around conor's house, i think :3 wc: 414

Element had been resting in Dahlia de Mai for a while now - and he was glad of it. He felt better every day, though he did not dare to test his leg on which he rested. Instead, he spent the days by talking to Conor and the other Dahlians, each of whom were very interesting. He always had a nice conversation with them, and was glad he was here. He knew that he wouldn't forget any of them, and would perhaps visit them later on in his life. No, not perhaps - he would. And owed Conor his life from now on - if the orange wolf needed anything done, he would do it. They were - and Element would never have applied this word to a canine prior to his time in Souls - friends.

He had learned through the talk of the pack that the Dahlia de Maians had a rank system based off of pack loyalty and obedience, and through how active they were in pack hunts and other things. Element thought that this wouldn't suit a cat - cats would rebel within the first few minutes of that - but it worked out quite well for a dog or a canine, for their instincts told them to be in a pack. He thought that Conor was a good leader - strong but gentle. Not too harsh, and not too much of a pushover.

He turned his attention to the ground. It was soft - like dirt, but a bit less wet. It would still, however, make a mark if a claw were to penetrate it. He unsheathed his claws and carefully drew one over the dirt - it wrote. He then began to write words:

He slunk along the dirty streets, a shadow with no name. His paws touched the ground with no effort and no noise - a silent passerby, barely noticeable against the buildings.

Each word took a long time to write - his other claws kept getting in the way, and he rubbed out many words before deciding on that introduction. He read it over and over until it was memorized - he had written something, even if it was short and had no real point. He felt a surge of satisfaction, and hoped that it wouldn't be washed away by water and rain or blown away by the wind. If he ever met someone that could write for him, he'd write a book and put it in the Halifax library for any to read.

570 words. KITTY! :3

There was heavy snowfall on Wolfville that previous evening, which kept Shiloh and most of her siblings and relatives indoors. It was hard to sleep, as Shi felt the house groan under the wind, and chills encased her body so that blankets were not enough. When she finally did find sleep, she woke with almost a start, having a dream (or nightmare, more like it) of the worst kind - she dreamt her perfectly clean and white body was being submerged in a deep pool of mud. Shiloh's body shivered with more than cold as she had gotten up, and found that no one else was home.

How long had she slept? She quickly draped on her coat and shuffled across the house's wooden floors, listening for any sounds of life in the abode. Even Bris and her new daughter were out, which the Dawnbringer female thought was rare. As she felt a yawn coming out, she stretched her mouth wide to let it free, as she made her way to open the door outside. At first, she cracked it open only a sliver, checking to see if snow was still falling. Not even light snowflakes fell, a beautiful sight Shiloh liked to see, but not be in for such a long period of time. A fresh wave of snow covered the lands of Dahlia that day, and though clouds loomed overhead, the sun made the new white powder glitter, begging to be walked upon.

And the pristine female did so willingly, feeling like clean snow was just as good as her feet being protected from the dirt on the ground. Like a pair of shoes she could wear, with frost sticking to her pads, Shiloh chose to ignore it, stepping out for some fresh air. The sun kissed her form as she emerged from the doorway, blue eyes sparkling as she took in the sights of the environment around her. As she looked further to her left, however, she noticed something that stuck out like a sore thumb - a black cat.

For a moment she didn't believe it, for the only cat she ever saw were wild, or the one that Tsukiko had in her house. Ever since she met the other pristine female, Shiloh nearly looked up to her, and longed to have a cat of her own - a pet that was soft, and kept itself clean! It seemed impossible, but it very much was real. No longer caring about the cold, Shiloh made a brisk trail towards the cat, ice crunching under her feet in approach. She knew she wasn't seeing things, the cat was right there, drawing something or other in the ground. Her heart pounded with excitement, thinking the cat was looking for someone or something.

"Hello there, kitty!" She burst aloud, her breath trailing after her words as she neared the black creature. Her voice seemed unlike herself, like the pup she never really was, wanting to hug the cat close to her and feel its soft fur, imagining its lithe and graceful body curl up against her. When she got closer, at the angle the cat was in she did not notice the bright bandage on the its leg. "Are you lost, little one?" The damsel said softly, slowly lowering herself to her knees as she leaned in, attempting to wrap her hands gently around the cat and pick it up.

see my purdy alli table? :3 <3

Element looked down fondly at the words he had written on the ground, wondering where to go with them, when he heard something. Large, cupped ears swiveled forward as his trained eyes picked up a white form moving against the winter forest - something that someone else may not have noticed right away. He breathed in deeply - it was a Dahlian; he had gotten quite used to their scent. The girl walked towards Element, and he smiled in greeting as she told him hello.

He was about to say more when she made to pick him up. He shook his head slightly at her question; "I'm not lost, my dear," he said in a low voice. "And I advise you not to pick me up - my leg has been broken by a horse, and Conor was kind enough to allow me to heal here." He shifted so that his leg did not move, but it was visible with its brightly colored bandages - in the way he was sitting, it may not have been completely visible, and that was understandable. He could understand if this excited young girl wanted to take him home, but that would be impossible with his leg - and even if it was possible, Element would never be content with being a pet. Even now, he longed for his home back in the library, however much he liked Conor.

He knew, however, that it wouldn't do for him to go home now - he wasn't able to even walk around, much less hunt for himself and sustain himself until his leg was better. No, he was very grateful to Conor and his pack for taking him in - he never would have thought that he would accept help from a Luperci six months ago, but now? Now, it was just a matter of who they were.

For example, he knew Conor was a good man - he had not only helped him, but Element had seen the way he treated his pack members. Some leaders may act higher and in total control of their lowers, but Conor had a gentle air about him - he treated everyone the same, even a cat. Element was absolutely not higher up in rank than Conor - they were different species, genuses even - but he still treated him as an equal. And there were wolves like Jefferson, who he had thought was a bad person at first - he had cursed at the cat and threatened to eat his head. But it had turned out that the man was just pained, and after he was better, he was fine. Element knew that no one was perfect; especially not himself. But he also knew that there were good people in the world, and that they didn't all come in feline form.

He looked up at the young girl now - she looked like just a puppy, not much older than a year old perhaps, or even younger. He wondered what kind of person she was - she had been kind and excited so far, but the first impression wasn't always a right one.
