Phosphagos Foothills && Just outside of Anathema borders. Anyone involved in the avalanche thread, just gloss over details- assume it went well!

They had been struck. The day before yesterday had started mostly cold and windy. But the evening, snow had begun to fall on the already white-coated ground. Of course, it had set pretty quickly having already had the base coat of slick snow to settle on. There wasnt anything to suspect that it wouldnt just be a normal snowstorm. The wind had picked up in th evening and the snow had gotten heavier. Most of the wolves of Anathema had retreated into the caves- most stuck together to keep warm. It was no surprise that the stone caves did not retain heat very well and Teddy had spent most of that night before last in the general common room with others That didnt mean that trouble couldnt get them. It certainly had.

The day before had seen them in a desperate attempt to free Naniko's sister. Selene had been on the other side of an avalanche that had trapped her. Ever the hero, and now Rakeeb of Anathema, Teddy had lead his team into a frantic dig to retrieve her. It had taken most of the day and his muscles ached to no end. But they had freed her and she was recovering, hopefully. They hadnt seen Pontiac in a while and Teddy wondered about the D'Angelo sister. Of course, she may just have found refuge in her own cave, or with another pack. She was safe, at least in the young Rakeeb's mind. It had occured to the young man yesterday when the had once again set up camp in the warmest points of Anathema. There was a wasted opportunity here.

There must be hundreds of animals panicking about the snorm, trying desperately to find shelter. And where better to find shelter in the shadow of a mountain. Blowing in the right direction, the snow would hit the back of the mountain whilst they nestled in rip wolf territory. He had asked Naniko whether she thought it a good idea and she had returned his question with a quick nod. She was busy making sure her sister was okay and Teddy understood that, mostly. So he had grabbed a quick team together, including his sort of friend Liev. They were going hunting. But to bring back live animals.

Armed up to his face in strong ropes, the Rakeeb had dug himself out this morning. Once again there had been a brief reprieve like the morning before, but he was out there less than ten minutes before the snow began to drift down. It didnt take long for the wind to follow. Squinting his eyes for a moment, Teddy grabbed a small strip of deer hide he's cured and quickly sliced two slits into them. A snow shield for his eyes. It took him less than a moment to tie it round his head before he was off. They had decided the day before not to go out together- they would be spotted much more easily this way. They were to go out in separate direction at separate times and see if they could come back with some animals. If they saw each other along the way, well that was a bonus he guessed.

He had headed towards the foothills, optime form low to the ground. He would wait here for a while for his prey to come to him. He wasnt certain where the rest of his hunting party were but he was sure they were round here somewhere. Laying low in the snow, Teddy sought to cover most of his black fur to hide himself. Dun coloured strip of fur to hide his blue eyes and he was away. It wasnt long before the huffed breath of an animal alerted his attention and he froze. He would watch first and attack soon. Hopefully the others had the same idea.

The Russian male walked with soft steps down the snow hills, big round feet preventing him to dig too deep into the snow. His bandana was tied tight around his neck, which was the place her felt cold most. It was almost ironical, since his throath and chest was most hairy parts of his whole body. Even so, it must of be phsycological or something.

He sure was glad Juju was well. The male had checked on her before leaving the cave system, and she seemed to be bouncing back quicker than he thought. The whole situation had surely scared him at first, but since she was fine now, there no reason to be afraid anymore. They had made sure to be more careful around the mountains and the foreign wolf made sure to scan the higher areas and assure the snow was safe enough for now, and not endangering another avalanche.

Now, with some ropes Miss Liliana had given him to train lassoing, purple eyes scanned the area for possible preys. He could see him, but Theodore was surely around. Ever since that event on the beach, their connection had gotten deeper and deeper, and the Russian felt secure in saying they were friends. The mutual respect and trust they now held felt as strong as the ex-Captain felt to his underlings back at his former pack.

Then, the muffled sound of hooves sinking into the snow called his attention. Ears and eyes darted to said direction, and a small group of mountain goats appeared not too far, their off white pelt making it hard to distinguish them apart from the snow. And they were right where he wanted them to.

The male had been tracking them since he was analizing the snow of the mountains, and he found them the perfect subjects for his lassoing trainning. Soon. Very soon, they would be tied up with a rope on their neck, on their way to the caves. Not that it would be that easy, but he knew the lassoing part would. The whole taming and controling part would be the tough part. Oh, it sure would.

But no mind that, time to focus on the task at hand.

The wind was chilly and the snow cold on his feet but the coydog continued walking on two legs over the snow banks. The storm had hit them hard and for the first time in his life Giuseppe was thankful for something. Specificity not being stuck out there with just him and Teo trying to survive this storm. From the looks of things nothing had been left without being covered by white and he was happy not to have been stuck out there with the loners. It was a strange feeling to be thankful but he was not happy being out in the snow now.

He had been approached about being one of a few to go out and search for animals searching for shelter. He was under the impression these animals were for food for the entire pack and only because of this did he agree knowing that he would be fed well. So he had borrowed some clothes that they had brought back to the cave after being accepted. A dark blue pair of jeans protected his legs, held up by a thick belt with an skull as his belt buckle. On his chest he wore a white muscle shirt cover by a leather jacket. At least he was warmer then he would have been without the clothing.

Ropes were wrapped in an X formation over his shoulders and pillow case hung from his belt just in case he found some birds or rabbits. Stubbing through the snow it was difficult to travel. His ears stayed perked up and his eyes squinted as he searched for any sign of movement. After quite some time he was starting to feel frozen when his ears suddenly shifted towards a sound in the distance. Moving as lightly as he could Giuseppe started towards the sound, brown eyes searching for any sign of what creature had made the noise.

Okay, we are still waiting on Viking and Larkspur. They are free to jump in at anytime! Also, could you PM me your characters catch so I can add it to the website?

The foggy morning was perfect for this work, even if the males out in the freezing cold were growing numb with the temperature. The animals would be lost, heading for the mountains and for the shelter of the caves that Anathema had inhabited. With thick ropes strapped around his body Theodore was ready to take home a few animals today. He didnt know where any of his other team were but he was sure they were out there waiting. Teddy wasnt too certain on the new dog hybred Naniko had allowed in the pack, but he would tolerate the man as long as he wasnt rude to him. That was the line Teddy had set- rudeness and disrespect were not to be tolerated. Still, he knew Liev was out in the fog, and Viking might have joined them too. Larkspur had mentioned that he might come along if his children were safe. It was understandable and Theodore had respect for the older black man.

Thoughts of his team were pushed from his mind as the nervous snort of horses caught his attention. They werent running as he thought they might, but they were definitely stressed. The snorts and trusses of their hooves against the frozen ground were frequent and fast- they didnt like being in the dip of the hills anymore than the next prey animal. This was his chance to act. He moved like lightening in the snow, cutting quickly through the compact powder and making a wide loop around the herd. He could see five or six beasts in total and he fully intended to catch all of them. He would need to be swift about it though and he knew they would not give in without a fight. Still, luck was on his side. One of the beasts had an injured leg- he would go for that first. Another was a foal and stuck close to its mothers side- they would be second and third. The last three appeared to be stronger but the freezing temperatures were taking its toll on all of their bodies. Not quite as quick to react when the first lasso hooped through the air and landed skillfully over the injured horses head.

Teddy pulled the lasso tight, cutting off the horses sharp whiny of warning. The rest of the herd remained oblivious as Teddy's immense strength held the animal in place. Very carefully he dragged it out of sight and into the bushes. Like a panther stealing its prey from the back, the horse had disappeared from its herd. It attempted to squeal and Teddy tightened the noose around its neck. It stayed quiet and the young Rakeeb swiftly tethered it to a tree. It fought but the young warrior was happy in the knowledge that it would be safe. It was time for the mother and baby and Teddy was a little more aprehensive as he moved back into the open. The fog clouded his appearance and for a moment he just looked like a shadow. The mare reared and kicked, her baby moving closer to her side. It had set off the other animals and they bolted. Cursing he lunged forward, constrictor like arms wrapping around the foal and lifting it in the air. It struggled and kicked but the man held it steady. The mare, terrified for her child, moved forward in defense. A swift punch to the face subdued her and Teddy awkwardly slipped a hoop over her neck. With her foal to hostage he led the stunned mare back behind the bushes once more.

He had to move very quickly if he wanted to get the other three horses back. They might be far away by now, but their loyatly to the mare and foal might have stopped them from getting too far away. He had two ropes left for three horses. An connundrum indeed. The strong warrior took off, powerful limbs carrying him with great speed. His nose took him in the direction of the three horses- two females and a leading male. Perhaps if he caught the male the two females would follow him. He wasnt sure, but he was tempted to try it anyway. Blue eyes caught the flash of dappled grey that he had seen earlier and the young man stealthed forward. It might just be this easy. Of course, he hadnt counted on the foal catching his arm and as the man drew back his arm to throw the lasso his tendons and muscled screeched in pain. Sneaky animal. Gritting his teeth Teddy ignored the gash in his arm and loosed the rope. The stallion's head reared back and he almost ripped the rope from the warriors hand. Catching it just in time he pulled the horse down into submission. As he suspected the mares stood and watched, trying to stay close to their lead male. Half dragging half coercing the stallion to come back to the small holding area he had secured, Teddy was triumphant as he roped all six horses together. He would certainly celebrate tonight.

haha Teddy punching a horse reminds me of when I did that. My hand hurt like hell. They have strong skulls. ;-; AND SHEEEEEP. Sorry for the delay!

He did not go after horses. While many had become panicked in the storm, Larkspur had a horse and therefore saw no need for more. Instead he had focused on things he identified as food. A small band of sheep, having fled into the forest in the storm, were his intended prey. On horseback, he assumed hunting them would be easy. A rope was held loosely in hand, orange eyes looking for whichever animal seemed to be the leader of the small band. Once spotted, he had zeroed in on the ram—it was an impressive male, and the wolf decided he wished to one day hang those horns in his home.

The horse circled wide, moving at her own pace, listening to the subtle signals given by Larkspur’s legs. Oblivious to the wolf, for they smelled horse first, the sheep did not worry. This was good. His arm rose and with a sudden toss, he had the ram’s horns caught. The sheep then panicked, bleating and running from their flailing leader. Larkspur leapt from the horses’ back and pulled the rope taunt, using his superior weight to get close to the animal. It, thankfully, did not try to charge him. With the strength his father’s blood had given him, the orange eyed wolf quickly had the ram bound by all four feet. He hoisted it onto the nervous horses back, and as it bleated in panic, the other sheep came from the forest. Satisfied they would follow, he began riding back towards Anathema.

lol Teddy gonna have sore fist later .D btw, Liev's catch is three mountain goats, two miniature horses, a pig, and a (regular) horse.

Only hardly could the Russian hear the others working, not too far from where he was. Well, time to get this done! The male circled slowly the small herd of goats, careful not to get caught. With one hand, he stretched the rope out and with the other, he started to move around the lasso, readying to lace the bigger ram he took to be the leader. With the little he heard from Liliana, the male knew if he captured the leader and guided him back, the others would follow.

In a swift movement, he trhew the lasso and tugged hardly at it, feeling it had caught the big horns of the male. It struggled lightly at the tugging at first, but when the grayish man began to reel the rope in closer, it really began to fight, the others seeming confused at first, but then very wary and divided into running away and sticking to their leader. At last, they came along as the ram was brought closer to where the Russian was.

When he was close enough, the male tackled it lightly, taking a firm grasp at his huge horns to make sure it wouldn't charge to his legs - because it would surely hurt, if not break his leg bones -, and tyed the creature to the tree he nearest to.

Once the sheep calmed down besides the lassoed ram, he went after some other creatures.

Luckily, he didn't have to go too far to find two horses that seemed to have got lost from their herd, plus a wild boar that sat not so far from the equines. They were more of miniature horses than actual horses, which meant they should be fairly easy to retrieve. A tiny smile crept on his face before he made more lassos on the tips of his remaining ropes. As swiftly as he did with the goats, the Russian got a hold on both the horses and the pig, quickly tugging them along to where he had roped the goats. Their most wild struggles and flails didn't even make the Luperci budge, being them so weak in comparison.

Now that he was rather satisfied with his share, the male was about to get the goats and go back to Anathema, when a black figure appeared, not too far from where he stood. The thin mist around it looked almost mystical, as well as the small smoke that escaped from its nosetrils from when it breathed out. It was quite a big horse indeed. From the firm, wild look on its dark eyes and the few scars on its body showed it was a loner. It was a fair white with a few markings in a pitch black color.

The beauty in it sparkled the male's wish-- no, the desire to take it back and tame it himself. Oh, he would do it, yes!

There was only two ropes left, and it was almost too perfect. In quick movements, he strenghtened the lasso's ties and laced together the two ropes; he would be needing them, seeing the size of the creature. With the same quick movements he used with the other creatures, he laced the horse's neck tightly, and it fought back, snorting and whinning. Like a tug of war, he sinked his feet deep in the snow and began to reel the creature in. Boy, was it strong!

Lucky for him, the animal's struggling grew weaker before his own strenght ran low. Once he had a fair amount of rope left, he tied it to his waist quickly and, still holding part of it with one hand, he reached out for the other animals. Luckily, it stopped tugging so much, seeing his belly was starting to hurt fairly.

Once the reached the tree the goats and horses were, he untied the rope from his waist and laced it tightly around one of his arms. With the horse on one hand and the other's on the other hand, he started the trip back to Anathema.

The chill of the air was not something he wanted to put up with right now. Even though the jeans and jacket kept his body fairly warm there was still a chill in the air the went straight to his bones every time the wind blew making him grumble and cuss in annoyance. For now he headed up and along the mountain side, sticking his head into the odd cave to listen for any animals that were hiding. The longer it took the less the coy-dog wanted to be outside. The snow was deep and it took all his effort to move along the freezing mountain side. Why had he even agreed to help these stupid wolves out? They could just wait until the spring time to go searching for animals to tame. This was just some stupid hippy , love everything shit that he no longer wanted to do.

Turning around after searching for too long something unusual caught the dark dogs attention. A faint sound of sorts could barley be made out on the mountain side. Perking his ears straight up Giuseppe looked rather ridiculous, as his ears were noticeably longer than any wolf or coyote, a trait he had earned from his father's side. Luckily his long ears came in handy when tracking down the sounds. Stepping out of the cold wind and into a dimly sun lit cave it the noise became frantic as a herd of mountain goats 'bah'ed their way past the canine.

A smile grew on his face as the Trovato was reminded of his home in Italy where he would often spend his time competing with his fathers gang of criminals. More than a couple of times they had released a group of sheep into an arena and seen how many sheep each person could rope. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to carry the few goats he caught, the male would have to resort to just getting the rope around their little necks. Slipping the rope to the ground he instinctively started work.

Shortly after roping the three goats he had managed to separate from the running herd Giuseppe had started back home, a grin on his face. Sometimes he wished he could return home but maybe he could still do the ranching things here. Leading the struggling goats was difficult but he was sure it would be worth it when he could sink his teeth into one of their throats. With one strong tug the goats reluctantly moved a few more steps. It was then that the dark minded canine stopped dead in his tracks. There in the snow was horse tracks that had not been there before.

Squinting he looked into the light fog trying to see the horse that had let the marks. Quickly he found a near by cave and tied the goats around a rather large rock before taking a rope into his hand and starting back into the cold in search of the animal. Winning in the distance lead him straight towards a sad sight. A young horse, looking to be just past the yearling stage, was standing perfectly still and had obviously been outside for some time. Looking around there was no sign of a heard.

Ranch animals were one thing that Giuseppe felt a connection with. In his entire puphood he had been rejected by everyone but his fathers criminals and the animals on the ranch. Making a loop with the rope he whirled it in the air before flinging it swiftly over the colts neck. The struggle was only halfhearted as the coy-dog pulled him into the cave and took a better look at him. The young horse was thin with hunger but nothing that a few good meals wouldn't take care of. It was a nice color of brown with a shaggy black mane growing on it's head and a thick white stripe down the middle of its nose.. From the looks of it the male horse was of training age and soon would be ready to carry a passenger. His pack mates would be pleased with the stallion and tree goats. Untying the goats he began to head for Anathema.
