for Jazper

It had been a surprise when Anann had found the largest of Anu's sons at their borders a few days ago. Well, at least Anann assumed that Alder was still the largest of his brothers as he had been when they were still small pups. It had been good to see the boy again. Rem had been excited to see him again as well, perhaps more so. It was surprising just how much the boy had grown in what seemed to Anann as such a short time. Surely he already far surpassed his tawny mother in size. His visit had brought all her friends in the neighboring pack to mind. It had been so long she had paid a visit.

Perhaps such a visit was just what Anann needed. She had been sulking a bit since Heath had left with his family. The black armed man had been her closest friend. He knew things about her that even Anatoliy did not and his absence had been heavy on her heart. So maybe she just needed to strengthen some of the other bonds she had made to help mend her wounded heart. She was long over to due to pay a visit to Crimson Dreams after all. By the time she had finished the morning chores at the stables she had decided that trip to the neighboring pack was exactly what she wanted to do with her day.

"Let's go." She said as she slid open the black stallion's stall door. A leather pack slung over her back she walked out of the stables, the horse following just steps behind. Closing up the barn, she mounted the bare backed horse and with a click of her tongue sent them headed out across the snow covered hills that divided the two packs. Not even pausing at the scent marked borders, Anann rode on until the large manor that the majority of the pack called home. Sliding gracefully from his back, Anann gave out a short, low howl to announce her presence. She called for no one in particular, unsure of just who might be home.

Taking the pack off her shoulders Anann pulled out Rem's large leather blanket. The ride had made him warm and she did not need him catching a chill in the winter air while he waited on her. Despite his winter coat the stallion just was as adapt for the cold winter's as Anann was in her own thick pelt, especially after a long ride over the rolling country side.

Sorry for the lateness!

Today was a good day. Although Jazper had come to terms with his emotional ups and downs he found it difficult to keep his spiraling emotions under control. But today was a good day. He had woken up with his mate in his arms and his pups sound asleep in their basket. It was hard to believe how quickly they were growing up. The three always seemed to be fighting, challenging each other in size or brains. Although Tony and Lorenzo were matched in size little Fia, his beautiful little Fia, seemed to want to fight just as much as the boys. It would be good for her, the father had decided, to grow up with the boys. She was turning into a tough little one and she would have no trouble dealing with any guy who dared hurt his baby girl in the future.

The boys on the other hand were much like Aro and their father. The two were about as big as his eldest had been at their young age. Tony was a little on the bossy side but he knew how to lead a group and how to get things done. While Lorenzo was graced with the ability to understand others. Jazper's timber coated son was always trying to lighten the mood and seemed to be able to deal with his brothers obsession over leadership while making sure Fia didn't wander off, like she tended to. After all this time there was only one thing he knew for sure: Ghita and him were very lucky when it came to their children.

Walking along the boarders his mind continued thinking about his pups. Aro had been home for awhile but he had waited for his son to settle in and just continued on his regular habits, chatting lightly whenever he was approached. Eventually he would talk to his son about what he had learned on his travels but that would have to wait for another day. Nearing the manor in his circle a scent alerted him to the visitor. With a large grin he hurried, running on all fours in his halfling form. He was glade to be able to run again. The slash running from his right shoulder down to his left hip was more hidden in this form but not for the trained warrior eye. The bandages were no longer needed as the slashes had been covered by a thin layer of scabbing.

Slowing as the golden lady came into his view Jazper walked up with a large grin, “Hey there stranger.” Sitting down a few meters from her and the horse he looked to the horse with a shy smile. The last time he had seen Anann she had attempted to teach him to ride a horse, a feat that had ended with him falling...continuously. He hadn't been too fond of the hoofed creatures before his lesson but now he simply didn't understand how wolves could keep prey around. “So,” the Knight started as he turned his attention back to Anann, “What brings you to Crimson Dreams?” It was too often that he had caught whiff of her scent around here.

changing the date to sometime late Feb? Specifics don't matter for me on dates but I figure somewhere between the end of the storm and before Anann's (ex)fiancee shows up in CdM would be best Smile

Anann was still working buckling the straps of the blanket. An amber ear turned when she heard someone approaching from the very direction whence she had come. Proving her howl to have been rather unnecessary it would seem. As fingers worked the last strap through its buckle she turned her head to see who it was. Instantly she recognized the large, dark figure. The tattoo around his eye making him unmistakable. "Jazper! It's good to see you again." Her own grin broad and bright as he greeted them.

"Oh, I've been overdue for a visit." She explained, now finished with fastening the blanket she gave Rem a pat to pet him know she was done and that he was free to graze or whatever it was he did as he waited on her to be ready to head back home to Cour des Miracles. "Did you all weather the storm alright?" Now facing him, the question was asked before her trained eye took note of the new scars running over his shoulder and chest. Her expression grew serious, if not a little grim. She could recognize the trail of claws. Though from what exactly she couldn't say. "You shoulder. What happened?" She tried not to jump to conclusions but she couldn't help but feel concern, as well as defensive, at the thought that her friend, if not his pack, had been under attack. Were they having problems with one of the other packs?

He hardly knew Anann but what he did know was that she would make him a trustworthy alliance. She was a large female and seemed to be much like Jazper in personality. Both held the same values close to their heart. It made the dark Knight wonder what her home life was like. They hadn't talked much about her life, just his as Jazper was usually guilty of speaking out too much. Golden eyes watched the golden lady content to just wait for the horse to leave as they were not fans of each other.

As Anann spoke the warrior took the moment to shift up onto two legs, preferring it be at the same level for talking. His rear legs extended considerably and his front paws grew into large hands. The hair running from the top of his head down to the scruff of his neck sprouted out into a nicely formed mohawk. Stretching up into the air he felt his muscles shift to different parts of his body. Matching Anann's grin he echoed her statement, “Great to see you too.”

As he opened his mouth to answer about the storm a second question interrupted his thought. A sheepish smile replaced the ecstatic grin as he glanced down at his own chest. It had happened a few months ago now, before the storm and before Denali had gone missing. “A little misunderstanding with a bear.” He stated simply before giving a shrug. “Savina was attacking a bear on our land and Ghita and our young pups were right there and I just jumped to action.” The last time they had met was in the summer time, before Ghita had been expecting. “I managed to draw blood from her neck but she slashed me open and I hit a tree. I passed out but it turned out that the bear was a friend of a pack mates . We're both fine now.” It was a strange story. A bear wasn't supposed to be friends with a wolf, let alone a young adult boy.

Changing the subject back to her original question he quickly added, “Everyone survived the storm fine. However we lost a boy named Denali.” He wasn't sure if he was suppose to share this information but he trusted the golden lady, “Savina adopted him but he went missing and it turns out that this female named Nuki murdered him.” It was a touchy subject in the pack right now and no one dared mention either name near Savina. “She managed to escape us after getting into a fight with Savina. We haven't been able to track her down.” He was serious as he spoke but he hoped that she would keep a look out.

Concern etched deeper into Anann's features as Jazper begun to explain his fairly fresh scars and the bear that had caused them. A bear was not something to trifle with. A lesson she had learned at a young age and had left her with a great respect for the creatures and their strength. Though as the tale unravelled her expression changed from concern to confusion and eventually something between amazement and amusement. It seemed to have been quite the misunderstanding, indeed. At least, as Jazper had said, everyone was alright now. Anann only had the opportunity to respond with an amused shake of her head and a light chuckle before Jazper continued on to answer her prior question.

She was glad to hear that they had weathered the storm, though the relief she felt at such news was short lived and her look became solemn once again. "That's terrible, I'm sorry to hear of your loss." And to think that the perpetrator was still out there. "This Nuki, can you tell me anymore about her? If I hear or see anything of her I'll let you know." To think that such a person had been so close to her own home riled the woman's defensive nature. She could only imagine what it must have been like for the Dreamers to discover such a traitor in their midst.

Big Grin

WC:300

The winter had certainly brought a wave of new experiences to Crimsons Dreams, death being a major one. Before Denali it was very possible that most of the younger members of the pack had never experienced death the way the others had. Everything changed once you learned this hard lesson. The way you think, act, and live life morphed depending on how you perceived the whole concept. If it weren’t for his own parents passing Jazper would never have ended up in Jaded Shadows, let alone Crimson Dreams. His entire life would have been very different and he wouldn’t be the individual he was today.

He would always have these scars on his chest to remind him of his stupid but loyal action. “I think it makes me look good.” He joked to add tot eh amused look on the golden ladies face. The scars were very noticeable and would be forever but he had recently acquired a nice blue collared shirt that he had adjusted to fit his size. Obviously he wasn’t wearing it now but on his regular days walking on two legs he wore the shirt and his shorts to keep him covered up, preferring to be modest in his body.

The grim subject continued on and he quickly added in some details “She’s of average height, brown toned, red eyes, and a rather large Mohawk. Not exactly the hardest to point out in a crowed.” The appearance matched the girl’s personality. It wasn’t particularly hard to miss a killer once they were identified. He only hoped his words would make it to Anann’s pack members. “So how are you and your pack? Any good news?” The warrior didn’t want to dwell on the pain of his own pack ,after all this was a reunion of two friends after a long and hard winter.

Anann gave a soft chuckle to his comment about his scars effect on his appearance. ”Well, they can only add to that tough guy look you got going,” she said, adding to his jest. In a more serious tone she added, “looks like it’s healed well.” Not that she would expect anything less from their healers, for Anann knew Cambria to be a capable healer.

Jazper gave her a decent description of the woman. Which Anann locked away in her memory, nodding grimly. ”I’ll will spread the word around my pack, if we hear or see anything, I will make sure Crimson Dreams learns of it.” It was the least they could. Anann wished there was more that she could do. She had only lived in the region a year and while she knew her homelands well she knew she did not know the rest of the terrain well enough to go on a man hunt. Something the Dreamer’s had surely already attempted, anyway. Still, she would keep a sharp eye out.

As natural in a two sided conversation the focus eventually shifted as Jazper asked how she, and her pack, were fairing. ”I’ve been well, as well as the pack.” It was a simple answer, and as far as her own concern Anann would likely not elaborate any further, a broad smile on her lips. Anann had found a contentment in life she was not sure she would ever find after leaving the home of her birth. Life was certainly different, though she had decided only for the better.

Of the pack, though, she would speak in greater detail. ”We weathered out the storm in the hotel, the old building hardly took any damage at all. I don’t think anyone lost their home, though a few had to be dug out.” Anann had tore down the roof to own home rather than leaving it to collapse under the weight of the snow. Soon she would dig away the rest of the slowly melting snow and re-thatch her roof. ”There has also been a flood of pups, as well. You’ve heard of Haven’s litter, surely?” She was not sure how well Jazper himself knew the orange knight, but he had once been a Dreamer. The last time they had spoke, Crimson Dreams had been full of litters and Cour des Miracles had had few, if any than Anann had known about. Now there was three, or was it four?
