^^ just like an inch inside anathema territory? skye doesn't know there's a pack here; she's visiting her parents.

Skye was on her horse, and she had finally arrived at the edges of the Halcyon mountains. She had gotten Jack to listen to her, thanks to Alder's teachings, and she was now riding him well. He decided to listen to her today, thank God - she needed to visit her parents, and she needed to visit them now. It had been so long ago when she decided to leave the little cabin in the Halcyon mountains and go forth to the world of Souls. She wanted to see her father again, with his great smile and undoubtedly some new invention. She wanted to see her mother again, with the warm look in her eye and her garden prospering.

She wanted, if only for a day, to go home.

She rode Jack to the borders of the mountain, where they rose in rocky awe above her. She urged her horse forward, but he snorted and tossed his head uneasily. Skye sniffed once; the scent of many wolves. Many wolves?! She looked around in panic; was she in a pack? She couldn't be too far in, she barely scented it. But if there was a pack...did that mean they'd discovered her parents? But she and her parents had been here first! She stood with her horse, unsure of what to do; if there was a pack, she wanted to make sure it wasn't going to harm her parents.

Blue eyes were alight in the afternoon sun. A soft mist had encased the small forest in the Anatheman territory and the sun had just broken through the wall of clouded moisture. Although the warrior never had a eye for beauty, when he had exited the cave system this afternoon he had been struck by the oddness that had filled him in seeing the sight. Snow blanketed the slope down from the entrances of their home, unbroken mostly by the pawsteps of their family. The trees were shrouded but the mist was orange hued from the blazing sun that was trying to fight through. As the young warrior watched, a few dozen birds took flight, turning this way and that in the unspoken command of their leader. That was how it should be- there was no motion, no squawk that indicated they should turn. They moved with such a rhythm that they didn’t need the signals.

The snorting and nervous breaths of a horse caught the mans attention. He didn’t know if any of their own family had a horse of their own yet and therefore he deduced it was a stranger. His shifting form was almost a blur as he stood on two legs, strapping his dagger into the ankle band covered by the long trousers that he had found not too long ago. His chest was bare as he padded slowly down the slope. He should have known that they wouldn’t stop. The fresh incident of the intruding coyote, and therefore the dead coyote, should have put his mind on full alert. But perhaps he was conditioned into thinking that people actually respected other peoples boundaries. The horse had come to a stop and Teddy watched as the pale lady scented the air, a look of confusion crossed her face. She obviously hadn’t known this was a territory. Perhaps she should have paid more attention to where she was.

Strong muscled body rippled with power as he approached the horse and rider. Although his lips quivered with the need to defend his home he knew from her expression that she had not meant to trespass. Still, there was a stranger in his land and he had learnt from experience that people usually just took advantage of friendliness. Maintaining a cold look in her direction he tried to keep the hostility from his voice. “You realise you are trespassing on Anatheman land…” Came his gruff voice, deep and masculine as he crossed his bulging arms over his chest, a physical barrier if there ever was one.

Skye paused for a moment before realizing that someone was coming her way - it was a black wolf, his eyes piercing and cold. Jack was unnerved, and he tossed his head more until Skye murmured some comforting words into his ears - if it weren't for him, Skye would have scented the pack's scent too late, and perhaps would have been attacked by this man instead of having him come towards her with a dangerous look on his face.

The man was all black, and he was wearing long trousers that covered his ankles - there was a bulge there, however, as if he were hiding something underneath his trousers. He had large, burly arms crossed across his chest; a sign of maybe not anger, but indignation at least. She guessed that there had been trespassers before this one - and that was the reason he seemed so exasperated. A flit of panic flew through her - what if those trespassers had been her parents? Even though they had been here first! Did this pack chase them away? Kill them?!

She forced herself to wait and calm down; surely they wouldn't kill her parents...they had come here from lands far away. Came here before this pack. Settled here, built a cabin, claimed that land as their own! Surely the pack wouldn't have stolen that away from them. She wished she knew what happened.

She waited until he was in hearing distance, and his voice was hard and cold; she was trespassing on a pack's land, alright. Apparently that pack's name was Anathema.

"I did not know there was a pack here," she said respectfully. Even if she was a leader of another pack, she was lower in rank here than this member. She was a trespasser - but were her parents? "I was born in these lands, before this pack settled here," she said. "My parents still reside here. I was about to visit them." She looked at the man questioningly.

The painfully obvious look of panic in her eyes was enough to tell the man that she honestly had no idea what she was doing out here. Or at least that she had no idea these were pack lands. For a moment the young warrior was distracted by the thought that perhaps Naniko and Azalea had not scent marked the borders properly. He almost allowed a smirk to curl his mouth at the thought that maybe they should provide visual representation that they had claimed these lands. They should have at least dragged the dead coyote’s body around the whole of their borders before they chucked him back to where he had come from. Perhaps the next time one of their spies came a-looking Teddy would suggest to their pale leader that they rub its blood all around them and then place the body on the border for a few days before returning them to their final resting place. Perhaps that would hammer home the fact that they were there and they were here to stay.

Black ear flickered and the white stripe on his forehead crinkled so that it almost disappeared in the fold of his frown. Though the disease had made them more civilised it appeared it had dulled their senses. He could smell Naniko’s scent marks very clearly and he knew that wolves noses were a lot stronger than any normal animal. However, she professed not to know that there had been a pack there. Inhaling deeply Teddy could smell from here that she was of a pack- surely she knew where the boundaries of her pack were. Blatant disbelief crossed his eyes before the turned cold once more.

Perhaps you should be more cautious when crossing lands

Came his curt reply. She however had other ideas- she appeared to want to lay a deeper claim on the lands. A snort escaped him as she told him she had been born here. It mattered very little where someone had been born- Teddy had no claim over the lands that had been his torture chamber. A little twitch of his lip came revealing a long ivory fang. Luckily he had cleaned his teeth, else the blood from the other days hunt would have remained there. Shaking his head with a soft chuckle Teddy addressed her once more.

Is that supposed to mean anything to me? As far as I am aware there were no scents in this area when Anathema claimed it. Perhaps they moved on, or maybe you were wrong in your tracking of them.

Teddy suggested with a cold stare in her direction. It didn’t feel right that she was higher than him, her sat on her horse and he on the ground. But he couldn’t very well ask her to get off her horse now, could he?

More cautious when crossing lands? What the hell was that supposed to mean? That Skye should sniff for scent markers everywhere she goes, just in case a new pack magically popped up in her birthplace overnight? She didn't think so. She wanted to make a biting retort to the man, but she knew that wouldn't help her reputation with the pack - she had to be on good terms with them if they had indeed claimed the lands that were - or, at least, used to be - part of her parents'. She waited until he spoke again.

She saw as the man snorted and fought the will to narrow her eyes at him - and then he snarled, a long ivory fang making its way past his lips. She wondered if he was going to chase him off her lands - she would not leave now until she knew her parents were safe. He spoke again, and the anger in her chest rose - she didn't track them wrong. She knew where she had been born. She was not an idiot. And she knew that her parents didn't leave - they wouldn't. It was just them. And she knew that this pack - or at least someone in it - had to know they were there...didn't they? Or haven't they seen her parents yet?

She saw the discomfort of the man, and then looked at her own horse - he was whinnying louder, pawing at the ground and not meeting the man's eyes. He seemed to be afraid of him - that was a first. Jack may not like people, and he may like people, but she had never seen him actually afraid of someone before. She decided that being on his back wouldn't help her relations with this person, anyway - she quietly dismounted the horse and patted him on the neck. "Calm down, Jack," she murmured into the horse's ear; she didn't know whether this man heard nor did she care. Jack tossed a nervous look her way but stopped whimpering.

She then looked back to the man and began to speak. "I know my parents didn't leave," she said. "They wouldn't, at least not without a good reason." She wondered if a pack there was a good reason - did they leave? No...they couldn't have. Then again, she didn't know how far this pack's claim lay - they could be resting outside of it, or at the very edge. Maybe. "Are you certain that no one in the pack knows if two wolves live here, or around here?" She didn't want to push too hard, but she also didn't want to leave without knowing what happened to her parents.

You guys mind I jumping in? And hi Sunny! It's Nina, from the chatroom? 8D Liev should pop out in the next round <3

He wasn't used to so many herbs still lingering through the snow covered lands. Back in Czarova, finding herbs for potions or even medicines were harder than to search for seals for hunting: without the right skills, you could stay out in the open all week and not find a thing. However, here in.... Canada, if he remembered it right?, was surely easier than breathing. So many he could make a whole pharmacy from them. The Russian wolf was used to little material, and to use his short supplies at its best, not wasting a single leaf.

He was overflowing his small pouches and pockets hung on his belt, and was thinking of returning to his room as soon as possible, but the beautiful morning wouldn't let him go inside just yet. The marvelous scenario was just too overwhelming to just turn his back on it. Fnding a good spot on a bare boulder emerging from the rocky ground covered with sno, he sat there for a second to enjoy the landscape. Breath taking, indeed.

He would have stayed there for a little while more, but the softest breeze blew on his face, and before he could enjoy the soothing sensation of the cold air on his thick pelt, the ex-Captain's nosetrils detected three smells. A horse, a female he had not yet encountered and... Theodore?! He could remember the male that met and welcomed him when he first came to Anathema to join the new pack. He was fierce and... very hard to get through, in the very least, but he knew he wasn't unreasonable. The black man wouldn't jusdt charge into a stranger, even if it had trespassed. But, there was the fact that Anathema was quite terriotorial.

Putting the pieces together, the strategists quickly decided it was better to check if no trouble was being made so early in the morning. He trusted on Theodore's judgement, but the grayish man also knew the warrior had a short temper.

Swift and firm steps were made in a jumping manner, the Russian all so used tyo walking on the slippery iced rocks and such. In a question of minutes, he reached the two other Lupercis, and was more than glad to see Theodore was still in his temper, though in an defensive and intolerant pose. The new Anatheman decided to just sit behind a large oak tree, and just listen for a while. Maybe they did not even needed his interference.

The militar male hid himself skillfully, sinking in the soft snow for a second silently to hide his scent, even for just a while, and steadied his breathing before settling down. Tucking his ears backwards, atent, he listened.

Their father had trained them early in their life to pick up on the most basic emotions rolling off another wolf. Of course, Charles Stone had gone further than that and taught his sons to pick up on hidden emotions and their opponants true nature. But right now the primal anger racing off the pale female was something that he could not ignore. Blue eyes narrowed as heat came from the pale lady and a sugared smile found its way to his own lips. Winding other people up had always been a good pass-time with the man and this time was no different. The only thing that kept his sugary smile from turning vicious was the fact that she was a female and he knew she hadn't really meant to trespass. No one could lie that well, especially with the horse shifting constantly beneath her. He seemed more nervous than his rider and Teddy understood the equine's primal need to be away from one of their natural predators. She looked as though she wanted to say something but the horse grew more restless by the minute.

Big blue eyes widened as her practised motion set his spine tingling. She might have been a trespasser, but her body had looked good moving off that horse. A deep guttural growl threatened to escape his throat before her soothing motions to the horse made him calm down. He was on his own territory and she was the one trespassing. Imagining taking her back to his den and showing her exactly how to ride him was something he knew would never happen. But a man could imagine, right? That sugared smile turned into something more flirtatious, but it quickly disappeared when her indignant tone came to him once more. Perhaps he had pissed her off. He liked them fiesty anyway, so that wasnt exactly a problem. She denied that her parents would have more and he gave a snort once more.

"Well, sugar, they aint here. I patrol these borders daily and I aint never smelt anyone round here that shouldn't be. Until you of course."

He intoned his lilting voice strained even with his expressionless blue eyes. A year away from his fathers harsh punishments had proven to make his voice more expressive, even if his eyes remained under his fathers strict scrutiny. Tail flickered once behind him as for his own amusement he turned those dead blue eyes to her horse. It would spook the thing and he enjoyed watching a woman assert her command over another, even if it was just to her horse. He wanted to tell her she could try and command him anytime, as long as she was naked and locked in his home. Refraining from mentioning this particular offer he listened with a slightly disbelieving look on his face at the pale female who had come demanding things.

"Now, sugar, it would take me a long time to ask everyone in this pack whether they have seen two loners around here, don't you think? And I hope you don't think I would call them all here for the sake of your demands. Wouldn't that be awfully selfish of you?"

His voice crooned softly, fluid and strong as his blue eyes came back to stare at her. He didnt have a name for her yet, but he was damn sure he could get her to scream his if she would calm down at come home with him. A wicked grin flashed over his lips at the thought but he once again refrained from voices. She looked a little uptight right now, and he knew poking too hard was never a way to get her to come away with him.

hi nina! ^^ and sorry for the wait!

Skye's brows knitted together in confusion as she considered what this man was saying - he could be lying, of course, but he seemed genuine...for now. There was a bit of a flirtatious air around him, and she didn't exactly like the look of that smile, nor did she like the way he called her 'sugar'. She wanted to get out of there as fast as she could, and she thought she could smell another wolf on the wind - but that, of course, could be an illusion. Besides, she couldn't just leave her parents there...alone. That wouldn't be right - they most certainly wouldn't leave her if she was in trouble and didn't know where she was. That would be despicable...dirty, even. No, she had to be here for her parents. But the way the man looked at her...

Then, he asked if she wanted him to ask each and every member if they'd seen a few loners. She flattened one ear - that did sound ridiculous when he put it like that, of course. But her doubts vanished as he asked if that would be selfish of her. Selfish! Selfish!! How could this man say that she was selfish when he was the one who was denying her her parents? Anger took over.

"I don't think it'd be selfish of me to ask what happened to my family who have been here long before your pack," she said flatly. Her tail was lashing at this point, and Jack was extremely distressed - she put a calming hand on his neck to no avail. She had to do something - either find her parents or leave, or else Jack would inevitably run away, and she wouldn't be able to find him again. The stress of the situation showed in her eyes as they flashed from the man to Jack in growing panic - what on earth was going to happen now? She couldn't leave her parents...but without Jack, the journey back home would be long and grueling as well as stinking with the stench of failure.

Hi! And OMG! A wild Liev appears! 8D

If there was something he felt was absolutely wrong, it would be the fact Theodore was looking so lustfully at the woman, who was both a stranger and a guest here. Even if she was trespassing. Sincrly, where was the man's honor? Had he been so long without a woman with him? The pale gray man seriously doubted that.

yet, the woman's horse seemed to get more and more distressed, and he could almost see it shurgging off the intruder besides him and running off. And he truly considered if it was his hidden presence that was scaring the equine. Besides, why hide any longer?

He cleared his throath so not to startle the others too much, and then appeared from his hiding spot, eyes and face fully empty, as if scanning the two others. "Good afternoon, ma'am. I'm Liev, and I also belong to this pack. And I'm afraid I have to confirm the words of Theodore. In the brief time I've been exploring the caves and the territories, I haven't found no sign of non-Anatheman wolves. Nor did I heard any humors about loners nearby. I'm sorry you've traveled all the way here for this." He said while nearing them, and halting only a few feet away from them. His calm and respectful aura seemed to affect the horse,as it seemed to have calmed down a bit. Or maybe it was just that he wasn't hiding anymore. Either way, the seemed to be less anxious than before.

Then, he sent a rather disapproving glance at Theodore. It clearly said "I saw what you did there", or something bewteen those lines.

ooc;; you'll have to excuse Teddy- I honestly dont think he's right in the head. Awwh, Liev is such a prude! <333

Teddy could tell that the smile he sent her way had made her uncomfortable. In most occasions Theodore didnt like to make females uncomfortable. However, the anger that rolled off her pale body in waves was enough to get his hackles up and therefore she was worth making nervous. And besides, she still hadn't stepped back over the invisible boundaries of Anatheman land and therefore she was still trespassing. He was tempted to walk forward, spook her horse or something so he wouldnt have to physically remove her from the lands. Her parents werent here- Naniko had checked the area thoroughly before they'd settled here. Was it really their fault for having a home close to where a couple of loners had settled? No, it wasnt. Her angered tones came then and Teddy's grin grew wider.

"Awwh come on sugar... Don't be like that. I'm sorry your parents arent here but is there really any need to take it out on me?"

His taunting tones were accented with the fake batting of his eyelids. The horse behind her was beginning to freak again and Teddy was very tempted to jump forward and make it run. It was these impulsive thoughts that often got the man in trouble and he wasnt about to change that now. He was tensed, ready to spook the horse when a pale grey man charged out from wherever he was hiding and came to stand by Teddy side. With a quick glance to the side he recognised Liev. A huff escaped his body at the pointed look the grey man gave him before the Russian began to speak. Now, of course Liev handled it better than Teddy did. That was just the way things go.

"Oooh, listen to that. Diplomacy at its best..."

Teddy murmered, perhaps loud enough for the pake female to hear and definitely loud enough for the Russian to hear. The smile remained on his lips as he watched Liev try and soothe the horse- blue eyes locked with glassy brown ones and Teddy lifted his lip to the horse to see what it would do. He wasnt really interested in the conversation anymore- he just wanted the pissed off pale lady to remove herself from their lands and find another way round to search for her parents. Trespassing was not allowed and Teddy was reminded of the coyote they'd killed for doing just that. Perhaps Teddy should tell Liev about that once they'd removed the trespasser- remind him that Anathema was not to be messed with, even if it was from a lone woman.

sorry for the delay!

Skye's ears flattened slightly as the man called her 'sugar' once more and replied that she didn't need to take it out on him. His tone was, however, taunting rather than comforting, and he pretended to bat his eyelids at her. The dark man tensed, and Skye tightened her muscles in return, ready to run (she couldn't fight him, at least not on his own packlands) when a sleeker, lighter man emerged from a nearby tree - Skye hadn't even scented him, he had been so well hidden, and she wondered if he would be like the black wolf in that he didn't tolerate strangers.

The light gray and white man spoke, and Skye learned that his name was Liev - and he was much kinder than this other, darker man had been, whose name turned out to be Theodore. He did, however, reflect Theodore's words back to her, that her parents weren't there. Skye's tail lowered - it seemed that her parents really weren't here; she had no doubts that Theodore hadn't seen them, but two pack members not seeing any loners? If her parents had been there, at least one of them would have seen. She was about to reply when she heard Theodore's sarcastic reply, and she snorted softly; hopefully he hadn't heard.

She turned back to Liev, and was glad when her horse calmed down enough for her to do so; he seemed to like the pale man. "Thank you," she said earnestly. "And I apologize for trespassing on your lands." She said this to both of the men, however irritated she felt at the other one; these were his packlands, and she had to respect that, even if she was a leader.

"I will leave now, and I wish you and your pack the best," she said, turning back to Jack. The horse looked spooked again, now staring at Theodore; the dark man had lifted his lips to the horse, and the black and white Appaloosa jumped back, whinnying and frightened. Skye put her hand on the horse's neck, attempting to calm him down - it didn't work, for the most part. Jack was done with this land, it seemed, and he turned away from Skye and promptly began to trot away at a high pace.

Forgetting the men, Skye ran towards her horse and tried to stop him, but he continued. She wasn't just going to let him trot; if he began to run, Skye would lose her horse, and in full view of Theodore. Determined not to let her horse get the better of her, she ran ahead so that Jack was behind her; then, before she could chicken out, she grasped his mane as he picked up speed and threw herself into the horse. At this point, he was cantering, near a full gallop. She righted herself just as he began to fully run again, glad that she had leapt onto his back before he could race away without her.

As he finished his little speech, Theodore snorted and seemed to speak something and, by the look in his eyes and the woman's replying snort, he would rather not know.

She then thanked his information and apologized for the tresppasing, and he rose his palm in a halting yet forgiving manner. "No harm done, ma'am. You are excused for this time." He spoke with a tender smile on his face, but did not forget to imply this forgiveness was restricted to this time only. The Russian had to make sure others would understand abusive trespassing would not be allowed.

The tan female, then, bid her farewell and wished them good luck. A nod towards her announced an agreement and that he wished the same for her as well.

Theodore snarled to the already tense horse, which scared him off in a trot, and the woman ran after the fleeing equine, not looking back. his smile faded away and his face turned into a frown, purple eyes hard and cold as they turned to the black Anatheman besides him. "Theodore, I'm not so sure your methods of intercepting trespassers are... proper." He commented, not willing to let go ofthe warrior's obvious flirting with the woman.

ooc;; sorry for the delay!

The warrior had lost interest at this point. There was far more amusement in staring at the horse and seeing how far he could push it before it bolted. Teddy knew that Liev wasnt going to approve of it and that made him want to do it all the more. He heard her thanks and knew that it most certainly wasnt for him. The soft snort escaped him as Liev accepted her apology and warned her not to do it again. Like a reprimanded child she was allowed to walk away with not a scathe on her. It seemed a little conter productive in Theodore's mine. He certainly had had just about enough of people walking all over their terratory like they didnt smell the scent markers set out by the pale woman and her darker side kick. Did they have no senses in their heads? It appeared not. However, the young warrior couldnt help but slide his gaze round to the pale trespasser, a slick smile on his lips.

"You take care now, sugar."

He offered by way of dismissal. It appeared he didnt need to dismiss her however as his lifted lip and spook tactics had finally worked in spooking her horse. Holding back the roaring laugh that was uncommon for the man, blue eyes watched with amusement as the female tried to catch up with the horse. Failing, she pulled ahead of him and threw herself onto the horses back. Just about managing to pull herself up before he really bolted. Teddy let out the roaring laugh that he had held in. Holding a hand to his belly he dimly recognised that he hadnt lauged like that in a while. Of course it was short lived as everything happy was with Teddy. He let his smile fade, ready to head back to the dens when Liev's tones came through. Blue eyes turned back to cold purple ones as his mother twisted into a sneer.

"I'm not so sure your comment on my methods of intercepting trespassers is proper. Perhaps you should keep your nose out next time?"

Came his equally cold and sharp reply. In Teddy's mind the Russian had no right to call him up on his proper behaviour and the young Marbas was not afraid to tell him. Eyebrows raised as he waited to see if the grey man had anything else to say about his conduct.

Bah, no problem <3

Wouldn't he stop it?! Even when the poor woman tried to catch up with the horse HE had scared off, he wouldn't stop himself. And laughing at the woman's trouble?! How disappointing, to say the least...

"I don't believe I would, no. I still wonder what would of have happened if I haven't been here..." The Russian talked back, the coldness and hardness in his purple eyes matching that of the Marbas besides him. He crossed his arms over his chest in a rather aggressive way... if that was actually possible. The gray man could have punched the other, but didn't, since it wouldn't be appropriate. In fact, he could stop himself to do things he wanted to. A skill that seemed rather poor on the black warrior.

He kept on staring back at the other's blue eyes, not willing to be the first to give up. Actually, the older male could of stay like that the rest of the day, if necessary, but seeing the both of them had duties to attend, all much more important than that childish face-off, the Russian sighed deeply, worrying of what would be of the young wolf in front of him.

"I believe it's about time we return to our other duties. Shall we?" The grayish man spoke up, still looking at the other, but stretching out a hand for the other to go first.

ooc;; end of thread? <33

The young Marbas could tell that the grey man was irritated and just a little disbelieving of Theodore's attitude. Of course, the young male didnt think it was wrong at all. His father had always taught them to be the dominant ones, to let nobody walk all over them. And in his twisted mind he saw the pale woman as a threat that must be removed from his pack lands. Added into this with his own twisted libido and general arrogence came the leering smiles and the derogative names that spewed from his mouth. It was just how he was and there was really nothing a few well placed words or filthy looks from an almost foreigner could do to him. He was immune to it. Of course, when the man spoke again Teddy couldnt help the sneer on his lips as he turned back to face him.

"The outcome would have been the same- the horse looked ready to snap and was already halfway off our land. The female would have left when her horse did."

He stated simply, almost sure that the outcome would have been the same. Skye seemed riled up for a fight when Liev had arrived and a very small part of Teddy's trecherous brain told him that if the Russian hadnt arrived it might have turned into something more nasty. Images of the dead coyote flashed in his mind and the male repressed a shudder. Not of disgust or of shame, of the bloodlust he had felt tearing the vermins ear off and mangling his muzzle. The grey man spoke once more and Teddy focussed on the males voice. They did both have duties to fulfill and he was never going to be accused of being a slacker. With the mans grey arm outstretched to allow Teddy to lead the gave a sharp nod of his head.

"See you around Liev"

He spoke with a short, clipped tone before he moved off and away from the Russian. He wasnt sure he trusted the male and he certainly wasnt sure why the grey man thought he could move with with words and looks. He was barking up the wrong tree there. Still, nothing that the young warrior wouldnt be happy to ignore.
