Hai!

It was odd to go away from Anathema, even for just a while. It was like a mother leaving her cubs on the den to hunt. Even after such a short period, he had grown overly attatched to his new pack. Ever since he had joined and became part of the pack, bonded by blood, the mountains now felt like part of him. Leaving the rocky and icy ground for this sandy shore now was almost... wrong.

Waving off those thoughts, he returned to his tracking. He had been following a group of horses for a while, and he thought that if he could herd them back to Anatheman lands, some could be captured and tamed. Yet, those creatures seemed to get farther away the more he left the packlands. It just must be a prank!

Landing from a hop onto a rocky bench, he sniffed it, looking for any traces of the equines. None. The Russian male bit his lower lips lightly in discontent. How annoying. In a quick jump, the bulky warrior landed once again in the sand, now darting deeper into the sparce woods. Damn creatures got to be around there.

After a short race, the warrior spotted their tracks. It seemed to be going farther from Anathema. Not good. He had heard the others talking about the neighbors out in the west. Phoenix Valley, if he remembered well. He wasn't intending to trespass into their lands, but it just made him boil with wrath from coming out so far for nothing. Sniffing the air, the foreign wolf smelt their scent, even faint, in the wind. He was getting too close. Next time he get across those beasts...

"URGH!!" he roared in his anger. It took a lot to get the ex-General that mad. In fact, he was quite the calm tracker, but back in Russia, Czarova, his pack, was miles and miles away from another pack, except for the wandering group they sometimes crossed ways. It made things much easier. They could keep walking for weeks in order to find a group of reindeer and such. But here, there were too many packs, and so close together. It almost made him claustrophobic. He was so used with snow-covered plains and occasional mountains, stretching as far as their eyes could go. Oh, he missed that feeling of freedom of seeing such an open space, even though it was no good in the middle of a blizzaerd, and if you was lost.

But no mind that.

He should return to Anathema. Or not? Maybe there was a clearing full of grass where they must of have stopped to eat. Or it must be even more forest ahead. Oh, how complicated!!

He crouched in the earthy soil, one knee in the ground, resting aside with one of his hands, balled in a fist, the other knee up, where his elbow rested, the hand belongig to that arm pinching the bridge of his muzzle. Thinking. His strategical mind traced multiple routes of actions, filing them down and analyzing each of them carefully. He kept that stance, not moving at all, except for his chest going slowly up and down with his breathing.

Soon, however, an eagle landed in a tree not far from him. It shrieked, making the male abort his plan making and open his eyes in a start. He slowly turned to the eagle. It was staring at him with curious eyes. The male sighed and shook his head. Lowspeech was quite helpful, but he did not enjoy it. Don't practice for a while and you get rusty.

But still worth a try. He started whistling and making shrieking sounds from his throath, talking to the big bird. It answered readily to his questions. "See horses night day?", "Wolves pack near?", "Herd animals food near?" and such. Lowspeech required very little grammar, and only the words hat could actually be translated to it. It was very complicated at first, but once you get into it, it just flows, as smoothly as highspeech.

A minute later, they were immeresed in a deep conversation, but it might of be sounding like an unncordinated choral between the two of them. Not that he cared, really. After all, there was no one there.
