Anyone! A leader or someone high-ranked would of course be convenient, but I'm not picky Big Grin

Business with Inferni had proved fruitful. His satchels were somewhat less weighty, and he had gained an interesting connection, and new knowledge that was surely invaluable. Marking Nayati's fur for the Master rank had not been a problem; keeping such lush, white fur clean was much worse, truly. But Liliana's had proved a real challenge, and Dawali was glad, now, that he knew more of dyes and the art of dying, both fur and skins. He already knew how to dye something red, but that was all, too. And some new recipes for potent dyes, as well! It was magnificent, and he felt himself itch to get home already. However, there were still many faces to meet, and they were closing in on the new pack now, it seemed. The unfamiliar, but unmistakable scent of claimed land settled with ease in his nostrils, and he signaled the mare to halt and continue in another direction. He was close to their borders, and continued alongside them for a little while, trying to get some kind of a glimpse of their territory. They were new, true, but he did not fear them, nor did he feel the need to be as cautious as he had been with Inferni. As far as he knew, both Attila and Tayui resided here, and this was the sole reason why Dawali did not hesitate. Still, he was not so bold as to simply step across the border; no, he would retreat a little distance from where he now knew the border to go, and wait there, patiently. This place was not the place to call for attention, for it might very well not be Attila or Tayui who greeted him.

As he unpacked a rug to sit on and fastened Belle to a nearby tree, giving her something to snack on while they waited, Dawali could not stop himself from wondering which faces had taken to live here. The area certainly smelled particular, with a mind to the fauna itself. It was heavily mountainous, and not something he was used to at all. Luckily, his mount did not seem to mind it, and the areas where the border ran seemed pleasant enough. He was not blind, though; he could see the mountain ahead and inward to the heart of their territories. Who would live there? He had always been taught not to trust a mountain with your family. They were powerful, but treacherous, and they could fall and crush you whenever they saw fit. They were great powers of nature, mountains, and the bigger they were, the more uneasy the Chief felt in their shadow. Fingers moved diligently at the rug he had brought along to finish weaving on his travels, though his mind was elsewhere. Every so often, he would glance upwards, feeling the stare of the mountain as if it threatened him directly, and shudder ever so slightly.

She could only vaguely recall what the mountain had looked like in the summer, whether it'd been snow-covered or not. Right now that was the main component that she could see; snow, snow, and more snow. Climbing the other side of it to return to 'Souls territory had been pretty rough, but there were areas on this side of it that didn't seem as bad. Naniko had explored as much of the mountain top as she could with the snowy barriers and had managed to reach the other side of it a few days prior. The pack was growing, and she had needed to scout beyond their borders to decide what land she wanted to claim. Naniko wasn't a greedy wolf and wouldn't claim more than what she felt they could maintain. She'd have to put the Zepars to use.

Today she was looking at the territory on the other side of the mountain, toward the other packs. She wasn't very knowledgeable about what other packs were out there yet, not having left the territory for any more than 24 hours at a time, but recognized the peculiar scent of AniWaya as she traveled through the border. She had passed through lands surrounding that territory in the past and recognized this as the same scent that had covered Tayui and Attila when they had first come to Anathema.

She approached quietly, peering through the trees. Whoever had come hadn't crossed into the border, a sign of respect, and she appreciated that greatly. She spent a lot of time marking the borders and keeping them up, for one thing, and there was the pack's safety to think about, for another. She had enough trouble keeping her son Scorpius within the pack lands already without having to worry about foreign wolves coming in. She'd come across her Dasa Theodore fighting against a trespassing stranger just a week or so before.

Dawali was sitting on a rug with a horse tied to a nearby tree. Naniko cleared her throat to announce her presence as she neared, aware that her white pelt often made her blend into her surroundings. She didn't want to scare him off. She recognized him from the past but the amount of drugs that she had been taking and had taken just hours before blurred her memory. She recalled his name and connected Aniwaya with him, so she would treat Dawali civilly and with respect. "Hello there" She greeted him. Naniko was shifted into her tall optime form today, hair kept back in a long silver braid as usual. The only thing that she wore was a thin weapons belt, upon which three daggers were strapped. "What are you doing out here, Dawali?"
