he was to finally be with his sister again, Overo didn't know what to do with himself.

Irritably, he pushed himself up from the cold ground and shook the dirt from his fur. What he needed was a job, he thought to himself. Some kind of purpose to fulfill in this pack, somewhere he could make his skills useful. How ridiculous he felt, not being able to occupy himself without fighting for his life. Overo found himself almost longing to be back in the wilderness on his own, but caught himself. He had made a promise to Ever and wasn't about to break it now.

Gotta do something. Overo set off at a trot, covering the ground with long strides, towards the more communal area of the pack territory. He had decided it would be beneficial to him(and hopefully the pack), perhaps, to find a higher ranking canine who could help him to find a place for his skills. It was probably time anyway to start being social.

Hello!

Anymore the amber hued fem had to force herself from the warmth of her cabin and Anatoliy's company. Though they both were early to rise Anann found herself lingering longer in bed in the hopes of stealing a few more moments snuggled against his side. A year ago, Anann never would have imagined that she might found herself such a life. At that time had hoped to just live out her life in obscurity. Instead she had found a home, a place she could rise her sword for. She had found not only a pack, but also a family in those that had worked their way close to her heart. Causing to wonder if this might be just were she was meant to be all along.

The winter air was cool and crisp, but the she-wolf was built for such weather. The cooler temperatures of winter were easier to bear than the heat of the summer. The weather had not proved harsh enough yet to send her Crimson Dreams to retreive the cloak that Jazper had surely finished. A fact she was reminded of as a gust of arctic wind threatened to cut through her thick pelt as walked, heading home from the stables. Rem now content in his stall with his ration of hay and oats.

The walk would not be along one, but she took roundabout route home. Despite all the good things that seemed to surround her, Anann had been unable to shake the feeling that something was amiss. She could not put her finger on it, but everything just too good, too easy, to be true. Rem too had seemed to be on edge in recent weeks. She needed just a little extra time on her way home to clear such thoughts for her head. She did not need to burden Anatoliy with such things.

// Hello indeed! Big Grin

Overo padded quietly on a thin, dry trail. Strong legs carried him effortlessly over the path, his body appreciating the early morning exercise. The freezing wind caused Overo no trouble, his husky fur blocking it from his warm skin. Overo had discovered during the last winter just how durable his fur really was, having been in harsh battle training at the time. Cold did not vex him anymore.

Footsteps. Overo could hear them from the other side of a thick patch of trees. His ears pricked sharply forward as his muscles braced instinctively. With a slow exhale, he relaxed and walked the last few steps to get past the thicket where another barely visible trail converged with the one he was already on.

"Hello." He said to the strange female wolf before him. She smelled earthy, like grain and horses. Surprisingly to Overo, it was a rather comfortable and soothing scent. He had seen wolves take the form this she-wolf had taken before, even fought them, but his ignorance of the condition only made him wary. She was a pack member, though, so in theory there was no reason for him to be on edge. He held his head and tail low, almost feeling small as he looked at her.

Rejecting the idea of an inferiority complex, his expression relaxed and he introduced himself. "I am Overo. May I ask your name?"

sorry to keep you waiting

Anann too had heard the footsteps of the other, though they did not cause her to faulter or pause. As they neared, and before the other had yet come into the sight, the scent alone told Anann it was a pack member she had yet to meet. It had once been a goal to all of those that called the court home, but in recent months so many had come and gone with so much as a word that it seemed most fruitless to make such an effort and so instead she had turned to her focus to strengthening the bonds that already exsisted and letting the new ones happen where they willed.

While the footfalls had already given away the others current four legged form, it was still a bit of a surprise to see another in lupus. It seemed much of the pack prefered the two legged verson of life. Not to be rude, Anann crouched down to bring herself more to his level rather than continue to tower over him. True she could have shifted down to one of her own four legged forms, but to do so in front of a stranger, pack mate or not, seemed a little..revealing. "Hello Overo. Certianly, I'm Anann. Nice to meet you." She said with a friendly smile. He was obviously one of these newer members and she couldn't help but wonder if he would end up sticking around or if he too disappear at some point not far down the line. "How are you liking it here in the court?" She asked in an attempt to stir up some conversation rather than just letting them both continue on their way.

She did not hide the fact that she looked the other over. From his build and tone of his muscle, to the way that he carried himself, it was obvious that he was warrior, much like herself. Though Anann considered herself more to be retired, even if she did keep up on her training regiment.
