OOC: this is a time warp... where Liliana and Nayati meet in an alternate universe at the age of 3 months!! Big Grin

”Liliana you need to sit still or you will fall off the horse.”

Liliana’s mother warned as Liliana tried to see over the horses’ head. She wanted to see where they were headed, the scent was odd, and there were noises all around as she heard many wolves all around her. This scared her. the pudgy little pup had learned at an early age that she was not always welcome in a pack’s lands. Her mother had assured her they were nice, and they wouldn’t bother her. Her dad did too, he was walking rather than riding though. He walked next to Liliana and her mother, his head up proud. She loved him when he did that, though she wasn’t sure why. They stopped and Lili was picked up by her father so her mother could get off the horse. Lili was then put on the ground, she looked up at the two that had taken care of her all her life and wagged her tail. She wished she could ride the horse on the way back.

”Go explore, but stay close ok? Do not leave the village.”

Lili’s mother said and started leading the horse away. Liliana was generally a good puppy which was why they let her roam a little when they had business to take care of. Liliana sniffed around wondering what she could find. Everything here was so different, the homes here were made up in a different way than Liliana was use to, she liked it though. Peeking around a corner she made sure to try and keep out from under the fee of the adults. Were there any other pups here? Sometimes she got lucky and found a short friend, other times not so much, but she hoped that today would bring her at least a little luck, there were so many wolves there was bound to be someone to play with.

Sooooo weird writing him as a puppy! SoSuWriMo 301

As so many pups are, the little Utina boy was full of energy and could easily get into mischief. When the day had started, his mother had wanted him to stay in the hut, but he had soon shown her the error of that way of thinking. Nayati bounced around their home, sticking his nose in wherever he could get to and knocking a few baskets and other things over in the process. When something fell it startled him for a moment, but soon he was back looking at the next interesting thing that was lined up against the walls. His mother was a craftswoman and there were just oh so many interesting things around that she had made. Finally Talulah could take no more of her little son's antics and told him to go find his friend Asha to play with. Nayati was not averse to this idea at all and with a happy bark he bounded out of the Utina's hut on large paws.

Nayati knew exactly where Asha lived with her parents and he could be like a heat-seeking missile when he locked onto a destination. That was most days, but it appeared that today was not quite an ordinary day. There was a dark puppy looking around the village, one he had never seen before. They looked kinda funny, not quite like himself or Asha or any of the other puppies in the tribe. Forgetting his task to find his best friend to play with, Nayati walked over to the strange puppy, a smile on his face and his tail wagging. "Hey!" he said, a little more loud than was necessary. "I nevar seens you befores! Who is yous? Your fur is differenter than my furs." No one could ever claim that Nayati was a shy boy.

OOC: Definitely interesting!!

Liliana’s heart went to her throat when she heard a voice from behind her. He had snuck up on her! How embarrassing! She looked behind her to see another puppy! This boy was white entirely, and it amazed her, though she had seen many white wolves he seemed oddly… unique. She tried to get her composure back when she spoke.

L-Liliana. Who’r you?

She asked, curiousity and suspicion mixed in her words as she stared the boy over. He was really lively and he was wagging his tail, so she knew she didn’t have to be defensive today, but then he mentioned her fur and she puffed out her cheeks.

I gottum from my mommy.

She said defensively, so he seemed interested about her fur, and it wasn’t just because she was part dog, but did he realize that? She had to make sure that he wanted to be nice to her before she calmed down. Though he was a curious thing, she might be a little more open to him, but she just had to be sure he wasn’t going to tease her like some of the other’s did. She hated being teased.

Yah! Big Grin SoSuWriMo 282

It seemed like maybe he had startled her, but he really wasn't worried about that. She wouldn't be startled for long for he was not scary. Nope, not scary at all. When she spoke there was a strange note in her voice that he didn't think he had ever heard before, like she didn't trust him or something. Even that didn't dampen his spirits though, especially not when she had asked him who he was. "I'm Nayati Utina!" he said proudly, his little chest puffing out to show how cool it was that he was who he was. This Liliana should feel special for getting to meet him! There weren't many, okay any, outside of the tribe who had ever been graced by his presence.

The pale boy with equally pale blue eyes cocked his head as she seemed to be a little upset or something that he had talked about her fur. Was it a bad thing? He hadn't thought it was a bad thing, but maybe it was some kind of curse put on her by evil spirits? Nayati wanted to ask, but he knew he would be in big, big trouble if he asked something like that because it wasn't nice. "Yahs? I's never seens anyones wif furs like dats befores." It looked like it would feel different from his own fur. Cautiously he raised one of his disproportionate paws and stuck it out, wanting to feel her different hair but not wanting to touch her right away either, for that was not nice either. He may have been exuberant and not followed every rule he was supposed to, but he knew some boundaries weren't meant to be crossed.

OOC here!

He saw him puff out his chest in pride, well she’d seen something like this… but not entirely in this manner, and she thought it was funny…. Cute funny not stupid funny though… and she started giggling. She lived a paw to hide whatever she had left of her giggles, as though she could hide them away.

You have a funny name,

She said, trying to be nice… but it was just too silly for her to not giggle at it. She didn’t know his confusion by her suspicions but that seemed a distant memory now. Right now he was making a slightly good impression until he started reaching for her. though his hand lingered and he didn’t touch her, she shied away… his paw was only a few inches from her when she stepped back…

What’s so special about different hair…. It gets me into twouble

Liliana pouted, looking at his hand and keeping away from it. She could understand contact in a game, yes but just randomly touching someone, no…

Yah! Big Grin SoSuWriMo 283

The reaction he got was definitely not the reaction he had expected. Maybe an "oooooh" and perhaps an "awwwwwwe" thrown in there for good measure. But no, she was giggling at him. The giggling wasn't so bad really, but when she said his name was funny, well that just was not the kind of response it was supposed to evoke at all. Nayati's chest deflated and he stuck his bottom jaw forward in a pout, brows knitting together. "Is not funny either!" he said quite as seriously as a puppy could. His name was a good name, a proud name, it was not a funny name. Wherever Liliana came from, the names must have been really dull and boring for her to think that his name was actually funny. Part of the boy didn't even want to talk to this strange girl anymore, now that she had tarnished his honor.

By the time she pulled away his interest in feeling her different fur had abated. Now, pretty much all his focus was on how she had laughed at his name and he was quite obviously pouting about it. Nayati's rump hit the ground to sit in an exaggerated manner as he looked back over at her, skeptical. "I 'unno if it's speshul. I just never seens it befores. Plus dat's silly. Hair don't get yous in twouble." That was just crazy talk. "Sayin' someones names is funnies, that is whats gets you into twouble." Maybe she was just confused about what caused her to get into trouble. Nayati really couldn't see how her hair could possibly be the issue. It was different, yeah, but it wasn't any reason to get in trouble for.

OOC here!

Liliana stopped giggling at once when he seemed to not think his name was not funny. She felt bad now, she never usually made fun of someone and here she was inadvertently doing it to a stranger, she felt very bad. What made it worse was his comment about her fur… oh that made her feel like less than dirt, worse than when the other wolves picked on her for being a hybrid wolf-dog.

I’m sowy, I make it up? My mama brought a horse from the wild, wanna go see it?

She knew her mom had lead it away, but how hard would it be to find her mother and a horse as pretty as the dapple grey. She looked at Nayati hopefully, she wanted to make friends but she wasn’t doing so well, but if she changed the subject in a way and showed him the horse that his mother was bringing for one of the members he might be forgiving.

Come on! Is like pwaying hide and see!

She said, and her chubby legs bounded towards where her parents had walked off to. Nayati could follow if he wanted too… and she wanted him to.
