Amata! Italics are dream-world. <3 305 words.

It had been a great number of days since the accident, but there seemed to be no improvement in the young Marino's state of being. Her small body was growing more frail with each passing day, and though her family had been doing everything that they could to get what nutrition they could force into her, but there was no denying the that young Marino was beginning to waste away. If her family could not wake her soon, then there likely would be little hope for her. Ten days had passed since she had fallen from the roof of the manor and hit her head, and unbeknownst to the sleeping girl, it had been just as long since Denali had run away with feelings of guilt, though it was not his fault at all. The girl slept on, unaware of the members of the pack who came into her room, unaware of how many hours her mother and sisters sat beside her.

She did not know where she was. Artemis could not see anyone, and she did not recognize the place where she was. It did not look like anywhere in Crimson Dreams, and the color seemed to be drained out of the world, faded and empty-feeling. "Hello?" she called, taking a step forward into the strange, cold-feeling world. There was something wrong with this place, but the young silver girl did not know how she had gotten there, let alone where the place was. How had she gotten to this place, and where was everyone else? Why could she not remember how she had gotten there? She felt like there was something horribly wrong with her being there... It did not feel right. Why was she stuck there, and how could she get back to her home and her family? She felt so alone.

OOC: sorry about the delay!

Amata came in the room after speaking quietly with Cambria about the condition of their sister. She had not changed… it had been several days since she’d been knocked into a coma. Amata had thought it was due to a bit of a shock to the brain, it was something she read before but the scientific name was out of her reach, in any case a name was not going to wake her little sister. She walked into the room. Savina was resting so Amata went about her work as quietly as she could. Taking Artemis’ arm she could feel her puls and noted how slow her heartbeat was. Her temperature was the same, her breathing was exactly the same…

Oh Artemis if you can hear me, everyone needs you… especially your mom. Come back to us girl.

She knew she was the least well known sister to the little family, but she still cared about her sister so much. It worried her that she couldn’t get to see the girl’s playful eyes blinking again. And Denali, who’d run away had been nowhere to be found. She had tried once finding him, but had no luck and she and Cambria basically stayed here when one was awake the other was asleep. That way there was someone was always here with Artemis, and even their mother could sleep, though they were not always there on constant as they sometimes had to leave for food or something for Artemis, right now Amata was checking vitals.

Silver ears fell back against her skull as she stared at the faded world that she was standing in. It felt so wrong for her to be standing there and calling for someone who could not be found, but she did not know what else to do. Artemis did not know how she would be able to get out of this strange, hollow-feeling world and back to the family she loved so dearly in the lands she called home. This place did not look like Crimson Dreams, and she did not recognize it at all. Where was she, and how did she end up here? She wrapped her arms around her chest, hugging herself tightly. For the first time in her life, Artemis felt like she might really be afraid of something. The young Marino was never fearful. What had happened to make her feel this way, and how could she reverse it?

Suddenly she looked up at the overcast sky in this empty, bizarre world. Artemis had heard her older sister’s voice, her name catching her attention. “Amata?” she asked tentatively, peering around her nervously. “Amata, where are you? I can hear you, I can!” Artemis could not see her anywhere, but she knew that she had heard her sister’s voice talking to her, and she had been able to hear what Amata was saying. “Amata, I want to come home! I just can’t find you!” she called out, beginning to walk nervously through the deserted street of the cold place that she had found herself in. Artemis wanted to go back to her family, she wanted to be with her mom and her dad and her siblings again! She felt so lost and confused, she just did not know how to find her family and her home again. The young girl wanted nothing more than to go back to her family and her pack of Dreamers again, she just did not know how she was going to be able to do it.

OOC:!

Amata sat there for a little while looking at her sister. She then opened one eye at a time, checking them as well. They were still the same. Everything was the same… nothing had changed… she was a doctor and she couldn’t wake up a pup. It was hard on her. She wanted to help so very much.

Silvano comes to visit you. Have you heard some of his stories? He does it for you and mom. To keep her occupied. You should see how much he’s grown in the few days. He had to. With Denali gone and Gotham doing whatever…

She continued as she worked on checking the rest of the girl’s vitals. She found the blood preassure cuff that had been salvaged… from who knew where. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was it was intact. She put it around the girls arm and took the stethoscope and put it just under the bend of her arm. Pumping the cuff listening for what she needed to. it took a little while but she got what she needed. She recorded everything on the paper that was laying beside the bed. There had been little to no change.

Cambria is worried too, we don’t know what to do for you. Just tell us how to bring you back little sister.

She caught herself as she was nearly about to cry. it was so hard to see her little sister so lifeless… she was getting so thin too. There was only so much they could do before she wasted away…

The young girl continued to walk, searching for the source of her older sister’s voice that she could hear so distantly. It sounded as hollow as this world felt and as hollow as her own voice sounded, but she knew that the sound was out there somewhere, even if it was far away. If she kept looking, then surely she would find Amata, and surely she would be able to find her way back to the rest of her family and to her home among the Dreamers. Amata would be able to help her, but first Artemis was going to need to find her. Her sister would not abandon her, just as she knew that the rest of her family would not, either, as soon as she could find them. She felt so lost and so scared, but that thought encouraged her, and she began to walk more quickly. She passed indistinct shapes, but she ignored them, trying to distance herself from the strange and cold world she had come to be in.

Silvano had been here? Artemis did not remember him being in this strange world with her, but maybe he had been. Denali was gone? What did Amata’s hollow voice mean by that? Denali could not be gone, he was her brother and her best friend! “Where did Denali go? You need to find him!” she urged to the empty air around her. Hopefully Amata could hear her, but maybe she could not. Maybe she could only speak to Artemis and they could not exchange words until the younger sister was able to actually find her. “Amata, I want to come home! Please find me! I don’t know how to come home…” Artemis wanted nothing more than to be able to answer Amata’s pleas for help, and she wished so very badly that she knew how to help them bring her back from wherever she was, but it seemed like they did not know where she was, either. It was so lonely here in this cold, overcast world.

Her vitals being taken Amata just sat next to the little girl, the one she dearly wished to get to know, as it was this one had taken after her adventurousness, so much that it had gotten her into enough trouble that something like this would happen. It was hard to imagine something so … unhappy could go on in the best place in the world. Amata was quiet for a while. It was hard not receiving an answer when she spoke. She knew that any familiarity could also bring back her sister. She’d read it … the same passage about coma victims. Over and over again, though it impacted them, she thought… it didn’t wake them up.

You know… I use to get in trouble just like you, mamma always had to come rescue me or even dada… now you… fell, and we cannot help you… I’m so lost Artie,

Amata spoke at last… not sure what she was saying, but she felt the tears this time, and as strong willed as she was she couldn’t help but let them come. She felt helpless, yes she lost patients. Yes she’d did a miracle cure before. But she had never experienced anything like this. To see family laying there wasting away.

All you have to do is just wake up, Artemis…

The woman folded her arms and leaned down on the bed where she rested her head nestled in her arms as she watched the sleeping form of her sister. She could see the lines where bones were curved now… they weren’t giving her all she needed and her body was now eating away at what reserves it had left… she wasn’t sure if Artemis would last another week. She whispered inaudible in her arms, a prayer that would hopefully bring the young girl back safely. She was not a religious wolf but right now… anything was welcome.

Artemis tilted her head to the side in her strange dream world, listening to the hollow sound of her elder sister’s voice. She already knew that Amata was lost—she couldn’t find her, and she did not need the healer to tell her that. Her older sister sounded so sad, and Artemis wanted so desperately to be with her, to comfort her when she sounded so sad, but she could not find her no matter how hard she looked. The strange, faded world she had found herself in did not seem to have a definitive shape and therefore, she did not truly know where to look for her older sister, but she was trying so hard to get to her and she did not know what to do.

Hearing the pleading tone of the next words brought a surge of frustration up from the pit of her stomach. What did Amata mean by saying that all she needed to do was wake up? Artemis was awake! She just couldn’t find anybody! It was so frustrating for her to feel so lost and confused and alone, and to hear someone she loved calling to her when she could not find them was distressing. “Amata, I don’t know where you are!” she shouted into the distance, her own voice sounding so far away to her own ears.

With a huff of frustration, the silver girl dropped to the ground of this strange place, crossing her legs over one another with her face in her hands. She lowered one away from her cheek, pressing it to the earth below her, but it did not feel right. There was something wrong with the way the ground felt under her fingertips, and once more she found herself getting angry that she did not know where she was or why she was there, and she certainly did not know how to leave.

WC: 214 OOC: We could wrap this up I think!! <3 <3

She had to sit down now, there was so much going on in her mind. If only she knew what was going in Artemis’ what she was doing in her sleep now, what could she do if she knew though? Would she be able to bring the girl back to consciousness? Whatever the case, she couldn’t do that. She felt so helpless right now. Her hand was covering her face, failing to stop the tears that were coming freely.

Artemis, just come back to us, we miss you, mamma misses you. Papa even misses you, if you come back I’m sure Denali will too.

She said through a muffled cry, she did not know her adopted brother as much as she knew Artemis, but he was still a loss nonetheless, especially since he was so young, and he couldn’t take care of himself. She couldn’t find him, and she couldn’t wake up Artemis. She was feeling like a failure ever second. Even Cambria didn’t know what to do, their mother had no idea either, Gotham had been so quiet, it was scary, to think all this had to have happened like this, something so bad had to happen to her sister… one or a few, but she was still her sister in any case.

The young girl was growing frustrated with the strange, hollow world she had found herself in and the absence of her sister that she could hear so distantly. The disembodied voice of her sister spoke Denali's name, drawing Artemis' attention, but she did not know what her sister meant. As well as not knowing where she was and not being able to find her sister, Artemis felt as if she was not able to understand what Amata was saying. She could comprehend the words, but she could not make sense of what they could possibly mean. It was disheartening to realize thatshe could not comprehend the meaning behind her eldest sister's hollow-sounding spoken words.

As if nothing could come of trying to find Amata, the young silver girl hugged her knees close to her chest, rocking herself quietly. She did not know what she was going to do with herself, but she feared that she would be stuck in this faded world for the rest of her life. Was she dead? Maybe that was it, and that was why she could not find Amata, because Amata was not dead. Maybe the young silver Marino really was dead... The thought terrified her. She did not want to be dead! She began to cry softly, thinking desperately of how to save herself.
