Hooray, a little new year's feast for Crimson Dreams. Feel free to have your char bring something to eat as well, if you like. ;D wc: 403

Crimson Dreams was like one giant family, but it was a shame that its members seldom found the time to all gather together. Everyone had much of their own business to attend to, and they had their fair share of wanderers amongst their ranks, Ehno included. Considering the vast nature of everyone's interests and the spacious territory they laid claim to, it wasn't much of a surprise that it was a rare thing for them to all come together for a little bonding. So when the Marino man got an idea on bring everyone together, he was quick to set to work on implementing it.

It was a simple enough idea, a feast for the Dreamers to celebrate the smooth passing of another winter season. But rather than the usual prey they hunted for on land, Ehno set about gathering a meal from the bountiful sea. Fish was something he missed from the time he spent on various European port-towns as a youth. Despite their proximity to the sea, fish was a rare meal out here, simply because hunting on land proved to be much less labor intensive. So the Marino thought the seafood could prove to be a special treat for their little feast. It took some preparing, and more than enough work, but with the help of his niece, Ehno had managed to catch himself a decent supply of the water-based prey. Abundant water supplies and the winter's cold temperatures helped him keep his catch fresh until today.

He spent part of the late afternoon clearing out some space within the main living room of the manor. It offered the most space inside for their numbers to gather and plenty of room for their youngest members to get about. He'd spread out a tablecloth across the cleared floor and placed many of the fish upon it as a sort of make-shift indoor picnic. Nearby, the fireplace contained a bright warm fire, which he put to additional use cooking a few of the fish. These fish sat upon sticks of various sizes and leaned in toward the fire. He checked on them, and satisfied with their progress, turned back to sit alongside the spread out tablecloth. He tilted his head back and let forth a low, brief call to his pack mates, inviting them to come join his little feast and to add to their collection, should they have been hunting recently themselves.

=D Rabbits for all!
Wc: 600 SoSuWriMo

For the most part, days and nights blended into one, with the only distinction being the light - or lack thereof - that streamed in through the window of the room Ghita, Jaz, and their children shared. And as a result, it seemed, the weeks also paraded by with little to distinguish them. The routine didn't change all too much, seeing as the days' chores were all too similar to allow for anything to look forward to. Feed the pups, take them on a walk, feed them again, put them down for a nap, try to get a few moments of slumber for yourself, hunt for food to feed the pups... That was Ghita's life ever since Tony, Lorenzo, and Fia had entered into her life. The one distinct thing that marked the time's passing was the opportunity to fill in for Jazper with border patrols, giving the fae a chance to see the territory she used to roam freely, without anything to tie her down. But aside from that, there was nothing to look forward to until the pups were old enough to support themselves.

Until now. Word had spread that Ehno was organizing a feast for the New Year - something that she hadn't noticed passing until pointed out to her. But the prospect of something to celebrate excited Ghita, stirring the blood that had laid stagnant for the longest time. Pulling herself away from the puppies and Jazper for an hour or two before the feast, Ghita employed her hunting skills across the territory, making good on her goal to bring at least three rabbits to the feast. If she'd had more time and notice, the fae would've liked to organize a small hunting party to down a deer or two - an elk would be ambitious but splendid, but perhaps for another feast. For now, Ghita's slender Optime frame sported her sarong that she could commonly be seen in, the colours of the sea familiar to most. She had returned from the hunt only a few minutes before, and could smell something delicious cooking in the room only a few feet away, and so shifted quickly, her body elongating from the Secui form she'd hunted in, and emerged human-like with the rabbits lying, somewhat frozen, at her paws.

Unwinding her sarong from around her neck, a position that had been planned out previously by the fae, her deft fingers only took a moment to undo the knot and create another one, the fabric rippling around Ghita and shielded her body from prying eyes. When she'd first learned to shift, she hadn't seen the need for clothes around the pack, as her Lupus form held most of the same parts with none of the same clothes, but she'd quickly learned that there were some parts to show at certain points, although the general gist wasn't enforced strongly. All the same, her ivory fingers scooped up the lagomorphs that lay at her feet, and her body straightened up, the girl testing out her bad knee tentatively. Deciding that it was in a state good enough to walk, she steered her body towards the scent of her brother, letting the call wash over her cranium before entering. A grin stretching from cheek to cheek, she rapped lightly on the wall next to the door frame, her body leaning against it casually, as if she'd just happened to hear of the feast and hadn't been planning on this for days. "Quite a layout you have here, Ehno. Need some rabbits?" She teased lightly, waving the creatures at about waist height.

A delicious yet strange and unfamiliar scent tickled the Knight boy’s nose. He suddenly lifted his head from his paws, his dark nose lifted in the air as he tried to capture more of the scent. It was not one that he could immediately describe. Curious, the pup rose from his place on his parents’ bed, stretching his large body as he did so. His oversized paws hit the floor with their characteristic thud before he trotted with energy out of the room. As he exited his parents’ bedroom and made his way down the hall, the scent became stronger. Excitement consuming him, the boy unleashed all of his pent up energy and approached the mysterious scent at a flat out run.

Lorenzo’s bi-colored eyes were alight with excitement at the prospect of discovering the source of the scent. Although he could not yet identify it, instinctually he knew it to be food. His pace increased as his stomach rumbled. The son of Ghita and Jazper certainly never wanted for food; his parents were good providers and his pack members always made sure that he and his siblings were taken care of. Even so, a pup that large always seemed to be hungry. His body might be growing by millimeters a day, but Lorenzo could eat as though he should be growing a foot a day.

The pup skidded to a halt when he entered the living room, that delicious aroma invading his senses. His searching eyes found a delectable spread upon a linen cloth. When he lifted his face to find others, he immediately found his Zio Ehno. His tail wagging so hard his entire body was shaking with his excitement, he launched himself at his uncle’s legs, prancing around them excitedly. ”Wha’s those? They food? ZIO! You hunt new naminals? Where from? How!” He could hardly get a good breath out as he launched into a barrage of questions for his uncle.

Another figure appeared, one that he could identify with his eyes closed, he felt. ”MAMA!” Enzo proclaimed with heightening excitement. His siblings were not in sight quite yet, so he took the opportunity to spend a quality moment with his mother. He loved his siblings, but like any child, he loved to have a moment alone with either of his parents. His Zio Ehno momentarily forgotten, the pup wiggled his way over to his mother. ”We eat too?” the boy asked anxiously. He knew better than to take anyone else’s food without being asked, and he was learning to share.

Suddenly, his jittery excitement halted. His grinned brightly up at his mother. ”I’s bring some stuffs too!” he proclaimed before he darted up the stairs. He went to his secret hiding place under the stars before rocketing full force back toward his mother and uncle. Beaming with pride, he set down three cricket carcasses on the floor. Backing away so they could see his offering, Lorenzo told them, ”I’s got the jumpers. I’s share them!” He used his nose to push one closer to Ghita, first making his offering to his mother because he absolutely adored her.

Cometh the Big Brother

He was a little elusive as of lately, keeping to himself and his thoughts of Clover and Nayru, however, Clover came more prominently to his mind. Perhaps it was the fun they had? He didn't know to tell the truth. Either way, the moment he heard the commotion downstairs, the black youth sat up in his bed. He hadn't messed with his hair in awhile, and in actuality he was trying to grow it out some, making his head look like a shaggy mess right now. He knew what he was doing though, and when it got to where he wanted it, he would then style it as he wanted. He hadn't had much interaction with his little brothers, or sister for that matter, but he knew they would most likely come to the call as well, or so he hoped. He wondered if they knew who he was? Almost out of habit he went to grab his sword, then decided not to and put it under his bed as if that would hide it amply. Coming to his door he opened it, and walked out making sure to shut it behind him. He didn't want the scampers to mess with his room.

He arrived into the living room a little later than his mother and brother, but before he could greet his uncle and brother his ears focused upon his little brother just as his eyes did. He blinked a little then let out a booming laugh after he caught on to what the little knight was talking about. "Little man, I don't think we would eat crickets..er, grasshopers.." Then walked past Lorenzo and looked to his uncle, "It's been awhile! How are you dear uncle?" He asked with a welcoming and warm smile before his eyes looked at the fish feast that his uncle was preparing. "I apologize I didn't have much to offer..I must admit my laziness over the past week." He felt slight shame, but it was a fleeting feeling to him.
