Whispers of the heart. --

It had been his first morning inside the Dahlia de Mai territory, waking up to the burning sun against his coat. Each and every fiber of his thick, white fur had become illuminated in the light and Tempest gave off a certain glow into the morn. On contrary to the warmth of the sun, a cold breeze chilled him and snow had been making its appearance more than often. The little pup rolled and whined, reluctantly hauling himself from the ground and giving himself a shake. His eager claws dug into the earth and he was ready for a fresh start.

He'd taken up the offer from Saluce on entry of the pack, staying at his shop until he found a place to live otherwise. A warm temporary-shelter and a new friend was certainly a good start in his books. Tempest had made his way out of the shop, and into the vast territory of Dahlia de Mai that extended before him. He figured it would be useful to become familiar with his new home, explore the area and meet its inhabitants. "I wonder if there are other pups around.." He muttered, nearly always allowing himself to believe he would be the youngest. His hefty white paws lead him from shrub to bush and every pile of dirt or thing he could sniff until he knew it all. The pup had premeditated many things that had recently been confirmed. The feeling of proper placement, and stability. The sweet sweet smells that accumulated around him. Everything was perfect so far, and all he needed was a hobby, or a friend. Certainly he would settle for both.

Yo! Big Grin

Though Phones was young, he no longer had the stature of the puppy that he once was. Lanky and awkwardly built, but not completely at a loss of any lean muscle. He had to keep in shape if he hoped to be able to run with the only three legs that he had, otherwise he would have to actually act handicapped, which he hated to do. He hated being a burden on everyone else, and hell he hated being called weak. That was the main reason that he had to leave his old pack. He was done, and he needed to escape.

The temperatures were still low, and Phones shivered as he made his way around his new home. It was a wonder how he was able to make it in, and was still in shock over the confrontation with Conor. The ash stained teen tried hard not to think to much on it, since he hadn't even shown anyone what he could do as a new member. Working with needles was his specialty, not to put it in a creepy way, but it was something he could do with his hands if he needed to sit down after a long walk. It kept his mind preoccupied, and if he got a cut, he was able to fix the wound with some general treatment and a few stitches. A couple of the piercings in his ears were done by him as well, which of course he worked on a bit before he took a needle to himself. Most couldn't bare the thought of doing such a thing, but it hardly bothered Phones at all. It hurt, and it hurt bad, but he trusted himself, more than he trusted anyone else.

Phones froze in place, the sight of another forcing him to halt in his tracks. Ears folded down and his body lowered, but his headphones kept him at a calm, allowing him to remember that he was in a good place now. No one would hurt him here. Right?

OOC; Howdy! x3 (337 words.)

His curious nose had lead him on an adventure through each up and down of Dahlia de Mai territory. By the time he had come upon another wolf, he was familiar with the area and on his rump the white fluff of fur for a tail he possessed waged blissfully to-and-fro. Tempest couldn't catch a breath before darting between snow drifts and tree trunks, lucid joyful thoughts brimming in his mind. With a snort, his paws had maneuvered incorrectly and the pup had made a crash landing into a heap of white powder.

Upon giving his head a thorough shake and his maw a lick, pools of crystalline azure had wandered and met a pair of autumn eyes merely feet away from his own. Exuberantly he had sprung from the snow and woofed in greeting toward the ash dappled male as his paws carried him across the ice. "Hello there!" He spoke, giving the other a quick look over and acknowledging that he was nearly his age or the same, and the timid demeanor the pup displayed meant he should take it easy. Tempest would feel awful for scaring him off or alarming him, especially after realizing this peculiar looking wolf was a new Dahlian, much like himself. A formal greeting was to be made before anything else. "Tempest." Putting his name forth to the other, he waited for a reply and then took his time to soak up the fine details of the specimen. The shimmer of metallic jewelry had caught his eye and Tempest saw that the other wolfs ears were decorated finely with metal. It had painfully reminded him of the drifters pack leader that he was previously under rule of before deviating into the Dahlia de Mai pack. As much as he had hated that scum of a canine, he believed it meant some sort of artistic expression that he had learned to respect. To him it certainly seemed like this wolf would prove to be a fine character.

When the other pup came bounding towards him, Phone's immediate response to it was to play dead. He sort of failed with flopping over to his side and pretend to have been struck with a heart attack of sorts and instead crouched onto his stomach and covered his face with both paws in reaction to when others came charging after him, it usually hurt when they ran into him.

He didn't realize that the white wolf meant no harm, but for Phones, he was completely terrified of most things that walked or talked to him. He liked company, but this was a lot for him to handle in a single day. Talking with Conor was definitely a bit of a self esteem boost for being accepted into the pack, but he was still worried over nothing, because the paranoia got the better of him.

Lowering one paw, Phones looked up at the other boy, seeing that he didn't hurt him and his stature was not dominating as the others were when he was in his old pack. His headphones were still on top of his ears, but he could hear the other's words clearly still.

"Phones," his words were muffled underneath his paws, but he wasn't sure he was ready to be completely open with the other. He seemed nice, but then again, so did the rest of them.

Play dead!? xD

Tempest was taken aback seeing the other pup simultaneously drop to the ground on his approach. His heart sank, but instinctively he slowed his pace and huffed gently in his direction. The other wolf seemed alarmed by his presence, and his mock 'play-dead' maneuver put the cherry on top. As his white figure reached the other who was now laying in a pile on the ground, he sat on his rump and leaned down cautiously toward him.

“Phones?” A fitting name he gathered, spotting the large headphones latched onto his cranium. Tempest brought himself down to the boys level and laid flat on the ground. A certain drive within him made him feel as if he should make an effort with this wolf. By his actions, maybe he didn't want to make friends, but he carried on with gentle conversation. “Sorry I.. probably caught you off guard there.” He let out a sentimental whine, feeling sort of guilty for his puppy-like actions. “I didn't mean to scare you. But anyway.. you're new here, too?” Bringing his black-padded paw to his mouth, he chewed aimlessly on his claws and plucked globs of snow from the fur between his toes. He raised his eyes and scanned over the other curiously for any signs of life. This boy seemed like a hard nut to crack, but Tempest wanted a friend equally as much as he wanted others to feel comfortable here in Dahlia. Reminiscing upon his first day in the Dahlia de Mai pack only 2 weeks ago, already he had felt more comfortable and welcomed here than any other place he had been. In Greenland where he originated, there was no 'home'. Travelers were never stationary, always on the the move. It was nice to hold a sense of stability and use within one place for more than a few days. It was certainly nice to have a home. And inside, he wanted Phones to feel as great as he did.

"It's not your f-fault," he responded quietly, peaking from underneath his large paws. His reactions were uncontrolled by him despite his terrible fear of others. When he saw the other boy come towards him, he assumed that he was going to either slam into him or try to pounce and pin him down. He was so familiar with the motions that his only reactions to it were to either flee or endure himself the pain that was going to come.

"S-Sorry, I'm not used to everyone being friendly," he admitted. Being new and growing up in the conditions he was used to made it difficult for Phones to adapt rapidly as many others did. He wanted to become better and to meet others, but it was stressing him because it wasn't something that he was used to at all. This pack and its members already did seem better than any other wolves that Phones knew.

He got up slowly, brushing some of the snow off of himself as he slid his headphones off to better understand the other boy. "Yep, are you too?" he asked curiously. Phones was still a bit shaky from the slight scare from earlier, his paws shifted restlessly and he hoped that the other didn't make any sudden movements that may cause his nerves to involuntarily spike in a bad way.

[html](308) occ: Hope you dont mind if Shay joins in (hoping for a thread with all characters in her pack) Yey Smile<3

It was a great day to play in the snow, and Shayna had taken full advantage of this in decision that acting mature all the time was far too boring these days. Earlier in the morning she had left Conor’s grand Victorian household, and set off on a walk to yet again explore unseen territory with hopeful ambitions to memorise a couple more faces if she got lucky and stumbled across some fellow pack members. After a playful tree climb and a ungrateful dumping in snow from a loss of grip on icy bark the girl had morphed into her tiny quadruped form, visible only by the curly ebony-tipped swizzle of her fluffy twisted tail prancing and bombing about in the snow.

It was hard for her to make out at first, but as soon as she had de-camouflaged the two pale hued wolfish looking characters her small frame bounced up tall and proudly onto all four tiny pads with an uncontainable excitement – a girly high pitch bark escaping her. Without another second to lose the little pixie darted across the snow, clumsily throwing one paw down after the other in a recurring race to which paw would reach the two strangers first. It wasn’t long before she had skidded to a stop in front of the two rather large strangers that now faced who could of easily shadowed the girls frame. Her tongue hung limply out of her mouth as she lulled for air, bright cinnamon gold eyes directing towards them both with a clear interest of curiosity. ”Hihi!” she blurted out, still regaining her breath ”Shayna” she fumbled once more, collapsing her body down into the soft white blanket beneath and rolling clockwise, her resting position now nearer the one who had a problem keeping their paws still it seemed than the other more reserved wolf.

ooc; Yay! The more the merrier! :3

Well, he actually has a voice. The boy had mentally remarked, giving a slight nod in Phones' direction. It was easily understood that his new acquaintance was a tad shaky, and something underneath his skin made it difficult to open up to others. He blinked, casually falling into his train of thought. Perhaps this wolf had been mistreated, or picked on by other bully pups. Tempests top lip nearly curled into a snarl of awful disgust, but he restrained. -- A question was heard from the other, and his mind re-registered what had been going on beforehand. "Ah, yes. I'm fairly new to Dahlia." He spoke in reply, letting his words softly flow from his maw, in a minute attempt to calm the other. "The others are very kind here. It was hard for me at first, too.." Letting a small sigh escape him, he gently shook his head and scattered a thin layer of snow that had began to fall from his coat. Tiny crystals cascaded and swirled into the clearing where they two wolves had been, and made home in their already white fur.

A sudden ruckus made its appearance in front of them, a earth hued she-wolf bounding from a snow drift barking happily in their direction. Tempest instantly looked to Phones, whom he had hoped could handle yet another surprise entry. She was completely out of breath, parked before them with her tongue hanging from her maw and a silly grin on her face. After introducing herself as Shayna, he pulled himself upward slightly and replied with "Tempest. And this is Phones." Introducing the two of them, in fear the other wolf would be rendered speechless yet again. He gave his fluff-for-a-tail a wag, her puppy-like behavior almost exciting him in return. Remarkably another wolf had made her way into Tempests' path and he had hoped to make friends with her as well.

Sudden noises did not suit well with Phones at all. He was just beginning to recover from the other male. Tempest may not have realized it, but his words soothed the three-legged pup more than he knew. There was still the constant worry and anxiety that Phones suffered from, but he was managing. That was until a shrill bark pierced through the safety of his headphones and into his ears.

"No, no, no, no..." he hunkered to the ground again, his eyes screwed shut and body trembling in absolute fear. He wanted to leave now, there were too many of them, and maybe Tempest was lying and now he was recruiting others. But he seemed so nice before, why would he turn around so suddenly like that? Phones whimpered pitifully.

Although the headphones helped calm him, it didn't completely emancipate his ability to hear. He listened to Tempest, opening up only one eye when he noticed the other male introducing him instead of ganging up on him. How could he think that way of another? He barely even knew the other boy and already he was making assumptions. He was terrible, thinking like that meant that he was behaving no differently than the others. Slowly, Phones picked himself up off the ground, still shaking, but he gave a very weak nod to the female.
